Northshore Gymnastics Center: Opinions
Fantastic experience: So lucky we found this gym for our 5-year-old. After trying a couple other spots, NGC totally stood out. It’s such a great place for kids—from the coaches to the facilities to the programs, everything’s been awesome. The older kids seem so happy too—it really feels like a little sisterhood. We’re coming back for school year #2 and have done their camps too (also amazing!). Highly recommend for any parents looking!
Fantastic experience: My daughter has an ileostomy bag and Northshore is the first place (including school, dance studios, childcare establishments, etc.) that hasn’t treated her differently because of it. It’s completely a nonissue with them and they treat her the same as they do any other kid. I really appreciate this and it has made my daughter’s confidence grow so much! She looks forward to gymnastics every week. The coaches do a great job making the environment fun while also taking training seriously, a rare balance to find in children’s sports.
Fantastic experience: My boys have been coming here for the last 3 years and I cannot say enough great things about the staff. Coach Allison and Coach Jon always go above and beyond during every class. Both of my kids have gained a tremendous amount of body awareness and confidence through their ninja classes.
Negative experience: Updated Review: our kiddo is 4&loves doing his own flips and tricks at home so we thought Little Ninjas would be perfect for him. He has sensory sensitivities&comes off shy at first. Once he warms up and gets a little encouragement, he loves his teachers. Each week was a different teacher. Absolutely no consistency. The teachers are not trained at all how to work with young kids. They talk amongst one another instead of leading and encouraging the kids. We had to actually ask the teacher to show our kid how to do something. When I asked the coach was rude and dismissive. This establishment is ableist towards any kiddo who may need added support; that includes kids that I saw who probably have ADHD. They were just constantly told they were doing something wrong. This establishment only cares about churning out a potential future Gold Medalist. That is the air that I got here. Our kiddo ASKED TO NOT GO BACK! This is the first time every he has asked to not go back to an activity (that he actually did enjoy). Lastly, we shared our concerns and they just never wrote us back. Rude. Ableist, and the teenagers working there were entitled and rude. I was hoping this establishment would reach back out but after a month, they obviously are okay that kids with disabilities fall through the cracks.
Fantastic experience: My 5yo loves gymnastics! Fantastic place.
Fantastic experience: Fun experience for my granddaughter. She will look forward to coming back.
Fantastic experience: Went there to watch my granddaughter compete in gymnastics
Negative experience: We did the little ninjas class for my 3yr as his first activity out of the house since Covid. The gym was nice but the teacher Jen didn't make us feel very welcome. Rarely said hello or goodbye and showed obvious frustration that my son had a harder time following the long sequence of instruction than the other kids. If your kids have done a gymnastics class before I'm sure they will do fine in this class. But if your child is new to gymnastics or group activities in general I would go somewhere where the staff is a little more understanding and patient with young first timers. We canceled after 4 weeks and will be trying another gym.
Fantastic experience: Great place to figure young kids especially if they're into dynamic based sports like gymnastics. Ms. Jennifer is quite wonderful, as well!!! Side note, the view from the mini-peak of the hill is quite nice facing east the Puget Sounnd and you can see as far as the Olympic peninsula on a clear day.
Fantastic experience: We tried three other gymnastics centers before starting classes at Northshore, we finally found a place where the coaches are great with the kids and the front desk staff accommodates our schedule and communicates. I couldn’t be happier with Northshore gymnastics!
Fantastic experience: Absolutely love this place! Communication is amazing, more than I could ever expect. They return phone calls and emails so quickly and address every question and concern with completion. Highly recommend this place

Fantastic experience: Excellent gymnastics coaches! Such a fun, positive atmosphere!
Fantastic experience: My kids have been going to Northshore Gymnastics Center since they could walk and absolutely love it!! They especially love the summer camps! The staff is wonderful and my kids always have a blast.
Fantastic experience: Staff was very helpful and friendly!
Fantastic experience: My preschool daughter loves it here! The classes and coaches are so much fun.
Fantastic experience: Fantastic gym and a positive atmosphere! My daughter grew up here, started classes at age 2 and competing from age 6-18. My son and I did the Mom & tot classes and he moved on to the gym/karate class. I highly recommend this gym to anyone!
Fantastic experience: My daughter has been going here for two years. Great staff, great location and a wide range of classes to choose from.
Fantastic experience: I have been at this gym for 16 years. My daughter competed for years. My son has done classes since he was 11 months old till now. I enjoy the rec class, and team options for both my kids over the years. Birthday parties are a hit too!
Fantastic experience: My daughter has been coming to Northshore for over two years, and we love it!! Coaches are fabulous, and she has a blast each week. Highly recommend
Fantastic experience: Great gym, have enjoyed my many years going here
Fantastic experience: The coaches are great! Such a fun environment!
Fantastic experience: We’ve gone to parent/tot classes and our girls have always had fun, get their wiggles out and enjoy the different options of equipment.
Negative experience: This camp is not really designed for little non-white kids. The “coaches” are kids themselves and don’t really know how to handle a little one’s needs. They seemingly have a preference for Caucasian kids which seemed like such a bizarre thing to have to observe. We tried by giving this expensive camp a solid week. But our otherwise social happy go lucky little girl started cocooning into a shy and timid person afraid of any “big kid”. I don’t recommend this place at all.
I am sorry to hear that you did not enjoy our camp. We were not made aware of any specific issues- had we been informed we certainly would have taken action. I have been in contact with our coaching staff, who are surprised by your comments. Numerous times throughout the week, your daughter was given 1-1 attention from our head coach in order to help her become more comfortable and encourage her to participate.
The majority of the camp coaches, including both lead coaches, are college or out-of-college aged individuals. The two lead coaches that worked with your daughter have 6+ years of coaching experience each. Additionally, that week that your daughter attended camp, our helper was a senior in high school.
I am not sure what you are referring to with the comments regarding "non-white kids". All of our camps and classes are open to all.
We work hard to make our camps enjoyable for everyone; however, we understand that it may not be a good fit for all and offer refunds if our camps do not fulfill your expectations.
Please feel free to call us with any further questions.
Fantastic experience: Great classes- Fun and well organized!
Fantastic experience: Great place for the kids and family fun
Fantastic experience: Have a daughter on team - level 4 and she loves the gym and coaches.
Fantastic experience: Great place! Good people !
Positive experience: My rating is due to the fact that there isn't a great parent viewing area. You have to climb up a flight of stairs and watch from above. I have a 2 year old special needs son who can't walk or sit up who I have to bring with me to watch my girls in their class and since the viewing area isn't stroller/wheelchair accessible I have to carry him and hold him the entire time. I ended up having to take my girls out of their class and start somewhere else because it became too difficult. If you too are worried about handicap accessibility try out Bothell Gymnastic Club, they have great accessibility.
Fantastic experience: Good class options and reasonable staff. We had a few issues like a broken arm (at home) and 3 year old who threw up during a class. A coach came over and without embarrassing my daughter contained the body fluid. We had to adjust our schedule a few times and the staff always helped us with the schedule. Coaches care about injuries and I saw them stop kids that were acting reckless.
Fantastic experience: I thought it was excellent, at least my niece's friends love their teams & workouts!
Fantastic experience: My kids learn so much here, about their bodies, their mind, and their team.
