They create a positive, disciplined environment where children can build confidence, learn self-defense, and have a lot of fun at the same time. Fantastic experience: I originally followed Coach Emily to Arctic because she had been my coach at another gym—and honestly, I just knew I wanted to keep training wherever she was. Her energy, attention to detail, and genuine support make all the difference in how I show up for myself in the gym. Finding out Arctic is Palestinian-owned made it all the more special. It feels good to be part of a space that reflects my community and values. And the women-only option has really helped me build confidence in my training in ways I didn’t even realize I needed. So grateful for this space and for Coach Emily leading with strength and heart!

Fantastic experience: I started going to Arctic Training Center a little over two months ago utilizing their free week of classes to see how I would like it. After the first class I was hooked. They are very friendly and knowledgeable. They offer a variety of classes including gi and no gi jui jitsu, as well as Muay Thai classes. All coaches make it enjoyable to attend class and push you to improve. The comradery between coaches and team are second to none. Can not recommend this place highly enough.

Fantastic experience: I am so grateful that my child joined ATC. From day one, the coaches have been nothing but supportive, patient, and incredibly knowledgeable. My child was initially nervous about starting somewhere new, but the welcoming atmosphere at the school made the transition smooth and enjoyable. The training environment is both challenging and fun, striking a perfect balance between discipline and enjoyment. The coaches take time to teach the fundamentals, ensuring that each child understands the importance of technique, respect, and perseverance. They also emphasize teamwork and creating a positive community, which has been fantastic for my child's confidence and social development. My child’s experience was motivation for me to get back on the mat. So far, I have had positive experiences. The coaches and fellow ATC members are solid, respectful training partners.

Negative experience: We signed up our child at this Jiu Jitsu school, and one of the first things they did was charge us $150 for a basic uniform—just a shirt and shorts. We trusted them, thinking this was standard, but after switching to another school, we found out the same type of uniform costs only $30 elsewhere. I can’t believe we paid so much for something so simple. On top of that, the coaches were unfriendly and unkind, which made the whole experience unpleasant for both us and our child. There was no sense of warmth or encouragement, just a cold, transactional environment. Honestly, I would have rather donated that $150 to a family in need or a local charity—at least it would have gone to something meaningful. حسبي الله و نعم الوكيل — I trusted the wrong people with my time and money. حسبي الله حسبي الله و حسبي الله فيهم

Fantastic experience: Started with the free week Artic offered in hopes of trying something new, learning some martial arts, and getting out of my commercial weightlifting gym. I haven’t looked back since! Love the Muay Thai classes offered because of the intense workouts I get from them and new fighting techniques. Ownership and staff is great at well! 10/10 business

Fantastic experience: Been taking Muay Thai here for a few months now, most welcoming & knowledgeable coaches I've ever worked with. Lots of 1:1 instruction to help form & prevent injury. Still trying to fit Jiu jutsu into my busy schedule, all levels of experience will find value training at this facility. I doubt anyone that trains here has a single bad thing to say tbh.

Fantastic experience: *******IF YOU'VE EVER BEEN ON THE FENCE ABOUT TRYING BJJ - JUST COME!! ********** I walked in my first night not really knowing what to expect. Seeing familiar faces and old classmates was a pleasant surprise but what really sold me was the vibe. Sometimes you walk into a dojo and you feel like there's a bit of a "prove yourself first" stigma. Not here. I mean this when I say it, you truly feel like family the moment you're on the mat with everyone. The coaches are patient, passionate, and down to earth. They will take the time to walk you through each step and can provide detail at different levels to meet your need. Again, just to emphasize - this dojo is friendly for practitioners of ALL levels. Lastly, and something that is often overlooked is the location and parking availability. The gym is conveniently located in the corner of a strip mall with an abundance of parking spots. No need to worry about getting ticketed in the city or parking somewhere questionable that your car might get broken into. The website has the schedule posted and you can always call the number with any inquiries.

Fantastic experience: Went to the all women workout class yesterday and it was amazing! Haven't sweat like that in a while. My arms and shoulders are so sore but definitely worth it. Can’t wait to start working out again!

