Fantastic experience: Had a pool pump to break in mid oct. Had to find one get it to Brunswick install and get water temp and level back up. All done in a short while. Exceeded expectations in this area. Thank you Y.

Negative experience: My Rating on this YMCA IS NULL AND ZERO THIS IS Absolutely the worst YMCA I HAVE EVER JOINED! Customer Service hung up on me! I called to cancel several months ago and they said i could NOT! Then they continued to bill me and auto draft my bank account! My card became compromised and so there could no longer be Billed or auto-drafted and i did not update. They proceed to say that i would be Billed monthly in a billing! Even after i have not even been in Brunswick 4 months! I called again to cancel and they proceed to say THAT THIS MONTH 2/2025 our policy is to cancel must be in handwritten notice and i will further be billed until that notice is on file! Therefore i am sending your handwritten notice! Although their rep on location hung- up the phone on me!!!! Super BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THE WORST YMCA EVER ! The facility hardly offers much of a YMCA!!! It needs to be UPDATED! and customer service should be trained to deal appropriately with clients and not hang up on us paying your paychecks with our funds! OMG!!!!!! Complete 0!

Positive experience: The YMCA has great potential, offering numerous services and a friendly, helpful staff. However, the equipment is old and in great need of repair or replacement. That said, the Y easily meets the needs of anyone wanting to improve their health and fitness, seeking social interaction, and summer fun and fitness in the enormous outdoor pool.

Positive experience: This wouldn't stop popping up for review, so after 2 weeks of sending a message that I did not go there I figured I would just give a 3 and move on.

Negative experience: If I could give zero stars I would. Sent my three year old and two year old to daycare here thinking they would be safe. I heard good things about the Y daycare center before I got them started there. Loved my two year olds teacher I will admit, but as for my three year old.. his assistant teacher hit him for not laying down during nap time. Her behavior was excused because she was “former military”. We had already paid ahead before this incident.. then when we withdrew them we never saw a dime back. Hundreds of dollars down the drain. Don’t send your kids here!!

Negative experience: I love being a member of the Y, both for the mission and the workout! But this Y needs new management. Broken items are never fixed. The last year, they’ve hardly had a single working bike. Nothing is ever really repaired, and certainly never replaced.

Fantastic experience: This YMCA has been really helpful. They allowed a group of Missionaries take showers there. Despite not being able to contact management about it, and employee (Jenna) was able to help us with the Missionaries being there.

Positive experience: Like the gym. It's okay. Teenagers at the front. Wish they would get the slide fixed or something more to do besides just swim. It's okay if you don't have a pool of your own.

Positive experience: The outdoor swimming pool steps were very unstable. They need to consider the elderly entering the pool. I became a little scared when the steps starting to wobble.

Fantastic experience: YWCA went out of business 12/31/2011. The YMCA of Coastal Georgia bought the YWCA on or about 1/3/2012 and it is now called the Golden Isle's YMCA of Coastal Georgia.

Positive experience: I really like the why I'm just disappointed that the hot tub is always broke down which was the main reason for me to get the membership. Hot tub does wonders for lower back pain and relaxing old sore tired muscles so I do hope it gets fixed and stays fixed.

Fantastic experience: My name is Matt Brown. I am not anonymous. I last lifted weights at the YMCA in Brunswick in 1993. I needed to lift today while visiting for work. There is no more functional gym in existence. There is nothing you need to do that you can not do in this facility. Free weights, Hammer Strength Machines cybex machines, a whole area for functional training and then another area with a complete line of machines for low impact training of every body part and multiple treadmills bicycles, cardio equipment the works. I was even in the computer from 1987. It was like coming home. Bless the management for keeping this sanctum of health and fitness pristine for nearly 30 years. Much appreciated

Fantastic experience: This is a great facility with two pools. The outdoor pool is Olympic size and the indoor pool is 25 yards. The facility is clean and the staff is friendly. The lobby and common areas have been updated with a fresh clean look. Safety measures are in place to reduce concerns for members. Face masks and temperature check at the entrance.

Negative experience: There is Zero evidence that Covid-19 can spread in an Aquatic Environment. I have seen studies that the virus is killed within 30 sec of contact of Chlorine Swimming pools. If the facility keeps the Chlorine levers at 3.0 PPM to 5.0 PPM then there should be no need to have one swimmer per lane. I would speculate that swimming is the safest sport in the Covid-19 era. Only thing worst than the Covid -19 Rules is the YMCA closing the indoor pool for the Thunder/Lightning. There has never been a reported death from a lightning strike within a Indoor pool. YMCA polices are to clean the deck. Once patrons clear the deck they enter the locker room where most take a shower. People have died within a shower. Next patrons will want to leave. People have died in the parking lot. Who is coming up with silly rules? -Long Time Past Member.

Positive experience: Has potential but lot of things out of order. Men's and women's locker rooms being remodeled. No indication of anyone actually working on them. Outside water slide broken. Spa broken. Again no indication of anyone fixing it. Was at a y in Erie pa and was so much nicer. Was kinda disappointed here in Brunswick

Negative experience: Chaos! That's what my child described his first day of camp. Lots of yelling and Adults yelling. He's going to try the rest of the week, and make a decision whether he wants to go back. Just the honest truth

Positive experience: I liked everything EXCEPT that the locker rooms were blocked off and there was only one restroom inside the main building. But overall I had a great experience

Negative experience: I was last at the ywca sometime between January and March 2021 btw and ppl make appointments then don’t show up to go to the pool all the time and y’all don’t give their reservations to other ppl who want to show up to swim. There are only 4 ppl allowed to swim in the pool within an hour’s time bc of social distancing this review is in reference to my previous review.
