Negative experience: I joined this gym in January and dropped out in July because I was writing to another one that was closer to my house. When I went to cancel, a week before the next month was due, they said they were going to charge me anyway. But that's not the case. The fact is that the month wasn't charged; supposedly, the card that charged them every month didn't want to go through, and three months accumulated. It completely damaged my credit. They put me on Datacredito, which caused me great damage because I have a small company and now I'm limited thanks to these people. I would never recommend it.

Negative experience: If it wasn’t for my Wellhub pass, this would be the last gym I choose to go to! Not only is the staff super unhelpful and always in a bad mood, they love blasting their music at certain hours and I end up leaving with a headache. It’s a gym, not a concert venue! Also, please do something about your gnat problem — it’s truly annoying to exercise with gnats flying all around me and landing on the machines.

Positive experience: Pros: They’re always cleaning! Shoutout to the cleaning staff, they’re always on it. Decent selection of equipment Decent location right off the highway The women’s showers are awesome The sauna is also awesome They recently expanded the space by reclaiming a court which helps a lot with the space Cons: Good luck getting a workout in between 5-8pm. You’re fighting 100 other people for equipment.. The space isn’t small but for how many people there are here…it’s rough out here Some dumbbells are old/worn out and you are pretty much just guessing the weight based on vibe Lots of the lockers have locks that don’t seem to budge day to day Overall, I think this location is doing it well. The employees are always friendly, cleaning staff is putting in work, and clearly it’s working because my biggest issue with this location is how many people are using it.

Negative experience: I have a travel pass from another crunch, and when I’m in the area for work, I sometimes go to this location. The other day, an employee stopped me and said something about a “peak” and told me I couldn’t use the gym. No one had ever mentioned this before, and she didn’t even offer me the option to upgrade or for a day pass. The worst part? I had just taken my pre-workout and then had to leave, which left me jittery and frustrated. I was so upset that I ended up canceling my entire membership. What happened to good customer service?

Negative experience: I wish there was an option to give ZERO starts. Management does a poorly job. Customer service is awful, the manager doesn’t care about the customers. I do not recommend this gym. If you have the chance to go somewhere else PLEASE DO.

Negative experience: Sleezy staff and overall vibe. Left my headphones on the locker room bench while I peed and someone took them. Checked lost and found but nada, scoped out the gym from the second floor when I saw some tool wearing them. Went to the front desk and the guy I spoke to was up in arms at first enthusiastic about confronting the thief until he saw it was his friend… then he told me they were in fact returned to lost and found but his friend “forgot his” and asked to borrow a pair from lost and found lol… Went to this location since it was an eclipse and it’s lost all its warmth, should have known as soon as they packed double the machines to squeeze every dollar out they can

Negative experience: Was a member for around 4 years because unfortunately there wasn’t much better in the area. Gym was almost always overcrowded and not cleaned much. Cancelled on June 23 with the paperwork that says so and they are still trying to charge me a monthly fee in July. Highly suggest just going to another gym

Negative experience: Rude people in gym keep playing loud music on phone in the tight spaced sauna and steam . Like keep your phone quiet or have your buds on. Gym should have some rules for these behaviors or have signs up to keep it quiet for these kinds of idiots. Mostly after 8-9pm

Negative experience: How is it that there are so many bad reviews of management, and there is nothing done? Naming the manager, BY NAME, in multiple reviews clearly indicates a problem. Negative experience: I have no problem with gym. The only problem in this particular location is that if you are a women the Manager Josiah and some of the trainers make you feel very uncomfortable. It’s very uncomfortable, and unprofessional as a women to try and get a good workout while the managers, and trainers are trying to interfere and as questions that are none relatable to the gym membership or the workout. Nice gym, but very unprofessional stuff.

