Fantastic experience: One of the best gyms I’ve been to. I was just up in the area for vacation and needed a place to train. Coming from someone who is a lifetime member and been to a lot of gyms this might be the nicest gym I’ve been to. Definitely would recommend to anyone in the brainerd area. Also the sauna is one of the hottest saunas I’ve been in.

Fantastic experience: Was in town for a week for the BIR event. Me and my partner looked around for nearby gym and visited this place. At first we are very skeptical due to the less photos posted here on google maps but we are amazed how neat, clean and great the gym is!! The bathroom for guys and girls were AMAZING. I brought my own toiletries and I didn’t even need it (except conditioner lol) since facility got everything. $20 day pass may be a lot but it was worth it (You get access to everything I believe) My partner and I really loved knowing they have pickleball courts in there so next time we come back for the race we know this gym got everything. Maybe having more squat rack and platforms for deadlifting in the future? But other than that we really enjoyed working out here. Front desk were also nice people and accommodated us even though we looked a little ragged up. *Aesthetic gym! Interior color really compliments that gym vibes you see on instagram.

Fantastic experience: I love the variety of group fitness classes available at this gym! They offer an impressive range, including TRX, cardio boxing, kickboxing, circuit training, spin classes, Pilates reformer, yoga sculpt, and Barre, among many others. Each class provides a unique experience that caters to different fitness levels and goals, ensuring there’s something for everyone. The facility itself is incredibly clean and well-maintained, making it a pleasant place to work out. Beyond the great classes and clean environment, the entire staff is very helpful and supportive, always ready to assist members on their fitness journeys. They genuinely care about helping you set and achieve your goals, creating a motivating atmosphere. I would highly recommend this gym to anyone looking to stay on a consistent path toward their fitness journey. With such a fantastic selection of classes and a welcoming community, it’s the perfect place to get fit and stay motivated!

Fantastic experience: The Brainerd Lakes Area is lucky to have such a wonderful facility. Featuring top notch workout equipment, super friendly staff, and incredible amenities such as the wonderfully hot sauna. On top of that, you will also find high quality yoga and other fitness classes taught by amazing teachers. If it sounds like I'm laying it on thick, I'm not, I'm actually underselling it as I haven't mentioned the great trainers (Corbin, Bronson, and Kelsey all superb), plus the martial arts and boxing programs, cycling classes, pilates, plus the basketball and pickleball areas, plus the very friendly and welcoming manager Joe. You will find the membership is a bargain compared to other places. Would give this place 10 stars if I could!

Fantastic experience: I finally took Jen Lind’s yoga sculpt! I’m hooked… she is so thorough and great with her words. The difficulty level is perfect- she definitely knows how to encourage you to push yourself! I also love the cool down with the lights off❤️

Fantastic experience: I rarely give reviews but this place is magnificent, the staff is friendly and the work they put in to make the place good is amazing. It completely changed my mental health in a positive way and the setup is great.

Fantastic experience: The staff here have been friendly and professional and it seems they took notice to the short weekend hours as they are open later. I am glad they listen to their customers requests. Easily the best Gym in central MN.

Fantastic experience: My family and I Love Takedown gym!! The classes are amazing, the staff is great and everyone feels like family there!! Yoga Sculpt and Cycle have been my go to classes lately but honestly they're all great there!! If you haven't been there yet you need to go check it out! My family and I have been members there for a few years now and our only regret is not joining sooner!

Fantastic experience: Been a member since shortly after they opened, Takedown has changed my life. I started working out in earnest about 7 years ago, and now at age 67 i am in the best shape i have been in in 20 years thanks to the team at Takedown. Just try it, nothing to be afraid of, Marvelous staff, a gift to our community.

Positive experience: Great gym with everything you need for any type of workout. Love the sauna and all the equipment is taken care of. WARNING: Even when you commit to a year long membership at a given price, they can change the price to anything they want during that time. Just months in to the commitment the price went up and I was still committed. Not to mention the account management errors we have experienced.

Fantastic experience: Take down has exceeded my expectations of what a gym could be in every aspect. Not only is the environment stunning, but the staff treat you like family. If your thinking of joining a gym I promise you you won’t be disappointed!

Negative experience: Equipment is not great. The price for the single membership is way overpriced for what the gym offers. Making you pay for towels? You can get access to other gyms with more amenities for around the same price.

Fantastic experience: Ive been a member since the gym opened. The Takedown facility is always very clean and the equipment is up to date and well maintained. There is ample room to play and move your body! Turf, wrestling matt, studios with a variety of classes and toys, machines, cardio, squat racks and more! Best part of Takedown is the front desk staff who keep it all running and create an enjoyable experience every time for every person!

Fantastic experience: I’ve been a member for a little over a year, and this is still my favorite gym (NDSU/Fargo had some top notch gyms too). Takedown stands out because of the classes, staff and cleanliness of the gym. Takedown offers a wide variety of classes so you never get sick of going to the same one. The staff are so FUN and energetic!! They truly make an effort to get to know members which make classes more fun and hold people accountable. Kelly’s beat boss and Michelle’s barre class are definitely favorites of mine—plus they both make you feel right at home with big smiles as you walk into their classes!

Eric Kramer is an excellent wrestling coach/technician my son's and daughter have learned a lot from him highly recommend it to anyone thinking about getting their kids into wrestling or looking to get an experienced wrestler to that next level.
