Fantastic experience: The perfect place to get in a work out on a day pass. A great mix between commercial gym, crossfit, and strongman. They even have specialty bars like an axel, Texas squat, and a deadlift bar. Members were friendly and welcoming.

Fantastic experience: Positive: Quality So glad I was able to work out all week at Assertive. Very well-equipped gym and good equipment to meet all your training needs. Chris and the folks who train there were all friendly.

Fantastic experience: Great gym for all ages and fitness levels whether the need is for personal training, physical therapy , group classes or solo workouts. Silver Sneakers yoga, stability and exercises also offered by Martha Morello, certified Silver Sneakers trainer. If you wish to treat your body to some great exercise in the New Year, give this gym/ fitness center a try. You will not be dropping out if you give this place a try!

Fantastic experience: I was looking for a trainer to help with some weak spots in my form. Chris did a great job in teaching me both the fundamentals of the movements, and more advanced variations. If you are looking for a gym or trainer and are in the Wilmington/Carolina Beach area, Assertive Athletics and Fitness should be your spot!

Fantastic experience: This gym is fantastic and super clean. The owner Chris is always willing to help and super friendly. Locals and visitors welcome. I never have to wait on equipment because there is at least 2 of everything. I really like how this gym is diverse with all ages and different people. They have a silver sneakers class and all the way to HITT classes.

Fantastic experience: We are New to the gym experience, but I have never felt so comfortable in a gym before(every other gym iv ever been in I felt uncomfortable and not welcome). The owner Chris is awesome, the gym is clean with topnotch equipment, literally anything and everything you need, he has. We got personal training sessions with Chris and have been so blessed by him. With his direction, encouragement, and knowledge of the body and workouts we have been able to really push ourselves, build endurance, and see results faster that I would have ever thought possible!

Fantastic experience: Great equipment. Helpful and knowledgeable staff. Super clean. I vacation in Carolina Beach with my family at least once a year. Weight training had become an important part of my life, helping me feel good and acting as my Zen time. I called around to various gyms on the island and stopped by Assertive to check them out. They took the time to give me a tour of the facility and answer all my questions. Their weekly membership was perfect and well worth the money...I actually feel a bit bad about how little I paid. They should charge more. Especially considering all the time Chris, the owner, took to critique my form and give advice (only when I asked for it). The only piece of equipment they were missing when I visited was a decline bench. However they were fine with me improvising by stacking some weight plates and propping a flat bench up on it. The staff left a note for the owner about the lack of a decline bench and I expect it to be a face-palm moment for him because they have every other bench configuration you could want.

Fantastic experience: Very clean gym with a wide variety of equipment including two squat racks and an area with bumper plates as well as cardio equipment. The owner was very helpful and knowledgable. The weekly rate was extremely reasonable. I will be back the next time I am at the beach.

Fantastic experience: We were in town at the beach and didn't find this place until the last day. One of the cleanest and most welcoming gyms I've seen. Very reasonably priced! Perfect for crossfitters, or any other athlete needing somewhere to train. Top notch equipment, felt like I was in a pro facility. Will be coming back whenever we are in Kure!
