Fantastic experience: Love it. This gym has everything, strength, cardio, boxing bags, heavy lifting, pilates, peloton, everything. Best thing I liked about it is, classes that it provides. You can join any yoga/pilates/zumba/cycling all sort of classes, no other charges. Plus it has sauna bath. You would see people of all ages. Its open everyday. It provides two type of membership one is approx 10$ cheaper per month, it suitable if you are late evening goer.

Fantastic experience: I call this “the gym where everybody knows your name.” Many of the staff have been there since it’s first opened. Everybody is friendly, everything is clean and bright and cheerful. It’s just a very, very comfortable place to call your gym!

Fantastic experience: I have been a member of RCSC since 2017, and I have loved my experience here. The staff is very friendly, the equipment is very useful and has been upgraded at least twice since I've been going there. As someone who enjoys lifting and cardio, I find that I have more than enough options for my workouts. The parking lot can get quite crowded at peak hours, but even then, the surrounding area has ample space to park.

Positive experience: Been a member for approximately 20 years. It's still a great value for the rate. Occasionally there's a bit of flippancy when trying to engage some employees. So today I reported to the counter staff (who was talking to a trainer when I approached) that the motion-activated water dispenser wasn't working. Trainer commented something about it hadn't been working before but he thought it had been repaired. Response from counter was "nothing I can do about it." Mine was "not expecting you to do anything but I'm letting you know." She's usually pretty friendly, but, really. Yes, I know she's not the repair person and was engaged in conversation with a colleague, but how about receiving that bit of info and acting like you cared to pass it onto someone authorized to make a decision--or maybe even place a sign on it so members will know that it's out of order?

Fantastic experience: I did a trial here for free and decided that I'm really more of a homebody so I just train at home now. However, I must say of the 20+ gyms I've worked out at in the past. This one was excellent. Clean, friendly staff and customers. Free towel service included. The Barbell setups were very nice especially the deadlift platforms which have the only full size Deadlift Jack in the DMV area aside from the very far away locations of The Shop Gym, VA and maybe the other powerlifting gym out near Baltimore/Laurel area. I checked out OneLife, LAF, DMV, Iron, Planet Fitness etc. This is the only gym in about a 20 mile radius that has a legit deadlift jack. Lol. In case you're trying to become a State champion at deadlifting and could use that extra help to load 400lbs on the bar :) Or for laypeople who don't wanna awkward crouch while sliding 45 lb plates on and off. The dip bars are very nice. I wish for them to perfectly align the gymnastics rings that'd be cool. Though I'm probably the only one who even notices that :P Also there's a good hanging heavy bag and very nice long straight metal pullup bars. Their decline situp bench upstairs is also dope. Very comfortable way to build abs with a weighted dec situp. As a calisthenics enthusiast this is BY FAR THE BEST PULLUP BARS of any gym in the area. Unless you're training at a calisthenics park of course but I'm not about pullups in the rain even though it looks cool in movies. Other than that they have the regular group classes and cardio machines which I *Ahem* Never used lol XD BONUS ITEM: The food at Parkway Deli next door is freaking amazing please eat there at least once in your life and you can get cheap delicious healthy takeout after your workout to bring home too! Also Hadji was such a great sales rep and gym manager person. Really appreciated his TOP NOTCH customer service. Wish you well RCSC

Fantastic experience: Great gym and friendly staff. Nice mixture of equipment for strength training, cardio, and group fitness classes. Overall a well equipped facility. The sauna is nice and the gym/amenities are cleaned frequently throughout the day. Never too packed during peak hours. The owner, Marc is there frequently as well and you can tell he takes pride in his club. They also host events on a regular basis and there is definitely a strong community feel here. Always love that in a gym! I recommend checking this place out for a membership over other nearby gyms.

Fantastic experience: My wife and I have been members for many years, and RCSC is an important part of our regular exercise for health. There is a great array of well-maintained equipment, a large open class area, and friendly trainers to support our needs. Yoga, pilates and many different types of classes for all fitness levels. It is a welcoming environment to train in.

