Fantastic experience: Crunch Fitness, if you are asking is it work it the answer is always yes. You need to go to the gym. The reason is yours but yes you need to go and get sweetie. It's your life do at least one thing a day good for it. As for the facility it's clean the employees are always welcoming and the rest of the guests seam friendly. Do I recommend it yes because you deserve a better version of yourself.

Fantastic experience: I hired Michael O’Leary as my personal trainer and I couldn’t be happier with my results. It’s only been 3 months, but I already feel stronger and healthier. Michael is extremely knowledgeable and such a great motivator. He is sensitive to my ailments (scoliosis, spinal stenosis, budging disks, and arthritis) and helps me work through them and adjusts my work out. This is the first time I ever hired a personal trainer because I felt I was so limited on what I can do to get stronger but he has shown me how I can still work out despite my pain. In fact, my pain decreases after our work out. I am so glad I chose Michael to lead me into a healthier body (and mind). I plan be a lifelong client. He’s the best!!

Negative experience: Well today my wife and I were sitting at a table and a trainer made us get up because she said she need it for a client. I guess once they got our money we don’t matter I’m adding to my review , several times I have to wait for a machine or not been able to use because other gym members leave their stuff on the machines while using other machines stopping other gym members from using the machine. Apparently crunch condones this behavior because nothing is done to discourage this behavior. My wife and I are looking into finding another gym that might offer better service. Very few people clean the machines after use here so I bring my own cleaner to clean before and after use. I don’t recommend this gym. Update: there is a class the started the same time as I go and they have the most annoying music that ever 20 seconds makes a loud sound like microphone feed back that I swear makes my ears bleed. Can’t wait to find another Jim that takes my insurance, I’m actively looking. I do not recommend this gym

Fantastic experience: I’ve been going to this gym for a while now, and I can honestly say it’s one of the best decisions I’ve made for myself. The staff is super friendly and helpful, the space is always clean, and there’s a great mix of equipment for all kinds of workouts. I never feel judged—just motivated. Negative experience: I’ve been a longtime customer at crunch fitness. I’ve been with the university and Lockwood ridge location for over three years. I was canceling my membership for a short period of time as I was moving away from the area. On top of that I had to cancel my mothers membership, who is having surgery. When we went to go cancel the accounts both accounts got charged! My account until another pay Period and my mother was charged for 3 months worth of gym use ON TOP of a yearly maintenance fee when she clearly has been there for less than a month before getting ill . I was definitely not happy with this, but I paid anyways and tried to ensure that I would no longer get charged THAT SAME DAY they charged me another yearly fee on my accounts after they had emailed me a statement saying that the accounts were paid to be cancelled. LIKE HELLO?? I have to pay to cancel my membership? Almost $200 just to never hear from this company again. Good riddance, on to newer and better gyms . PLEASE don’t go to these Scam artists

Positive experience: It’s not crunch 64, but it’s great just alittle packed with kids who dont re-rack their weights and cloud the locker room mirrors up.

Positive experience: Pretty solid gym. It’s a very busy location much of the time, but the staff is super friendly and they keep it quite clean. Recommended for your basic amenities and classes.

Negative experience: Cheap, discount gym and people zoo. I currently go here regularly and gave it two stars merely because it's close and my former gym across the street stopped participating in the Silver Sneakers program. Basically this place is a zoo, which is OK if you like zoos. Way too much of the equipment is often out of service, ragged out, or needing maintenance and outright dangerous to use. Way too many gym noobs and a-holes that tie up equipment while endlessly scrolling on their phones, who don't bother to re-rack weights/equipment or wipe them off. Cleanliness of locker room and main floor varies and generally degrades in the later part of the day. There is always plenty of staff, but they don't seem to care much about this, they seem to be there merely for sales, additional paid services like personal training and massage or maybe just ornamentation. And now it seems that they have roof leaks over the main floor. Closes at 7:00pm on weekends? - That's ridiculous. If Crunch were an airline, it would fit in will with Spirit for Frontier.

