Fantastic experience: Quality route-setting, professional atmosphere and staff, clean, and high quality all around.

Fantastic experience: Awesome staff! Great experience! Signed up for the learn to climb class with my bestie, we were warmly welcomed the second we walked in the door. Abby was our instructor and she was fabulous, she was super knowledgeable and safety focused. She also was so nice and super encouraging. There was a second staff member shadowing her, I can't remember her name, but she was also really awesome. We had a great time and definitely look forward to returning!

Fantastic experience: Great bday party spot. You have your own instructors and climbimbing wall away from everyone. We like they give u real climbing shoes as well.

Fantastic experience: Flowy with a great variety of TALL climbs (50ft walls). Plenty of room to do what you want even when it gets to the busier times. Shorter walls available upstairs (35-40ft) that still have higher grades along side lower grades.Ropes on every top rope anchor. Loads of training area, variable hang boards and counter weight pulleys. Large gear shop. Full size speed wall, but no other auto belay. One lengthy bouldering wall that doesn't have people walking all around or under you while bouldering, which is a huge plus compared to some other gyms. Love it here.

Fantastic experience: This is such a special place... I drive about an hour (passing no less than 15 other climbing gyms) multiple times per week to climb at G1. The gym itself, route setting, staff, and community make the commute 100% worth it! It's obvious that they really care, not just about the customers because of the pride that they take in keeping the gym clean and the routes fresh, but they care about the community by hosting numerous events throughout the year. I couldn't be happier that I found and joined G1!!!

Fantastic experience: G1 really is "The Hub"! Not only for the unparalleled indoor climbing, fitness and yoga classes, community nights and training amenities the gym offers but for the overall atmosphere in general. G1 has welcomed me since day one, literally the first day of it's existence, with gracious open arms and friendly smiles. I have forged significant friendships and strong bonds in G1 that will last a lifetime. These bonds go well beyond the walls of G1 as well. They extend to day climbing trips, weekend climbing trips and even international climbing trips with people who share a deep rooted passion for climbing and comradery. I have never met a more supportive group of individuals and cannot speak highly enough about Jason and his team nor this facility and the community that it unites!

Fantastic experience: Really nice gym, good route setting all around, and the staff is super friendly. Clean facility, solid regular work out room. Bouldering grades are super solid, top rope grades are a little soft in my opinion. Overall my favorite gym outside of downtown.

Fantastic experience: I love climbing at G1. The facility is new and clean, and the staff is friendly. The community is great too. My climbing is improving thanks to the support of all of my new friends at G1. Would give 6 stars if I could.

Fantastic experience: Awesome place! Very tall walls, very clean, nice ventilation system and a very friendly staff to round it out.

Fantastic experience: I've been indoor climbing since 1994, and G1 is absolutely too notch. The massive 50' walls make for an exciting climb. No more following colored tape for the routes; the holds themselves are the same color to indicate the route. The bouldering area is robust with many levels of difficulty. And even the onsite gym with weights, rings, tread, and rower can help build the extra layer of fitness that you want. Great place for beginners to advanced.

Anton Bundschu 1 year ago

Fantastic experience: The walls are taller than most of the gyms I've been to. 50 feet! Medium sized gym by today's mega gym standards. Very smart layout, especially in the finger board area. The staff were friendly and it has a welcoming atmosphere. The rainbow gym decals help get that message across. The owner took 10 minutes to talk with me about the old days when he was clearly busy doing other stuff. Can't wait to go back, just wish I lived closer.

Fantastic experience: An amazing facility. Fantastic staff, and great community. Has a 2-lane 15m speed wall w timers which is SUPERB on top of some amazing sport/bouldering walls with a great fitness center. Prime location near plenty of eats for post-climb and good parking availability. One of the best facilities I have visited in the US! Great work G1 team!

Fantastic experience: G1 is the best gym in the Denver area (after checking most other gyms out), so glad this place exists! The facility is clean, staff friendly and competent, tall wooden walls, offers everything you might need besides autobelays, although I'm glad they don't offer that.. The really outstanding part is the route setting. Really high quality and interesting routes, frequently reset, clean and interesting holds. This gym holds up to The Front in Salt Lake City, but with less crowds! Thank you!!

Fantastic experience: This gym is amazing. It has everything you need as a climber. Ton of fun and a great atmosphere.

Fantastic experience: Great gym, great staff. They gym is always kept clean, the staff are friendly. The routes are well rated and changed on a decent pace. The cave though is generally high 10's at the easiest. Only thing that could be better is keeping the ropes tied up but thats more on the climbers then the staff. Been members for over a year.

