Fantastic experience: AFAC is definitely the greatest gym in the area if not the world. I think it would be hard to find a cleaner or better maintained facility to work out in. All of my fitness goals in 2025 were exceeded thanks to this place and the amazing ownership. It's amazing how much better you feel after putting a full year of work into your body. I look forward to many more and you will find me at AFAC as long as I'm around here.

Fantastic experience: This is a great place to work out and clear your mind. The gym is always clean and everyone there is really nice, also not very crowded, so the equipment is always available! Iv been to plenty of gyms and this is by far my favorite one!

Fantastic experience: i started this gym 3 months ago and i love the atmosphere here mike and susan always do their best to make me feel welcomed by always saying hi and asking about how’s my day going aswell as providing snacks for us to snack on which is always a delight, i love coming every day knowing i won’t be judged and everyone sweet and welcoming here! definitely recommend this gym!

Fantastic experience: Adventure Fitness Athletic Club is my favorite gym that I have ever signed up for! It’s worth every penny. They have so much more equipment than a regular gym or recreational center, including but not limited to: monkey bars, maces, sandbags, ballet bar, and a rock climbing gym! There are also so many classes that you can sign up for. My favorite so far is Balance and Core with Susan. She’s so intentional about catering the class to all the different sports I do and even my work as a farmhand. It’s been so rewarding seeing that what I do here is healing old injuries and helping me maintain an active and fulfilling lifestyle. And the environment is very very clean and easy to navigate. They also have fully-stocked showers and a lounge area with coffee and snacks so you can get ready for work after an early morning workout. But what I appreciate the most by far is how kind and helpful all of the staff is. Everyone, from the owners Susan and Mike to the personal trainers, makes you feel part of a family and contribute to a mom-and-pop gym feel I’ve never experienced before at a generic/chain gym. Thank y’all for all you do!

Fantastic experience: I joined the gym a little over a month ago and could not be happier. The gym is super clean and has all the workout and recovery equipment you could possibly want. You can tell staff here care about the gym and about their members - they always say hi, remember your name, and recognize your hard work. This is a place where you can build community and feel like you are working out with friends. The personal training is exceptional. I started working with Darnelle right away and every workout has been 10/10. Darnelle really cares about your goals and works tirelessly to help you achieve them. I’ve had a lot of trainers over the years and can confidently say he’s the best. He is energetic, supportive, super knowledgable, challenges you, works along side you, and doesn’t let you give up when it’s hard. I look forward to every workout because I know it is going to make me feel strong and accomplished.

Fantastic experience: AFAC is a great option for your fitness goals. They offer classes, and there is a wide variety of weight machines and free weights available. For recovery, there is cryotherapy, a massage bed, and multiple areas for stretching. Friendly staff and multiple memberships options make this a very welcoming gym.

Fantastic experience: My whole family loves it here. So many options to get a good workout. My favorites are fight camp, and of course BOOTIE class they are great for all levels of fitness. The trainers Chris and April have been great! We also love Susan and Mike who made us feel so welcomed.

Fantastic experience: I was reminiscing on how far I have come this morning, and decided to write a google review when I realized I wrote one two years ago… saying I am not an avid gym goer. This gym has seriously changed my life! I said it two years ago and it’s even more so today. Everyone is so welcoming, kind and patient. I am proud to say I am an avid gym goer now! I work out 6 days a weeks and I am in the best shape I have ever been in. This gym gives you confidence, strength and community. I remember a couple years ago how intimidated I was going to a gym, I didn’t know how to use any of the equipment, was overweight and embarrassed. Fantastic experience: I'm from out of state and came back to Mike for the second time for Cryotherapy. He helped me go from not being able to pitch a full game ,to pitch a full game pain free, after just one session. He helped me along with some of my teammates get through our week long softball tournament. He also came in to give us sessions during off hours to ensure we would be good to go for our games.

Fantastic experience: This gym is the hidden gem I wanted to find years ago. As a small business, the owner and employees are incredibly friendly and love what they do. Everything is well maintained and clean, and they go out of their way to create an inviting place to work out and take classes. There's just about every piece of equipment and machine you'll ever need, and there are an amazing amount of classes run every day. The price is a little higher than most places like Vasa or Chuze, but the environment, lack of "gym bros", and community make it more than worthwhile. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a new gym.

Positive experience: Me and my son absolutely enjoy this athletic club. The best quality about this club is the open equipment. Whenever we plan to get a workout in, we could always find the piece of equipment open. This is an extremely clean facility. This club also has members that are friendly and most importantly not intimidating. The owner and her team are very helpful. Lastly, Chris is a great trainer. If you have the opportunity to attend one of his classes, you will be pleased and tired. If I had to give a couple negative marks it would be that the classes I enjoyed the most weren't offered when it worked for me. This is only a personal preference. Finally, the club prices are a bit elevated. However, this is a quality club and you get what you pay for (high quality).

