Fitness Premier Minooka

Negative experience: I have been going here for years. But now I'm thinking about looking for a different gym. Not only is it $40 or + a mounth, they now charge you an extra $30 for Sana and massage chairs which were free for the longest time, gets insanity busy, people don't wipe beaches, wipes get dry(so you need to waste alsot to get a wet one), and alot of teens who just sit at the change/equipment and don't use it.

Negative experience: Kids and some adults camp out on the machines and congregate all the time. Most people don’t wipe down the machines and neither does staff. They are currently building a suite which will include new offerings along with a few things such as massage chairs and sauna which have always been available before but now will cost an extra $30 a month. Why take away what has already been promised during our current membership when we signed up a few years ago? Looking for somewhere else where they value loyalty and membership.

Fantastic experience: Edited May 11th 2025, I’ve been on the stair master a few times since serviced and it’s back to normal. I changed my review reflecting good customer service, and a good quality clean gym. Been a member for a few years and while I do love the convenience of having a close gym, some of the machines are overdue on service. The stair master jerks if you go on higher speeds. I’ve told two different employees on two different occasions and still hasn’t been fixed. For how much we pay a month, I expect better.

Negative experience: It’s ashame because it’s a really nice gym but you have to be careful because they always charge random “fees” and then every month they’ll double charge me and I’d have to call and dispute it, only for the next few days they charge it again. So if you go to fitness premier just be careful they don’t charge you twice every month like they did to me. That’s the only big issue to be honest. Good choice of machines, and lots of them. Organized as well.

Fantastic experience: Brent know his stuff and in one session, one on one, I feel I am finally starting my way to less and less pain. Finally! Thank you, Brent!

Positive experience: Sometimes it gets a little crowded but other than that it’s a pretty nice gym.

Negative experience: Edit: An employee tried to steal my headphones a couple weeks ago im officially done with this gym. Original: The water fountain has finally been fixed. I believe a working fountain is the bare minimum to provide to provide @ 40$ a month but who am i to say. Nonetheless, i still give minooka 3 stars because the owners sign way too many people up and the location is beyond overcrowded. Owners should consider an expansion, more equipment, or implementing a cap on the amount of members. At least i wont be dehydrated while i wait for a bench to open up.

Fantastic experience: A few things that I like that Fitness Premier does well are: 1. They continually update their equipment. You won't find outdated, old, or broken equipment. 2. They bring in new equipment and toss older ones. They work hard to keep up and stay ahead of gym trends. 3. I feel they keep track of the equipment that gets used the most, and if they need to add a second machine or bike, etc., they do, so people are not standing around waiting to use that one piece of equipment that is so popular. 4. FP is open 24 hours. I am a five day workout guy, so I like to get in and out quickly, so being able to pick in the 24 hour time frame what time works best for me and my family is really nice. 5. I like that FP has an expansion mindset. There are other gyms in other towns, and I can access any of those gyms with my membership.

Fantastic experience: I like the pop up class it gives you a different workout from the regular workout that l normally do 3 times a week.

Fantastic experience: Nice facility with great trainers. Christina and Brent are super helpful and give great tips and feed back. There are lots of classes and a good number of machines and cardio equipment to make getting through routines very easy. Have 24/7 hours is also very convenient to work out when it is best for you.

Positive experience: I've been a member for about 2 years. The membership fee is average ( i.e. no complaints). I like this gym because it is local. On the weekdays it is over packed with high school kids. I bet they have a partnership with the schools. I would say 80% of the high school kids conglomerate, making it a pain to lift. I guess the only solution is to change my hours of working out. The weekends here are AMAZING because the volume of people is much lower. Who knew the kids stay home on the weekends? lol. I wish they offered a guest pass with the membership but I would imagine it would make things worse with even more people being around. I would say that if you are local then give this place a shot.

Positive experience: Solid gym. Stable equipment, plenty of options, good people, both staff and clients. That said, a $40 annual fee when you pay $40 a month is excessive. The after hours entrance tracking is getting gross too. Now I can't get in unless I have let them track my phone for at least 15 minutes before I try.

Fantastic experience: Disappointed that there's NO TANNING BED, HoWeVeR-everything else is pretty great and there's a sauna So I guess that kind of makes up for it. It just sucks that I have to go to a different place to tan, causes me to have to spend more time traveling then I care to admit.

Fantastic experience: Super nice gym, great Fitwave classes that are a killer workout. Love the massage beds as well as the saunas in each locker room. Love that they have a kid center where you can drop off kids while you work out! Overall a huge convenience with location as well

Negative experience: Too many highschool kids without memberships come here. The water fountain does not work either. The water fountain has been broke for around 8 months you are not trying to fix anything.

Fantastic experience: Really well taken care of facility. They have chains for bench press. A few interesting grip handles for the cable machines I've not seen at other gyms. Barbells and dumbells are in great shape along with their benches/seats.

Positive experience: Great gym, but many times WAY too crowded. They don't really have a system to check for people's membership upon entrance. During staff hours it's extremely crowded. During non staff hours it's not crowded at all (because you need a membership to unlock the door). Goes to show that many people who workout there do not pay for a membership. I think it's awesome to see people working out and being healthy, but it overcrowds them gym and makes it not worth going for the people that do pay.