Fantastic experience: Really nice gym, equipment is all in good shape. Weight room is good and has 3 squat racks. Any time I've been here after work on a weekday I never have to wait to use one - which is a rarity in my experience. Staff is very friendly

You won't feel self conscious about not being ripped/trim. All the equipment you could ever need. Great classes. Great trainers.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been a member at Rock Creek Sports Club since I lived around the corner in 2015. I get sweat & heart action on the rower, elliptical and in Marge’s action packed spin class twice a week. I get core strength, endurance, power & more from my trainer Kolon. He’s kind & patient but prepared to be DRIVEN!! In 2020 I moved to Rockville; I drive 12 - 13 miles to Rock Creek Sports Club! I kept my membership through the pandemic! In other words - Rock Creek Sports Club is a great place for serious fitness enthusiasts. The staff is very patient, knowledgeable & professional…and are adept at making the whole fitness experience enjoyable! All of this seems to have attracted a really fun diverse and engaging group of patrons!! GO CHECK IT OUT

Fantastic experience: We’ve been members for about 6 months and it’s such a relaxing and inviting place to spend time. I especially love the pop up bootcamp the owner hosts at 2pm. The trainers are warm and friendly and even the cleaning staff are super lovely and congenial. Dry sauna is available and you could practically eat off the bathroom floors they clean all day like literally stay in the shower area cleaning.

Fantastic experience: I've been a member of several gyms in DC but none have the combination of equipment, space, staff and trainers that RCSC has. A great place to work out for people at all levels of fitness. My wife and I love it and couldn't recommend it more?

Fantastic experience: To be perfectly honest, I hate coming here. Why? Because I hate to exercise. But I am in my 70s and I need to exercise to maintain my mobility and health, especially when every query to the doctor gets a “You know you’re getting older” response. I looked at this club for years as I gobbled down food at the deli next door. After eating one day I walked in and signed up and am glad I did. The club has all the classes, all the machines and free weights and the instructors and management really care about you. And the cherry on top is the cleanliness. I have never been in a gym this clean. Even during COVID, ok we’re not really out, management took extra steps to keep us safe. There is a state-of-the-art air filtration system. I hate working out, but I LOVE this place.

Fantastic experience: If you don’t know where to start, come here. I have lived in Silver Spring nearly 10 years, walking distance away from Rock Creek Sports Club, but it took me that long to check it out and become a member. In order to save money, I joined franchise fitness studios or told myself I would utilize the free gyms in my apartment building. However, I didn’t use the free gym and the franchise studios were impersonal, had massive instructor turnover, and consistently broken equipment. An ad for an Open House on Member Appreciation Day (March 2023) lured me in on a Monday morning and the manager, Hadji, greeted me with warmth and compassion. Everyone that walked in said hello and caught up with the front desk staff. Hadji introduced me to some of the members - all of whom had been there for years! I got a tour and update on equipment that was just replaced and the Olympic lifting studio that was recently erected downstairs. What I came for, though, were the classes. I needed the motivation and structure to get back to the gym. I had heard good things about the Zumba instructors, who taught free classes on the Silver Spring plaza in the summer. Not only is there a Zumba class here, but a Dance Party class and classes for older adults! There is a membership for off-peak hours ($49/month), but you don’t need it. I went to a 6pm weekday class and there was plenty of all kinds of equipment available. Plus, the website has a tracker that lets you know how full the gym is at any given time. There is towel service and amenities in the locker rooms. There is a sauna. There are personal training packages with trainers who (again) have been there for years. There is a private, Pilates studio. For a no-contract, month-to-month membership it’s $70. As of October 2023, I am still here and invested in coming at least once a week! I have taken most of the classes and have a personal training membership with Tina who is AMAZING. And yes, I still get greeted by manager Hadji every time I walk through the door! As a young person, I am learning that cheap sacrifices quality. I am proud to invest in a small business and in my community. I am proud to be a member of Rock Creek Sports Club!

