Fantastic experience: Best local YMCA ever - don't let the other reviews influence you unduly. The equipment is top notch and well maintained, and there is, aside from the Jan-March rush, more than enough for the standard crowd. The facility is always clean. brightly lit, and the kids programs are fantastic. The members are great, aside from the unavoidable occasional lunk ;-), are kind, neighborly, and very encouraging. This is a family YMCA, this is our family YMCA- we've been members for over 10 years now and our kids have been participating ever since.

Fantastic experience: I went to Planet Fitness for years before I discovered the treasure that is the local Y. There is a great variety of classes, fantastic trainers and a wonderful community of people who exercise. No matter your fitness level, there is something here for you!

Fantastic experience: I‘ve recently enrolled at the Forsyth County YMCA. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. The amenities are clean and they provide great group classes. They added new training machines recently. The building and neighborhood are beautiful. It's a plus to be located at Vickery Village.

Fantastic experience: Very good facilities and programs. I would recommend to my friends. I like Coach program and new Matrix treadmill. I would recommend elliptical machines should be upgraded to have YouTube. Coach program is very good to starters, it's guides how to use machines, goal setting and suggestions. One suggestion for coach program, need to update software for goal setting, tracking and should be available online. Also day care is not available on Friday, Saturday and evening. It limits family to come in evening. On Friday at least day care should be available in the evening.

Fantastic experience: After witnessing a group of teens sitting around vaping at One Life Fitness I decided to check out the Y, and I couldn't be happier that I did. The environment at the Y is much different than One Life - it is cozier and friendlier, and everyone is busy working out (adult and teens alike) instead of sitting around texting and showing off their new Lulu-lemon outfits. The Y has all the equipment you'd expect regardless of your level of weight training or cardio (to say nothing of swimming, a real track, and basketball courts) and no waiting due to crowds! Most importantly I can't say enough great things about the great staff who always greet you with a warm smile and a kind word. They walk around and interact with you and ensure everything is as it should be. And they'll even gently correct you if you're doing something obnoxious (like slamming weights) so everyone can have an enjoyable workout. At the end of the day, One Life Fitness is the place if you just want to see and be seen, while the Y is the place to get down to the business of building muscle and getting fit. I am enjoying my workouts SO much more now which has caused me to go the the gym more often and it shows. I was in Vegas a few weeks ago and asked the information desk about a restaurant. The guy says, the restaurant is right around the corner "but you can't bring those 'guns' in there" :-) Damn right.

Fantastic experience: Love this place- best value gym with pool and child care. Many an hour training - and I’ve always been impressed with the kind staff. Sure- it’s not lifetime fitness, but for half the price you can get the same (or more) fitness.

Fantastic experience: Friendly staff and easy to sign up for membership. Everything is on App now, easy to get classes you want. Sauna is now open excellent! Love to Hot tub too!

Fantastic experience: Clean facilities. Friendly staff. Not too crowded. Pool could be heated a little more by a couple degrees to be comfortable.

It has everything you would want in a gym, it’s very clean, great workout classes, equipment, kind staff, etc. My kids love coming to the Y too because of the childcare there. They are so caring, fun, happy and welcoming. They have created an environment where my kids can enjoy and feel comfortable too. I’m so grateful for them and allowing me to have the time and tools I need to accomplish my goals.

Fantastic experience: I recently joined YMCA club with Family plan. We already knew about tthem from different sources. It’s a great place to have some gym / swimming time with family. My kids love coming here.

Fantastic experience: Summer camp at Lake Lanier has been an amazing experience for my daughter so far! She's having a blast. Camp counselors are engaging and make it really fun for the kids. Love hearing about the daily adventures. I really appreciate the shuttle from the Y to the lake, and the super easy drop off & pick up.

Fantastic experience: The YMCA is outstanding. They recently added a little more room for freeweights. They have lots of classes, kiddo care, family activities, free events that kiddos and parents love, etc. Great staff, friendly people. Basketball courts, pool with swim lessons, and more. Thankful tobhave them here in Vickery.

Fantastic experience: Love the Y! The heated Yoga is great, the pool is big and nice and they even have ping pond tables. The staff is very kind and generally, it’s a very special place!

Fantastic experience: My daughter uses the pool in the early morning hours before school. I appreciate there is a lifeguard on duty during that time so my mind is at ease. The front desk staff is always so friendly and accommodating. We are fortunate to have this facility so close to home.

Fantastic experience: The Forsyth County Y is a wonderful facility. When relocating from Connecticut 12 yearsago, I was thrilled to see this new facility. We were fortunate to find a home and community we enjoy only two miles from the Y. The opportunities for seniors to have many choices to stay fit and active allows everyone I have met here to benefit. Many of us have had surgeries from which we must rehab and recover; and I personally find my trainer Dania to be equal to the PT’s To whom I am referred by my surgeons. The social aspect and opportunities to meet other wonderful people is another plus in avoiding isolation for many of the members. Another aspect I have found to be rewarding is the young members who are polite and gracious to Seniors. And, who can resist the adorable youngsters we encounter. The Y STAFF COULD BEST BE DESCRIBED WITH ALL THESE QUALITIES! When another facility opened a couple of years ago, it qualified for the “Silver Sneakers”program which allows seniors to belong “for Free.” Naturally on a fixed income I believed this would be helpful. I watched a number of my Y friends and neighbors rush to join there. One visit was my ONLY visit there. The dark loud interior, equipment, lack of elevator AND Bright Daylight easily convinced me the new Fitness Center was NOT for me. THE FORSYTH “ Y” is geared to families and seniors! TRY IT ————YOU WILL LIKE IT!

Fantastic experience: They are very welcoming and the staff is friendly, very helpful and caring! My grandson went to camp this year for the first time and told my daughter to take him to the y camp. He loves it and Is very sad that this is his last week! The camp counselors have been wonderful to him and made his first camp experience awesome!