Fantastic experience: I started at arctic about a month ago with women’s only classes at first, all the coaches for women’s only are so welcoming, sweet, and helpful. The classes are beginner friendly and will actually push you. You will definitely see results and continue to have motivation to come because of how welcoming everybody is. I also definitely recommend the Jiu Jitsu classes. If you’re a beginner Alex & Dania will explain techniques so you truly understand them. They are so patient and such amazing instructors. I am so happy i joined this gym, i would recommend it to everyone! :)

Best Bjj facility in the Midwest. Lifelong friendships and coaches like these are hard to find. Incredibly grateful to know everybody associated with the gym.

Negative experience: Would never recommend this to anyone- they don’t have enough space to provide training, using random trainers to train kids so to save money- won’t provide details about their programs and will continue charging your credit card. I wish there was a zero rating / stars to give them.

Fantastic experience: My son Noah and I absolutely adore this place! Arctic training has had a remarkable impact on my 11-year-old son in every aspect. Not only have I noticed significant physical improvements, but also a transformation in his overall demeanor. His posture has improved dramatically, boosting his self-assurance. Moreover, he has developed a newfound passion for exercise. Dania and her team strike a perfect balance in training children, instilling strength, discipline, and motivation in them.

I signed up my child 3 months ago with the hopes of helping him build his self confidence and learning how to defend himself. And this place along with the AMAZING coaches have completely in 3 short months transformed him in many ways. He is always so confident and eager to show his peers what things he can do and what he learns. He has found a passion in training here and as a mother this is the greatest feeling. Fantastic experience: Needed to find a place to train after moving back to the Chicago suburbs and found this place. One of the owners, Alex, was very welcoming, gave me a breakdown of everything and the culture at the school. Since then, I’ve joined and signed my kids up. Great mix of Gi, NoGi, wrestling classes, and they also have striking classes. Lots of class times, and they have two different age groups of kids classes, which I think is a big plus compared to other schools in the area.

Fantastic experience: Arctic Training has the Best women’s workouts. As a hijabi, this is the first place I have been comfortable working out. The small, private classes are like having a personal trainer in a Muslima safe environment. I have been training with Dania and her team for only two weeks and see more improvement in my strength and flexibility than a year on my own at Lifetime. The boxing has been incredible at reducing my stress and anxiety. Every class is different, challenging, and fun! I actually look forward to going to the gym each day. The youth classes line up well with the women’s class, so I am able to have my kids train jujitsu at the same time I am training. The youth classes are fun and challenging. I am starting to see an increase in their confidence and strength in a short period. My husband just started his jujitsu class and loves it as well. It is a great place to get our whole family fit. They also offer great discounts for families. If that is not enough, the owner is the first Palestinian black belt in the country. I am so proud of Dania and excited to see my family progress at Arctic Training Center.

Fantastic experience: PLEASE READ: I have been Training with Alex, Rudy, and Dania for about 10 months a ATC now. I just want to say (I have trained all over Chicagoland, and other states) and Arctic is hands down the best gym I've been to! Alex Seaver completely refined my game, his teaching is bar none the best ! in the short time I have been there he has taught me lessons that will mold my game forever. The kids program is hands down the best in the area. Not only did they welcome me with open arms but also are make sure everyone feels welcome not matter age, belt, experience, etc. If you are thinking about training here PLEASE sign up, this is the place you need to be! Fantastic experience: Structured yet free flowing gym. The atmosphere in regards to the instructors and students is encouraging, to say the least. Instructor Seaver(s) and their team have cultivated an environment that allows comprehensive progress at a rate thay may surprise you. White belts to Black belts alike are beyond interested in seeing the improvement of anyone who takes their Mma/Bjj classes. Also very competitively priced.

