HOTWORX - Bluffton, SC (Buckwalter)

Negative experience: Before visiting, I texted with someone to schedule a time and was told—more than once—that my workout would be free. When we arrived and started filling out the liability forms, I was told there would be a $20 drop-in fee, and that the free session was only for people who live nearby. That should definitely be made clear upfront. I knew ahead of time that there wouldn’t be in-person instructors, but the photos didn’t show just how small the rooms really are. I’ve been to a lot of group classes, and the instructors on the screen felt a little odd. There wasn’t really any music playing, so you could hear every breath you took—kind of awkward. I tried the cycling class and wasn’t a fan of the bikes. I haven’t done many cycle classes before, but the directions weren’t clear. They’d say “easy, medium, or hard,” but didn’t explain how many turns or what resistance level that actually meant. Again, no music in the bike room, which made it feel even more off. In the yoga room, the placement of the TV made it hard to follow along during certain poses, especially when facing away from the screen or during more complicated movements. The front desk lady, however, was incredibly friendly and helpful—by far the best part of the visit. She’s the reason I’m giving two stars instead of one.

Fantastic experience: Hotworx - Bluffton is amazing. I am a month in and have lost 10 lbs and look forward to showing up for classes. This location is always clean, the staff are incredibly supportive, friendly and helpful, the other members are great and welcoming. It's such a great environment. I highly recommend giving Hotworx a try at least once. You'll be hooked.

Fantastic experience: I love HOTWORX! Being a busy business owner, it’s hard to get a workout in or have the motivation to push myself. Being able to schedule workouts for when I have time and having a virtual instructor makes it so much easier to get myself to workout. I was worried about the heat of the workouts but it has actually helped me so much. I have a bad back from a car accident and the heat makes my back feel so much better. I 100% recommend trying a free workout but you will be hooked!

Rewards for working out that result in monetary Rewards to use for products is an extra bonus! A gym that actually pays you to work out!

Being a busy homeschooling mom plus work schedules, makes working out that much harder, but having a clean, 24/7 facility is awesome. Plus I love that I can workout how I want to with all the options in sessions, hiit classes and fx workout space!

Fantastic experience: I have really enjoyed my time at HOTWORX. The staff here are extremely polite and the other patrons are all friendly. The saunas have helped me lose weight and reach my goal especially the HIIT thunder rowing machines. I plan on staying in the HOTWORX community for a while.

Negative experience: They are very misleading when it comes to cancelation of your membership. If you decide that you want to cancel you have to give them a 60 day notice after your 90 day commitment or pay a cancellation fee of $99. The employees should be better trained to explain that clearly to potential clients.

Seeing my skills improve everyday and love that it’s 24 hours. I highly recommend it. I recommend it even more for people who get bored easily in the gym and then want to leave early. I feel engraved enough to finish and not get bored! LOVE IT!

Fantastic experience: Started working out at Hotworx when they first opened up in May 2021 and it has been my favorite gym membership so far. The Virtual instructors are motivating and workouts are simple yet challenging. Definitely worth it and will be keeping my membership! Staff is also very welcoming and friendly! Kristin has assisted me since the beginning and she has been phenomenal! I would give it a 10/5 stars if I could.

Fantastic experience: I love the workouts here.I get to switch it up every day! Plus I have made some amazing new friends. I love the atmosphere. I don’t have to worry about body image. I can just hop in a sauna and sweat it out. There is a weight area too that has all the equipment you need for a good strength workout.