Negative experience: Crunch Green Brook since it transitioned from Eclipse has provided a horrible member experience. If you work a 9-5 job and want to work out after hours, good luck finding parking—the available spots are extremely limited. The gym’s cleanliness is another issue; there's a noticeable layer of dust under the weight racks that never seems to get cleaned, and the blue turf area is also very dirty. While most of the equipment, including the dumbbells, is the same as it was during the Eclipse days, membership dues have increased, with the gym citing rising operating costs. It's frustrating to walk into the gym at 5:00 am and find weights scattered all over the floor, with dumbbells out of place. This seems to be a common problem, especially considering that trainers will scold members for not re-racking weights, but then leave weights on machines while training clients. The manager is incredibly rude and argumentative when calling in with an issue that was their fault pertaining to billing the front desk placed me on hold and when he finally answered sounding annoyed, I advised asked to speak to him after receiving two different responses which he claimed was me giving him attitude. His demeanor was consistent with the other negative reviews about his behavior which is funny because all reply's to those reviews claim the ownership plains to address this issue with him. The previous manager Nick was always pleasant to deal with and helpful. Amazing how this guy has a pattern of treating the members yet does not get addressed by ownership. It’s clear that the gym is more focused on gaining new sign-ups and boosting its social media presence than on providing a good experience for its members.

Negative experience: Off of first appearance it may look nice from the outside, but there are stink bugs, and other insects crawling around inside. Not to mention, my wife has been going there since it was eclipse. And NEVER had a problem. They hired a trainer by the name of “ Sammy “ that continuously looks at my wife and ask her if she needs personal training when she’s told him multiple times before she is not interested. He’s even going out of his way to give His number. This is not professional at all and reflects on leadership and ownership! We’ll never be going Back to the gym.

Fantastic experience: My home gym and the gym I teach yoga at!!!! Super clean, front desk staff is THE BEST! (Emily, Marcus, Keyshawn) the sweetest people out there. So many class options and so many machines. They split up their machines so if you don’t feel like doing cardio in one place, you’ll find a machine elsewhere!

Negative experience: Never write negative reviews but it is warranted when the management is not good and rude. Other reviewers have had a similar experience as well, the manager is a severe issue here. If you have the option I’d recommend going to crunch Somerset instead as the staff there is friendly, or going to a different gym all together. The equipment is also old and worn down, especially compared to other locations across NJ/PA.

Negative experience: I just left Crunch Fitness in Green Brook, and I have to express my disbelief at the poor customer service I encountered. As a member of Crunch Fitness in Woodbridge, where I work out, I’ve always appreciated the fantastic staff and environment there. When my wife told me about the Crunch Fitness location near us, I decided to check it out. I got ready, headed out, and expected to try the gym. Upon arrival, I discovered it was a "SELECT" gym, requiring a different membership. I asked the front desk associate, Eddie, if I could work out for a day to see if I wanted to sign up. When I confirmed that I was serious, he dismissed me and said I couldn’t work out. This response was completely unacceptable. I requested to speak with a manager, but Eddie told me no manager was available. I insisted that he call one, but he refused to do so. At this point, I was incredibly frustrated. Coming from a welcoming gym to this was astonishing. Another associate approached, and I explained my situation again, but he offered no assistance, so I walked out. I rarely write negative reviews, but I felt compelled to share my experience. I never got the chance to see the gym or its facilities, but my review reflects the customer service I faced. I will not support a gym that treats its community and potential members in such a dismissive manner.

Positive experience: This particular location was large with a variety of equipment, however outdated or old. Still workable. I found it to be rather crowded for a Tuesday late morning/early noon. Really crowded, a lot of traffic in there.

Positive experience: Wouldn't consider it "signature" given that most of the equipment looked like a random assortment of machines pulled from multiple gyms existing from the 80s to present day. My home crunch had a sauna with payment of $9.99/month. Was surprised to hear it was $40+ to use this gym with the addition of a juice bar. Spacious in most areas except the dumbbell section. Got the job done, but expected more from a signature gym

Negative experience: The manager Josiah was completely unhelpful and unaccommodating when I was unexpectedly told that I couldn't work out at this club despite having a multi-location membership and having worked out several (20+) times at this club already for a few years. I drove out of my way to go to this gym but couldn't work out there with my current membership due to having the "base" membership, while this was a "select" club. He refused to give me any sort of discount on the day pass rate, which was $15 for the day. He said I could drive to Somerset location, which would've taken 30+ minutes, since it was rush hour. After I told another member about my issue, the member agreed to let me use his guest pass. Josiah gave him a hard time about that too, saying company policy blah blah, eventually giving up and allowing the guest pass when the other member got frustrated with him too. Josiah is a poor manager that needs to be right to all costs instead of doing what is fair for the customer/his gym. There was no way I was paying $15 for a day pass. His gym would've profited more charging me $5-$7.5 discounted price than me leaving for the other location or going as a guest as I did. Also, clearly he is not training/supervising his staff well if no one mentioned I shouldn't be working out at the club after scanning in there for over a year. I'm never going back here for obvious reasons, but the reviews saying it is dirty are also true. This is the worst kept Crunch location I have been too, which was unfortunate given that it has the sauna.

