Negative experience: This gym has been one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve ever had. I submitted their official cancellation form back in June after calling and being told that was the way to cancel. I never got any confirmation or follow-up at all. In July, I went in person and spoke directly to Kody, the manager. He admitted the form hadn’t been processed and said July would be my final month. I figured it was finally handled. But in August, they charged my credit card again. I disputed it. Then somehow, they managed to charge my bank account. I had to physically go to my bank and sign paperwork to dispute that too. Then a few days later, they hit my credit card again with a $50 charge for no reason. Since then, I’ve submitted more cancellation forms, called repeatedly, and tried to get someone on the phone. No one ever called me back. And now when I try to log into my account, it says “account not available” — but they’re still charging me. I’ve done everything they asked and more, and I’m still being charged after canceling multiple times. The lack of accountability and communication from this location, especially from Kody, is ridiculous. Go somewhere that treats people with respect.

Fantastic experience: I’m have to give some credit to an amazing energetic HITT, BarBell and Zumba Classes Beautiful Martha E. She has help me to grow and keep getting stronger, her Zumba classes are so much Fun and helpful in so many ways I will encourage you to try them all. Thank you Martha E. You have motivate me more than you can imagine. Thank Crunch for such exceptional instructor and awesome human being. Thank again Martha.

Negative experience: Great equipment... but the stafff is not helpful and very unprofessional. They dont value the member at all. I was a personal trainer at the original Crunch chain in NYC 2000 so different but still same quality and great personal training

Negative experience: I went because someone called me from there because I did not finish enrolling online. My employer offers a discounted package with them because of there corporate account so I was interested in signing up. I couldn’t sign up with that discount online so I stopped. Someone from there called me and asked why I didn’t finish and if I needed help. I explained what was happening and he said he would be happy to honor the 19.95 a month for the best plan available with no enrollment fee. When I got there everyone looked dumbfounded by this and told me no it would be 24.95 a month. I can’t stand being told one thing but then they won’t honor there word. After about 10 minutes of explanation from them on howits 24.95 I caved and said ok. Then they start the enrollment process. The young lady was going to force me to go on a tour and I told her I did not want one and needed to get to work. She was unable to proceed without checking with someone if it is ok. After the guy told her that’s fineshe hits me with a 60$ annual fee as well. I got up and walked out. There was no contract for this plan so why would I have a annual fee. Doesn’t make sense considering it’s a month to month obligation. I felt nickeled and dined by them and got up and walked away. Bad business!

Negative experience: Be careful with this place, called to change membership was charged 53 dollars to make the change. Next month was billed the same amount I had been getting billed, called them to try and find out what was going on. They told me the form was submitted incorrectly, they said they would try to give me a refund but it was corporate decision and there was no way to contact them.

Fantastic experience: One of the better gyms we’ve ever been to. Gym atmosphere is like usual. Maybe one day people will switch that up and be more friendly !

Negative experience: One star is an overstatement should be zero stars, place is way overcrowded, you have groups of teenagers and gym bros hogging up the machines they set up camp on the machines and play on their phones, staff doesn’t care to intervene to move them along. Cleaning wipes are constantly empty and the bathrooms smell like a third world country. The parking situation is a complete joke, it’s located in a small strip mall with no parking at all. Do yourself a favor and spend your money somewhere else.

Fantastic experience: I tried this gym for the first time yesterday and now there's no turning back. Love the size, the many available workout machines, and the sauna Matt signed me up and was awesome. He made me feel genuinely welcomed. Time for some gains!

Negative experience: First time I have ever left a review on google. I can't stress this enough do not go here they only care about money and roping you into a contract. I've been over charged here multiple times and basically lied to regarding the length of freezes and how it works. I'm very disappointed with my experience here.

Negative experience: Some spots in this gym smell worse than some gas station bathrooms. Gym is busy at almost all times during the day and somehow gets busier into the night. Parking is nearly impossible to find. I just use my bike because I dislike trying to find parking in this mall.