Negative experience: I moved out of Sarasota and called to request to cancel and crunch said I must come in office or send a certified letter in order to cancel- what an abysmal practice.
Negative experience: Today I canceled my plan at this gym! All disorganized gym, the attendants write down their data all wrong, they wrote down my wrong phone number and email, and from there all the confusion began, I went to ask for a new barcode to access the gym, since I had lost mine and the attendant told me that I had no registration at the gym, even though I showed that I was being discounted the monthly fee every month on my card, this same attendant told me to go training that she was going to see with the manager. The other day I arrived to train I went through the entrance and the manager came to charge me the barcode, so I passed what the attendant had told me "to go training that she was going to see with the manager", and amazingly "SHE SAID SHE DIDN'T REMEMBER ME, SHE DIDN'T REMEMBER HAVING ATTENDED ME AND TOLD ME THIS! So far ok, they were already classifying me as a liar, so I told me to make a new registration, and guess what? When jo garan in the system my first registration appeared! So they gave me a new barcode, "AND THEY DIDN'T EVEN APOLOGIZE FOR THE INCONVENIENCE THEY CAUSED ME"! Today I arrived to train and they barred me again charging me an ANNUAL FEE OF U$79.00 "saying that it is charged once a year, but no one had warned me. This charge was 8 days late, but it had been 10 days since I went to the gym, so I asked if I could train and pay the next day when I had my wallet, and they didn't accept, so I paid U$98.00 to cancel my plan! Their treatment of customers is TERRIBLE, unprepared, disrespectful and rude! RUN FROM THIS GYM!

Negative experience: This gym is clean and ok when it’s not busy. Reason for one star is the horrible personal training program. Did not tell me when signing up it is a 3 month minimum and cannot cancel anytime.. when changing personal trainers to a different crunch location, they made me resign the same contract (said I could cancel this time anytime since I already did the first3 months with another trainer) I canceled after the second week with Sidney. Was continued to be charged for the next 3 months even after “removing my card” in total over $1200 I lost. Then a “refund request” was submitted they had me waiting over 6 months before finally telling me “sorry but you’re just not getting the money back” Sidney spent 25out of 30 minutes of our first PAID session trying to convince me to sign this contract again that I said I didn’t want to make the 3 month commitment again yet, she and the manager ensured me I could cancel with no problems. The second session she ended almost 10 minutes early out of the already short session for what I was paying around $70 per session paying biweekly. Very disappointing and will never give crunch another cent. This gym is decent but do NOT get involved in the personal training program. Take your money to another gym that isn’t money hungry. I wish I would’ve kept my previous personal trainer instead of switching to Sidney. She was a little rude and made me feel like I was almost wasting her time when I was overpaying for these sessions. Didn’t learn anything from her. Seemed like she just didn’t want to be there each time I saw her. When I first met her I told her I wanted to learn new exercises and learn to use all the equipment. Each session we would grab dumbbells and go into the corner do basic things like squats, bicep curls, calf raises… mind you I’m 26 and in good shape. Complete waste of time and felt robbed when my refund request was denied. Impossible to get ahold of anyone higher up then the manager of the gym. I was given an email and resent the same email 5 times in a timeframe of 3 months with not one reply.

Negative experience: Think long and hard about signing up for personal training at the University Parkway location. They will tell you the gym offers a high quality, consistent and stable staff which has now been untrue twice that I’ve signed up, and paid in full for training. The first time 6 years ago, the trainer just left no heads up, okay no big deal, that happens, but then it was a revolving door of trainers and ultimately I left without using up my paid for sessions. I signed up again end of 2024 because the gym is convenient in terms of location for me, and I was assured, promised to and committed to that things had changed. They have in fact not. Trainer unreliable and inconsistent, then relocated and told I’d just be passed to another trainer. There is no one to talk to, you’re just told to email “the manager”. I raised to three managers requesting I just be refunded and we part ways. Sixteen (16) days after I originally emailed and followed up, I received a very rude one liner, from Mike Fite, the regional personal training manager, “ Refund not approved.”. Their lack of customer service and quality of service you should really look into before signing a contract. I wish I had and not taken their word that they were different now. They are not.
Negative experience: Do not sign up with them unless you are committed completely. I signed my husband up to try to motivate him to get going and get active when I signed him up. They never told me that I had to be committed to three months plus a maintenance fee of $70 before I can his membership. Have they told me that I would’ve never committed to signing him up because I Would know within a month if he was really going to go and utilize his membership, but the gentleman at the front wanted to argue with me about it that he knows he told me that he said he doesn’t make any mistakes. They Don’t make it easy to end your membership either I’ve called. I’ve gone in and told them I wanted my membership ended and it’s not that easy.. I would not recommend this gym. They are overpriced you can go other places for a better atmosphere and more helpful employees
Fantastic experience: Excellent classes, services and equipment. Alexus at the front desk always greets you with a welcoming smile and provides exceptional service and assistance when asked. Donald’s spin classes are also exceptional and exerting. Overall the gym is clean, organized, well managed and highly recommended.

