Iron Legacy Gym f/k/a Gold's

Fantastic experience: Possibly the best gym I've ever joined. It has a truly family like atmosphere, fostered by the owners; the staff is actually all family. They are all extremely accomodating and helpful. All live a fitness lifestyle and can talk and educate on the full range of topics...from workout advice to nutrition to encouraging you to join in on one their classes. The equipment isn't of the "prepackaged" kind, it is a mix of the best machines from the different manufacturers. This is a real gym...not a fitness center where you go to walk on the treadmill and talk to your friends. The other members are friendly and let you work in on machines normally and when appropriate. They have a full complement of classes from combat to yoga with great instructors. The prices at the juice bar and in the pro shop are extremely reasonable and membership prices are comparable to any other health club in Myrtle Beach and in my opinion, you get a lot more for the $$. An overall great gym.

Fantastic experience: Best gym in Myrtle Beach. Been conning here on vacation for the last 3 years and I always go a few times during the week. Staff are very friendly. They have everything I need to get my workout in. Some have complained that the equipment is dated or old. It's a strength gym not Planet Fitness. All the machines I saw where I'm working order and not in bad shape. The only gripe I could possibly have would be the restrooms. I will definitely be conning back whenever I'm in town..

Fantastic experience: I thoroughly enjoyed my weekly membership. I took Body Pump twice and Body Combat once. My favorite class is Combat with Pump coming in a close second. Loved the Combat instructors on Tuesday!! They kicked my butt in an awesome way!! Loved my Pump instructors especially the instructor on Monday. He did a great job and was very motivating. I am going to miss LES MILLS greatly as my gym at home got rid of the Les Mills programs and replaced them. I plan to come back again next summer for another round :)!! 0

Fantastic experience: This gym is awesome. The classes they have are great especially for someone like me who doesnt know what to do when working out alone or gets bored easily with working out. Body Pump class is my favorite. The instructors here hold my attention well and wear me out! Staff if very friendly, knowledgable, and willing to help answer questions or show me how to do something correctly

Fantastic experience: I've been in gyms for over 30 years. This may be the best combination of a hard core gym and friendly staff I've ever been in. My family was in myrtle Beach on vacation and the staff made us feel very welcomed. My sons and I went there almost every day of our vacation. We plan on coming back to Myrtle Beach next year instead of another beach, and the gym is one of the reasons why. Can't say enough good things about the staff and atmosphere.

Fantastic experience: If your looking for old school gym and not afraid to get your hands a little dirty and you might even sweat a little this is the gym. You can even grunt a little bit if you like seeing that they have some dumbbells above 75 lbs. Good atmosphere and good people. Some vintage equipment but still works. Awesome staff and good drinks and merchandise to purchase.

Fantastic experience: Great gym with extremely friendly staff. They have everything you need to get the job done and a guest pass is very reasonably priced. I’m really glad I found this place before visiting the area and would recommend anyone doing the same to go here. They open early so you can get a workout in before all of your planned activities.

Fantastic experience: The gym is awesome! Real gym, 2nd golds gym in America. BUT what keeps us coming back are Tedd and Nancy, the owners. Every time we come to the beach from the Clemson area, we choose this gym because Tedd and Nancy are great people. Fun to talk to, great to converse with, my wife and I enjoy spending time with them at Iron and share meals with them outside of the gym too! We will be back every time we are at Myrtle

Fantastic experience: Honestly now probably my favorite gym. Perfect old school bodybuilding gym with a ton of character ane unique equipment you dont find at commercial gyms. If you love to lift and on vacation this is definitely the spot to go to week/day passes are perfectly priced and the staff is so friendly. Will be lifting here every time I come to myrtle from now on!

Fantastic experience: When I lived in Myrtle Beach, Iron Legacy was my home gym. When I return to the area to visit my wife’s family, I can’t wait to train at Iron Legacy. Out of the numerous gyms I have worked out at throughout my life, nothing compares to here. The mix of incredible owners, old school feel, and courteous gym-goers all contribute to this special feeling. The outstanding equipment is vast, a studio is available, and rates are fair. Iron Legacy is the best.

Fantastic experience: We just came to Mrytle Beach for the week and needed a gym to go to. If you reading this you probably understand how hit or miss this is on vacations. I'm going to give you the piece of mind to stop looking and drop in this one! If you want to keep those gains coming this is a decent size gym. Regulars are welcoming to you and have good gym etiquette! Old school iron weights and the drop in rate is not bad at all (I don't remember what it was but we didn't flinch at all, so I call it a win!) It may not be your home gym, but I guarantee if you lived here it probably would be. Definitely recommend to everyone and will definitely be my mrytle beach gym.

The welcoming people and abundance of equipment makes us what makes up this great gym. The 10 dollar day pass was easily the best 10 dollars i ever spent and the highlight of my beach trip!! Fantastic experience: LOVE IRON LEGACY! Joined this gym at age 49 with no experience and an abundance of intimidation and fear that I couldn’t do it. 3 years later I am in the best shape of my life as I have learned more than I can type in this space. Cardio, weight lifting, nutrition, all of it. Nancy Capp, owner and trainer, changed my life and I will be a forever member. The entire staff is friendly and helpful with questions and other members are as well. This gym attracts all types of people from serious lifters to beginners or just those looking for cardio. We all share a space with no judgment and with good spirit in reaching our own individual goals.

