Our comment from FitFit United States about Equinox Century City:
Equinox Century City in Los Angeles offers a modern and well-maintained gym environment with a variety of amenities and classes. Many users appreciate the cleanliness and design of the facility, highlighting it as one of the best Equinox locations in Southern California. The gym features unlimited classes, accessible amenities, and a pleasant atmosphere that can help members on their fitness journeys.
Positive aspects noted by users include:
- Beautiful and immaculate facilities
- Great instructors and a community feel in classes
- Concierge services and laundry options
- Convenient location near the Century City Mall
However, several reviews express significant concerns regarding customer service and staff attitudes. Users reported rude interactions with staff members, issues with membership freezes and cancellations, and a lack of responsiveness from management. While some staff, like General Manager Gina, are praised for their knowledge and assistance, many users have had conflicting experiences with other staff members.
Overall, while Equinox Century City boasts a wonderful atmosphere and quality amenities, it faces critical feedback regarding customer service that should not be overlooked. Improvements may be needed to enhance member engagement and satisfaction.
Equinox Century City: Opinions
Negative experience: Rude Staff
Negative experience: garbage customer service, unfriendly, obstinate staff, multiple times. Not worth the price - check out icon fit across town.
Negative experience: The receptionist, unless she spoke a foreign language told me she'd appreciate if I were nicer after asking a simple question. WHY ARECTHERE RATINGS DROPPING. She couldn't comprehend and I sighed! Damn these people
Negative experience: I'm very disappointed in the customer service at this specific club. I recently joined it, and I had to freeze my account, which I was told by Daniel that it's okay to freeze up to two months. When I freeze my account, I was charged, and Daniel said that I will be credited for the next month. The next month, when I had to freeze again, I was charged again two months, which is $770. I was very upset, and there was a reason that I no longer was able to come to the Equinox, and I said that I want to cancel my membership. Gina Wong, he connected me with her, and this person was extremely rude, not communicative. Every time when I tried to call her, she would say she would call me back, but never would. Via email, I expressed my feelings, and she said that I cannot freeze my account, I cannot cancel it, and they continue charging me. So it's been three months since I haven't visited the Equinox, and they continue charging me. At this point, I have no choice but to reach out to the CEO of the Equinox, and also, I would never ever advise anyone to join this club, because all they care just about their money. If you ever want to cancel, good luck with that. They care about their money. Gina Wong is just the worst person to deal with it. She would refuse to communicate, she would refuse to call you back, she would refuse to be there for you, especially when you're going through experience with the fires, that I lost part of my business during the fire, and I'm no longer able to pay that Equinox because of the fire, that I was a victim of the fire.
Fantastic experience: Gina, the General Manager, is incredibly knowledgeable and quick to respond. She is truly an asset to the company and goes above and beyond to help. Highly recommend!
Negative experience: I’d give equinox a 2.5 star rating if I could since there’s an equal amount of pros and cons of getting a membership here. Pros: -unlimited classes -unlimited classes -accessible amenities Cons: 1. horrible customer service, rude misinformed staff 2. no appreciation or loyalty to members 1. I have a student membership at the uc Berkeley location and I truly truly loved my first two months as an equinox member. The classes have amazing instructors at the Berkeley location for all of the classes and I believe they do uphold their instructors to be the highest quality. Another plus is how you can take unlimited classes and this is probably the best part. The most frustrating experiences as a member has been the customer service as none of them are truly well informed. I’m not saying berkeleys location as it’s kind of a special location so the customer service with concierge there was usually accurate, with only small things where I was misinformed but no where near as bad as other locations. As I’m originally from the LA area I went to the century city location multiple times and every time there was some bad mistake by the concierge that was helping me. I don’t mind mistakes as it’s only human but my main frustration was there inability to fix their mess ups. And they would be pretty bad mess ups like one time they charged another customer for something I was supposed to be Charged and it resulted in me missing half of the yoga class I was attending bc I had to talk to the concierge person for a while. After that they made me responsible to fixing the mistake with very bad instructions and I ended up giving up because I was upset at how horrible the service was. Another instance was I chatted with concierge on the app to pause my account as there is a policy that for students at the Berkeley location can pause there account for one month, no fee. I was told very confidently that ALL members (including Berkeley) HAD to pay a pausing fee of $50 multiple times but when I called my location and talked to other members they said that is absolutely wrong. Thankfully I called instead of chatting and they told me that yes I could pause my account for free for a month. I nearly paid the $50 pause fee so I was grateful I checked and tried again and was helped by another staff member that was better informed. 2. Another issue I had with equinox is that I’m paying quite a lot so I’d expect that they would honor loyal customers as that’s usually how it works with luxury companies. I recruited four members to the club as I loved and raved about the gym a lot in the beginning. Then when I’d ask for possible deals on more guest passes (as literally every one of my guests ended up signing up) or like possible day passes for when I’d go back home on break at LA locations, they would never ever honor any favors to loyal members. I understand that’s not promised when you bring in new members to sign up for equinox too but you’d think they would treat you with some little favors when politely asked. I also believe bringing in 4 members to join equinox is quite a pretty penny and I just think for the price u pay for this gym, there should be way better service.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful gym, immaculate modern facilities with kind, warm welcoming staff members. This place creates a community of inspiring athleticism. If you want to up your fitness game and become a better version of yourself, this is the place for that transformation. I love the boutique, yummy Earth Bar smoothies and warm towels! Sauna, steam room and on-site spa. Group fitness classes are great both in quality as well also in forming community bonds. Not to mention you have world class shopping right outside the door at the Century City Mall. What’s not to like?
Negative experience: The staff at the front desk exhibit a troubling lack of professionalism and maturity. Their attitude is consistently poor, and they seem ill-equipped to handle client interactions effectively. Considering this is one of the most expensive gyms in Los Angeles, this level of service is both unacceptable and disappointing.

