Our comment from FitFit United States about Access Fitness:
Access Fitness, located in Bozeman, is a 24/7 gym that provides a community-oriented and affordable workout environment. Many members appreciate the friendly and helpful staff, particularly highlighting the efforts of employees like Mariah and Devin in offering support and assistance. The gym features a substantial selection of equipment, with plenty of machines and free weights to accommodate various fitness goals.
Users often express satisfaction with the clean atmosphere and the accessibility of facilities, noting that the gym is rarely overcrowded. However, there are significant concerns regarding hygiene and equipment maintenance; several members have reported cleanliness issues and malfunctioning machines that have not been addressed in a timely manner. These factors detract from the overall gym experience.
While many gym-goers find the pricing reasonable, some have raised alarm over poor customer service and complicated membership cancellation processes. A number of reviews mention instances of wrongful charges and unresponsive management, which has left some members feeling frustrated and dissatisfied.
Overall, Access Fitness is a gym with potential, known for its supportive atmosphere and ample workout options, but it is currently facing challenges regarding customer relations and facility upkeep.
Access Fitness: Opinions

Positive experience: I can’t say how it is but I can say when I went during working hours there was a dog behind the counter but I couldn’t find help to sign up. When I call nobody answers the phone either.
Fantastic experience: My home gym now for a year. Friendly helpful employees and members. Never overcrowded and always kept clean. I appreciate it more every day.
Negative experience: I haven't been a member of this gym or gone there or been charged for over 2 years . And out of nowhere I was charged a $180 to my card. I called for 4 days straight multiple times each day and got nothing but a full voicemail. I'll be filing criminal charges. Because that is theft. Those are fraudulent charges.I have not been a member there since 2022 it is now 2025.
Negative experience: Music is bad, facilities aren’t great, and employees are generally rude. Go to any other gym seriously.
Negative experience: The gym is okay at best—not worth the $40/month they charge. What really pushed me to write this is that they hit me with two $200+ charges out of nowhere. That’s ridiculous and completely unjustified. The staff is consistently rude, and even if you somehow get the manager’s phone number, good luck—there is absolutely no way to get in touch or get a response. It feels deliberately evasive. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Frankly, they should be reported to a consumer protection agency or the Better Business Bureau.
Fantastic experience: A great gym with a reasonable, one-time fee, and lockers. Really a good place to get your workout on. Plenty of room and plenty of equipment.
Fantastic experience: Massive selection of machines, free weights, and equipment. It was fairly busy on Saturday when I went, but I never had to wait for any machines. T
Negative experience: I paid for a year and I cannot wait for it to be over. The sauna is disgusting, under the bench and around the coals. The door has splooge marks all over it, and grunge on the window ledge of the sauna door. The showers are gross and there is black build up under the faucet of sink. Every corner is dust laden. The rubber tree has barely any color due to dust accumulation. The lockers are disgusting. Im scared of illness and bed bugs while visiting. I offered to exchange cleaning services for my membership because I own a professional cleaning company, and I got no reply. Almost all the treadmills are broken now. The fridge is broken. I couldnt find a spray bottle to wipe my equiptment down.
Negative experience: My experience with Access Fitness was extremely disappointing, and I feel compelled to share it as a warning to others. After moving out of the city, I tried to cancel my membership multiple times over the course of several months. Initially, I contacted the front desk, where I was assured my membership had been canceled. However, I later noticed I was still being charged. I then reached out to the owner, Kevin, via email. He told me he would investigate my earlier attempts to cancel. Despite his assurances, I was charged for seven additional months for a membership I couldn’t use and had explicitly tried to cancel. What’s even more concerning is that I’m not the only one who has experienced these issues. After reading other reviews, it’s clear that Kevin has a pattern of ignoring cancellation requests and continuing to charge customers. I strongly caution anyone considering Access Fitness to think twice. There are many other gyms that operate with transparency and integrity—this is not one of them.
Negative experience: Beware - I'm contacting the Better Business Bureau for deceptive practices. I cancelled my membership in person four months ago, front desk indicated my account was canceled, then come January I was charged for 4 months of gym membership. Manager said I didn't sign a cancellation form but I was not offered one by front desk staff. Deceptive business practice.
