Fantastic experience: I was visiting Boulder for work and looked around for a place to train. I immediately chose Easton Training Center - Boulder because of their wide variety of class times they have to accommodate their student's busy schedules. From the moment I arrived, the staff was welcoming, the facility was clean, and everything felt very professional—just what you'd see in any quality gym. But where Easton Boulder really stood out was in their teaching approach. There’s a strong emphasis on positional training. Each class focuses deeply on a specific position, along with a couple of related chain sequences. You’ll drill these repeatedly, then move into flow rolling that starts from the position of the day. This method really helps reinforce the techniques and improve retention. Other schools might touch on a position and then spend the rest of the class rolling, but Easton makes sure students have plenty of structured time to absorb the material in context. If you're in town, I highly recommend checking them out.

Fantastic experience: Our son has been attending Easton in Boulder for both Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Muay Thai, and we couldn’t be more impressed. The coaches and staff have built a community that is welcoming, respectful, and deeply supportive. It’s not just about learning technique—although the instruction is top-notch—but about building confidence, discipline, and character. We’ve seen incredible growth in our son, both in martial arts and as a person. The structure and mentorship at Easton have made a lasting impact. Fantastic experience: Out-of-towner here: visited Easton-Boulder for early-morning classes in gi (coach Mike) and no-gi (coach Arthur), and loved them both. Easton has clean, well-maintained mats, locker rooms, and showers, and is well-organized and spacious (e.g., no Muay Thai and BJJ on the same mat). The instructors were excellent, helpful, and attentive, and the regulars were challenging yet friendly and welcoming––no attitudes and not overly aggressive (much appreciated when, like me, you're 5’8”, <150 lbs, and 57 years old). :) Communicating beforehand, McKenna was very responsive, welcoming, and informative. In short: highly recommended for visitors to the Boulder area. I will definitely return on my next visit!

Negative experience: I had a membership but I have chosen to remain anonymous.Easton customer service is terrible.The coaches are great but the pricing for a membership here makes it not worth it at all.Their policies make it very difficult to cancel your membership.You have to pay full price for a month of your membership to quit instantly. Overall the community is great but the membership policies, price, and customer service is horrible. I recommend anywhere else.

Fantastic experience: Easton is by far the best martial arts studio I've been to. They have high attendance rates for classes. The instructors are nice and push you hard. The people there know my name. They have a gym that comes with your membership as well. Coach Razz seems responsible for a good bit of what happens over there in Muay Thai and kickboxing. He is the kind of guy you want to talk to, and he runs a pretty tight ship.

Fantastic experience: Our two kids loved it -- wonderful experience at Easton. I appreciated the staff from Fernie to owner Matthew and all the instructors. I could see our kids building confidence, even as beginners to these martial arts. I know "jiu jitsu" and "kickboxing" might be intimidating terms, but we found Easton is a welcoming place. Where people come to improve themselves and experience community. I'm glad it's right there in central Boulder. Great people. Support this small business! Five Stars!

If you are looking to start your martial arts journey in Boulder this is the place! They will take good care of you and teach you excellent technic that you can trust as effective. If I live in Boulder I would have signed up after the first class.

Fantastic experience: My family loves Easton! I have two daughters in the BJJ class and so we're there 1, often 2 days a week. Every employee there is awesome! They are all nice, welcoming and helpful. The coaches of the Tigers classes are the best, especially coach Arthur, my girls favorite! I love that each class has 4 or 5 (sometimes more) coaches who are always helping with technique or just encouraging the kids when they're practicing moves. I feel like this is a mandatory life skill for my girls, so if we didn't love it, I would've found a place we did. Highly recommend!

I am from the East Coast and there isn't always a... strong or friendly culture of allowing out of town drop-ins. I was gobsmacked to find how welcoming and gracious Easton was to strangers looking to train. The facility has plenty of mat space and so there are a ton of classes each day. I had a great experience and really appreciate your openness. I hope to see you again!

Fantastic experience: I can only speak to Easton's capacity as far private lessons are concerned as I am not a regular member. Coach Arthur is the instructor that coaches me and he is the man. Best martial arts coach I've ever had. That includes coaches in BJJ, wrestling, boxing, Muay Thai, and MCMAP. His ability to explain movements, technique, etc from a step by step to a 10000ft conceptual view is unparalleled in my experience. Couldn't recommend more!

Fantastic experience: Our family found Easton over half a dozen years ago when our son was dealing with being bullied in middle school -- Easton was recommended as a great place for a young person to learn defensive skills while building physical confidence in a supportive environment. That young man is now in college and still part of the Easton community and still loving it -- and he's now gotten his empty-nesting mom to start kickboxing and I'm loving it, too! Easton feels like the "old Boulder" to me -- super welcoming, kind, and incredibly supportive -- it's such a great place for getting active again and back into shape while learning great skills with great people. Can't recommend the whole Easton community highly enough!

Negative experience: Management has gone down hill. They are nice until they are not nice. If you don’t buy into their clan they will hate you for life and you will be banned for life. Not a very good family environment. Also their summer camps are over capacity and understaffed. Easton has lost its taste and just wants your money. Good luck being fooled by their manipulation tactics.