Fantastic experience: If you are looking for somewhere that has everything but isn’t packed like the other gyms in down town silver spring, this is it. The equipment is always clean. The staff are always super nice. Marc is the GM there and he is always very friendly and helpful. Hadji remembers every single person by name so you always feel welcome. Edwin is part of the morning staff and he makes walking into the gym early morning even better. Fantastic experience: I'm doing this gym about a month ago, and I love it. It's incredibly clean, the staff are friendly and helpful, and it's never crowded (at least for us early birds). The patrons generally seemed quite friendly as well, people always smile and say hello. A sharp contrast from mega gyms. As an aging athlete, I spend a lot of time doing physical therapy and stretching as well as working out. I've never seen a gym with more specialized equipment for those pursuits. From TRX to lamb-shaped Bulgarian Bags (it's a thing, I swear!) to every size kettlebell, they have what you need to stay fit and healthy. I love that this gym is always finding new ways to accommodate their members, including low impact cardio equipment for aging adults. No ageism here! Well I'm not in need of that equipment yet, I know where I will go when I do. I don't spend a whole lot of time in the basement free weight area, but it seems pretty comprehensive. They pack a lot of goodness into this place!

He knows everybody's name and is always happy to help. His inspirational leadership permeates the club, as reflected by the friendly front-desk staff who greet you with warm smiles. Outside, there's always ample parking. Inside, cleanliness prevails with tidy bathrooms and well-maintained equipment. The gym's clientele is uniquely respectful and focused on their fitness. (Unlike LA Fitness — you won't be bothered by swarms of litterbugs, grunting meatheads, and other sundry jerks.) Lastly, Hadji and Rock Creek recently unveiled an expanded basement fitness area, showcasing their commitment to continuous improvement. With its exceptional staff, top-tier facilities, and focused atmosphere, Rock Creek Sports Club is a gym experience gem!

Fantastic experience: RCSC is a wonderful community gym and I must say, it exceeds all my expectations! The staff here are exceptionally friendly and welcoming, making me feel right at home. It's rare to encounter such a warm and supportive environment. It honestly makes my workout experience even better, and I'm always excited to get a session in. The gym also has a great range of equipment. Lots of cardio equipment, plyometrics spaces, and a range of resistance bands and tools for my specialized training upstairs. While downstairs is more tailored towards heavy weight lifting and free weights, with lots of great pieces of equipment. Everything is well-maintained, clean, and easy to use. Overall, I always have a fantastic time at this gym. The friendliness of the staff, combined with the amazing equipment, made for a truly memorable experience. I would highly recommend this gym to anyone looking for a fun and effective workout in a welcoming environment. Keep up the fantastic work!

Fantastic experience: Rock Creek Sport and Health Club is flat out fabulous. I actually look forward to going over there and exhausting myself. I can't think of higher praise than that.

Fantastic experience: I joined RCSC during the pandemic and it was one of the best choices I made. Their group fitness classes are top tier (spin, barbell/body pump, Zumba, Pilates, etc) and the staff is super friendly. Avoid the downtown traffic and parking trouble -RCSC has its own lot and I always find a space. The facility is bright spacious, and clean with a ton of equipment (cardio, free weights, and weight machines, etc). Gymtimidation and gimmicks aren't a thing here and I love that, it's the kind of gym where you still get a towel when you walk in and the staff will greet you every time. It’s honestly just a great workout environment -surprisingly it’s never overly packed and it's inclusive so there's a good mix of ordinary people! You can download the RCSC app and get access to their online classes, easily register for their sauna and their group fit classes, and check the crowd meter to see how many folks are in the building to decide if and when you want to go in. It's less than 5 min from downtown silver spring and the pricing is excellent for all that you get. With so many niche-y gyms cropping up downtown I am proud to be a member and support a local business!

As a woman it can be hard to find a gym that feels safe and comfortable, but RCSC always feels like a non-judgmental second home. I couldn’t recommend it more!

They also have plenty of classes that allow walk ins so I don't need to worry about rushing to reserve a spot or if I miss a class. The monthly rate is also affordable. I highly recommend this place but I also don't want everyone to find out about this hidden gem gym.

RCSC has recently updated the facilities and the equipment. The trainers are top-notch and RCSC is always coming up with innovative programs/series that help us all meet our fitness goals. Negative experience: small facility with fewer amenities than other gyms for similar membership fees. the locker rooms could be kept cleaner, and my friend has told me that he’s seen water bugs in the men’s locker room sauna

Fantastic experience: I’ve been a RCSC member for over a decade and have yet to find a better gym in the area. The staff and trainers are terrific - definitely an “everyone knows your name” vibe. Plus, the recent renovation and equipment installation has made the place even better than I thought possible.