Fantastic experience: The instructors and staff were all so welcoming and helpful plus the facility was spotless. I loved coming here and taking the Intro to Climbing class. They really care about creating an inclusive community and it shows in everything they do

Fantastic experience: I have bounced around between pretty much all of the front-range gyms in my time here and G1 is by far the best gym in the area. I started up with them because my office was right around the corner, but even after switching to remote work I would not even consider swapping to a closer gym. The staff are friendly and approachable, the setting is consistently the best I've come across, the programs are very well organized, the facilities are constantly improving, and most importantly the community is incredibly welcoming: I have met more psyched climbing partners here in a couple of years than I have in my previous decade of climbing. Oh, potentially even more importantly they understand the joy of a nice cool gym...always sending temps ;)

Fantastic experience: My 15 year old son and I love G1! Every single staff member is extremely friendly and helpful. I took the learn to climb class and now climb with my son. I also take several fitness classes which are all different and fantastic - great workouts with knowledgeable, friendly, and fun instructors. My son often boulders alone and is already making friends with all of the adults (young and older) and knows several by name. The members of this gym are all incredibly kind and helpful as well and my son wants to spend more and more time at the gym. Finally, routes are changed and updated weekly and so my son is always challenged, excited to conquer existing routes, and also see what's new. We cannot recommend G1 enough. It is fabulous in every way!

Fantastic experience: I cannot express enough just how special G1 is! Aside from the excellent route setting, fully equipped gym, and exceeding standards of cleanliness, the sense of community at G1 is unmatched. You are always greeted with a friendly face as soon as you walk in the door, and there is never a shortage of people around willing to share beta, give you a catch, or encourage you on your project. G1 is the only facility I've been to that hosts such a large variety of top tier classes and community events. I drive from south Denver multiple times a week to climb at G1, and it is worth it every time. a huge thank you to Jason and his team for creating such a positive force in the climbing community!

Fantastic experience: I love G1! Started during the pandemic when all other climbing gyms required reservations, G1 was accommodating and welcoming! The facility is impressive and the routes are always diverse and challenging providing various levels of difficulty for every level of climber. I love the Boulder area too! Community vibe is great and the staff are all amazing! If you haven’t gone to G1 yet, you’re really missing out!

Fantastic experience: My family and I have been dedicated members of G1 for over a year now. The awesome staff, inviting environment, thoughtful programming and rock solid community is an essential part of our lives. No matter what we all want to accomplish is a session there are ready opportunities for my wife, my 8 and 10 year old boys and me any day of the week and any hour of the day. G1 is the whole package for those looking to capitalize on a one stop place for fitness and fantastic climbing.

Fantastic experience: I have nothing but good things to say about the coaches for the youth recreational teams. They are all amazing with the kids. They know exactly when to provide more support while also building confidence to do it on their own. Their exemplary support and teaching is invaluable for the love of climbing my kid has developed. Beyond the youth program, the gym is always clean and well ran. I highly recommend this gym.

Fantastic experience: Fantastic climbing gym! Thoughtful routes for every skill level. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Good mix of bouldering, climbing, campus boards, work out space, yoga and a dedicated physical therapist. The locker rooms were clean and I appreciated the "no climbing shoes in the bathrooms" policy. The location is great as it's next door to a really good brewery for after climbing beers. If you're lucky enough to run into the owner, Jason Haas, be sure to tell him thanks for all the work he did on the numerous guidebooks published by Fixed Pin. And especially tell him thanks for hanging in there and creating such an amazing climbing gym!

Fantastic experience: G1 is a great gym. I’ve been a member of 4 different climbing gyms in the Denver area and G1 is my favorite. The facility is new, well lit, and clean. The holds feel new and kept in good condition. The bouldering area is a bit smaller than other gyms (maybe 70-80% in area) but they make up for it by consistently setting 20 new problems per week, which is actually more than larger gyms I have been to. The setting is consistently high quality and creative. The setters do a great job of keeping an even grade distribution and keeping the grades internally consistent. They also have fully adjustable Kilter and Tension boards set up with the smoothest adjustment system I’ve seen in any gym. The lead/toprope area is of good size with a good rate of route turnover. Overall if you live in NW Denver this should be your goto gym.