Negative experience: Gym as a whole hasn’t been cleaned in months, the bathrooms are debatably worse. Tons of equipment is either broken, or about to break. One of the least taken care of gyms I’ve been to.. and the front desk girl with black curly hair is INCREDIBLY rude, she has been rude towards me on multiple instances, I’ve seen her give other customers attitude and today I saw her yelling at a fellow co worker. I would highly recommend going to literally any other gym in town. This is what greedy ownership will get you.
Negative experience: Extremely Disappointing Customer Service I had an incredibly poor experience with this gym. Kevin (The Owner) initially agreed to cancel my membership via a scanned document emailed to him after I relocated. Despite paying for three additional months without complaint, I was charged again after Kevin’s assurance. When I called to address the issue, I was met with hostility from his staff, who berated me and accused me of lying. Kevin himself denied our agreement before reluctantly canceling the membership. The lack of professionalism and respect is appalling. This business desperately needs to improve its customer service standards.
Negative experience: They advertise 1 free day pass on their website. I went in to workout with a friend and the guy made me pay for a pass even though it was my first time coming here. Why advertise a deal you won’t honor?
Negative experience: Though I do not have a membership here, I made a brief visit during a power outage. With the lights off and no discordant abomination of tormenting bellows radiating throughout the atmosphere, the experience was so exceptionally great that I was considering getting a membership here. Word of mouth spread about the situation, and crowds of people began rotating into the facility. Upon the peak of enjoyment from this great experience, the power was tragically returned. The lights were immediately shone upon the poor members who were enjoying the experience, and the treacherous melodies came back on and ruined it all. The peaceful dark room was once again turned into a blinding chamber of hell. It appears the only good thing they had going for them was not done of their own accord, but rather as soon as the opportunity arose for them to ruin the experience, soy took over and destroyed it. I’m now listening to “Turn Down for What” by DJ snake, one of the most grievous compositions that could’ve possibly been played. Edit: I thought it couldn’t get any worse, now they’re playing “It’s Tricky” by Run-DMC. Edit 2: I’ve spent a long time writing this review, yet I am still in disbelief at how poor the music choices are here. It would be far better to turn off the lights and play no music as everyone would simply listen to their own. How tragic is this, a free gift and opportunity was given to you, yet it was squandered as soon as the power was returned to your hand? Perhaps this will be a lesson for the future in how things may be handled here. Perhaps the lesson of, “less is more.” I now will build my own gym across the street, attracting the flock of hundreds of young visitors to enjoy serenity and peace without afflictions of torment emanating from the speakers, and bright lights of misery.
Fantastic experience: Love the vibes!! Passing through from the land of Mickey Mouse and fairy dust and headed up to Canada! ✨ May God bless this gym and may it be a place of growth, healing, love, and kindness!
Negative experience: Definitely the grossest gym I have ever been to. It is obvious the gym never gets cleaned and the locker room smells like straight piss. But you can’t beat the price tag or the 24 hr access.
Positive experience: Good gym overall. Good selection of equipment. It’s never, ever busy, always know I can find machines at almost any time of the day. Some of the equipment is a bit out dated, but nothing to note of that’s out of the ordinary. Place is clean enough. Not exceptionally, but enough so. Complaints are that the memberships costs have gone up $10-$15 since I started (now it’s $50 for a month). It’s very expensive in my mind and the increase was a bit much for me. Staff is available and friendly enough. Overall would recommend because it’s more like a local gym. But I will note that it is fairly minimal in terms of services offered and amenities.
Negative experience: Earlier this year I decided to cancel my membership with Access Fitness due to the poor quality of their machines. After filling out their cancellation form and providing my one month notice, I discovered that I was charged my monthly price for two additional months after that. When I inquired about the charges, the staff informed me that my account had never been canceled, despite my submission of the cancellation form. Not only was I wrongly charged for extra months, but Access Fitness would not refund either of the unauthorized charges.
Negative experience: Good luck if you ever need to adjust your membership. Was paying for a 3 person membership and wanted to change it to 2. Called 3 times left 2 voicemails, never heard back. Went in at 10am on a Thursday and no one was at the desk. Worked out and still no one came to the desk. Finally got it cancelled and the said they needed a 30 day notice and now I’m getting changed another month.
Negative experience: If I could give this zero stars I would. Gets worse everyday, today had only one working bench for bench press, and all of the movable incline benches had pads removed. Like why remove a pad before you have the replacement?!? How dumb can you be?? Not the first time this has happened and won’t be the last, equipment constantly broken and never fixed. Tried to do cardio instead to have a stair stepper that every stair with a crack in it and the buttons not working properly. So thought hey I’ll try a treadmill incline instead only to have the incline function not work. DO NOT GO HERE, only upside is they don’t check tags as you walk in so hey if you want a free spot this is the spot for you!