Fantastic experience: Truly satisfied with my gym membership. The staff, group fitness instructors (who doesn’t love Marcus)and trainers are all gems! But the GM Hadji is just a wonderful leader and overall great human being. If you are looking for non-toxic gym environment where members and staff are appreciated plus terrific equipment, space and classes at a great price then this is the place for you.

Fantastic experience: Great gym and great staff. I’ve used many gyms over the years and RCSC is by far the best. The equipment is great and most of the cardio equipment is brand new. The layout on both floor allows for you to work out the way you want.

Fantastic experience: Best gym I have ever been a member of! The staff are all super friendly and helpful! It has all the equipment you could ever imagine all laid out between 2 floors! The thoughtfulness of the entire gym is focused on the gym members and workout enthusiasts! I will say though, that the absolute best part is how clean this gym is. Their cleaning staff is always at work/non-intrusive and never leave, not even one corner untouched! AMAZING!

Fantastic experience: Approximately 5 years ago my wife and I joined this gym. In those 5 years I've found a community of kind, decent, like-minded fitness enthusiasts from all walks of life and from all fitness and experience levels. This is key because we all feel self-conscious at times and the inclusive nature of this gym enables a comfort I have never felt in a corporate gym, university gym, or a climbing gym. Coming from an athletic background and a life of outdoor exercise, I was wary about a gym atmosphere of lunkheads and gym rats I've seen in other gyms and the judgment that comes with that. RCSC could not be further from this aesthetic. Trainers go out of their way to help you if they see your form potentially causing injury and, as such, there is a cooperative fellowship-type feeling here that trickles into every member. Perhaps the most comforting aspect of this gym is that all walks of life workout here. From young people in their teens to septuagenarians and beyond. The atmosphere here is that of the surrounding community, very inclusive of all. Silver spring is a melting pot of backgrounds as is the gym. Nobody is judged, nobody is excluded and everybody is welcome. This lends to the feeling that we are all here to support one another whether we bench 405 or can only safely walk the treadmills. The gym is probably the most well-apportioned and cleanest gym in which I've had the pleasure to work out. Even during the pandemic, they strove to keep everybody safe by installing air filtration and reinforcing rules like cleaning the machines and mask wearing. As those times have thankfully calmed, the attitude of looking out for each other has remained and there has been no lapse in the cleanliness of not only the locker rooms but the exercise rooms and the group class rooms as well. This truly is an exceptional gym and a wonderful community and I am grateful for the staff, management, trainers and members for giving me a place to optimize my biological potential while feeding my need for community and connection. Thank you Rock Creek Sports Club!

Fantastic experience: I've been a member here for probably over 15 years. My husband and I joke that it's our "community center." We've been so happy with the people, the cleanliness, the equipment and overall vibe of RCSC long before their recent renovations. The recent upgrades in space and new equipment put it over the top as far as value for your dollar. We're always met with friendly, familiar faces and are so grateful for the role the place has played in our health. It's an inviting place for all ages and all faces.

Fantastic experience: If you are a serious fitness person to someone just starting back, Rock Creek Sports succeeds in meeting you at your level. With two floors, you can free-weight downstairs or stay on the main floor and use machines or take a class. The age range is noteworthy -- truly from young to old, and the atmosphere is welcoming, from the front office staff of Hadji and Mark to the trainers Michael, Sharon and the rest of the team. I give them 5 stars.

Negative experience: Staff could be friendlier, for a small gym I thought it would be more of a community but it’s more so a every man for themself mentality as if you’re at a Gold’s Gym (except you’re paying more for a place with less amenities). Also I had mentioned seeing a mouse moving around on the open ceiling while using the stair master to the front counter person they said they would tell management but I’m sure nothing was said as I saw another (maybe the same) crawling from one end of the ceiling to another 3 weeks later.

Fantastic experience: My husband and I have been members of Rock Creek Sports Club for a few years now, and we love the highly friendly staff, facilities, and community feel of the gym. They also just redid their downstairs weight rooms, expanding the space and adding a lot of new equipment. We absolutely love the makeover and feel reenergized by the changes. I definitely recommend this gym!

Negative experience: Find another gym to go to. The people here are unfriendly and unkind (management included). Also, I would not leave anything unattended in the locker room, as it will get stolen. This is usually never a concern for me at other gyms. I would be wary.

