Centennial Fitness Center: Opinions

Fantastic experience: I love my racquetball experience. The only place in town with courts!
Fantastic experience: Aqua Zumba with Lucie A. and the friendly people on Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m. is the highlight of my very stressful week. I was so sad that I couldn't make the class this morning. Lucie is passionate, personable, and dedicated in making sure we get the best workout and have fun too. Love the music and vibe each week. Sometimes I feel like I am on vacation. ✈️️ If you are feeling lonely, stressed, in need of a healthy break and need some movement try this class with an excellent instructor, fun people and lively music. P.s. It's not swimming and coordination is not required. Trust me I know.
Fantastic experience: The Gym is outstanding, and the racquetball courts are great. It’s awesome that they have everything there. The Neighbor hood has a great facility in this.
Fantastic experience: One of the best indoor swimming pool very clean and organized!!
Positive experience: Good enough gym for a one-time thing. Just so you know, NON resident is $15 for a day pass. On the phone someone told me $10 and I had to really argue with them until they caved and gave me the $10 pass, because that's what I was told. But miscommunication is to be expected when you have a bunch of teenagers working a venue. So just be cautious of that and other things if you ever have to call for answers.
Negative experience: This place is poorly run. A couple weeks ago the schools were closed on Friday. Took the kids to go swimming to find out they can't swim until 5:00 pm. Had everyone stuffed on one basketball court so 4 people could play pickleball on the other court. Went there this Saturday to play basketball with my son because the online schedule said it was an open gym all day. Get there to find out the gym was closing in 30 minutes due to a basketball league. This place is very restrictive for families.
Fantastic experience: The best ever
Negative experience: Kind of expensive, even for residents who pay taxes in Park Ridge already. They also play propaganda on the gym TVs, which is off-putting and ignorant.
Fantastic experience: Clean, affordable, friendly staff, lots of fun..
Positive experience: Toddler swim class
Fantastic experience: I love this place ! I'm so happy that we found it. The pools are amazing. Thanks for making arrangements with Niles for the upcoming maintenance period for the pools. #onehappygal
Fantastic experience: Kids loved the pool and gym.
Negative experience: Equipment is usually in good condition. It's very clean. I gave it only two stars because the teen problem they have. Certain times of the day they are over run with teens. I don't mind that they are teens but there behavior is awful. Constant swearing and sitting on equipment while on there phones or talking to each other and if you ask them to move if there not using the equipment they say there using it when they really are not. They leave there back packs all over the floor. We are long time members and are considering leaving because it just seems to be getting worse.
Fantastic experience: Very good
Positive experience: Plenty of equipment. Everything is kept very clean. Pools are nice too.
Fantastic experience: Nice facility at fair price. Staff are kind.
Negative experience: I think I had too many expectations but place was loud and rather for kids thab adults
Fantastic experience: I love this gym. The staff is friendly and make an effort to get to know everyone and this is the same of the trainers.
Fantastic experience: Для мене сьогодні та за 9$ ок.
Negative experience: It's a decent place but prepare to have anything that you don't bolt down stolen from you.
Positive experience: As big as the facility is, the weight training area is extremely small and under equipped. Slightly better than what you would at some condos or hotels. A few machines, a set of dumbbells, 1 squat rack, no bench press bench (I had to drag the one flat bench over to the squat rack to be able to do some type of bench press), but they have dozens of cardio equipment. Yet with all these shortcomings, you can still get a good workout in, unless it’s the summer. The worst part is that the small workout area is filled with a bunch of young teens making TikTok videos. There will be 2 actually doing a workout, while the other 30 are just using the equipment as furniture to be on their phones or make videos.
Fantastic experience: Clean, nice and affordable place.
Fantastic experience: Cool
Fantastic experience: Nice place for adults and kids to hang out!
Fantastic experience: I've been going to Centennial Fitness Center for months now and I absolutely love it. The atmosphere is always friendly, the equipment is very well kept and the classes are amazing. It's definitely one of the best gyms I have ever been to.
Positive experience: The Fitness Center and the Community Center are both great. A lot of great classes and facilities available to Park Ridge citizens. I'm looking forward to taking more classes in the next few months.
Negative experience: The staff are great and it used to be a great place to swim in the indoor pool but now forget it, after work half the lanes are taken up by a swim team that's renting two of the four lanes. My taxes go to this place and I pay a membership fee only to be bumped out of working out by a team that isn't sponsored by the park district or city... How is that fair? Many of us complained to the park board and managers with no replies. Unprofessional and disrespectful to the tax payers and members.
Fantastic experience: We just had an amazing party in the outdoor pool for our girls birthdays! The staff and lifeguards were AMAZING! We were allowed to bring nontoxic waterproof glow sticks to throw into the pool that night and I think that was the kids favorite part of the whole party! It was so cute because they kept adorning the lifeguards with glow sticks as well because they wanted them to have as much fun as they were. .
Fantastic experience: Equipment is very well kept and it is not very crowded when I arrive to workout.
Fantastic experience: The best indoor pool and love the current in this pool love This place Friendly Atmosphere Family oriented and Definitely Convenient for me .
Fantastic experience: Why do you ask me about this place 5x a week? Obviously I love it because I'm there 5x a week.