Evan Deis 2 years ago

Fantastic experience: This place is awesome! The setting is well varied and we were psyched to see that there are female setters. The walls seem taller than the other gyms in the area, and I'm pumped to have it so close. The staff are really busy with the soft opening today, but they got us through quickly and were really nice. ⚡

Fantastic experience: Even if it wasn’t run by a great staff and helmed by CO climbing community stalwart and all-around great guy Jason Haas (Surprise! It is!) it would STILL have the tallest gym walls in America that make other gyms feel like the woody you tried to build in your garage that one Summer. They’ve done a phenomenal job of keeping a safe and fun facility during the pandemic and I applaud the G1 family for navigating unprecedented times with the utmost professionalism and grace. If you are in CO and enjoy world-class indoor climbing with an inclusive community of climbers of all ages and skill sets, come to G1.

Fantastic experience: Great gym with a local feel. Opened by a Colorado local who’s additions to the climbing community are many more than this gym. This place is clean with wonderfully friendly staff. It’s 5.fun on almost every route you’ll touch. The walls are the tallest you’ll find around. The coaches are knowledgeable and eager to meet your training needs. Not to mention the great yoga that comes with your membership. I approve.

Jaimee Reid 2 years ago

Fantastic experience: This climbing gym is great for beginners and experts all around. Be prepared though as they do test you on climbing/belay knowledge before you can get on the walls. No auto belay here. The bouldering upstairs is awesome and they also have yoga and a workout room! Staff is very knowledgeable and always helpful. If you're new to the sport I'd recommend taking the intro to climbing class. It's 2 hours and they teach you everything you need to know to safely get started

Fantastic experience: I've been going to G1 for the past year and I love the place. The facility is great, it's very new and has everything you want in a climbing gym. Great route setting, big lead walls, good variety of bouldering walls, great staff, easy to get to, and right next to a brewery for a cold one after climbing.

Fantastic experience: Killer, big, bright, •tall• modern gym in striking distance of many population and climbing centers on the Front Range, with an open floorplan and friendly vibe. For me, the main attraction was the route climbing: This feels like the tallest wall I've been on in a gym, and it has enough angle changes to keep the climbing feeling fresh and not monotonous, helped also by the varied, thoughtful setting. Clearly they have a very experienced setting crew putting up the routes, as the climbs have amazing flow but also integrate shake-out and resting points, much like real rock. (Boy, do I hate power-endurance sprints where you can barely let go to clip or where the clips are the cruxes—there was none of that BS at G1). There looked to be a clean, modern weight room, the bathrooms/locker rooms were clean and spacious, and there's lots of novice terrain too if you're teaching newer climbers. The upstairs area has a Tension Board and Kilter Board (sweet!) as well as a hangboard/campus board tower and a long bouldering wall, and some tables and chairs for hanging out. The bouldering was fun and varied, up notably tall walls (the padded floor was good and stiff and buoyant for long falls) with some interesting slab/parkour setting on the lower-angle terrain, and creative problems. I do think the harder (V7-on-up) problems would benefit from having more consistent movement and more footholds. At 5'6", I occasionally found myself bouted on what felt like morpho or reachy moves where a simple jib or two would have changed a problem from "impossible" to "hard but fun." But then again, I'm old and weak... Great gym, killer experience, highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: One of the best climbing gyms I have been a member of. They have a wide range of routes that are changed frequently. On top of that the yoga classes are a huge bonus.

Fantastic experience: I’ve never been one for gyms but my dad got me a membership here so I thought that I’d try it out. To my pleasant surprise, this place is great! It not only looks good and is clean, but has a lovely staff who really seem to care about you. The HIIT coaches are also amazing (I haven’t tried yoga yet). They always give progressions and alternatives and never look down on you, even if you’re new to working out. I hope they make it through this situation that’s going on right now. I know that I’ll stick with them!

Fantastic experience: I got the pleasure of stopping by here today and this place is awesome. I was torn between rope climbing and bouldering so I just had to do both! Everyone was super nice, staff very helpful and just a really great experience. I recommend this gym to anyone!

Fantastic experience: This is more a review for Kevin, the PT at The Climb Clinic. Unfortunately I suffered a wrist injury warming up at G1 when they first opened, but fortunately Kevin opened his office up here and I have to say he was amazing to get help from. In a half hour we started to diagnose what was wrong and began to make a plan for physical therapy. He seems incredibly knowledgeable in climbing injuries, did not try to oversell services, in fact quite the opposite. I would imagine he should be a good go to for anybody who places priority in a climbing specific PT.

Fantastic experience: This is a top-notch facility for rock climbing. I did a walk-through just to see what they had and I was very impressed, shout out to Bryan who did a fantastic job of explaining what the gym had to offer, and about rock climbing culture in general. I’ll be back for sure!

