Powerhouse Gym in Novi

Negative experience: Go to planet fitness do not go to this gym. They are a bunch of shysters that are gonna con you out of a bunch of money that they don’t deserve. I started a membership. I went three times the third time I tried to bring my 17-year-old son as my guest and they wouldn’t allow it without me paying an extra $40 right then and there I told them I want to end my membership The very rude smart Alec Manager even confirmed that I only went to the gym three times the last time being in November early and have not come back since clearly because I canceled my membership. So tell me why I have a debt collector calling me telling me that I owe $600 to Power House Gym yeah you heard me right $600. I spoke to the manager and she told me oops sorry about your luck. You should’ve answered my email. I’m sorry what does an email have to do with the fact that I went in physically in person to cancel my membership and now she’s trying to tell me there’s nothing she can do and I can try to fight it in court if I want.!!!! I would not recommend this gym to anybody Power House Gym has a name for being rude and extremely shady and scandalous ripping people off out of money that they don’t deserve because they’ve rendered no services To earn The money that they take from you nice little Scam you got going on Power house. Fantastic experience: Our daughter is a college athlete and Powerhouse Novi was very accommodating with her limited time at home and had all the equipment for her to do her daily workouts!

Negative experience: Dirty equipment and sleazy management that charges you for stuff you didn't sign up for. Cancelled and STILL got charged weeks later. Criminal behavior.

Negative experience: Equipment is great, amenities are good. Only complaint is the front desk associates (specially night shift). Always on their phones, never paying attention when you’re at the counter, headphones on etc., almost as if you need to pull teeth to get their attention and when you get the attention, it’s the biggest inconvenience to the associate.

Fantastic experience: I joined for the pool n classes. I also love the jacuzzi n dry sauna. We'll worth the membership cost.

Negative experience: Can’t believe I have had to do this because my experience before today actually has been good with this gym and location. But today, it was not good at all and I will be canceling my membership due to the interaction I had with a worker (named or calls herself/goes by MiMi/MeMe) who was very much so short, rude, and dismissive by talking over me during our initial phone call (not letting me finish my sentences to the point I had to tell her to hold on and let me finish) and rushing me over the phone when calling them about more information on an extra charge I saw on my card that shows it was processed yesterday at 9:05 PM after I made a payment ALONG with the late fee for the month of April yesterday at 5:20 PM. They ended up charging my card once again as a retry payment when I already had made a payment through the app with its late fee since I made a payment a couple days after the payment date due to payment dates changing with my job (April 1st was when it was due, yesterday was when I made it which was April 3rd). Secondly, she was so rushed with trying to hurry up and speak over me without even letting me finish my own sentences that she retorted to saying how I need to try and make a payment a few days before the due date because things like this happen when you don’t make a payment on the due date. I then told her that I didn’t make the payment on the due date because my payment dates with my job position changed and is why I went through the APP to pay the monthly fee along with the late fee with no problem. She then said she was just telling me of why this error supposedly happens. During this call she had put me on hold to see about her manager giving her more information on the extra charge and came back and said that the charge is pending (even on my end it’s not, which I expressed this to her) and it will be refunded and my information will be given to the manager. I asked if I would be contacted once that happens and I asked if I could have the manager’s information and she not only SHUT DOWN/REFUSED to give me the manager’s information, when I asked who I was speaking with she said her title and her name very lightly which I asked her again who she was and she said “MiMi/MeMe” which I highly doubt that was/is her legal full first name. I asked her for her last name along with her first name given this and she quickly retorted to that I don’t need that and she’s not allowed to give out her last name. I then asked how to cancel my membership because at this point I don’t know what kind of location of Powerhouse Gym they are running here at Novi when you’re adamant about not giving me the Manager’s information in ADDITION to not providing me your actual full legal first name at least and last name for the customer’s own security and insurance and to actually KNOW who they are talking to if they have to refer back to you on what was told to them. This is coming from someone who HAS and has HAD the occupation title of “Manager.” Got a second call back from this woman saying that they took a second charge out for the month of May and that her manager isn’t in yet, but they are going to be returning it and it will take a “couple” of days (by that time I already saw that it looked like they took money out for May as well on the app and I said that I saw so on the app to her). I still asked will I still be in contact with a manager about this and she stated (rushing over me verbally) she will and she’s still going to give my information to the manager. Overall this experience has prompted me to not only cancel my membership, but I will never use Powerhouse Gym again.

Negative experience: The person responsible for payments is completely dishonest and untrustworthy. After overcharging me for towel services for a whole year, she promised free towel service from November 2024 to March 2025, but that never happened. Now, she’s started double charging me again—one payment of $10 was taken on March 5, and another is still pending as of March 24. On top of that, she is impossible to reach, never responding to my calls or emails. I would really appreciate a call back from her boss!

Fantastic experience: Love powerhouse Novi!! Been a member since May 2022, and its genuinely the best gym Ive been to! Theyre updating constantly, and they have great perks included in their membership

Positive experience: I’ve been coming here since 2012. The weights and machines are great, but about 30% of the treadmills and bikes are broken. The repairs on equipment take a long time. That said, some improvements are being made at the entrance, which is nice to see. Overall, it’s an okay gym. Novi is showing its age, and I’m not sure I’d recommend it. There are pros and cons, but over time, it’s clear that more attention has been given to the Northville and West Bloomfield locations. Full disclosure: Powerhouse offered free T-shirts this week to encourage members to leave reviews.

Fantastic experience: Amazing gym with a wonderful staff. The new wellness amenities really elevate your experience at this gym. The front desk is so inviting, especially Ninette and Meira. The sales team is always smiling and willing to help with anything you need. Leila signed me up and is such a friendly face to see whenever I come to the gym.