Negative experience: Giving Crunch Fitness one star is a huge overstep and if i was able to give a negative star i would. I was diagnosed with a rare disease called benign fasciculation syndrome. This disease can often be mistaken for ALS OR MS but basically causes my muscles to constantly cramp up when overworked and twitch 24/7. Working out makes my whole body start to tremor almost like parkinsons. When i went in to cancel the woman upfront told me the only way i could cancel was if i provided a note from my doctor! I was absolutely floored and said you all are a gym not my doctor that violates my hippa and you are not entitled to such. The lady smirked and said well its in the contract you signed. I asked for proof as well as a manager to try and expedite this number nor was i going to have dialogue with an employee whom is lying to my face. While this woman fumbled through papers looking for proof she couldnt provide a member named matt walked up trying to calm me down. I even showed him a video of my body twitching and cramping uncontrollably from working out and he couldnt believe his eyes. He exclaimed to me he would make a few calls and call me later that evening and would get my membership cancelled right away. This was not me wanting to cancel because i was unhappy with crunch but me not being able to lift anymore. Matt called me back later that night and told me it was all handled. Three months later i looked at my bank account and saw they indeed did not cancel my membership and continued to charge me. When i went back up there the manager said oh he just paused your membership because u had a health issue. Im like no he told me he was cancelling it. He then asked me for a note from my doctor and i replied “if you have a client that suddenly comes down with cancer are you going to ask them for a note from thier doctor?” He was speechless because he knew that was completely bogus. He said the only way i could cancel was to pay my next two months upfront of which i stated you kept charging me after i cancelled the first time. Regardless i was so done at this point i paid made them give me a copy of the cancellation and could not believe the way i was treated. They lied to me multiple times tried to intimidate me and were just lousy people with lousy attitudes. I wouldnt recommend this establishment to anyone ever!!!!!

The facility is always clean, the equipment is top-notch, and the energy in the gym is just unmatched. A special shout-out to Lexi, my phenomenal personal trainer. She’s been guiding me every step of the way as I prepare for my competition on November 8, and I truly couldn’t do it without her. Lexi is knowledgeable, motivating, and always brings out the best in me. Her support and expertise have been a game changer for my training. Whether you’re brand new to fitness or training for something big like I am, Crunch Fitness Parrish is the place to be. So grateful to be part of this amazing community!

Fantastic experience: I love this crunch location. The staff is always welcoming. The gym is well stocked with wipes and weights and all the equipment works. It’s also a lighter and more airy feel as opposed to other crunch locations. It’s one story and an open layout which I prefer. I love the hit room as well which has great ventilation and plenty of space for at least 20 people to work at a time which is nice! Hands down my favorite crunch location in the tampa Bay Area!

Negative experience: Walked right in and walked right back out. Not a machine squat rack or bench available. They should stop accepting memberships because its already hard to work out here no matter the time of the day. Again , read the review, its any time of the day that you go. I do not get full use of this gym. When i am here I normally bring a bag of some of my own equipment to finish my workouts as im limited on what machines I can use while there due to the number of people in here at any given time. I have to go when I can, not when you think I should go which is mixed. Ive gone in the morning, ive gone early afternoon, and evening. With that being said parking is also terrible and I can spend 20mins in the parking lot looking for parking as well.

Negative experience: I called to get assistance and after stating my issue Joey hung up in my face after he tried to cut me off multiple times. Horrible establishment. I tried to cancel my membership a few months ago but the employee suggested that I pause my account instead. They claim that they send out emails for the paused account status but I never received it. They couldn’t even send an email stating that my account is unpaused and that I’ll be charged. They refuse to assist w/ cancellations & refunds as well. I don’t even live in this state anymore which has been stated plenty of times and still they refuse to assist W cancelling my account. They are okay w/ taking your credit card information but aren’t willing to cancel your membership.

Negative experience: All but a few of the trainer never talk or look at you! You would think they would try to generate clients by speaking with people! Bad attitudes around!

Negative experience: Asking for a physical id is possibly the most frustrating and infuriating policy. wasted an hour of my time

Positive experience: Great equipment, nice team, but the management or owners should consider limiting membership. Anticipate waiting for equipment… it doesn’t matter if it’s 8 am, 11:30 am, 3:30 pm… that’s the norm unfortunately. Hoping for a solution because it really is a great gym. I’ve tried submitting to a private suggestion box but that’s not an option.

