Charter Fitness of Palos Heights

Negative experience: Great people, great gym. God forbid you let someone in who looked like they were struggling with their Bluetooth app in or Jake and a woman at the desk is going to contact you about a $15 tailgating fee.

Positive experience: Not a big corporate gym. Plenty of equipment. Some items like bands and mats need to be replaced, and just more of them in general. Friendly staff and good layout

Negative experience: one time i went in with a guest they didn’t have a problem and told me it’s okay, few weeks later i did it again the dude with tattoos at the desk said no, like idk if he just really serious about his job or what but don’t change up rules then say” it costs few dollars extra” everyone, planet fitness is the same price as CFX and allows guests, that’s all i an gonna say.

Fantastic experience: Been coming here in the morning for months.Equipment is always working and if it is down there very little turnover plus recently got some new treadmills

Fantastic experience: Love this gym! So easy, convenient, and clean! Not to crowded and has all the machines I like to use in my workout routines!

Negative experience: I have been a member for a few years and was just charged a DOUBLE yearly fee b/c I wanted to remove the multiple gym option from my account. I was lied to by the staff who said all you have to do is cancel the current account and re-sign up for the cheaper one and there wont be any extra fees. They lied and of course never stopped the multiple gym payment on my cc and also charged me another yearly fee of $30 when I just paid it in April. I called b/c there wasnt a credit on my card like they promised, and the general manager told me that he wont remove the yearly fee that I already paid and he is double charging me b/c I'm the one who wants to downgrade. Complete rip off scam artists. They must be hurting. I told him that he knows what he is doing is wrong. He also said he's the only boss and there was no one else to talk to and hung up on me. who owns this place? Find another gym this place is disgusting and no one competent works there.

Fantastic experience: The staff, as well as the GM, are very personable, friendly, welcoming. The facility is very well kept, clean, and a wide variety of gym equipment. After work hours are bustling, but the wide range of gym goers here are friendly and respectful. Locker rooms and shower areas are kept very clean, unlike other gyms I've frequented closer to me. Overall a great atmosphere to get a workout or group training.

Negative experience: Have been going here for over 4 years. Literally never see the weight equipment get cleaned, parts of the ceiling having missing pieces of the square inserts/ you can see the water damage in the ceiling. Never any new equipment/poor quality equipment in general, instead of buying new treadmills or weight equipment they just have someone keep fixing them which in turn ends up continuing to break. They keep increasing the price but nothing improves. Also I’m sure half of the high school kids in there do not have memberships and their buddies just open the door for them which you make it so easy for them to do.

Negative experience: I don’t see how this place can last. If there are staff there then they are both on the computer all the time. What could be so important online? Two people eternally behind the computer. I regularly tell whoever is there that a few pieces of equipment are coming apart. Following week and nothing has been done. I tighten screws on the back extension every single time I go in for the past few years. Other equipment needs repair and maintenance but they are too busy on the computer. Leg extension is coming apart (I used to own a gym) so I tell them exactly how to fix it. Following week it’s falling apart again! One set screw people! One. Set. Screw. The people behind the desk LOOK like they work out but if you work there and workout there, how can you be oblivious to the repairs and maintenance needed on the very equipment you use? As a highly mechanical person, I just get frustrated when I’m in there. Also, I avoid going in the evenings like the plague. High school kids, 4 to a group, sitting on the equipment, scrolling on their phones between sets for 10 minutes. And, ya know what… enough with the gum all over the sidewalk out front. Get your faces from behind the computer and pressure wash the sidewalk like every other respectable business out there. It’s like no one cares.

Positive experience: Used to come here staff and equipment is great. Nice location that has what you need but when it’s crowded its bad. Could use a sauna/steam room and a location closer to burbank area. Would go to countryside but that location is always packed. 4 stars but hope you can bring a location closer to me.

Fantastic experience: Clean and well kept gym!!! Nick and Cassandra are fantastic personal trainers. I enjoy the sessions and am definitely much stronger since I started with them. I definitely recommend this location to anyone who is looking for great quality personal training.

Fantastic experience: The staff at CFX has been awesome to me. They are incredibly friendly and helpful! Not to mentioned their equipment is always maintained and facility is completely cleaned. I have been a member for 3 years now and hands down the best choice I have made. I always look forward walking through the doors and always feeling great when I leave! I would highly recommend this gym to my family and friends!

Fantastic experience: This is the absolute best gym in the Chicagoland area. The staff are fantastic and the gym is the cleanest I have seen in several years, and I’ve been to them all. Not sure what the person is on about who said the equipment is poorly maintained - they must have been at a different gym

Fantastic experience: Jake and his staff are awesome, had an issue and it was addressed professionally. I appreciate his follow up and look forward to getting my workouts in at the Palos Heights Location! Charter fitness is a breath of fresh air! I was a member of XSport Fitness for over 10 years and could not handle it anymore. The manager Mark and assistant manager Nick of Charter are very pleasant and keep the gym spotless. They are very approachable, listen to feedback, and seem genuinely interested in what the members have to say. The entire staff has been wonderful to deal with, I am thrilled I left export after all these years of torture! I feel revived and new again!

Fantastic experience: I came in today for a guest day visit to get a look around, and I got a warm welcome by a worker named Dan Green. He showed me around and I had a great experience. I even asked if he wanted to get a quick pump in, he politely declined. Overall great experience.

Gneral manager Ryan Does an exceptional job of making sure that every member is welcomed And is set up to succeed in their workout. Beyond that He makes sure that the gym is clean And there is a positive vibe, I've been a member of charter fitness for a number of years and no one does it better Jerry :)

Fantastic experience: This facility is Fantastic!! Everyone within 15 miles should make this their destination of choice for a workout!! Ryan was so helpful with explaining sign-up options that I switched to the family plan immediately. He was courteous & professional! He printed out all the necessary documents & highlighted the advantages I would receive for consolidating my accounts. He was very patient with all my questions & made sure I picked the best plan for my family!! Gayle was also a real joy to speak too! Energetic & helpful, She is a real attribute to the Charter Franchise! Overall, My Charter Experience in Palos was a 10 out of 10!!!

Fantastic experience: My husband and I joined almost a month ago; and we are so happy that we did!!! We checked out many other gyms and found this Charter Fitness to be the best. It has a great atmosphere with a helpful and welcoming staff. Nick is awesome and very friendly! He always greets everyone with a smile as they come in and says bye when they leave. This gym is ALWAYS very clean and they have a great selection of equiptment. We couldnt be happier with our choice and would highly recommend this gym to everyone!!!

Fantastic experience: I joined charter in May of 2019. Nick, the fitness manager, was super welcoming especially when I wasn't sure if I wanted to join or not. This gym is one of the best gyms I've been to in the area, and I've been to several (lifetime, LA, and planet). You can't pass up a great price and a clean environment. The staff are all very warm and welcoming. The best part about the charter location in Palos Heights is the community feel and the cleanliness. If you're gonna chose charter fitness..I would highly recommend the Palos Heights location.

Fantastic experience: My favorite place to be aside from my own gym. Great atmosphere, friendly helpful staff, clean!!! The new upgrades and equipment are stellar I'm always on the green or in the private rooms when there aren't classes. Most gyms dont allow anyone else beside clients to use their PT rooms and charter does so that's probably one of my favorite things about it. Hopefully one day they put in a sauna!

Fantastic experience: I love it here! It's always clean and with the recent addition, they gave it a fresh new look. There's plenty of space, and the new equipment and machines are really nice. The staff is friendly and always willing to help if needed. I've been going to this gym for years and it's a great community of people, perfect for all ages.
