Seven Hills Recreation Center

Negative experience: I had a birthday party on December 7th for my son. We were just disappointed all around. Every other rec center allows to pay for more time except yours, 2 hours is not enough time at all. I only had 30 chairs and when I signed paper work I clearly signed for 50. So some of the parents sat in the pool area. There was also another party on the opposite side and kept walking through our side to see the pool during the whole duration of our party, I finally had to get up and say something to them. I used to be a resident of seven hills, and used to have birthdays here but this party was rushed , interrupted and not exciting at all. Your rec center needs to be organized, and more involved. I will never return again.

Positive experience: I’ve belonged here for a month now. It has some positives but really depends what you’re coming here for. The pool facilities are surprisingly nice but they have only two showers for the entire place, bring your own shampoo too… the basketball courts are very nice and well maintained. The weights area is small and lacking equipment like a squat rack, but they did just upgrade many of their machines and are nice to use. The gym portion clearly caters to the elderly. The bathrooms upstairs consistently smell of urine. Roof leaks only add to the dated appearance. There is a small yoga studio that is rarely used and has some nice/clean equipment. Overall with some committed leadership and funding this rec center could be something to be proud of, but as it stands in its current condition I’m unimpressed and probably won’t renew my membership next year.

Fantastic experience: I want to thank everybody who made this facility and keep it going. You all have your act together and are doing the Lord's work. Seven Hills Recreation Center meets the therapeutic needs of every member of my family. The people who work here are wonderful. I feel like I'm at my relatives' rather than the feeling of being at a government-run complex like who's name I won't mention but initials start with a "Y".

Positive experience: The pool is nice (though people will just wander across all of the lanes, even if you're in the process of doing a laps. The lifeguards don't seem to care), the workout areas and gym are nice, but the locker rooms are gross. The men's locker room smelled awful, with multiple unflushed or backed up toilets, and the tops of all of the lockers were dusty and corroded like they haven't been wiped or cleaned in months. My wife had a similar experience in the women's locker room. Not to mention people just leave their sopping wet trunks and clothes on the counters and on the floor.

Positive experience: Nice place overall, it's kind of expensive to get in if you don't live in seven hills. It was perfect for toddlers and little children that are just learning how to swim.

Fantastic experience: The basketball courts are amazing waxed 2 full courts with 4 side hoops on each and is usually not packed with a lot of people

Positive experience: 5 stars for having a nice pool facility. 3 stars for pool availability. You can’t expect to come in at any time and use the pool. You’ll have to work around classes and busy times. This leads to some wasted trips, but typically evening hours are the best bet for a lane being available. Wish list: 1) one month membership option 2) stricter pool lane time limits. 3) one swim lane available by reservation

Negative experience: Super disappointed! I have a 14 month old who I signed up for swim classes. I wanted her to know basic safety for when summer comes around again. My friend and I signed out daughters up and our other friend planned to join us in January. I made it to 2 sessions and never returned. It is so cold in there! When I sent an email in concern I was informed the water was 84 degrees. Well if it is, then the air is too cold. There were children shivering and chattering their teeth! My friends 18 month being one of them! The age of this class is 6 months to 3… they get cold easily. So I was also freezing and am fat so what does that tell you? Then when taking out children to the changing rooms they were also freezing! So that means there is no place in the facility warm after getting wet for us to keep them warm. So until I can get my daughter dressed she shivers. You can barely hear the instructions and it feels super disorganized. When I brought the at up I was told I should have told the instructor. So I unfortunately had to take a loss because my daughters wellness is most important.

Fantastic experience: A great rec. center. Another good reason to live in Seven Hills. University Hospitals has a physical therapy department here.

Negative experience: Don’t waste your time. Everyone is extremely rude and short when you’re trying to book an event at one of the city lodges. Very unprofessional.

Positive experience: It’s alright. The gym is nice and i like how it’s not crowded just the fact that it’s super expensive to bring my friends from other city’s. I’ve seen from the reviews that for their friends it’s 10$ but mine have to pay 15$?? For a day??

Positive experience: Just went in for membership info as a Parma Resident. Wish they had a better deal for grandchildren coming with a grandparent

Positive experience: Pretty unspectacular as far as rec centers go. No outdoor pool. Not a lot of gym equipment. Pool hours are pretty limited. Lacks a good high speed indoor track. Pricing is kind of high for what you get. A lot of the guests seem unfriendly. The staff is kind and helpful, but usually just a high schooler or two at the front desk. On the plus side .. its close? Its clean and there is plenty of space in the locker rooms .

Fantastic experience: Nice place. Small and in need of more equipment. When a machine goes down in can literally take a couple months to fix. Good atmosphere that caters to the older crowd. All in all a decent gym Update: rejoined after living South for a year. Great new equipment and a good value for what's offered