Negative experience: Used to Be Great – Now It’s Just Overcrowded and Inconsistent When Crunch Parrish first opened, it was a solid gym – clean, friendly, and well-managed. Unfortunately, it’s gone way downhill. No matter what time of day you go, the place is always packed. You’ll spend more time circling the parking lot than actually working out. There’s literally never a spot available, and sometimes you’re forced to park far away or just leave altogether. Inside, the staff is hit or miss. I usually bring a guest with me, and their ID policy is completely inconsistent. Some days they ask to hold it, other days they don’t. One staff member even told us, “We don’t take IDs anymore,” so we stopped bringing them – only to be asked for them again two days later. When we mentioned the confusion, the response was rude and snappy. It’s frustrating and not worth the hassle. There are better, more organized gyms in the area. I wouldn’t recommend this location unless things seriously improve.

Negative experience: My original review is below. It was a 5-star. I will change this review when you clean the sauna regularly. It STINKS and it has nasty, sticky sweat all over the floor. It's seriously bad IMO Here is how you can solve this: A. Clean it at least 3 times a day (it will take 5 min to mop it) And or B. Require proper attire (no shoes and a towel for your sweat) Great gym, variety of new equipment, friendly staff. Any issues resolved quickly.

Negative experience: Gym is fine, staff is fine, I am leaving a 1 star due to the cancelation policy. I'm active duty military and am being restationed in a week, they refuse to let me cancel my membership through the online website or over the phone. Completely ridiculous business strategy and bad policy. I'm emailing corporate ro get my membership canceled at this point.

Negative experience: Very disappointing experience — poor customer service and overcrowded facility. I visited Crunch Parrish today and was extremely disappointed. As a professional athlete with over 20 years of experience training in gyms around the world, I can confidently say this was one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve ever had. The manager, Cody, made it very clear — through his attitude and behavior — that he simply didn’t care about me as a potential client. He was rude and dismissive. After there was an issue with their billing system, I was left with a student employee who asked scripted questions with no real interest or engagement. I came in full of enthusiasm, excited about the convenience of having a gym close to my home. But that enthusiasm quickly faded. The facility is already overcrowded — there are clearly more members than the gym can comfortably support. Perhaps that’s why they no longer care about treating new clients with respect. After my visit, I looked up real customer reviews. On PissedConsumer, Crunch has a shocking rating of just 1.7 out of 5, and only 8% of users recommend the company. That speaks volumes. Inside the gym, I spoke with another member who warned me: this place is a scam — they make it extremely hard to cancel your membership, and referral bonuses are never honored, even if you bring new clients. To make matters worse, the locker rooms were genuinely dirty — likely due to the overwhelming number of members. Thankfully, another gym is opening in our area soon. I’m confident it will be a major upgrade from this embarrassment of a fitness center.

Fantastic experience: After being inactive at the gym in over 5 years, Crunch has really been the best. My former gym, always seemed like a shark attack from the trainers to sway you into paying extra, and never seemed to care about the people. However, that is not the case with Crunch. I was initially hesitant to return to the gym for the reason of my last gym, but I have been met with friendliness and kindness from everyone, especially a few people: - Hunter, who I initially met back in February, was super chill, and had great conversation during a tour of the gym. - Kody, I finally started my membership in April after dealing with some personal issues, and he was also very chill, awesome in showing me the gym again, and also great conversation. - Freddy, my trainer, has been an absolute blast to work with. I never thought I would do Personal training again due to last experience, however, Freddy has erased the doubt in my mind and has pushed me daily to achieve my goals and we’ve already seen tremendous success. He is very personable, great personality, and very knowledgeable and experienced with strength training as well as diet and everything that comes with this. I would strongly recommend the Parrish location, as it’s a great facility, with even greater people working there. Thank you!