Fantastic experience: Pretty slick gym Nice layout. Nat a fan of the dumb bells, but its chill.
Fantastic experience: mariah was very helpful and understandable
Fantastic experience: My favorite gym to go to when i’m up in bozeman! It’s clean and they have a great atmosphere and staff!
Fantastic experience: Getting back into shape and working out for the new year is always crazy but all the associates were very helpful with my questions and one lady went above and beyond. I believe her name was Mariah. Great gym and even better people.
Fantastic experience: Great machines great atmosphere and everybody had great energy

Fantastic experience: Mariah is an awesome employee very helpful !
Fantastic experience: Awesome gym staff are very nice too
Fantastic experience: Very clean and I love the atmosphere
Fantastic experience: A great gym with tons of equipment, and a good price for being of the only gyms in town open 24/7
Fantastic experience: The gym is extremely nice and well kept. The equipment is also really nice and useful for the workouts I like to complete.
Fantastic experience: Great gym, my favorite in Bozeman it’s cheap and it’s 24/7 people at the front desk and staff are amazing
Fantastic experience: Great place for a workout! Staff is friendly and helpful and the place is kept clean!
Fantastic experience: Good gym, nice environment. The staff Mariah and Brittany were helpful
Fantastic experience: Very clean and nice gym, All of the staff is great. Mariah was especially very helpful and friendly.

Fantastic experience: Mar and brittany were so nice and helpful! Thank you so much!
Fantastic experience: Big gym, lots of equipment. Mariah at the front desk was very kind and knowledgeable. Will definitely be returning.

Fantastic experience: Favorite gym in Bozeman, great staff and good environment
Fantastic experience: They have lots of machines and good people
Thank you for your review. We appreciate hearing directly from our customers regarding the quality of your visit. We are glad to hear that your needs here at the gym were met and had a good experience with the community and staff we've built here so far! We hope to see you again soon. Thank you!
Positive experience: $5 showers
Negative experience: Stairstepper has literally been out of commission for 5 months among other machines. What the hell guys
Thank you for your review. We appreciate hearing directly from our customers regarding the quality of your visit. We apologize for the handful of machines that are out of order. We are actively working with the machine manufacturers to get these machines back up and going again. We hope that you enjoyed the rest of your visit, and hope to see you again soon!
Negative experience: Damaged machines have not gotten attention for years
Thank you for your review. We appreciate hearing directly from our customers regarding the quality of your visit. We apologize for the handful of machines that are out of order. Fantastic experience: Was visiting a friend up here for a day and needed somewhere to lift. Access had great front desk service and was able to workout once for free. Gym had perfect amount of equipment, everyone in there was chill, the lighting was elite, and was able to just do my thing in a good environment!
Thank you for your review. We love to hear directly from our customers on how your experience is here at the gym and what we can do better. We are glad to hear that your visit was a great experience and we hope to see you again soon!
Negative experience: Got a shakedown for canceling my membership. They charged my card for 80 dollars the day after I canceled, then called me five or six hours later to say I owed another $80 before they can cancel it. Had the same card on file the whole time, doesn’t make sense that I would have late fees. I guess I need to pay $80 or they will charge me for next month. Scam
Hmm, that's definitely not how it should be and I'm concerned to hear of your experience, Michael! Please feel free to drop by or send me an email so I can personally look into this further.
Kevin
Fantastic experience: Open 24/ 7 so you can go workout anytime of the day
Thanks for the review, Patrick! I always wished the gym I went to when I was younger was open 24 hours, every single day of the year... The kind of crazy hours I worked meant that I often missed my reps at least one day out of the week. I hope that Access Fitness being open 24/7/365 keeps us being your choice for where you decide to access *your* fitness ;)
Fantastic experience: The staff and the regular members are all very supportive, the gym is kept tidy and it’s overall the best gym experience I’ve had.
Fantastic experience: Great little gym with lots of heart. It may not be the biggest or the cleanest, but it has everything you need and a friendly little community to boot. I like supporting them and they are continuously making improvements. Keep it up Access!
Negative experience: This gym used to be halfway decent and worth the cheap price tag. Now it's crowded full of people with broken equipment, some of which have been broken for nearly a year. I'm not sure what's going on at this place, but it's not good.