Negative experience: I was disappointed to leave this gym because I really enjoyed the crowd and how nice it was inside, but I had to cancel my membership because of the constant harassment either from trainers coming up to you all the time so you'll sign up for their services, or the people at the front desk trying to get you to repost their Facebook posts. Seriously. Every single time I walked in I'd get asked to repost something, then as soon as I started working out a trainer would approach me trying to be friends. They DO NOT leave. They will literally follow you the entire time you're there. I was 16-17 years old when I had a membership here, and it got to a point where a personal trainer in his mid 20's was legitimately trying to get close to me; he would follow me around the whole gym making conversation about his personal life, ex girlfriend, and more on how intimidating I looked and how I reminded him of an egirl twitch streamer.. lol. I actually called and spoke to someone about this and was told they would handle it, only to be loudly greeted by him the next day. Probably after being asked to repost a Facebook ad. If you want to attend this gym, you better make sure you plan on doing personal training!!! And expect to be chatting with many people. Don't bother bringing headphones or trying to mind your own business. The kickoff isn't mandatory or free by the way.
Fantastic experience: I joined Crunch about 9 months ago as a 310 pound dude with a sedentary lifestyle. I got out of breath just folding laundry. I met with a trainer named Kristian who showed me around and explained what he could do for me. I was skeptical since I had no intention of actually lifting weights. I planned to just use the cardio machines 3 days a week, but Kristian believed in me that I had the ability to do so much more. A lot more than I believed in myself at the time. So I took him up on the offer of training once a week. Now, 9 months later I am 235 pounds, down 75 pounds from my original weight. I've built muscle and I know how to use almost every machine in the building. Kristian and Crunch have changed my life. I am still working on losing weight, but with everything I've learned at Crunch from Kristian and others, I am set up to be fit for life and I couldn't be any happier with my results. Thank you to everyone at Crunch, especially Kristian and Logan.

Negative experience: Every time I come to this crunch the front desk says something different about classes. Then asking for my bank account instead of a credit card, Absolutely not. I have never given a gym my bank account, that’s ridiculous. I have had the same membership for years and never had an issue and all of a Sudden the ride class is an upgrade. Y’all are a trip!!! SMH
Positive experience: I like going to Crunch most of the time however, i would like to be able to complete my workout and get going. I understand there are busy times and I have to wait a short time to use a machine. What i don't understand is if i have to wait because someone is sitting on a machine for an extended time texting and/ or surfing the internet. This happens almost everything's I come to crunch. Often times I leave without completing my workout.

Negative experience: I give it 1 star only because the people are polite when you do speak with them but wow. I signed up for 5 personal training sessions last June (2024). Upon moving away from the location they informed me that I would have to pay off all of my remaining contract, fine. I signed a cancelation agreement that day after being informed the plan would automatically renew if I did not (what a scam that i can't cancel over the phone or sign digitally). Fast forward to February 2025, in spite of my cancelation agreement dated November 2024, they decided to randomly start charging my card again for the training. I was promised a refund, but that was 3 weeks ago. I doubt I'll see it. Would not recommend giving them you're financial information at all god knows how long until I see another charge come in
Negative experience: Horrible communication and customer service, they charged us double the monthly fee without consulting or saying anything like that, for a given reason we wanted to cancel the subscription, they made us pay 3 times the cancellation fee since the customer service did not do their job well and that according to what they told us, we had not canceled the membership that their system did not save it, did it not save it 3 times charging it? and deducting from the card? we sought help and nothing, which is why they charged us once again, paying 4 times in total, without a refund, in short it was a scam, pff It stinks!
Negative experience: Terrible communication skills. After being a member for years they only than doubled the monthly dues without any correspondence. She. I inquired about the charges, not one person replied.

Negative experience: Left 4 different individual full page flyers across cars in random parking lots. Now I have to throw out your trash.
Fantastic experience: This gym is very well equipped with a lot of new equipment including the latest treadmills. Everything you could possibly need. The locker room is spotless and the showers very clean with soap dispensers. There is plenty of free parking. The staff is helpful and friendly. There is a sauna and an outside workout area.