Fantastic experience: The one thing I feel that truly sets Arctic apart from other gyms is how rapidly students progress in Jiujitsu. I have been at Arctic for a few years now and consistently see new people coming through the doors and next thing you know they are demonstrating a sound grasp of BJJ. It is easy to see Arctic has a great faculty and pays close attention to keeping it clean, there is also a tremendous amount of classes to fit anybody’s schedule. However, what separates Arctic from other gyms is where the pavement meets the road, and what I mean by that is the performance of its members, and how they excel at the sport. The gym has a culture that is hard to articulate but is dedicated to quality Jiujitsu in a positive team atmosphere . The culture is sustained by top rate instructors who truly have a love for jujitsu and a team that wants to see you grown and succeed!!!!

Fantastic experience: I've been to many all women's gyms/centers. Artic by far has the most intense workouts out there. If you want to get in shape and challenge yourself this is the place to be! Husband and son does BJJ- an intimidating sport/art but they make you feel so inclusive and part of the pack right away. It's done wonders for my son's confidence and skills. Fantastic experience: I love the women’s Ramadan camp, especially the rotation of workouts. Additionally, I like that each workout is versatile and just as intense as the previous one. The trainers are amazing; they are always available to support me if needed. Most of all, I feel great after every workout. I highly recommend this place. You will not regret it!

Fantastic experience: If you’re looking to get in shape at a pace that’s right for you, the Arctic Womens classes are amazing. All of the instructors are motivating, fun, and have great expertise. I joined for the Ramadan fitness camp from being pretty much sedentary, and I feel great!

Fantastic experience: Been training with the Seavers for almost 5 years. The dedication they put into their students, classes, facility etc ever continues to grow stronger. Not only Arctic has top notch coaches but the teammates I’ve met through here are one of the best communities you can get to know and involved in. Give ‘em a shot if you so please ;)

Fantastic experience: ATC is a quintessential bjj ‘safe space’. Excellent instruction, a beautiful facility, friendly environment acceptant of all cultures/religions/lifestyles etc, with overly hospitable and friendly students ranging from white belts with poorly tied belts, to BJJ+Judo black belts. The class structure emphasizes only 2-4 compatible techniques to really enforce them into your game. They have a new, completely separate womens-only area that I’ve (and no guys I know) literally never stepped foot in. For women looking to train coed, Alex Seaver employed a [brown belt] pit bull named Dania Seaver to watch over and work with ladies looking to train without being mauled by 200lb+ chimps. For anyone looking for a cardio challenge, Thursday night ‘King of the Hills’ are second to none. I’ve personally died on two different occasions. Tldr: nice place, great instruction, excellent bodies to work with, the most female friendly gym I’ve been apart of, and a kids bjj program.

Fantastic experience: I have Been here for a year and a half and I can say the coaches truly care about their students, program and facility. Coach Dania, Alex ,Khalid,rudy and Angelo do a great job. My daughter and son are also in the little wolves class and there are always plenty of coaches watching all the kids. The facility is extremely clean and the staff is organized. Look no further if you are interested in Brazilian jiujitsu, striking , youth programs or women’s only programs. The prices are extremely reasonable .

Fantastic experience: Hands down the best martial arts training in the area. The kids program is top notch. Discipline respect and technique are taught here. No coddling. It's been such a positive experience for my son. I've been so inspired by what I've seen that I've joined the adult classes. The owners and the instructors are doing what they love and it shows.

Fantastic experience: If your looking for a BJJ gym to train at in the area this is a really good school. Offers a good variety of classes! Lot of tough training partners that are a variety of different belt levels and a good variety of weight classes to train against.

Fantastic experience: I have been to many gyms before Arctic, and Arctic by far and away is the best. They offer a unique family environment and excellent coaching/mentorship in their kids, youth, and adult programs. They also have unique women's only fitness and BJJ programs that my wife has been enjoying for several months now. I would highly recommend for all ages.

Fantastic experience: The environment is fun, structured, and respectful. Coaches Alex and Dania, along with Coach Angelo provide elite level technical instruction and focus on the details. Their scheduling provides a wide array of ways people from different walks of life can find the opportunity to get their training in. Top it all off, the kids classes are run efficient with nearly a handful of coaches making the student to coach ratio favorable for the child's learning environment. The prices are also favorable in comparison to most BJJ academies in the area. HIGH RECOMMEND!
