Fantastic experience: My daughter loves it and so do I. The coaches are awesome, they teach more than just MMA, they teach the kids how to all around good people. The kids aren't allowed to laugh at anyone who doesn't quite know a move. I love how the kids that have been there for a while m, helps the kids that just started. I will definitely be sending my daughter there on a regular, all the employees are really kind.

Fantastic experience: Very family friendly environment. The instructors are thoughtful and capable. It's still a growing gym so sometimes your partner may be a beginner or you may have to practice the basics, but it's about the community and the results you get are going to be determined by what effort you focus on yourself. Update: I've been going to Tsunami for two years now and felt compelled to give a more detailed summary about Tsunami and why it's a great gym. I've tried every class now and all of the instructors are very experienced and have an eye for safety and adapting their feedback to the needs of the students. Coach Roy teaches the kickboxing/muay thai classes and is an amazing athlete, but more importantly he knows how to organize a class so that beginners and veterans alike know what to focus on in a class. Especially for beginners, martial arts classes can be a dangerous thing. But Coach Roy is watchful and guides classes to be a constructive atmosphere 99% of the time (thing is, nobody can control every variable when you're in an open space of dozens of people, but we're all taught to put safety first). The Brazilian jiu-jitsu classes include gi and no-gi classes. The classes are 3 evening classes and one midday class on Saturday. Coach Mohammid and Coach Devin bring a lot of athleticism and teaching experience every class. You get what you put into it, though. It's also really important that beginners focus on learning their capabilities (or lack of) and work on building from that platform of understanding. The great thing about Tsunami Jiu-jitsu is that the classes and the consistent students are very accomodating and if you just go to class, you're guaranteed to see improvements physically and mentally and even emotionally. You will find it challenging and you should but there's nothing so rewarding as being better than you were yesterday.

Fantastic experience: I tried a few different places to start training BJJ. I chose this place for a few reasons. 1) Everyone in the class from the instructor to fellow students are awesome and very helpful. 2) They've got a lot of different classes if I want to try anything else. At the moment it's just bjj but I can see myself taking a few others just to try them out. 3) They have a number of different bjj classes for varying skill levels. 4) The place is small enough to feel like a local gym but large enough to attract a diverse group of folks. Most importantly, the bjj classes aren't huge but there are still quite a few folks in every one. 5) The support staff was welcoming and friendly from the time I walked up til now. There are quite a few folks that I've talked with who are much more experienced and skilled (in bjj) than I am and they give the place a thumbs up.

Fantastic experience: My daughters (10 & 8) have been practicing Brazilian jiu-jitsu for over 2 years at Tsunami. The coaches are very accomplished and professional. They know how to teach skills in a fun and rigorous format that my girls really enjoy. I am amazed with the complexity of this sport and how well the coaches adjust their instruction to teach the diverse ages, abilities, and personalities in the children's classes. Aside from learning jiu-jitsu, both my children and I have really appreciated the strong, supportive relationships we have developed with the Tsunami staff and other attending families. Fantastic experience: Absolutely love this place! There is something here for the entire family. While my son was in jiu jitsu I did kick boxing. I always tone up quickly doing kick boxing. The entire staff is skilled and knowledgable of their craft. I highly recommend it.

Fantastic experience: Bruce has trained with some of the greatest martial artists of our time and as such is a force to be reckoned with in any arena! That being said he is one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet and he's great with kids too!

Fantastic experience: I loved my time at Tsunami. Sadly, I had to move for work and I severely miss the people here. If you are interested in trying BJJ (or any other class), then I highly recommend you do it here, especially if you are hesitant or shy. All of the coaches, staff, and students are welcoming and are eager to help you learn. This place has the gamut of people that live their life for the sport to people that use it as a stress relieving hobby and there is no judgment on where you sit on this spectrum. As a bonus, this place and the people there helped me get into the best shape of my life.

They don’t just teach martial arts well; they teach being a good citizen. Our daughter has learned so much. The parents can kick box or do Muay Thai. Fantastic experience: Love the team and my experience at Tsunami MMA! My wife introduced me to the gym for kickboxing classes and we had a wonderful time working out during the classes. The gym owners and trainers did an excellent job of taking individualized time with people during class to make sure your technique can improve and how to get better. We haven't been in a while because we moved to a different neighborhood farther away, but I would love to get back there to see the new location and cross-train. If you're considering visiting or joining the gym, absolutely do it. You'll feel great, stronger, and learn some excellent skills for both self-defense and overall health and wellness.

Everyone is encouraging and positive and the gym is very beginner and family friendly, in addition to being able to coach more experienced or advanced student. The kids are learning valuable skills like, discipline, perseverance, character, and self defense in addition to staying active and having fun. My kids really love going here. As an adult who has never been particularly athletic, this year has been one of development. The coaches have been motivating the entire way and now I have my eye competing. As soon as the kids feel ready, they will be competing too. They have adult classes for Taekwondo, Muay Thai, BJJ, and cardio kickboxing and kids classes in Taekwondo and BJJ. Tsunami is a family friendly gym that is very welcoming.

Fantastic experience: Tsunami is a great place that offers a variety of disciplines, with something for everyone. I take cardio kickboxing and get an intense workout. There’s also Taekwondo, with separate classes for kids and adults. The children’s classes involve serious training but also seem fun, and the kids appear to love it. During the summer, there’s a martial arts camp aimed at kids. On top of this, Tsunami offers Muay Thai Kickboxing and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for kids and adults, so there’s something always going on. The instructors all know their stuff and are friendly and personable. If you want to delve into martial arts or just keep fit, you can’t go wrong with Tsunami Mixed Martial Arts.

Fantastic experience: Very friendly atmosphere and knowledgeable staff. It’s a new gym that is still establishing a name for itself, but all you have to do is walk in a see for yourself the dozens of medals and competition belts in the hallway. Very skilled BJJ instructors.

Fantastic experience: I decided to give Tsunami a try after my boyfriend who does jiu jitsu there (and loves it!) told me about cardio kickboxing classes. I considered myself a pretty fit person so I wasn’t intimidades by the class, little did I know the class was absolutely brutal. It was SUCH a good workout! It was extremely challenging because all of the coaches at Tsunami push you to your limits because they want you to get stronger and better. Since then, I’ve been going 4-5 times per week because I LOVE their classes! The coaches are great people who are passionate about what they do. They’re so helpful and they really do care about you. I’ve had nothing but wonderful experiences at this martial arts gym and I can guarantee you that you won’t regret joining it! Not only are the coaches wonderful, but the owner is also super kind. The place is very clean and all of the students are kind, helpful, and friendly. If you’re reading reviews to decide if you want to join the gym or not, DO IT! It’s one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I feel so much stronger and healthier since joining just a month ago!