Negative experience: The equipment at this gym is old and broken. There are several machines that are out of order and the ones that are working are often dirty. The facilities at this gym are subpar. The floors are sticky and the bathrooms aren’t great. I am very disappointed with this gym and I would not recommend it to anyone.
Fantastic experience: Great atmosphere. Friendly staff. A great place to workout
Positive experience: I enjoy my time there at the gym. Thank you
Positive experience: They have a good atmosphere, and very friendly front desk. Some of the machines are a bit outdated but over all it's a great place to workout.
Positive experience: It's good for the price. If you want an affordable place to work out that's in good enough shape and has good enough equipment, this is a great no frills low bills option. Showers, sauna, punching bag, plenty of cardio equipment, free weights and machines. The showers have gotten really gross lately so you probably want to avoid them.
Negative experience: Dingy, grubby and depressing. Machines crammed together too tightly for proper use. Every third machine broken or missing the weight stack pin. Filthy communal rags for “cleaning” the equipment. Drinking water filter at status red. Hair all over the bathroom, trashcans overflowing. Just gross. And the lighting is straight out of that creepy bathroom in the Saw movies. The free 1 day trial pass is worth every penny. Worst gym I have ever seen - EXCEPT - they have a sauna. Extra star for the sauna.
Positive experience: I’ve been enjoying my membership here, I don’t really have any complaints to speak of except for the thick layer of ice surrounding the entire area of the building. Despite my best efforts I slip on it every single time I go to work out and it feels really unsafe. I feel like this is a lawsuit waiting to happen. Guys, please de-ice the walkway. I don’t think that’s too much to ask.
Negative experience: This gym shouldn’t be allowed to stay open. After an injury that left me unable to use their services for months I tried to freeze my account and was charged every month during that time. After over 20+ phone calls and going in to talk to someone I finally was able to have them take off my card and cancel my account entirely so I wouldn’t be charged any more. I check my bank statements out 2 months later and find that they didn’t actually take my card off so there are yet still more charges to my account. They don’t do refunds apparently and trying to get ahold of the manager is nearly impossible. the only solution is to cancel your credit card. Feels like a scam. Don’t give them any of your financial information because they will charge you FOREVER
Negative experience: There are better gyms in the area, I only chose this location due to its 24hr services, If you need to cancel your membership, make sure you do it in person, the front desk is completely useless, they may gaslight you if you ask for the manager, The owner is unreachable.
Positive experience: For the most part it is a great place but a bit crowded and there is a clique who is there every day and who tends to monopolize the bench and squat racks through several lifters.
Fantastic experience: Great
Negative experience: charging my credit card after I canceled and spoke with management and sent them cancelation proof
Positive experience: Meets all basic gym needs, and the 24 hour access option is great. Definitely the most affordable option in the area that I could find. Has a small sauna in the locker rooms. Sanitation was my biggest issue. Access to cleaning materials was very poor, with only a couple spray bottles and cloths on the floor. Many times the bottles were broken, or the rags were soaked and dirty, making using the materials difficult. I rarely saw other gym members seeking out bottles/cloths to clean their equipment after use. Not to mention the gym smelled terrible most of the time. Staff was friendly but not very accommodating.
Negative experience: Antes de ir até o local li alguns comentários a respeito, mas preferi conferi e vi que a academia tem uma boa estrutura, mas é muito mal organizada, não é limpa, não tem personal treiner, realmente precisa de melhorias.
Negative experience: Rude staff won’t be going back
Fantastic experience: Siempre serás bienvenido en la casa del señor.
Negative experience: Horrendous customer service! Completely unwilling to work with me over the phone after having to move on short notice. I would’ve been happy to pay for onetime memberships when I come back to Bozeman, but I’m taking my business to Prime in 4 corners where I KNOW I’ll be treated well.
Fantastic experience: Used my free trial and it was so nice. Great gym and great locker room.
Fantastic experience: Love the fitness classes
Negative experience: Not a fan. Tried this place out with a free dya pass. The front desk staff seemed to not care about my questions and were even making out half the time. The equipment was gross and many of the machines were broken
Fantastic experience: Great gym and everyone their is nice. It is also very affordable.
Fantastic experience: Love the intimacy of this gym. Open 24 hours, affordable, and the guests are not rude when you need to use equipment. I never feel intimidated here. Thank you, Access Fitness.