Negative experience: I have been a member since before it opened in Parrish Florida approximately 3 years ago I recently purchased a 3 month training package Halfway through I was unhappy but I I knew I had signed a contract I told my trainer I was willing to have the rest of payments taken out but I was done with the training due to their lack of integrity ( in my opinion) I said I was happy to pay and not use but I wanted to cancel immediately since other members said it’s difficult to cancel due to the way they do business They were right. My trainer said I could not cancel until a small window before 3 months was up So I continued since they wouldn’t cancel which was the reason I was willing to pay and not use. I JUSTED WANTED TO BE SURE I WOULDNT HAVE TO PAY BEYOND 3 Months but since they wouldn’t cancel I chose to use package. I would constantly ask my trainer when I could cancel finally she said next week When I went to cancel I found out I could have cancelled 2 weeks earlier but I missed the date so They would deduct another double payment Because I missed deadline and they need 10 day notice A manager listened to me and said he would try” to trick system “ so it would t take another deduction from my bank account and if it didn’t work he would give a refund I waited and watched another 100 plus coming out of my checking account a week later Management has refused to give refund and they have told my former trainer to stop talking to me since I said I was going to Florida AG office of Consumer affairs and BBB I pray they dont keep taking the money out I am 64 years old and 100 dollars is a lot for services I will never use and did not want If Crunch cares I m sure they can find the tape of me talking to the manager Beware Dave McCray

Fantastic experience: I can’t thank Coach Ashton enough for everything he has taught me. When I signed up for personal training ahead of my wedding, my only goal was to lose weight—but I had little to no experience in the gym or with strength training. After entering my 30s, I started gaining weight and had no idea how to lose it. I‘m an awkward person and felt out of place in certain areas of the gym, avoiding them because I didn’t know what I was doing. Coach Ashton changed that. He made me feel comfortable and confident using weights and machines I never would have dared to try before. He doesn’t just tell you what workout to do—he takes the time to explain why you’re doing it and what it’s achieving. Beyond training, he also educated me on healthy eating habits, calorie deficits, and setting realistic, sustainable goals. Now, as my wedding approaches, I’ve not only met my initial goals but have also set new ones for my long-term health and fitness. I am incredibly grateful for all the effort he has put into helping me. If you have the chance to train with Coach Ashton—do it! I’m truly excited to continue my fitness and health journey long term! Thank you coach Ashton!!

Negative experience: Beware of their fees! My membership fee almost doubled between January 2024 and January 2025. When I went to cancel, they took an additional payment, calling it cancellation fee.

Negative experience: I previously left a terrible however i deleted it so that i can leave an updated worse review. I receive call every single day of my life from debt collectors on behalf of Crunch Fitness Parrish for a $190 debt, from a $10/ month membership, in which they refused to allow me to cancel for several months after i moved out of state. Don’t do business here

Negative experience: They will lure you in with promises of trainers and schedules that fit your lifestyle but terminate the trainer that you are training with then expect you to start all over with a new one. even better is they wont even tell you your trainer was terminated until you go in for an appointment with them and then you cant even get the training they charged you for, and THEN won't even credit you your money back because of your "CONTRACT" They do not care about you or your training, just the money! I forgot to mention, the showers have zero water pressure, no one wipes down equipment after its used, and how the lockers are flimsy with parts falling off of them. There is a reason this gym has less than a 3 star rating, avoid it at all costs!

Negative experience: I have been a Crunch Fitness member for 2.5 years now with my home gym initially being the Lakewood Ranch location. I had an excellent trainer, Nick H, who worked with me diligently and was a positive force in my life. Unfortunately, he was called in on his day off and fired for "not being a team player and other coaches have complained." I was devastated along with his other clients. Nick has bounced back and is now serving in a higher position at a competing gym which makes me so happy for him. I switched to the Parrish location and continued to work out by myself. A gentleman named Filip J offered assistance one day when he saw me struggling with a certain exercise. I didn't know he was a trainer there as he was wearing "civilian" clothes. He impressed me so much with his knowledge, caring attitude and motivational ideas that I asked him to be my trainer. During our time together, he helped me address and overcome eating disorder thoughts, emotions tied to food as well as providing an excellent workout/meal plan. I was and am on the road to success finally when it comes to eating without fear! Then I was told he was fired (on his day off, no less) for "not being a team player and other coaches complaints." I am horribly disappointed, but mostly I'm angry. Not once has anyone in management ever asked the clients how we feel about our trainer(s) and the work they are doing. If they had bothered, they would have re-considered their decision or at least I'd like to think so. I voiced my feelings to Dominic yesterday (little to no concern from him) and I will voice them again to another manager this afternoon. At the very least, management should allow clients to have a say in the performance eval of their trainer. After all, we're told often enough that we are ones who matter. It's time to put your money where your mouth is. I am making the switch to another trainer and here's hoping history doesn't repeat itself. It's long past time for management to see their members as more than just numbers on a spreadsheet.

