Mercado Muay Thai & Fitness

Fantastic experience: Years ago I first walked into this gym after spending 7 days in the ICU due to my own poor decisions. I needed to improve my health and I am so thankful this was the gym I walked into. After a few months, and encouragement from the coaches, I started getting on the mats for Muay Thai, and absolutely fell in love with it. Friends and family both would comment on how my physical and mental health had improved since joining the gym. I had to move out of Orange County and leave MMT so I tried a different school in my new location and I absolutely hated it in comparison to the amazing coaches at MMT. So I quit doing martial arts for multiple years. When I moved back to OC (years later) I came back to MMT, and was shocked that not only did Frankie (the owner) remember me but many of the other members of the gym and coaches remembered me too. Since returning I've lost over 30 pounds and went down 2 belt notches. This year I had my first fight and felt beyond supported by the entire staff and community they built there. They pushed me beyond where I thought I could go but never past where I actually could go, and with their help won my first fight. If you are looking to get in shape and build confidence in yourself? This is the right place. If you're looking to learn to defend yourself? This is the right place. If you are looking to gain the skills to become a fighter? This is the right place. If you are already an elite fighter and want to train with men and women at a high caliber (people so good I struggle to comprehend it)? This is the right place. If you're a bully or have a big ego this is the WRONG place. Whatever your goals are it's up to you to achieve them but this gym will give you the expertise, knowledge, and tools to do so and be in your corner the entire time.

Fantastic experience: This gym has been a life saver for me. After leaving a very bad marriage, I wanted to try kickboxing classes but have never really been a gym person and was pretty nervous. This place feels more like a family than a typical gym. There are all different types of people with all different skill levels and everyone is welcomed and encouraged. I usually attend the noon kickboxing/cardio class with Jeff and he is awesome! I have been getting back into shape and building my confidence along the way. I even brought my 10 year old son to some classes and he had so much fun and learned a lot! He felt safe and encouraged (plus as a boy, getting to punch something is always great). I can't say enough positive things about this gym. If you join not only are you supporting a small business but you are joining the MMT family.

Fantastic experience: MMT is the place to train at regardless of what level you're at! When looking for a gym the most important things to me are the skill level of the coaches, how comfortable you feel at the gym & the cleanliness of the place (especially if you're doing BJJ). MMT checks all those boxes n then some. No matter how many reviews you read there's no substitute for coming in n checking out the place yourself cause you'll see that the classes clearly speak for themselves!

Fantastic experience: Very clean, welcoming place to work out. Frankie and the trainers are always mixing up the exercises in the cardio classes to keep it new and interesting. 21 fit day with Mary and Max Slipchenko is a great way to kick start a workout routine. Comes with a nutrition plan that's not a diet. It teaches you clean eating habits that will continue after the plan ends. You'll see significant fat loss and strength gains.

Fantastic experience: I have known Frankie Mercado for many years. His dedication to the arts is impressive. I have had the pleasure of training Jiu JitSu under the tutelage of James Casas. I highly encourage those interested give this great group of guys a strong look. Young or old! I am almost 61 and I am just starting again! New beginnings!

Fantastic experience: Best MMA gym in Orange County. The facility is clean, energy is high. Great instructors with a variety of classes. Personal training with the owner, Frankie Mercado, and the Slipchenko's is the highlight for me. Highly recommend for anyone with a love for fitness at any level or age.

Fantastic experience: alright, so I usually don't write reviews at all. But I have to tell you about this gym. first of all awsome people! (I am not just saying that because thats what people are suppose to say on a review) I am say this because the coaches are amazing. Frankie really kicks your butt in the kickboxing class, and so do the rest of the coaches! the best part of MMT is that there are NO CONTRACTS, NO START UP FEES. This is great for my husband and I because he is in the military, and we will be moving next mid next year. I don't want to have to worry about cancelling contracts and so on. Ok besides that, if you want to get a good work, burn calories and EVEN GET A FITNESS COACH, MMT can give that to you! another best part, Frankie let my husband try the gym out for 3 days for free! (we signed him up right after!) my point people is that this gym feels like home!
