Fantastic experience: Best gym in Brockton, Ma. If you want to become a competitive weightlifter/powerlifter...COME HERE and ask for Ed. Update: Gym has begun to establish a new community of competitive bodybuilders. This gym is growing. Bodybuilders in the South Shore are catching on.

Negative experience: I was a member of Centre City Gym for over a year. During last visit for a quick workout before closing, I was repeatedly asked to pay, despite not realizing my membership had expired. While I was working out I was approached three times regarding payment. After my workout, I went to fetch my credit card intending to resolve the issue, but was followed by two staff members and asked again. This left me feeling uncomfortable. When I returned to pay, I overheard the same individuals making comments about people spending money on other things instead of gym memberships. Despite this uncomfortable experience, I still paid for the renewal. However due to this experience, I will not be returning.

Fantastic experience: Centre City Gym is a great 'no nonsense' gym with everything you need. The community is very friendly and helpful and the owner Ed goes the extra mile to learn everyone's name and greet them whenever they arrive. Don't be intimidated by all the 'big guys' you see going in and out. They are some of the nicest people you will ever have the pleasure to meet! Stop by and give this place a try, and you just might love it there as much as I do.

Fantastic experience: Best gym in the area. It’s proper gym with proper weights. Plenty of racks and chalk for those that need it. No one will be monitoring your noise levels here. Lots of knowledge in this gym and equipment that you will not see in other gyms. Everyone is welcome, a great community environment. Try this gym and you won’t go anywhere else.

The owner Ed is the most knowledgeable trainer for whatever you want to know. This is a great gym where you can get in a great workout at an affordable price.

Fantastic experience: Stopped in because I was visiting from out of town and needed a place to deadlift. I love old school, warehouse like gyms like this and Center City is a great example. The owner must be some sort of unhinged collector of machines. Plenty of equipment, including machines I'd never even seen before, space for all the lifts, high weight dumbbells, specialty bars, solid jump boxes, it's great. I'm particularly jealous of the belt squat and reverse hyper, two unusual pieces usually only found in performance or powerlifting specialty gyms. They appear to have a powerlifting team with at least a couple guys putting up 700 kilos, and gear for olympic lifting. Unsure if they had a shower or not, as I didn't need to use it. I went in the morning and had no issue with other lifters, I'm not sure how busy it gets later.

There’s also some cardio, boxing and a room for stretching. I’ve lifting here for over 4 years and despite moving and a longer commute, I still train at Centre City!

Fantastic experience: Its official. Retired military and traveled all over the world. I moved from Massachusetts to Texas and hands down no B.S.. Centre City Gym is the absolute best. If you want to be a beast hang out with Ed and the crew. If not, stay on the porch and let the big dogs run the yard. Thanks Ed for all you do and I promise to visit again just to get back some sanity and feel like your Big Dogs. I love and miss the team. Keep showing the world how it’s really done.