Negative experience: Unfortunately my city, Parma doesn't have a rec, so I decided to join Seven hills and was disappointed, heavily. We were excited to find a rec nearby providing our essentials, a bball court and pool. We planned to use this often and didnt get to much, except a handful of times in the past year. The basketball court and pool are very frequently taken for classes. You should at least move the silver sneakers/other classes that have nothing to do with bball to another part of the rec, like the room near upstairs that your staff says is always open. Plus we have to call everyday we want to play bball to make sure it's open. Such an inconvenience, especially when sometimes there's a random class when we were told the court would be available. Last time I called and was told there was half open court, the old ladies for some silver shoes class got mad cause they couldn't hear their class on the other half court. WHY IS THERE AN OLD PEOPLE CLASS (OR ANY NON BBALL CLASS) IN THE BBALL COURT The bball court should be used for....idk...basketball?? Same for the pool. When I went, only the 3 ft end was open while another class took over the deep end. Wish the staff let me know this when I had called that day to check. I wasted my time standing in the 3 foot. How can adults swim in 3 feet? The slide wasn't even up and running either for use and the ONE TINY hot tub taken the whole time I was there. Just a waste of money if the things we paid for, we can't even utilize. We won't be renewing our membership this year. My boyfriend and I wasted $385 to rarely get to use the court and the poolChanges should be made, especially for the court since I've read and heard many complaints on this.

Negative experience: Nothing here for us people who work from 8-4 due to the tons of classes going on after 4pm. Looks like we paid our membership just to keep this place open, so the ones who pay for classes can enjoy all the benefits. The pool lanes and the basketball courts are only a dream for us who paid the membership. My advice, don't waste your money and time on this place.

Negative experience: The basketball hoops are never open there’s always daycare or full court pick up games. The staff is incredibly rude and not helpful at all, if it was up to me I’d fire everyone in that place. I tried to take my friend in there as a guest and you have to pay $10 freaking dollars do go in there if your a guest. I tried taking him in there and they interrogated me of where he and I lived and both our personal address’s and phone numbers even though I already had a year pass. I don’t pay $300 a year anymore for extremely rude and disrespectful staff and never be able to play basketball because of the stupid day care or full court basketball games. Cost way to much for what you get overall a terrible experience, the price, the dumb rules and the rude staff just find another Rec to go to and you’ll be much happier.

Positive experience: I wish the water was a little deeper

Positive experience: I have always spoken very highly about 7hill recreations aquatic program and I would give the program 5 stars but until now I can not. The lower levels are a solid 5 out of 5 but the swim team level for those still learning is not where it should be.. the young lady that teaches on Saturday is too busy trying to be everyone’s friend and talks to the other works more than she pays attention to the kids. She does NOT work with the kids on proper breathing techniques or stroke development.. they are all learning bad habits. The 2nd thing that drives me up a wall is she doesn’t show Or explain what circle swim is so all the kids are not colliding mid pool… which happens 90% of the time. At this level I just really expected them to focus on proper stroke development. Perfect breathing techniques. And build stamina.. and the ONLY thing they are learning is stamina because they do swim for a solid hour, even if they are letting bad habits set in… sigh

Positive experience: i went to homedays here and they were kinda letting anyone into the rec so i explored a bit. pretty nice place. apparently the yoga room is only for women according to a worker which is a little weird but i’m a woman so i guess i don’t mind. pool was nice, looked like a nice rec center overall. there were a lot of cops when i was there and some rumors goin round but i’m sure that’s not a year round occurrence.

Have access to indoor track weight room swimming and various programs. Has recently updated their fitness machines. Comparably small to other locations but does have a good compliment of machines. Walking/running track in good shape

Fantastic experience: Great value. The indoor pool is large and well maintained. Lots of shallow to medium deep areas for kids with water sprayers. Basketball courts, cardio and weight equipment is also available. There is an indoor track as well for running or walking.

Negative experience: The worst summer camp. Teenagers taking care of small children? The counselors never helped my young child with bug spray or sunscreen. They take the kids to play in the woods with ticks and mosquitoes. No supervision. Bullying allowed and too many children of different ages playing together. I would never send my child again. I wish I wouldn't have pre payed because I wouldn't have taken her back after the first week. Ill look into the YMCA or middleburg hts for next year.

Positive experience: Great pool. clean facilities. Some of the staff are kind of knuckleheads. For example: as were leaving and theyre closing. They locked my 7 yr old and several of her friends in the changing/locker rooms. Accidentally...but a lack of common sense.other than that a great experience.

Positive experience: It’s a nice place to swim and play basketball but the second you get into the pool area, the life guards are the meanest teenagers I have ever known. When it was break time, I asked the life guard when the pool would open back up and he shrugged, rolled his eyes and walked away. Then, I asked the next life guard that passed and she said, “Umm... it should be soon maybe hopefully,” then walked away without another word. Why hire rude people?

Negative experience: It's a nice place to swim and have fun but the life guards are rude and tend to ignore people. For instance I am typing this while at the rec and my friend asked a life guard when the pool would open and he completely ignored us.

Positive experience: Its very dusty. Don't look up. When they close each year for a week complete cleaning does not seem to be included. However everyone there is very nice and the facility has a good variety.

You have to ask to have the fun stuff turned on and suddenly the real life waterworks are everywhere and it's a true oasis for kids of all ages to have a grand time! Wish I had photos of those in full effect - the huge twisty slide is also super cool, but height req's leave the shorties on the ground! Best of all was finding how cheaply you can purchase day access to this indoor waterworld! Best in town by far!

Fantastic experience: We had a wonderful time at the fallfest. The face painter was great. The line moved quickly and she did a fantastic job. The farmer's market was wonderful. We found ghost peppers 8 for $1. It made my husband's day. The pumpkins were only a $1 and you got to paint them. The crafts available were beautiful. Everything was set up lovely. We all had a great time.