Fantastic experience: Laundry + Valet makes this place top tier.
Negative experience: Convenient location and beautiful gym, but not enough value or respect given to individual members and their needs. Even after being a member for over 7 years and consistently paying for personal training/pilates sessions, the manager doesn’t have the time to help resolve member issues/problems. They fired my Pilates instructor the day they asked me to buy another package of sessions without informing me that my instructor would no longer be returning; and now when I requested a refund for the remaining sessions they tell me they are non refundable. After speaking with the general manager regarding this issue, she reassured me she would come up with a solution by last Saturday… still haven’t heard from her. I have called and left a few messages for her since then.. and keep being told she’s in meetings. Hopefully this review reaches someone who can actually help.
Fantastic experience: Love this location! I started coming to this Equinox in 2018 because it was the closest to my job. Despite a not working nearby anymore I’ve kept my membership just so I can visit this location. Classes: there is more of a community feel with the HIIT and yoga classes than some other locations. Since there are fewer members, people actually talk to each other and you see the same people if you go consistently. Plus they bring in the best instructors from the LA area - have rarely had a bad class. It’s also nice that that the classes are RARELY packed. I’ve done yoga with only 1 other person and HIIT classes with 3 total people. Closest you can get to a personal trainer. Amenities: This location is one of the cleanest Equinoxes I’ve been to. Staff is constantly removing discarded towels, wiping machines, mopping the locker room, and keeping the club looking good. I appreciate the effort and responsiveness to feedback managers have given over the years. Staff: I have no idea what other reviewers are saying about rude staff - instructors, front desk, management, cleaning, and even Earth Bar crew are friendly, nice, helpful and respectful. You get treated with the energy you put out so maybe that’s got something to do with it. Price: yes, it’s more expensive to go to a Destination Equinox than others. That’s because you can also go to any other Equinox in the world with this membership. Despite that I would still pay the extra to come here because it’s less crowded, higher quality and more aesthetically pleasing than most of the other ones I’ve been to. Keep up the great work!
Fantastic experience: Studio is sort-of small, but it's probably my favorite to go to in LA; however, this is mostly for their classes (+) has great outdoor space to read/do work/stretch when it's daytime and sunny. There's a small cabana I like to read at! (+) the most GORGEOUS yoga/pilates studio in all of LA - probably this is the biggest reason I love it so much (+) cycling classes are almost always never packed (+) Juan Hidalgo's strength classes are BOMB; they also seem to have the same frequent attendees, and think instructor does a good job at trying to build comaraderie (+/-) validation gives you 2.25h at Century city- plan accordingly! (+) has steam room/sauna (+) always kept super clean! (+) super convenient to go to the mall before/after if you need! (+) I do think the crowd is on the younger side compared to Sports Club LA, the other destination access Equinox in the area. But older than other clubs West Hollywood/Culver (-) sort of on the smaller side, so weights area seems to get crowded at peak times (-) hard to find parking if you go on weekends, since it's at the mall

Negative experience: Should be more clearly designated as a “destination location” whatever that even means

Negative experience: Both staff interaction I had at this location was horrible. It’s the worst Equinox service I’ve ever experienced, including the manager.