Fantastic experience: I’ve never felt more comfortable walking into a gym as I have this one. Staff is very welcoming and friendly. Any question I had was answered without judgement. Highly recommend!

They have a daycare, I'm pretty sure my son gave the lady a run for her money since he escaped and she had to chase him, I was so embarrassed about it but Josh(Owner) just kept saying it was okay things happen. What I love about this gym, I don't feel like I'm being judged.

Fantastic experience: I've been a member at Fitness Premier Minooka for over a year, and my review has been thought about for some time. I am very pleased with the progression of the gym, where it is now, and where it is going. I am writing a detailed review to say thanks for everything that's going great at the gym, and give my honest evaluation. In December 2020, FP Minooka was a very strong four-star gym; sufficient equipment and a great staff. Four stars is excellent--an easy recommendation anyday. Coming out of a very difficult period for all fitness center businesses, FP Minooka launched itself forward with a renovation that pushed the location into a five-star gym. An excellent location is now truly an outstanding location. I think FP Minooka is the area's best gym for most, and I have had memberships all around the area for years. Those that may have attended the previous owner's respectable Peak Fitness would be thrilled with the cosmetic and functional updates the facility has received being operated by Fitness Premier. FP Minooka's staff is great all-around. I see Josh and Larry most often and can say great things about them all day, but any staff you'd meet at FP Minooka would offer a great interaction. The classes led by staff are always very popular, and I see the training staff doing a great job with the clients that use their services. FP Minooka will best serve people looking to do traditional barbell/dumbbell and machine exercises, treadmill and cardio machine movements, also offering a selection of calisthenics and circuit-training equipment. The recent expansion has provided plenty of equipment for anyone looking to use a power rack or cable machine or dumbbell space; and it has been arranged in an optimized way so that the gym's flow is balanced--a great layout. I love the new breakout studio rooms and that they offer space for free movement, additional cable machines, and a couple power racks. The people that may need to consider a more specialized gym are dedicated powerlifters, weightlifters (Olympic lifting,) and Crossfit athletes looking for bumper plates and space to run around. Serious powerlifters may need to wait to use the dedicated deadlift platform, but specialized squat bars and bench equipment (like chains) are easily available. The location's full ammenities list can be seen on its website. The gym has been operated very well, and it's looking like it will continue to find ways to be excellent and serve its members. I'm happy to give a five-star review.

Fantastic experience: Great gym, usually friendly workers greet you upon coming and going. Good free weight selection and machines to use. Cardio section is good. Expansion coming hopefully they add some sweet new gear.

Positive experience: I've been going here on and off for a few years now. It can get pretty crowded at certain times which makes it hard to get in a workout. You may have to adjust tour workout time if you notice a pattern.

Negative experience: If I could give this place a zero I would. If you want a gym that cares about you then Peak Fitness is not for you. I recently signed up for what I thought was a month to month membership. I went in I told the employee that I only wanted the membership in preparation for my wedding so basically until June and wanted a month to month. She proceeded to show me around and then asked if I wanted to sign up and I said yes as we talked about the month to month. She circled the year contract on my membership form and we were chatting away and had me sign were my signature was required. I didn't even bother to check to make sure she circled the month to month. When I went in to cancel due to personal issues I couldn't because of this mistake and the employee continued to tell me that my "ignorance" was not an excuse. When this situation was brought to the owners attention he said he "wouldn't budge" unless I have a doctor's note excusing me from working out- which now I have to pay for a Dr appt to get the note. The other thing is that if you are a new client and sign up for a new membership you get a complimentary personal trainer workout, when I was there to sign up I met with a personal trainer and gave her my information so she could contact me to sign up and she never reached out to me. Another issue I had is I had gone in to work out at the end of December and had mentioned to younger employee that my cousin (who is also linked to my account) will be moving and I needed to cancel her membership. She proceeded to tell me to wait until January so that she could still work out in January but that I needed to cancel her account before January 20th so I wouldn't get charged for the month of February (she is moving February 6th). When I went in Jan. 11th a different employee told me that I should have cancelled in December for this, and that I will now be charged for the month of Feb. The other thing is yes this gym has some equipment but it doesn't have any ab machines and the classes that are offered aren't very convenient and some of the instructors don't really instruct and aren't very friendly. Overall, their employees don't know how the memberships work, the have limited equipment, they don't have extended evening hours, and they don't genuinely care about their clients. I had an awful experience with gym and hope that I can help others and save them the frustration with this gym.

Positive experience: The gym is of average price, they have the same babysitting hours as every other gym. (I would love a gym that offered child care service hours between 11am and 3pm. but No one seems to offer that. I have never seen Peak so jam packed that I couldn't use the equipment. My one complaint is that the child care is only an hour. I'm paying for 2 adult memberships they should allow an hour per paying adult. But if the two paying adults come separately, (one right after another) they child can do 2hrs Makes no sense that if i manipulate the system then it can work. The cost for the kids club was per use instead of a monthly membership. My favorite thing is they provided a sanitizing spray bottle at every other machine. Every person would spray and wipe down after each use. If you're unsure if it was done you can spray before use. It was convenient and easily accessible. I truly wish other gyms cared more about sanitation and our health instead of just our dollars. After all we are talking about a health club. Not a sweat and germ infestation you hope not to catch a disease or fungal infection from.