Fantastic experience: What a gem. Great staff and plenty of modern equipment done tastefully in the classic bodybuilding style (aka tried and tested). This gym has nailed the formula and I'd nothing less than a fanastic tribute to the classic Gold's Gyms of years past.

Fantastic experience: The only gym where I can lift the way I want to, wear what I want to , and train the way I need to. ( All of this is done in a respectful and appropriate way of course ) So many times you go to a gym and you get tied down with spending a plethora of cash and abundance of rules, but Iron Legacy does it the right way ..The price isn’t outrageous especially of your military , a first responder , or local and the rules are all responsible. The only dink I could give this place is the amount space but this is also what makes it so much better as a gym too and the cleanest and that’s really on the customers than the owners . Some people do not use theirs gym etiquette at times but it’s very minimal and as long as your practicing your own, their wouldn’t be a issue. Overall awesome gym !!!

Fantastic experience: The equipment at this gym is the best. I am going to miss the leg curl and leg extension that can be adjusted for short legs. The owners of this gym are so friendly and I enjoyed getting to love on their dogs.

Fantastic experience: Gym is absolutley awesome. Great atmosphere, good people, and a friendly staff that will go above and beyond for you at this gym. More of a serious lifter gym and that is what I like. Even if you are not a serious lifter the staff and members are always polite and friendly filled with great advice. The staff is very professional and flexible with monthly rates. I'm just in Myrtle for work and this is hands down my favorite gym in the area when I'm here.

Fantastic experience: Loved visiting this gym. They have a great blend of an old school gym and modern services. This is the most freindly and non intimidating staff of any gold's gym I have been to. For non gold's members they have the best daily or weekly rate in Myrtle Beach. If your looking for a great gym check them out.

Fantastic experience: I love this gym. Owner is very friendly and the place is STACKED with amazing equipment. I've got a shoulder injury right now that's been limiting my pressing movements but they actually had several machines there that allowed to to train full Range of Motion with no pain. I don't live in town but if I did, this would be my home gym

Fantastic experience: Sometimes it's hard to find a good gym while on vacation but this Golds Gym exceeded my needs! Very friendly staff, extremely clean, well maintained and they have some awesome machines that you dont see in many gyms anymore. All the members are friendly and it has a great atmosphere. My only disappointment is I cant train here more often!

Fantastic experience: Health and fitness are an important part of my life. The mind and soul are just as important as the body. This reason is why Ive chose Gold's Gym in Myrtle Beach. Since 2009 when I fell in love with this beautiful city one of my most favorite parts of visiting here is going to Gold's gym. I have trouble getting motivated in commercialized gyms like Planet fitness, LA etc. This is an old school real gym and you will most certainly get results. The family that operates this gym is great. So kind and full of knowledge pertaining to not just this industry but life itself. The bathroom is incredibly nice .Their dumbbells are the best, one cast iron and going up to 150 lbs+ and all iron plates. Most gyms have sold out and got the cheap rubber ones that are certainly not as effective. The equipment is well taken care of and Ive met some great people from all over the country here and some celebrities. No judgementalness. I'm from Philly and have been to all types of gyms, but this one takes the cake.-Mike Cameron

Fantastic experience: Visiting the Cherry Grove Beach area from Rock Hill, my wife and I decided to hit some heavy iron at this gym. This location is smaller than most Gold's Gyms I have visited from the Carolinas to California but is packed with a plethora of old school weight machines, which means I was able to fit my 6'10" frame in them. My wife found comfort in the dumbbells and machines as well. This is a true bodybuilder gym so don't expect an immaculate, upscale, brown-noser gym. The owners were exceptionally polite, especially Trey working the front desk. They also have some nice, reasonably priced t-shirts for sale, that have their gym location name.

Fantastic experience: Loaded with good equipment and machines for just about every muscle group! Dumb bells go up to 150 lbs. Cool people. T shirts/tanks, pre-workout, protien shakes, water, etc. sold at the front desk. Not a very big facility but great for people who take their workouts seriously. Definitely for PEOPLE THAT LIFT! If your looking for pretty colored walls and air conditioning on full blast this ain't for you....

Fantastic experience: The staff are exceptional, and the gym has a traditional feel and look. Not you're fancy country club, pansy ass place. It's what a real gym should be if you want to work out.

Fantastic experience: I've travelled all over the world for work and finding a gym away from home is always a hit and miss. But at least in myrtle beach I know where I'm going! This gold's is just like a gym should be. A mix of old school atmosphere but not too 'old'. The crowds is just my type. They lift and come to workout not play. They do a week pass (VERY reasonable!). All the equipment you need, always clean, weights in place and an owner and stuff that care. Congratulations gold gym myrtle beach. U rock.