Fantastic experience: Excellent gym! Really well stocked with free weights, machines, and cardio equipment. Lots of classes from HIIT training, to cycling and even TRX. Extremely clean. Thank you Tracy for the tour, all the info, and letting me try the hydro massage! Highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: I've been a member of Crunch Gym for a couple of weeks now it's been an awesome experience! The gym is always clean, and the staff is friendly and helpful. One of my favorite things about Crunch Gym is the wide variety of group fitness classes they offer. There's always something new to try, and the instructors are top-notch, making every workout fun and challenging. Negative experience: I vouched for this crunch for my job and now they lost my business, I have never felt so belittled in my life. Older lady at the front crossed a boundary telling me how if I didn’t pay the $70 it would ding my credit. Which in all reality I really don’t care because it would have been paid anyway! I told her that I couldn’t afford it right now and proceeded to say it wouldn’t be fair as far as me coming in with my friend as a guest to be able to use the gym because I haven’t paid for my membership. LITERALLY AFTER TELLING HER I COULDN’T AFFORD IT RIGHT NOW. So I forked up $70 paid for it and I will NEVER EVER be a member here again! Not as long as she works here. She is bad for business. I don’t care how good in sales you are YOU NEVER OVER STEP LIKE THAT!!! ITS A GYM NOT THE IRS! On top of that they also aren’t very welcoming. Very very over bearing and if you come in with a guest they push and push and push for them to sign up, a lot of my friends won’t even do gym with me because they are like this. So for 2025 I will be going to Amped. :)
Negative experience: Fine gym, but got locked outside while The club was open and there is no way to get the club itself on the phone. This policy needs to change with gyms. Seriously, stop this shit. Gyms do this to make it more difficult for people to cancel. You sign docs digitally so there is ZERO reason to require in person cancellation. Making it harder to reach a staffed location during hours of operation is just predatory business at the expense of current members. I refuse to reward gyms for this. The only star I’m giving crunch is that the staff at the Lockwood/University location was nothing but pleasant and professional. Honestly, at this point it’s going to become a bit of a crusade for me to have gyms allow members to cancel via email because it’s so blatantly anti consumer.
Fantastic experience: The thing I love the most about the University location is that there's room for everyone. For the people that come in wanting to strut their stuff, the retirees coming in more to gossip than workout, the serious athletes, the first time to fitness or the returning to fitness for the 12th time, the body builders or the I just want to be in better shape, there's room and welcome for everyone. If you want to train with a trainer, they have a diverse and knowledgeable staff, no carbon copy training staff. There is a style and personality that suits you best in their training staff. Both the staff and the other members are so encouraging and supportive, and I love that about them.

Positive experience: Facility is ok. They give you a free first mont but get you at the end when you stop membership, they charge an extra month. Let’s see how LA fitness does it now that I am back in town.
Negative experience: I signed up for a membership here with Dom about two months ago. During sign-up, I specifically asked multiple times if this was a month-to-month membership that could be canceled at any time, as I was planning to move soon. Dom assured me it was, so I went ahead. When I tried to cancel, I was informed I’d need to continue paying for three months and also pay the annual membership fee, despite what I was told. I’ve been addressing this issue with the general manager, Rob, for over a month now with no resolution. Communication has been awful—it took numerous calls and emails to even get a response. Rob claimed he couldn’t help but said his supervisor, Kevin, could. After weeks of emailing Kevin, I’ve still received no response. To make matters worse, Rob refused to provide any corporate contact information, leaving me stuck with no way to resolve this issue. This experience has been incredibly frustrating, and the lack of accountability and communication is unacceptable.
Negative experience: Was given misleading information when joining, I was told pretty much the opposite and am now stuck in a contract. So just beware and double check the information your given. Also a super busy gym atleast in the afternoon making it hard to exercise sometimes.
Negative experience: I really feel like they push the hydro massage chair to make you sign up for the more expensive plan but the chair is always out of order from one location to another. The sales pitch I received was we charge the maintenance fee to keep machines working...I wish it included the chair. Feelin like they took me for a ride
Hi, sorry to hear you feel this way about our gym. Just so you are aware, our HydroMassage chairs were down for routine for maintenance but have since been worked on and are now fully functioning. Negative experience: There was a promotion to bring friends and family so Crunch will give $20 referral bonus. I brought my wife and she joined 3 months ago. Still haven’t seen the bonus in my account. Followed up with staff many times and yet so many excuses and no resolution. Called and left messages for manager Rob to call me but he has not bothered to call back. On another note when my one month payment skipped (first time in so many years) because credit card on file expired, they are too quick to charge $10 late fees, which they refused to refund as a courtesy. Where is all the customer service here?
Fantastic experience: As of recently rejoining Crunch after an extended hiatus. It has been a great experience. Positive staff with an uplifting attitude. Tia did a great helping answers some questions. Being kind While maintaining professionalism. Across the board the staff have been exceptionally. Natalie, Ken, to name a few more. Great team with great leadership.