Negative experience: You pay what you own and they keep on charging you without any answer when you call asking why they keep on charging you if the aacount is not even active ! Personal training program sucks , they don’t ask you if you have any fracture or anything that they need to take into account besides that not even a start as a beginner personal training canceled last minute and after all even him contact me to tell me he was not there anymore , they didn’t even inform me about it , just a dry call no adjusting to your schedule you are paying and you have to accommodate your schedule to them so funny and at the end keep on being charge even though you not even receiving any call to take the class

Negative experience: Beware: Scam Alert I signed up for a trial membership, but things quickly took a turn. Despite providing credit card details for the trial, they deducted money without authorization. I had requested cancellation before the trial ended, confirmed via email (which I regretfully deleted). Eight months later, I discovered unauthorized charges on my credit card statement. When I contacted them, the manager refused to help, stating it was their policy not to provide proof of cancellation. Negative experience: Apparently this is a select membership only club and there is a base membership club type. Nowhere is it mentioned that this club is special in some way and people who have access to other crunch fitness gyms can’t come here. Wasted my time driving here to get turned back. Negative experience: I normally do not put any reviews to businesses but I think people need to be aware and careful before joining this gym. First of all, the gym is completely full always. There is not enough equipment for the amount of people this gym has currently. Also, if you are thinking of a hiring a trainer, you have to know they are never available or cater to your time. It is always on terms of their schedule and time, not putting the customer first. And don’t even trust anyone that works there, you're gonna need to sign papers or something beforehand to protect yourself because in my case, I canceled my training sessions with my own trainer who told me that she would cancel for me herself and this never happened. The gym kept charging me $600 every month even after I contacted the manager and place of business constantly. The manager is Josiah Phillips and my experience with him was unpleasant. He was rude condescending and not understanding at all. I had to consistently chase him down for three months, leave voicemails and send emails just to never get any response back. And after having a conversation with him today, he dismissed the proof and screenshots I had that showed my trainer telling me she would cancel it for me. Not only that, he also told me if I was not happy with this then I cannot use the gym knowing the fact that my monthly membership is a separate thing that I have already been paying for every single month. To top it all off, do not trust them when they say you wont lose your personal training classes and can easily make them up later, because they still owe me 2 months of classes but now since I am not even allowed to go back, I lost them. Just a super unprofessional place and there is definitely better places than this crunch location .

Negative experience: Staff is unprofessional and not up to par. Other Crunches are held to a certain standard which this one does not follow in suit. Bugs crawling around while you lift , machines stay broken for weeks on end . My car was Keyed and the manager said he would get back to me with what happened after looking at the cameras . And nothing was reviewed nor did anyone reach out . Don’t recommend this gym at all.

Negative experience: Manger Josiah has very bad attitude, false informations. They gave you a wrong informations at first then they switched up on you after a few weeks telling you sorry it was wrong and they want to switch things around. That the definition of a scam. Here's the story for people are interested and Crunch corporate to review. When I open my membership I asked if I can add my 12 years old son as guest and pay the premium membership because this is actually the only reason to join this gym since I have some sort of disability. And it's the gym near to my house. I was informed by the front desk team member that was ok. and there's no issue. Today after 3 weeks for going the gym 4 days a week with my son and he signs at the front desk tablet as guest each time the managerJosiah told me I have to open a membership for my 12 years son not to let him in as guest, has to be 14 years old to be a guest. Like 12 years old can go to the gym in his own now! If this is the rules why I was informed something different? And how come 3 weeks we have going and no one says anything! I told him that's not I was told at first and we are coming different times with different team members at the front desk sign in the tablet with no problem. He said sorry everyone was wrong, if he is the manager and all of his team members are wrong that's really a poor management and sort of a scam with the wrong information. Not to mention about the broken machines never get fix since I joined 3 weeks ago there. I told him if this the case after my workout I may come to cancel my membership then he didn't let me go inside he said I actually will cancel now. I asked him about the reason because I didn't even raise my voice or violated any thing. He said I can cancel any membership to anyone at anytime if I want to. He just didn't like that I said I may cancel my membership because the false information I was given to get. He refused to give me any cancellation papers, he refused to let talk to anyone he threatened me to call the police to make me leave since I kept asking him for paperwork to state the cancellation. I waited for the police to arrive so I can have a document of the situation since he doesn't want to give me anything. If this the rules of your gym please I hope someone from the corporate or the owner reach out to me and visit this location to see the poor management over there. @Crunch Fitness

