Master Gardziola is not only skilled in teaching the kicking and punching techniques inherent to martial arts learning; she is also great at instilling confidence, discipline, and respect, all while providing students with a safe and fun learning environment!

Fantastic experience: Our son has been going here for several years. Over the years he has really improved in his skills and confidence. He has progressed through the belts, and we appreciate all of the hard work that the different instructors have done. I can truly say that he is a better person because of Asian Sun! If you have a concern, or request your voice will be heard, you will not be just a number!

Fantastic experience: I've gone to a lot of taekwondo schools in the 20-ish years I've been involved in martial arts, and you won't find one more professionally run, knowledgeable and community-focused than Asian Sun. The Broadview Heights location is stellar: the instructors are engaging and focused on the improvement and learning of each student. Even in large classes, you get individualized attention and specific feedback. Just a totally top notch place for taekwondo!

Fantastic experience: Master Anja Gardziola not only has this amazingly successful competitive Taekwondo background, she has the kindest heart and is the most patient with everyone she meets. She is the first female head instructor of Asian Sun and I am all about the girl power she brings! She is a fantastic teacher and has a very commanding, respectful presence in the classroom. We are super excited to have her at the Broadview school!

Negative experience: Asian Sun in Broadview Heights was awesome until this week. The former teacher Master Plain was awesome with the tiger tots!! He was commanded respect yet the tiger tots learned a lot and really had fun. The kids used to be engaged the entire class.The new teacher that started this week has made going to Asian Sun unbearable. There is far less skills being taught to the tiger tots now then with Master Plain. Class now consists of students sitting for much more of the class with a major underutilization of the other helpers in the class. In the past students would be broken into groups based on ability and split between the different teachers. Now the other teachers just sit with the students as one student at a time is participating in an activity. Honestly I believe Asian Sun could go back to being a great place for tiger tots however not with the current teacher. Update: I am glad we received a refund and can move on to a new place that will continue the progress we saw under Master Plain. The owner seems like a nice guy, but he is blinded by his loyalty to the new teacher. Yes the new teacher has many accolades in the martial arts world, however that does not make you a good teacher or coach. I am very thankful for everything Master Plain did for my son! I know we will not find another Master Plain. I wish him all the best as he moves on unfortunately for Asian Sun I believe many other people will now leave now. I truly believe the new teacher could have learned a lot from Master Plain when she shadowed however her ego got in the way. Update 2: The owners wife has emailed me and said that this review is mean and heartless. They continue to throw the previous instructor Master Plain under the bus to say he did not teach the way they do at the other 8 locations. What is currently being taught is not near the level of what the tiger tots class used to be. I stand by my review 100%.

Fantastic experience: The head of the school Master Plain is a very nice person and the school is a respectable family place. I had gone there for a free 6 week trail. My first impression was misdirect as the desk lady was out sick and the class was letting out late that day so I nervously left as I'm a nervous person due to trouble some events in my life. The next visit, I was extremely Impressed. Knowing I left the first time, Master Plain was attentively watching for me to enter the doors. He greeted me quickly and the 20 minute tutorial was more of a private hour long class off to the side with one on one attention. If you explain to Master Plain your troubles and concerns they will oblige courteously. I Sadly could not continue the trial or class due to my new work schedule being not what I thought it would be. This is not an MMA class but it is Great to learn the Martial Art of Taekwondo, respect, and self control. You can achieve a Black belt in under two years and given the 6 week trail many costs were waved and the price is more than fair for a martial arts school. It is also in a good neighborhood.