Fantastic experience: Dropped into Easton’s War @ 4 on Fridays with a few of my team members from another gym. The staff, coaches, and every single person we interacted and trained with were so welcoming and friendly. Their facilities are clean and spacious. The gym also has a great setup with multiple rooms dedicated to BJJ, Muay Thai, and weight training. I’m sure I’ll be back to train again soon!

Fantastic experience: I was visiting for the month of July from Miami and needed a place to continue training. I had actually had my eye and had been checking out Easton for a while leasing up to our trip. Easton was everything I had hoped for and more! The staff and all the coaches and training partners were all excellent and very inviting from day one. I miss the gym & hope to be back soon! M

Fantastic experience: I visited Easton for 2 days while visiting boulder from germany and attended the kickboxing class and the bjj class. I was received extremely friendly in both of them and everything was explained to me calmly, so that I could follow with my standard english. Fantastic experience: It's rare to find someone who cares about their job as much as Arthur Yensan. He genuinely cares about his students and the quality of instruction he puts out. He obviously puts a lot of thought into his lessons and doesn't just show up and pick something random to teach us. He quickly learns everyone's name and remembers them, which is beyond impressive given the amount of students he trains. Thanks Arthur.

Fantastic experience: I went to Easton Boulder for 3 weeks whilst travelling and was thoroughly impressed. They’re lovely people and all the classes I attended were great. I’ve visited a bunch of BJJ gyms in the past and highly recommend going here if you’re planning on starting the sport or visiting the area.

Fantastic experience: This is the gem of Boulder for fitness. You walk in and regardless of it being a martial art training gym, there is no ego. There's something about hard work and intellect combining in one place that makes it that this is the place that people go to to become a "harder to kill person". Whether it's a mental strength goal (myself) or the person wants to actually become a MMA fighter, you have the opportunity to become a stronger person here. Highly recommend, there's nothing like walking in and having people call you by your name, making sure that every day is a great experience.

Fantastic experience: I started training jiu jitsu here in September and the staff has been awesome. I have classes with Coach Arthur and Coach Flynn primarily and they do a great job both teaching the technique and motivating me to get better. Also gotta shout out coach Fernie for being another rad motivating presence at the gym.

Negative experience: Instructor was insecure and unable to take criticism. You will be kicked out if the instructor sees you as competition. Terrible people, awful leadership.

There's a tremendous level of respect for the dojo, the sport, and each other that is very apparent, even to a novice like me. Very friendly and welcoming staff and the ability to take an array if classes if you want. The coaches and their assistants were always willing to help and give their tips on how to improve.

Fantastic experience: I've been to Easton for over a month now and it's such a great gym. I've specifically doing the Muay Thai program and it's so much fun. The instructors are very knowledgeable and fun to work with. The community is the best part as everyone is so friendly to each other. It's always a blast to come in after work and train. I really wish that I was in Colorado longer than just the summer, but if I get a full time return offer from my internship then I'll definitely make sure to come back!

Fantastic experience: My wife trained for two int/adv no gi sessions under the instruction of Professor Easton. These classes were some of the best instructions we have ever received. Fantastic experience: Very chill about the free days to try out their programs. I wasn't sure, so they offered a second and then I decided to join. It's an appreciated gesture when someone is thinking about getting into such a big time commitment. Coaches are personable, structure is clear, and it feels like a community. It can be intimidating for someone with social anxiety to start out here, but everyone is accepting and just happy to be amidst people with similar interests. I'm working on planting my roots here and becoming even more a part of the family feel of the place. Looking forward to getting my yellow shirt!

Fantastic experience: Outstanding! Everyone there is SO nice and friendly - the staff and the patrons. There's no "too cool for you" vibe or big egos even though the level of accomplishment there is very very high - it feels extremely welcoming, positive, and supportive of me being there (no matter what level). This is what is so amazing and beautiful to me about Easton. I like how there is a "theme" that is the focus for the week in kickboxing. And that there is an emphasis on practical technique from an instructor who not only has the credibility of obvious proficiency, but also the teaching skills to be encouraging and also help you improve. Also, the convenience of being able to show up to classes when you please is great! The facility is compact but complete and tidy. There's room for an amazing number of people in there to do their things. So grateful!

Fantastic experience: I live and train in Naples, FL. From time-to-time I visit Boulder and love training at Easton. It's my home away from home. What I like most about it is the welcoming atmosphere and the friendly training partners. I compete at Masters 6 in the IBJJF. At my age I want to train at an Academy where you know you can be challenged and not roughed up.