Fantastic experience: After many years of wanting to do some strength training I finally joined Crunch. A friend of mine recommended Glen Bates as a trainer. I could NOT have made a better choice. Glen is soft spoken , patient and worked with me ( was mid 57 years old when I started) around my schedule. He makes sure that one follows the form ( avoiding injury at my age is paramount) and warns you of the pitfalls if one does not do it right. Initially I was finding it hard to be regular. Now, I have been more regular and find dramatic improvements in just 1.5 months. The workout focus on 3 sections upper-mid-lower and I feel like my muscles have come alive - like in the movies when an old Transformer wakes up!!. My balance, posture ( I am in a sedantary job) and overall gait has improved dramatically. Not mention that the brain automatically avoids junk food, sugar and caffeine. Anyone seeking to improve their physical conditioning would be well advised to work with Glen Bates !

Negative experience: Falling apart I've visited a few different Crunches and this one is by far the worst. Live bugs on the crawling on the workout floor, locker room smells awful, rules not enforced (see guys with their shirts off for half an hour) staff at front desk unhelpful, often not there at all. Asked if they had workout bands anywhere and got laughed at "Nah if we had any people would steal them." They could easily hold them at the front desk and ask for collateral, like other Crunches do. Actively avoid this one if I can.

Fantastic experience: I have started training at the this gym with personal trainer, Sammy, and I can see so much progress in my body. Sammy is very disciplined and amazing at what he does. He has the patience to teach you the correct form and he is extremely humble. He takes pride in his work! He pushes you to the limit and makes you realize how strong you can be. I wish more trainers were this passionate with their clients because it makes you feel like you can accomplish any goal as long as you have the right trainer guiding you. Negative experience: Staff and management are deplorable. Trainers do not clean up after themselves but have no issue interrupting your workout to rudely accuse you of making the mess. My trainer quit and nobody told me for a month even though Glen insisted I was contacted when I expressed I was unhappy nobody told me (nobody contacted me anywhere) and i was then charged an extra moth after cancelling. only 3 weeks and 10 phone calls asking about the refund later did I finally get my money back. Glenn would speak over me and trip over his own stories as to why the refund was taking an extra 2 weeks. No respect for clients at all and corporate is unreachable.

Negative experience: Exercise Classes are to crowded. There are people that don't pay for the classes and people just walk in that are not members. Management and the front desk does not doing anything about it. They are either on there phones or just chatting at the desk. Many people have complained but they just don't care for the customers who pay. It is unfortunately the place is going down hill fast.

Fantastic experience: I have been a member of Crunch Fitness for several years and thought I knew what a good work out was until I met Sammy and began to speak with him. He gave me a new variation to the exercise I was doing. The variation blew me away and I thanked him for his advice. A couple of days later Sammy stopped to say hi and gave me a suggestion on another exercise, which I never thought of. We began speaking about training and I signed up for several training sessions. Sammy put me through a calisthenics workout that wore me out. He then brought me over to the bags and showed me a boxing workout that was awesome. Using Sammy as a trainer has changed my philosophy about going to the gym. I have also dropped 15 pounds within the last month and went down in clothing size. If you’re looking for a trainer who trains outside of the box, I would highly recommend Sammy. You will not be disappointed.

Fantastic experience: I can’t say enough about my personal trainer Sammy. He does an excellent job at tailoring my workouts to target EXACTLY what I need. He has encouraged me to challenge myself. Even though I go to the gym daily he explained that I had plateaued. He even did a great health assessment, then showed and explained things that I wasn’t even paying attention to! I love my HIIT and Zumba classes but this training is sculpting me a NEW body!!!!

