Fantastic experience: All I can say is WOW!! I went there for a group event and we had so much fun. We also had a chance to do some exercises with boxing sets. Even though I'm disabled, I was not gonna let this stop me from at least trying it out. The coach who worked with me was amazing and I was able to sit down and punch the sparing padded gloves he had on. I was able to box for about 15/20 mins before I had to stop. It was so HARD!! Lol!! But I'm so glad I got to try! It's definitely a great workout and a great way to let some frustrations out too! Lol! Not sure if I'm going to join (YET) because of some limitations I have, but this is definitely something I want to work up too doing for sure! The boxing coaches are so nice too! They showed us the correct stance. Lots of fun and plenty of exercise! If you want a place to exercise but with boxing, THIS is the place to go! Fantastic experience: By far the best gym I’ve been to. Coach Shannon is amazing and there’s a perfect balance in here. The other members of the gym are not weird (women know what I mean) and I feel like I’m learning so much. In two short months I’ve lost 20lbs I’m really getting challenged and I’m super proud of myself. Thanks to the amazing staff of MatchBout. I’m extremely happy to be part of the family.

Fantastic experience: MatchBout Boxing and Fitness facility is hands down one of the best fitness facilities on the East coast. In the past I’ve had memberships at large gyms and I’ve achieved “okay” results as it pertains to my fitness journey however, as a member of the MatchBout family I’ve achieved optimal results! The camaraderie, the judgment free atmosphere, the life long relationships that I’ve formed, and the knowledge that the coaches have is second to none! They hold you accountable, the push you when you can’t push your self and they celebrate you and your achievements... what more can you ask for!

Fantastic experience: Top notch fitness facility and trainers you can trust!!! I suffered a brain aneurysm and stroke and wanted to rehab with people I could trust. I was already coming here and seeing results. They were supportive and knowledgeable about what I needed to do to build my strength back. It is affordable training and can be customized to reach your personal goals. As long as I’m in Virginia, I won’t ever go anywhere else!!!

Fantastic experience: I live in Philadelphia, but on my recent visit to Virginia I was blessed with the opportunity to join my sis in one of her classes here at MatchBout. I must say, I thoroughly enjoyed myself! Shannon, who is the Coach was very personable and he took his time in explaining each exercise to my boyfriend and I who have never taken boxing workout classes before. By the end of the class, I felt so accomplished! I did exercises that I never even knew I was capable of doing...all thanks to the direction of Shannon! If i ever decided to move to Virginia I would definitely become a member of this gym! If you are looking for a gym with a very positive atmosphere and a coach that is willing to push you to become the best version of you, then this is the gym for you! This gym is a true gem!

Fantastic experience: I recently attended MatchBout for an event. Shannon and Mike were very helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly to everyone. The gym was clean and stations were set up. It was my first time there and first time attempting to box with gloves. I attended by myself and felt very welcome there. I met a great group of ladies and would love to go back again.

Fantastic experience: If you are serious about getting a good full body workout this place is worth it.The facility is clean, nice and staff was professional. My work schedule conflicted with the gyms hours but after speaking with the trainer, Shannon, he was able to work something out. No baby steps here, I came in for my first session yesterday from start got my heart rate up with some jump ropes and continued to do drills that targeted different areas of my body until finish. Don’t underestimate the sessions.

Fantastic experience: I love Matchbout! When I first started I was so nervous because it was my first time boxing, but immediately that feeling left when I got there! Shannon makes you feel comfortable and takes time to teach you, while making you have fun at the same time! And it doesn’t just stop when you leave! Shannon stays on me about my workouts lol! Even when I’m being lazy and miss weeks lol, Shannon will hit me up and remind me that I need to get back on it!! It’s not your typical gym. Everybody works out together while still being about to work at your own pace!! We have fun and GET THAT WORK at the same time!!!

Fantastic experience: I have been working with these coaches for a while now and I’ve received nothing short of proficient and inerrant service from both Shannon & Mike. They have both displayed the most professional, and dedicated form of training I’ve received in quite some time! I’m extremely impressed with how erudite and well informed they are with training, form, and weight discipline. I recently transitioned from a previous boxing gym and they have made the experience of transtitioning very congenial and delightful. Satisfied would be an understatement. Best gym around!

Fantastic experience: MY 13 year old son and 11 year old daughter have been workinging out with shannon for about a year now.... he’s so great with kids!!! They absolutely love it! Shannon has even focused some of the workouts for my son to help with footwork for baseball. He’s patient with younger kids yet pushes them to do their best. Fantastic experience: I always look forward to getting to Match Bout. Shannon and Mike will make you bring it. Awesome Boxing drills and workouts abound! These guys put together fun but HARD workouts. Workouts are always dynamic - they are great at mixing it up! Even if you have never boxed before they'll walk you through the basics, different combos and even get technical if you want. They will make you push yourself and get after it! Fantastic experience: I was told by my family on numerous occasions how good this is gym. I finally got to visit the gym when I traveled to VA. The expectation exceeded itself. The workout pushed me and really had me feeling good afterward. Shannon is a great trainer who caters your workout toward your goals. He is able to adapt easily and very knowledgeable guy. Fantastic experience: This place is awesome! I wondered why it was called a facility and not a gym since that's what you call places you work out at, I quickly discovered the reason its called a facility is that it goes above and beyond to help their customers. I walked in and was greeted instantly and I felt welcome, the people that work there are there to help you achieve your goals and work with you no matter the fitness level, they don't get mad but instead they help you and understand how to help you, they don't find times to show off and make you feel bad about yourself, they are there for you, and they are pretty good motivators, the ambience as great and everyone is ready to help each other including other members. This place is definitely worth the drive and even if you don't feel like getting that work that day, you can relax there, they treat you like family, no one else comes close to this place.

The best part is I am even allowed to rent the place out by the hour for my own workout classes instead of having my classes out at the park where bad weather cancels. Really recommend it.