Negative experience: Extremely rude staff! They will not answer your questions and when they do they will yell at you for asking question. I was on the phone for less then a minute and I had to end the call cause she was so rude. The staff can’t handle being social with their customers. I would not recommend this gym.
Fantastic experience: Clean facility. I love all the equipment! Staff is great, very friendly.
Fantastic experience: Pretty good
Fantastic experience: Zumba was a great workout
Negative experience: Some of the staff has been extremely judgmental, rude and unprofessional on multiple different occasions. When they moved to the 7th Ave location we decided to switch to a different gym because of location and the new gym offered better amenities. One of the staff members was having a hard time closing the account so the gym owner got involved. In short, the owner was a straight up a**hole to us and was wildly unprofessional. We're happy to finally be rid of Access fitness and are satisfied with the new gym.
Positive experience: Great atmosphere for all levels and fitness goals! Some equipment/locker room accessories need to be cleaned up or repaired, but a good gym nonetheless.
Fantastic experience: Easy access. Tons of equipment. Super easy monthly memberships that you can cancel. Olympic lifting, and clean.
Fantastic experience: Always good!
Thank you, we really appreciate it.
Fantastic experience: We’re here from out of town for a month so looking for an inexpensive gym rate while we were here. Called and researched several places and this one was perfect. $20 weekly rate, free towels, free lock for locker, filtered water, and most importantly friendly customer service. It’s bare bones, no frills, but perfect for what I was looking for. I didn’t need fancy, just a treadmill and weights. Perfect!
Negative experience: Called on the weekend and a staff member told me that I can cancel over the phone. They said their manager would call me Monday. Tuesday comes and I call to cancel, different staff member assertively tells me that they would never say that I could cancel over the phone. The equipment has never been in good shape and often is broken. I have not once had a positive experience with the staff member who has red hair. She complains about members complaints.
Negative experience: The manager was completely rude with me. I was offering her payment saying that previous payment was returned. In efforts to cancel my account after giving her my card. She said I would be sent to collections and that I was being rude coming in and shaking my head. Terrible customer service.
Positive experience: Good place to work out. Love the new location personally. Is crowded, but that's every gym
Fantastic experience: Great gym, thought it was much smaller at first but it just keeps going. Lots of aerobic machines, strength equipment, squat racks and a big group fitness room. Towels and locks provided. Very reasonable day pass. Good if you are flying later that day.
Positive experience: New location is a little better than the old one. The outside looks really nice. It’s kind of hard to find things because there is a lot of equipment tucked in smaller areas. There are no mirrors on the gym floor, which makes it hard to check correct form. Staff was friendly and inviting. Locker rooms were nice and clean, however the equipment and gym floor were pretty dusty.
Fantastic experience: Thanks for the help! Excited for the new.gym. classes here are great and the management really will help you with any problem.
Negative experience: Fairly dirty and equipment is old, only redeeming quality is the price
Fantastic experience: Super
Negative experience: They have temporarily shut down and relocating. Wish I knew this before I bought a 3 month membership…
Fantastic experience: They are moving next week to on 7th street. Old place is ok but I know the new place will be so much better. They are a great place to workout and be yourself. Thanks Access Gym.
Positive experience: Be nice if I didn’t have to wait in line for a machine or bench.
Fantastic experience: They are in the process of moving to their new location. So, things are not quite up to par. As I understand things will be great at the new location. Steve
Positive experience: Decently clean. Some of the machines stink from lots of use but over all nice place to workout
Negative experience: Trained here for 4 years. The place is dirty, machines are always broken, and the staff is meh at best. Mirrors are always broken and cracked. Owner never replaces anything in a timely manner. Also I moved cities and they required me to come in in person to in do my membership which is incredibly inconvenient when you live 3 hours away. Overall, I would just recommend the Ridge, Fuel, Prime or the Cove if you’re looking for gyms in Bozeman.
Negative experience: Meets a good minimum as far as gym equipment goes. The establishment itself is great but the people not so much. The covid response has been terrifying. While irresponsible to let the patrons not use masks, I get it. But seeing what I'm pretty sure was management walking around with their mask pulled below their nose is just unbelievable. No wonder cases are surging here, this is a perfect example of irresponsibility that is causing it. Also, out of the many gyms I've visited in major metro areas this is the first where chicken legged "body builders" are completely excused in carrying around their duffle bags, setting up camps at multiple machines at a time, loudly grunting, and dropping weights haphazardly. I recommend the early morning or middle of the night. Best time to avoid the people and maybe even the covid!