Adventure Fitness Athletic Club not only has the standard equipment you’d find at other gyms such as treadmills, bikes, free weights and resistance machines, but they also feature boxing/kickboxing bags, powerplates, kettlebells, TRX, large tire flipping and smashing, medicine balls, rock climbing and a “jungle gym” where you can create your own workout. This doesn’t even begins to mention all the classes and hydromassage that are available. Most of these amenities are included with membership but if you want a little more there is even personal training and cryo can be added on separately. I have never seen a gym with so many options at such a fair and reasonable rate. So if you’re looking for a gym that has everything and even the kitchen sink (literally) check out Adventure Fitness Athletic Club Note: photos don’t include the massive “Riot room” that features room for classes as there was a class going on.

Fantastic experience: I live in Wheat Ridge and travel to AFAC in Thornton 3 times a week to workout. AFAC has a wide variety of workout equipment to use. If you prefer to be part of a workout group, AFAC offers various types of workout classes led by experienced Fitness Instructors. The AFAC facility offers members an enjoyable workout environment. Membership pricing is very reasonable. I highly recommend AFAC to anyone looking for a great place to workout!

Fantastic experience: I was a member for many years. We recently moved out of the area, and I have to say how much I miss Adventure!! Such a great environment to work out in! Susan and Mike are top notch, and they take great care of the gym. More equipment than you can imagine! This isn't just a place to work out, it's a community. I've done many of the classes over the years and Dave Mura's 5 am class is the best!! It's a great mix of HIIT, weight training, tabata and fun! Definitely try this gym!!

Fantastic experience: This Gym is amazing! All the equipment is like new with so many options for cardio, free weights or machines. They also have a hydromassage table that you can use unlimited with a gold membership! Heavy bags and a rock wall with Cryotherapy to top it off. Fantastic experience: I have been a member for about 3 weeks now and this fitness center is top of the line. It has any kind of weights needed to help you achieve your goals and a variety of cardio machines. Whether you are into bodybuilding, powerlifting, calisthenics, TRX or yoga, it has something for everyone. What separates this club apart from the rest is that it does not stop there. Between the group classes, indoor climbing wall, personal trainers and performance tracking system for weight, body fat, etc, this is definitely a place to check out. Everything I mentioned except for the personal trainers are a part of the membership along with (there's more) power plates, cryotherapy and possibly a few other benefits I may not be thinking of. Lastly, the staff are amazing individuals - kind, caring, respectful, professional and will welcome you in on your journey to improving your health. I highly recommend checking it out and give you my best wishes on your fitness journey!

Adventure Fitness gets an A+ in my book, and I envy the people in Thornton who can go here all of the time. Adventure Fitness has so many workout areas we can spend a month in there and probably never get to use everything available. There is a personal touch here you are not going to find at any other gyms, from delicous waters, hydromassage, cryotherapy, classes, good music, ameneties, shower, and so much more. Fantastic experience: Went specifically for Cyrotheraphy for fibromyalgia. Very personable staff, first place I've been to where they monitored my temperature and heart rate. I would definitely go back again. I love that I wasn't local and a membership wasn't required because traveling can cause me a lot of pain. They were everything I needed and so much more! Fantastic experience: The instructors are great and the workouts are engaging and appropriately challenging, but there are always modifications to optimize at every fitness level.
Fantastic experience: (2022)Mike was so great doing the cryotherapy for my daughter and her teammate. In town from NJ for softball and he treated them so well and gave great advice. We will be back next year for sure when back in town. (2024) Came back again from NJ and again Mike was outstanding. Even came in on Sunday when the business was closed to get my daughter in for cryo before her final championship play for softball. If we find ourselves back here in the future we will be sure to use Mike!

Fantastic experience: AFAC is an absolute 5x gym with 5x customer service. The equipment and opportunity to better your health is all in this gym! There are multiple classes and times to make your schedule work. Trainers/Coaches are professional, knowledgeable, and will help you accomplish your goals! I will be referring all my family & friends to Adventure Fitness Athletic Club.

Fantastic experience: Hidden gem! This gym has it ALL! Whatever your fitness level, preference, goals, this gym will meet your needs! Aerobic, CrossFit, free weights, machines, cardio, climbing wall, even a HydroMassage room! The absolute best gym I’ve ever experienced! Owners were warm & welcoming to give me a tour, knowing I was just in town for the day. Cannot wait to come back for another 3-hour visit!

Fantastic experience: I have recently joined this gym and all I have been thinking is why did I not join sooner. This gym is amazing! The owner, Sue is just a gem of a person and the gym itself is top notch. They have everything you could possibly need and then some. The space very clean and organized and I am so grateful to have found them.

Fantastic experience: So many good things to say about AFAC. Definitely one of Thornton's best kept secrets. For one. This gym is so well-kept and very clean and sanitary. The staff is very helpful, friendly and treats you like family. So many different varieties of workout classes available. And literally every piece of equipment you can think of.