Fantastic experience: RCSC is the best gym I’ve ever experienced. No exaggeration! I’ve been a member for over a year. Hadji is a terrific owner and has fostered such a lovely zero-judgment community. It’s one of my favorite “third places”. I love the classes included with the membership and they have a very extensive array of machines and weights for any experience level. I also highly recommend Vesi if you’re looking for a helpful and friendly trainer. She helped me go from zero lifting experience to being 100% confident navigating the entire gym!

Fantastic experience: Great gym. Strong community, as a 13 year old there are plenty of people helping and looking out for me. Plenty of variety with free weights and machines. Lots of stuff for cardio. Ellipticals, rowers, bikes, and of course treadmills. Trainers are great and everyone is kind. I would absolutely recommend RCSC to anyone in this area who needs a gym. Beginner to advanced.

Fantastic experience: This is one of the best gyms I've ever belonged to. Not too big but they have a good variety of free weights, weight machines, cardio equipment, and classes. I really like the staff and the trainers. Yoga, spinning, pilates mat, dance, and many other classes are all included in membership. There are some bootcamps and special classes you can pay for. Pilates reformer instructors are superb.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been coming to RCSC for a little over a year now and it’s been the best fitness decision I’ve made thus far! From the front desk workers and personal trainers to custodial staff— they are extremely welcoming, professional, and respectful. I am also appreciative to have found a place that actually enforces their sanitizing regulations. Aside from the people, they have a wide variety of equipment to fulfill your fitness goals and is well maintained. *Updated review* Since the beginning of COVID to its most recent Omicron variant, RCSC has done a great job at enforcing rules such as updating their patrons via email with mask mandates and documentation of vaccination cards. They also continue to have disinfectant bottles, wipes, and towels in multiple spots throughout the gym. Last but not least is the real time capacity tracker through their website. For those who live a bit further, have a busy schedule, or simply want to save themselves a trip to the gym before realizing it’s a bit too packed (this has rarely happened to me by the way, but would occur at the commercialized gym I used to go to)… the real time tracker will be your best friend.

Positive experience: I’ve been a member for a few years. They take pride in keeping the facility clean. Throughout the covid-19 crisis the club has clearly communicated the expectation that members maintain a proper face covering at all times, I think the maturity level of the members has aided in this. Powerlifting friendly, with multiple platforms, squat racks, and benches. I have never paid for training services but the entire staff has always been congenial, and helpful.

Fantastic experience: Been going here for years love the people and environment. Not like other gyms where people expect their weights to be picked up by an employee, people respect the gym and clean up after themselves. Staff is very friendly and always happy to give tips here and there. Not to mention has a great community lots of cool and encouraging people who will spot you anytime. Also the equipment is much better than most bigger gyms in the area, they don’t waste money on things that never get used and have cool stuff that a lot of other gyms I’ve seen do not. Would recommend RCSC to any prospective gym goers they’re worth the money and time.

Negative experience: There is not ONE fitness trainer that is practicing what they preach and not only that, they will hate on you if you are doing your thing because it makes them look bad (especially the big stomach blonde haired ‘trainer’) watch out for that dude, he thinks he’s the coolest, will ask you to get off the machine you’re using, do everything except focus on his ab crunching, and is highly unprofessional in his demeanor. This place does not welcome people who ACTUALLY want to come and workout on an advanced level - it’s meant for stuck up people who want everyone to stay below average, so if you mix in well and never train consistently - this is the place for you.

Fantastic experience: Congenial atmosphere, modern equipment, talented fitness instructors, broad range of classes for groups and individual instruction. Exudes a sense of community unlike larger chain fitness centers.

Fantastic experience: I've been a member if this gym for almost a year now and really enjoy it. I mostly use the downstairs weight rooms which can get busy at peak hours, but what gym doesn't? The old school feel of it is really neat. Staff is always friendly and helpful and the place is kept very clean.

Fantastic experience: I love this place! I've been a full member for over 2 years, and did "pay by the day" for a couple years before that. The instructors/trainers are wonderful, knowledgeable, and accommodating. The classes are very diverse and there is something (or many things!) for everyone. The facilities are always clean and neat, and the office staff is very helpful. The patrons span all the age ranges, with even some teen classes. And you can't beat the location!