Fantastic experience: EXTEND YOUR HOURS! TIL 10 WOULD BE AMAZING, ESPECIALLY SUNDAY HOURS. GREAT FACILITY IF I HAD MORE TIME
Fantastic experience: Community feel, great people but bit outdated. However, prices are very affordable and don’t get that fitness center snobby feel. A place where your grandpa would work in his retirement to have fun
Negative experience: Less than zero. Purchased a package of classes back in 2019, prior to covid and I only used a few. Never new they expired. Called to inquire about how many I had left and was told they had expired. 20 classes is a significant investment and when I spoke with management, they wouldn't budge on the 'expiration'. Never have I witnessed such rigidity in customer service. I appreciate the notion of an expiration but to hear "well, you didn't use them before covid, so I can't extend any of them" is terrible. How about a split? How about a courtesy 2-3 classes? After all, you already have my money. I will not be frequenting Park Ridge facilities again. They can keep my money but they've lost my loyalty.
Fantastic experience:
Fantastic experience: Very clean and nice equipment. I'd say they need to add more free weights which they have the space for on the second floor.
Fantastic experience: We've always had good experiences at the fitness center and have been members since we moved to Park Ridge in 2013. Not as luxurious as other gyms in town but a great value for the money.
Fantastic experience: Professional, kind and great service!
Fantastic experience: Great staff, folks, equipment. Can use some more weight equipment but overall love having this so close! At certain times it seems like a high school gym (lots of teens) but I go during afternoon times mostly, and it jus what it is. They’re really great about mask reinforcement, which is a plus
Fantastic experience: Wonderful place in park ridge to get a favor of the underlying community and its residents While some services reduced in Covid-19 times when they return this facility provides the best value to the entire family
Fantastic experience: Great clean place for the whole family
Positive experience: Nice fitness center. All of the employees have been super nice to me. Wish the weight room was bigger. Adding another squat rack / power rack would be a huge difference for me. More bumper plates for dead lifting would be great. There is currently not enough for the amount of weight I want to lift.
Fantastic experience: Very good about cleaning the machines
Fantastic experience: Very clean and safe.
Positive experience: Place for all health activities, swimming pool, gym, walking and jogging track.
Fantastic experience: I really like this place. My sons has been taken swimming lessons for a few months and so far very good.
Fantastic experience: Muy bien
Fantastic experience: Awesome place for swimming and fitness!
Fantastic experience: A very nice local gym and fitness facility. The price is best you can find in the suburb. It's not fancy like the for-profit gyms out there that offer you all sorts of non sense animities, but has everything you need for a complete workout. Also has a small dry Sauna, nice hot tub and a pool. Although an inside pool, there is a small area right outside the pool where you can catch sun. The center also provides all sorts of towels both in the gym and at the pool area which means you don't need to drag around towels with you!
Fantastic experience: Great place. Pool with currents like a river. How do they do that? Priced reasonable and friendly.
Fantastic experience: Great place to workout! Staff is super friendly and facility is always clean. Enjoy playing basketball with the members!
Fantastic experience: I may be a bit bias being a fitness instructor but it's a great place for fitness classes and has a great/quaint fitness center with just about everything you need. The manager there, Diane is a diamond in the rough and is extremely warm and helpful to her staff and any present or inquiring member. If you haven't tried the Les Mills classes there (Bodypump, Body Attack, or CX worx) I would highly recommend it! Talk about getting results while having fun. A great experience for all Park Ridge residents. I recently moved to Crystal Lake, which is 45 minutes away and I am still making the drive because I love it there that much!
Negative experience: My son took swimming classes here since he was 6 months old. I enrolled him every year for at least 2 sessions including this fall. This year I signed him up since January. I keept signing him up every session because we are not residents and I wanted to make sure he gets in. He is now 4 years old and he still doesn’t know to swim. After 3 years of swimming classes! He loves water and enjoys being in the water. He was never afraid of water. He doesn’t have special needs. Bottom line is that instructors have no clue what they are doing. You are paying so they can play with your kids in water. If my son jumps into a pool unsupervised he will drown in the first 2 minutes.
Positive experience: Decent clean gym, just redid the floors and added some new equipment. They could have more free weights, it's mostly machines and cardio
Fantastic experience: Gone it all
Fantastic experience: Beautifull inside pool area
Positive experience: Easy to get to plenty of parking reasonable and has all the services needed
Positive experience: Very good value for the fees
Fantastic experience: As a resident, the price can't be beat. Staff is great, facilities are great and the hours are perfect.
Positive experience: Recently had a sub par experience and voiced my dissatisfaction. Since then, the community canter and Jaclyn K reached out and extended a more than satisfactory remedy to my previous experience. I appreciate the concern by staff and am pleased with the latest result. Thank you again.
Fantastic experience: Excellent customer service ! Great place to go for a workout and play racquetball.
Positive experience: Small and kind of outdated but alot of fun for the whole family. I do not recommend the gym there its a terrible experience due to old equipment
Negative experience: Nice, clean place. WARNING tho to anyone who wants to bring a friend to work out . Was pulled to the side and told of a "policy" that only their trainers must be used. That cost is high and didn't like the strong armed method of steering business. Policy wasn't offered on paper, so most likely a scam.
Positive experience: My daughter has taken swim lessons through here for a couples of years now. I love it. She's becoming such a good swimmer. The swim coaches are great :)
Negative experience: Horrible, unsafe place to send tour kid for a swimming lessons. My son nearly drowned when "the instructors" where busy talking to each other. Stay away if you don't want your kid to be scared of the water for the rest of their lives.
Positive experience: This place is the best deal in town when it comes to a workout facility. Cheap monthly rates, lots of equipment available when you want to workout and several classes. The only down side would be the millions of kids that hang out there unsupervised.
