Marga Hosaeus Fitness Center- Montana State: Opinions
Fantastic experience: I am now swoll.
Fantastic experience: Great staff!
Fantastic experience: Love it! I did fitness classes last year and it makes me sad that they didn't do in person ones this year but I 100% get it. I love the friendly staff and the environment makes it feel comfortable to workout in.
Positive experience: Maybe I don't like that everyone can see my whole body through the glass on the side of the building, but at least my body is becoming more powerful every minute I'm here.
Fantastic experience: Amazing fitness center!
Negative experience: Not a bad setup, but they are constantly having to remove worn-machines, and they take 5-7 months before actually replacing them
Positive experience: One star off for this gym normally being crowded and the poor layout of the second floor. The equipment in this gym is all top notch though I would recommend that you wipe it down before use since most people don't. Since the roof was fixed much of the expanded area is back which was much needed
Negative experience: Closed missing some gyms
Fantastic experience: This was my favourite gym until the roof collapsed
Negative experience: The roof collasped.....
Positive experience: Excellent gym for just about anything you can imagine doing at a gym, until the roof collapsed, closing it down until someone figures out that the engineers who designed it didn't have their stuff together.
Fantastic experience: The GX classes have a first come system, so no need to subscribe but come earlier, pay your day pass and get in there. The facilities are great and mostly without a lot of jam at noon.
Negative experience: TOO CROWDED
Fantastic experience: Someone told me they have the best sauna in town and I agree.
Fantastic experience: Gains hall next to it should be the gym, but oh well
Fantastic experience: Really great options in what machines and activities you can do for your workout
Fantastic experience: Lots of stuff to do. Super nice interior.
Positive experience: I couldn't find the roomba machine but everything else was decently surprising so that was a nice touch.
Positive experience: Mediocre at best.
Fantastic experience: Do you even lift bro?
Negative experience: Temperature in the gym is in the high 70's, does more need to be said?
Positive experience: A great place for students to enjoy convenient workouts!
Positive experience: Front Desk Staff is very friendly. has Climbing, racket ball, squash, tennis, and a pool as well as lifting equipment and tread mills. the whole facility is usually very clean too.
Positive experience: Wide variety of options, equipment, and classes
Fantastic experience: Has a swimming pool, Zumba classes, boxing and a rock climbing wall. There's a lot to do but you need to pay a lot to access them.
Fantastic experience: Lots of equipment and gym space.
Fantastic experience: Friendly staff and great fitness classes
Fantastic experience: Great gym with tons to do
Fantastic experience: I have worked at msu for years but have not used the gym until recently. I am very impressed with the level of instruction, the facilities, and variety of classes.
Negative experience: Very poor equipment in the free weight area, dress code was ridiculous (no compression shorts), and trainers also seemed like they had no idea what they were talking about. Cardio equipment was "okay" overall.
Negative experience: Subpar equipment, catering mostly to crossfitters and cycles with just a dash of treadmill
Positive experience: During rush hour the gym is a little overcrowded, but you can still get everything done. I lifted here for many years and enjoyed the facilities. If you do run into a "bald" personal trainer he is actually a great and intelligent guy. If someone is to slam weights down like many meat heads do in an attempt to get everyones attention, you will be asked to lower the weights with somewhat control to minimize damage and noise. This is common courtesy and is asked of anyone at any gym. Overall I enjoyed my experience here while obtaining my bachelor's and master's degree.
Fantastic experience: Great equipment and facilities. I can't wait for the improved climbing gym.
Negative experience: Worse fitness center I've ever been in. The layout of the weight equipment is horrible, the weight selection is crap for the amount of people that frequent the pace, and they dont even have a proper cable set. Mirrors?Ya theres like 2 of them with a million squat racks infront of them so if youre on a bench you cant use them. If the college didnt force me to pay for this crap hole I wouldnt step foot in the door. The showers are worse than the showers on a navy ship forcing you to push a stupid outdated button every 15-20 seconds and theres only 5 showers! The weekend hours suck and no one wipes down the equipment they are using. If all you do is cardio than by all means this is a great place if you like to stare at a wall out out a window, I think theres 2 tv's in the downstairs cardio area.
Negative experience: To many events reserve the gyms on the weekends and students who pay to use this facility can't even go play basketball it's not fair to the students. Hate this place.
Positive experience: Pretty much what you'd expect from a university gym. The machines are mostly very new, there are great resources such as an indoor track, swimming pool, spinning bikes, many treadmills, and just about everything else you'd want. The downside is that the hours are limited during the weekend and it can get packed during the hours just after noon when students have just gotten out of their morning classes.
Positive experience: Awesome