Negative experience: Wes Cole, and the rest of the personal training team are nothing but thieves. I fulfilled my personal training contract with Crunch, I went to cancel my personal training on October 15th, which was the day of my final personal training payment AND the 10 days before my next payment date. The gym had no electricity, so I couldn't cancel-how convenient. I attempted to cancel at another location, but was told personal training had to be cancelled at the location you signed up at. Fine. Crunch did not get this electricity back for several days, I went on October 19, my next day off of work, to cancel. I was told that I needed to cancel on October 15th in order to not be held accountable for the next payment. I said how is that possible when I came to cancel and was told I couldn't because they had no electricity? Wes Cole basically told me too bad there is no wiggle room on their 10 day notice rule. So even when they have no electricity and you cannot cancel you are somehow responsible for future payments. Wes Cole finally agreed to marking the cancellation page as me not being responsible for any further payments and owed a refund. Needless to say, on the next billing date I was charged several hundred dollars again, with no refund in sight. Now, TWO WEEKS LATER, a full month after initially cancelling, I was charged several hundred dollars YET AGAIN. This leads me to believe WES COLE did not submit my cancellation. I ultimately had to call my bank because this is absolutely ridiculous and DISGUSTING business practice. After cancelling with WES COLE I am out nearly $600 for services I attempted to cancel ON TIME but couldn't because of their power issues. No refund was given as promised, plus I continue to be charged. Their team member WILL also lacks any form of customer service abilities and was rude when I asked him when the managers are in telling me I basically have to continue to randomly show up to talk to one in person about this matter after their gym continues to fraudulently charge my card. Steer clear, if you search there are HUNDREDS of reviews just like mine for Crunch. There are so many other gyms with better business practices, with employees who don't steal from you.
Negative experience: Signed up for 9am cycling today, no instructor showed up. We all waited for 10 minutes thinking maybe the instructor is running late but NO, class was canceled and no communication was made to the members who signed up. Asked the front desk no one knows what’s going on. We understand things happen but if you can’t make it to teach class please notify us, management should confirm classes with instructors too.
Fantastic experience: I love it here. Everyone’s so nice and the staff are always so friendly. Not too busy, not always empty either — a perfect mix with open machines 95% of the time :)

Negative experience: I love the gym, it's huge, lots of workout equipment. I didn't like that you can't cancel your membership for 90 days after you join. Also hidden $53 annual fee. Also if funds aren't in bank account on same day they are scheduled to take it out, they charge $10 late fee . Also professional training is a rip off and the rates are insanely expensive.
Negative experience: I called to cancel my membership 9 months ago and the girl I talked to said everything was good to go after being on the phone for 15 minutes. I was checking my statements and they have been charging my card 40$ for basically a year. I called again and now I HAVE to go in and I am not getting any money back. Just a bunch of scammers.
Fantastic experience: Was greeted enthusiastically by Dom, facilities were clean and all machines were in great condition. 10/10 would recommend purchasing a membership.

Negative experience: Read the contract closely. They won't go over it with you and make it hard for you to cancel or get a refund. I had the misfortune of getting seriously sick the day after signing up and tried to cancel 5 days later. I spoke to 4 different people who gave me 4 different reasons why I couldn't cancel. One said they needed an in-person signature, another said it just was absolutely not possible at all, a manager said I couldn't cancel 3 days after signing the contract, a sales rep said I couldn't cancel without a signed doctor's note... they had a list of reasons prepared to make it difficult for the customer to get my money back. I have yet to receive a refund on the personal training sessions I prepaid for. It's been a total nightmare that i've had to navigate. It's super scammy business practices and I will never be entering a Crunch gym again.
Fantastic experience: I would like to leave this statement on record, because I was about to give up on Cruch when Personal Wes met my wife and, talking to him, we agreed on a training plan. Which proved to be very successful, because his training sessions are great, he is very motivating and manages to go beyond the exercises so that I reach my best potential, motivating me to go further. The result of this is that today, in addition to being in the best physical shape of my life, I am managing to go consistently every week.

Negative experience: Low class gym. Etiquette doesn’t apply. People play music on their phones without headphones and have screaming matches on speakerphone. I asked the front desk if there are etiquette rules and they said there is no rules against speaking on your phone. If he wanted to work out while on the phone, that’s on him. Lost 3 members today.
Negative experience: Be careful! Even the name is "crunch" they kind of pretending to be a different franchise and they may give you a hard time to get in...
Fantastic experience: I've been coming to Crunch Fitness for about a year now, and I really like this gym. I'm not planning on going anywhere else. The staff are great and always friendly. The equipment is in good order and sometimes even new. The only thing I would like to see change is for the gym to be open 24 hours. Other than that, it's a fantastic place to work out!

Positive experience: Really enjoyed my workout. All the machines are pretty new and great. Nice music, hammer strength brands’ machines. Loved the HIIT section . Overall I will give 5/5. Moreover front desk team is amazing too.
