Not only does the gym fit my budget but the one on one attention you receive, along with the knowledge that PJ shares with you is bar none. From first timers to professional fighters there this gym has it all and welcomes everyone no matter your skill set. PJ and his gym came highly recommended to me… and I highly recommend him to others

Fantastic experience: I mean what can I say except that this is the best Muay Thai gym in South NJ. I've been doing Muay Thai now for about three years and started out in San Diego and when I came back home to NJ the coach PJ Sweda who runs the gym took my striking to another level. My cardio is through the roof and I can "see" the combinations and things that PJ teaches me at a level I never thought I would attain so quick in my Muay Thai Journey. For as long as I'm in New Jersey you"ll catch me at SMT Academy. Can't recommended and rate this gym enough!

When i first came to train with PJ I had zero experience with Muay Thai and even though it was a little intimidating getting started, pj made me feel welcome from the first class. A Great group of people attend the classes with very little ego and pj never hesitates to help you when needed. From that first class, I was treated no different from the experienced members. I quickly found my place and I continue to learn from the best of the best. PJ’s experience and teaching style is unparalleled. It’s obvious that he genuinely cares about the progress of his athletes - from the pro-fighter to the 40-some, mom of three.

Fantastic experience: SMT is changing things for the people of south jersey. Because it's new to the area, we now have an outlet that offers kickboxing, self defense, and fitness basically in or backyards. Where else can you learn from a professional Muay Thai fighter and teacher, not to mention an international champion? PJ has been teaching and training kids, teens, and adults for years- offering practical knowledge for everybody. He reminds us that anyone can learn and almost importantly, he makes it fun.

Fantastic experience: Great training and awesome people. Before I started training with PJ I had been practicing Muay Thai and kickboxing for over 6 years. He showed me so many ways to clean up my game and make myself more affective in sparring. Whether you’re brand new or have experience, if you’re fighting or just looking to get in shape, SMT has great training.

PJ and Liz are extremely knowledgeable and make everyone of all levels feel extremely comfortable. Fantastic experience: Quality instruction from a professional fighter in my own hometown. Technique, discipline, and fitness. PJ teaches us the proper form, and explains the why’s behind each movement all while constantly challenging our mental and physical toughness. I always leave SMT knowing I learned something new, and knowing I got a strong workout in.