Fantastic experience: This is a very good gym. The place is huge. Tons of equipment, free weights, squat racks, cardio stuff..you name it! They've got a spin studio, TRX room and other classes. The staff is very cool and always friendly. Everyone is welcome and treated with respect. You just gotta check it out!

Negative experience: I recently visited the Crunch Fitness location and was quite disappointed with the state of the women's bathroom. It was very dirty, which is not acceptable for any facility.I brought this issue to the attention of Dominic, general manager, at the front desk. When I explained that the toilets hadn’t been flushed and there was debris on the floors, he asked me what kind of dirty it was. I responded, “Dirty is dirty?” Instead of addressing the concern, he told me it wasn’t his job to flush the toilets and accused me of being rude when I was simply trying to communicate a problem. This experience was frustrating and unacceptable. Clean facilities and respectful customer service should be a priority at Crunch Fitness. It’s very disheartening to be treated this way by upper management. I hope the orwners takes this feedback seriously and improves cleanliness and staff training moving forward.

Fantastic experience: Can’t say enough positive things about Crunch Gym and their amazing staff. I’ve been a member from about 5 minutes after the website started taking applications a year and a half ago. Been working with a trainer since it opened and have drastically improved my health and fitness. My doctor and trainer are happy with the improvements. My trainer GMO keeps telling me I should renew my membership picture since I’m down 60 pounds and have a lot more muscle.

Positive experience: Friendly staff Well maintained equipment Average cleanliness in locker rooms Poorly maintained showers. 3 out of 4 inoperable and the 4th has no soap. Have mentioned to staff. Will keep going but take a shower at home!

Negative experience: Never any parking, bathrooms are negligibly small and filthy pretty regularly. There’s one set of water fountains in the entire gym and the maintenance done on the equipment is about as bad as an apartment gym. For this to be a brand new gym is pretty sad. If there was a better option nearby I would sign up else where.

Negative experience: Never any parking spots no matter what time of day you show up. Why would I ever pay for a gym membership at a gym that I literally can never use because no matter what time of day the parking lot is 100% full. In fact the parking lot is always so full that you will see 30 cars driving around trying to find parking spots until they eventually give up and leave.

Negative experience: I wish I could give zero stars for my experience with Crunch Fitness, but unfortunately, I have to leave at least one. My experience with their membership cancellation process has been nothing short of disheartening and frustrating, which I believe reflects deeply on their business practices. Initially, I was drawn to Crunch Fitness due to their appealing promotional offers and accessible facilities. However, it became painfully clear that their customer service is severely lacking when it comes to membership cancellation. I attempted to cancel my membership in person at my local gym. Despite my efforts, I faced overwhelming resistance and misinformation. The staff's inconsistent messaging only added to my frustration and ultimately resulted in me being locked into a membership I no longer wished to maintain and was told was cancelled. In addition, when I requested a refund for the month I was charged — despite having taken all appropriate steps to cancel — my request was met with resistance. I was given vague explanations, and it felt like my concerns were brushed aside rather than taken seriously. This behavior seems to echo numerous complaints I've read where other customers have faced similarly frustrating experiences. What is most disappointing is that Crunch Fitness appears to prioritize profits over customer service, creating hurdles for those trying to leave. Their practices border on deceptive, and it's disheartening to see a company operate with such a disregard for their members’ needs. I urge anyone considering a membership at Crunch to be cautious and fully understand the terms before signing up. The unprofessional handling of cancellations and refunds at Crunch Fitness is unfortunate. I genuinely hope that they take these issues seriously and strive to improve their approach to customer relations, as their current practices are in dire need of reform.