Negative experience: Do not waste your time energy or money on this place archaic,vibes horrible run down gym. Joined and was given a month free never even signed a contact 7 days later sent an email to manage (Nick) no response again another email all in which I saved. Left numerous Messages again no response. Then all of a sudden getting email from their Billing department says we are concerned. What a joke I again sent emails including the proof I sent to cancel my membership.then come to find out the former manger is not even there since January where is his emails going.NO RESPONSE now I have a collection agency calling me over and over and my membership is not even cancelled still even though I haven't been there since November. Cancelled after less than a week now 6 months later still dealing with these people. Signed a disabled educated Veteran PS fix it and I will promptly edit my review

Fantastic experience: I needed to get back into the gym and really get focus on becoming discipline with my over health. Working with Glenn was amazing and helped a lot. He was patient and thorough in explaining the benefits of the different excercises. Most of all, with work my schedule can be crazy but he was accommodating and gave me the push I needed. Negative experience: They literally only scam you here so only sign up if you wanna get scammed. I was charged an annual fee even though my membership was on hold. No one ever told me I would be charged that fee. I came in to speak with the manager, Josiah and he was super rude and emotionless. Not the way to speak with a customer. I waited over an hour to speak with someone to waive the annual fee to be told in the end “I’m not gonna do anything about it”. What a horrible experience.

Negative experience: Don’t mind the old equipment but what I do mind is rude staff. There’s a class today and I went to the corner to stretch and I was told to move with an attitude. I don’t mind moving but I don’t appreciate sarcasm and passive aggression. Female trainer. Green pants white shirt looks like she’s in her mid 40s. Sad way to get a bad review but people need to learn to speak correctly especially if you’re a trainer representing the gym.

Negative experience: I have been a member at this gym last year and signed up for personal training service. I told the manager/personal trainer EJ that I was working with that I would like to stop the training service as I am traveling and could not schedule sessions. He said that he will put me on hold until I am back. I later informed him that I am not going to continue with the training as it was not giving me the desired results. He did not inform me that I need to do the paperwork and said he understood. I even got a call from the management asking me why I am stopping personal training and I informed the same. They never mentioned that i need to do paperwork to cancel. I am extremely disappointed and angry with the gym for charging me for personal training services for 6 months after I this. I later checked and was so surprised and when i called them they said that the manager who i spoke with quit and they have no record of me canceling. For those six months I was not even scheduled any sessions and no trainer was assigned to me or scheduling my sessions even though i was being charged 640$ per month. This is unacceptable and unethical. It's unfair to continue charging customers for services they are no longer using. The lack of transparency and consideration for customers' concerns is appalling. I urge others to be cautious when dealing with this gym and to be aware of their billing practices. Also the manager that was working at that time called me many times to ask for money for personal reasons after i stopped training with him which caused me to stop going to the gym in order to avoid confrontation with him.

Negative experience: I was stopped by an employee in the gym who brought me back up to the front desk and stated that my membership was no longer good at the Green Brook location because I got it at the Somerset location. This was the first time this happened and I’ve been going to the Green Brook location for about a year. When I spoke to Somerset on the phone, they said that my membership should be fine at the Green Brook location. The employee at the Green Brook location also told me that I couldn’t transfer my membership over, I had to cancel it and open a new membership with them. An employee from the Somerset location told me this was false and that you could transfer your membership to a different gym location. After having issues canceling my membership with Somerset, I called Green Brook to try and speak with a manager. The manager that I spoke to was very rude, unprofessional, didn’t let me speak, and told me that customer service was not his job. He told me that his job is to let himself talk and not listen to what customers have to say. I will never return to Crunch and was shocked to see how management treats their customers.

Negative experience: Solid equipment some machines are old but work, Half of the staff are good the other half are so unfriendly that, I canceled my membership and went back to retro. Men’s bathroom sauna and steam room all stink like crazy don’t know if it’s the people or the place but both are usually not to clean. Overall I just go sometimes because my friends won’t switch gyms. Just in case there is proof needed I went to the gym I have pictures below, also if one of the employees or managers has a problem they can also bring that up with me I’m pictured below. ,Thank you