Fantastic experience: Beautiful new climbing gym... glad it's in Broomfield. And next to 4 noses to boot! First time in today - managers were very welcoming and explained everything I needed to know right off the bat. HUGE bouldering section and taller than average main walls. Fitness room was very nice too. Will definitely be back

Fantastic experience: I work at Evo and I do like it there, but g1 is really cool too! I'm a big fan of the bouldering setting. Haven't tried ropes yet, but they look great. G1 also has two hydraulic systems boards, both the tension board and kilter board. Huge hangboarding and campus set up, plus two 15 meter speed wall. It's a training paradise! I am most psyched about the competition sets, I hope they keep those coming :). G1 is sick folks, you've heard it here!

Katie Prendergast 3 years ago

Fantastic experience: G1 is an awesome climbing gym - great routes for both bouldering and sport climbing, a well-equipped weight room, and super friendly staff. There is even an on-site physical therapy practice, the Climb Clinic. I had the pleasure of talking with Kevin, the therapist, and he really knows his stuff. I highly recommend checking out G1. And bonus - it's next door to Four Noses brewery.

Fantastic experience: This is a world-class climbing gym! Staff was very friendly, AC was pumping the whole time, top-notch gym (Olympic weight lifting, rowers, treadmills, dumbbells, pull up bars etc) and they even have a PT on staff named Kevin who was incredibly nice. I do not climb often but I will 100% be returning G1 in the future and HIGHLY recommend this gym!!!

Jared Fehr 3 years ago

Fantastic experience: I've been excited about G1 opening and I had the opportunity to drop in for a bouldering session the first day they were open to the general public. First off the walls are strikingly beautiful. I never thought I'd say that about gym climbing! They are maybe a touch less abrasive than Walltopia walls which is fine by me. The main climbing walls are tall with additional 38 foot walls upstairs. You read that right. The bouldering area is great, has a nice layout, and the training area is particularly top notch with removable hang boards that can be swapped out, a tension board, kilter board, etc. The holds are all brand new, which means less grease factor and the occasional skinned ankle, etc. I seem to have walked away without fingerprints after my session, no complaints! I really enjoyed the setting, according to the staff all of their setters are Lv 4 setters which is a pretty high bar. I found the routes to be really fun and appreciated the mix of vertical, slightly overhanging, and significantly overhanging terrain. I was bummed that they didn't have any auto belays... but to be fair that's the norm in the area. The roped routes look really fun and I saw at least one 14.a route so there's plenty of climbing for moderate climbers to crushers. Other amenities are similar in quality, etc. to other bigger gyms (weight room with treadmills, yoga room, showers, etc.). Having a bathroom upstairs is pretty convenient. As a dog owner I appreciate that their parking is largely on the north side of the building but since parking spots are farther from the building it might be hard to catch shade during midday. Bottom line - this is an awesome gym and you should go climb there!

Fantastic experience: An amazing climbing gym in an easy to access location. Had a great time climbing at G1. Came down from Fort Collins for the day to check things out. The staff was super friendly and helpful, shout out to Nash. Quick and easy lead test. The sets are solid and there is plenty of variety and climbing between ropes, boulders, and system boards. We were only on the ropes and loved everything we tried. The workout area looks killer, with plenty of equipment to keep #swole. 10 out of 10 would recommend.

Fantastic experience: Want to climb around friendly, supportive staff in a state of the art climbing establishment that serves as the home of some of the best route setters around? This is the gym you're looking for. The gym is extremely clean, and staff make a point to get to know you and make sure you have what you need to send your hardest. G1 is definitely my new favorite gym along the front range!

Fantastic experience: AWESOME gym with really great routes! The setting was impressive, especially for just opening. The staff were all very friendly, too. It was super quick to get a lead test and rope, even when they were slammed. Right next to 4 noses brewery, which was amazing to hop over to after climbing. It was also really nice that they had free admission for their opening... it seems that they care about getting the community involved and excited. We will be going again 100%.

James Varush 3 years ago

Fantastic experience: I think this place is overall amazing. The staff was very interactive , helpful and friendly even walking around giving beta to those who wanted it. I have very few complaints and they are as follows. The metal wall to the left of the tension and the metal cross bars to the right of the kilterboard need to be padded as they are serious safety concerns especially the tension. The gym is very new so the pads are super stiff and feels more Stiff than most crash pads. The final downside was the lack of a pinchblock or grippul device for training near the outstanding interchangeable handboard/campusboard setup.

Trent Smith 3 years ago

Fantastic experience: Top notch facility with the ability to train at the highest level in every climbing discipline. Great setting team as well. The Climb Clinic, the in house physical therapy, is also a great resource for any movement deficit, and is unmatched in climbing specialty injuries.