Positive experience: The coaches were nice and students were nice, but I could see favoritism in there and the coaches took more time on those students they favored and put them into their inner circle while the other students didn’t receive that kind of treatment and had to get privates. The Muay Thai program is good but there’s a clear hierarchy which made the environment there intimidating rather than welcoming. The head coach for Muay Thai is quite hard to read and but I can see he has his favorites and some of the other students are just not of too much importance to him. Muay Thai shouldn’t have rank, traditionally there aren’t ranks so to add that in adds another layer of complexity to the mix. I’ve come back to Easton on and off hoping for it to change but Easton is a clique environment and there’s a lot of ego. I think their programs are decent and I can see how it’s helped folks, but for me personally I just felt like I didn’t belong there.

Fantastic experience: To be honest, becoming a member at Easton has been one of the best decisions I've ever made. I was baffled when I saw how the community embraced new members. I've never felt more accepted in a new environment in my entire life. Words can't describe the kindness and respect that everyone has for each other here. Come check it out if you have ever wanted to learn a martial art or just want a new form of exercise. You're doing yourself a disservice by not coming to a FREE class. I promise that you will not be disappointed. The price for a monthly membership might seem expensive, but as a broke college student I can confidently say that it is well worth the cost. The discipline, friendships, technical skills, and overall fitness that you develop here will outweigh ANY amount of money that you spend.

Fantastic experience: My best friend and I wanted to join a kickboxing class and being dedicated yogis we wanted to have a very authentic experience so we signed up at Easton a few weeks ago and are loving it!!! I love how welcoming and kind all the students and coaches are. Everyone is super dedicated and the gym is clean! I can tell there is a general form to the kickboxing classes but all of the coaches have their own unique styles which keeps it interesting! John Ianni, he teaches the Friday 12pm kickboxing class, is by far my absolute favorite coach! He is passionate about what he teaches, gives clear direction in every class and spends time with each student to ensure we all understand what’s happening. He simplifies complicated combinations which I can appreciate being completely new to this sport! He’s uplifting and positive while also pushing us to go beyond the limitations of our mind! He makes me feel especially empowered to be a woman in class and I can’t sing his praises enough! Not to mention he’s got the best music playlists which helps me stay motivated until the very end! I highly recommend taking classes here if you’re looking for an authentic experience in mixed martial arts with dedicated coaches and students!

Fantastic experience: Classmates and staff at Easton Boulder are friendly and welcoming. Email questions are answered promptly. Waiving mat fees for visitors is very generous. Classes are well organized with instruction I can remember for months. I appreciate the "folding" of class rank lines (seniors with juniors), so that we don't need to worry about finding a partner. The detail that felt most welcoming probably seems very small, but displaying extra supplies in the women's changing room makes it clear that women are invited and encouraged to practice *every* week.

Fantastic experience: Like a well oiled machine. Full of people, students, front desk staff and instructors who all make it all work. The ability to rent makes it an even better experience when you’re just trying your free trial class. Also, the atmosphere in the kickboxing class has been open for me as a newbie, I am grateful. Fantastic experience: I had the opportunity to drop into Easton Boulder and train three days while on a trip through Colorado. The facilities were super nice, lockers, shower, very clean mats and a good setup to keep the funk down. I attended a fundamentals class for beginners even though I've been training almost a decade and found it to be really well done and helpful. I also attended an Open Mat and accidentally part of instructor training which I think is really unusual. Most schools don't bother with instructor training and just kind of leave it up to the individuals based on their experience and knowledge but without a ton of guidance. Both professor Alex Huddleston and professor Amal Easton we're very welcoming and enthusiastic. Overall the culture and vibe seem to be really welcoming and focused on very technical jiu jitsu. Great place to drop in and I'm sure an awesome place to make your home gym if you're living in Boulder.

Fantastic experience: I love Easton. I had been out for a while after a car accident and neck injury and am so happy to have just started back. I've missed it so much. I love that Easton Academy is a world class gym with great instructors providing challenging, high level curriculum while fostering a friendly, supportive community. I love how we have a common goal to help everyone get better. We push one another to our limits, while still allowing others to feel successful in order to encourage growth and confidence. I feel very at home when I'm at Easton. I have just been back for two classes since resuming my training and both times saw people who were genuinely excited to see me and have me back. Easton is very much a family. In my nonprofit work, I train people in de-escalation and nonviolent direct action and I recommend Easton all the time. People often find themselves in challenging, emotionally charged and potentially dangerous situations and are concerned about self defense. I encourage everyone to learn either Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Muay Thai or both and tell them that Easton is not only the best school in Colorado, but one of the best in the world. I share with them that they will feel fit, strong and confident in their ability to protect themselves. People will feel their presence and the energy they project in escalated situations and that alone will most often be enough to prevent things from devolving into a violent conflict. I know many people who have at least given it a try, but now that I've returned, look forward to being an even better ambassador for Easton and continuing to bring people in and help them along their journey. Right now, I am just taking kickboxing for a month to get back into shape, but my goal is to next month resume Muay Thai and advance to my next rank of Blue Shirt. I also plan to finally begin cross training in Jiu Jitsu as well, train hard and eventually compete. Ultimately, I would love to reach a point where I am able to become an instructor for Easton and also launch a program to train and support people with whom I currently work in marginalized or at risk communities. I feel like Easton is the perfect place for me to reach my potential and realize all of these goals.