Negative experience: I came for a one-day trial, and I was very excited about it! I really wanted to enroll! When I arrived at the gym and showed the pass they sent me, they asked for my ID. The three people at the door, Ryan, Sophie, and Liz (one brunette, one blonde, and a guy chatting with them over the counter), were extremely rude. I felt profiled and discriminated against because no one had asked me to bring an ID during my previous visit when I provided all my information. This experience made me feel discriminated against, and I want to warn others from different races and the LGBTQ community to avoid this gym, as it does not seem to be a safe or welcoming space for everyone.

Negative experience: Equinox Century City 10250 Santa Monica Blvd Ste 3750, Los Angeles, CA 90067 I visited Equinox Century City today, 16 May 2024, and was alarmed to find that their sauna has no ventilation holes. This oversight raises severe concerns about the safety and well-being of its users. It makes me question: Who built this sauna and issued the license? Look at the risks you expose people to: Oxygen Depletion and Carbon Dioxide Buildup Hypoxia: The lack of fresh air can significantly reduce oxygen levels in the sauna, leading to symptoms like dizziness, shortness of breath, confusion, and fainting. CO2 Accumulation: Without proper ventilation, carbon dioxide can accumulate, causing headaches, dizziness, and, in severe cases, loss of consciousness. Overheating Excessive Heat: The sauna's lack of ventilation can cause it to overheat. This can lead to heat stress or heatstroke, characterized by nausea, headache, dizziness, and severe dehydration. Hot Spots: Inadequate airflow results in uneven heat distribution, increasing the risk of burns and heat-related injuries. Humidity and Moisture Problems Excessive Humidity: High humidity levels without ventilation create an oppressive atmosphere, making breathing difficult. Condensation: Moisture buildup can make surfaces slippery, raising the risk of falls and injuries. Health Risks Respiratory Issues: Poor air quality and high humidity can exacerbate respiratory conditions such as asthma and bronchitis. Mold and Mildew: Persistent moisture fosters the growth of mold and mildew, which can lead to structural damage and pose significant health risks. Proper ventilation ensures a safe, comfortable, and durable sauna environment. For your health reasons, I do not recommend visiting this club.

Negative experience: I pay for full Southern California access and after dragging myself to this location they tell me it’s 45 dollars extra for the day to workout there because it’s a “destination”. Long story short, beware of signing up for equinox. It’s full of random charges on top of your monthly, bad service, mediocre amenities and overcrowded. Do not recommend and will not be renewing my membership.
Negative experience: Definitely NOT worth spending this much money for this gym at all. First of all; they dont have enough equipments. Dont expect variety you gonna be disappointed!! Secondly , I gave feedback to the General manager twice, but she didn’t reply my emails at all. Her name is Leslie Estes . If you want to sign up to this gym, they will call you thousands of times, but whenever you have problems, you can’t find them. Count yourself lucky if you can!! Such a terrible service!! The only reason I gave 2 starts is because I respect the workers who keep the gym clean. Appreciated to them. Good luck!

Negative experience: I am writing this review to express my deep dissatisfaction with the customer service I have experienced at Century City location. I recently reached out to general manager, Leslie Estes to kindly request the cancellation of my membership due to unexpected health issues. Per her request, I provided a doctor’s note to proceed. After several follow up emails and messages that I have left for her, I still have yet to receive a response and confirmation. There has been zero communication from her. Every time I called, I was told by front desk, she is in a “meeting” and will call you back or she is not available. Nothing! This blatant disregard for customer satisfaction and well-being from the management is deeply disheartening. I have emailed their cooperate office hopefully someone from this company responds to emails or I would have to take this matter to BBB resolution center. This is not acceptable.

Negative experience: Very disappointed in the service I received today. The girl at the front @ 4:30 was rude, zero customer service or care. Rather ambivalent about assisting me. Normally I am greeted w/a hello or a smile. This afternoon nothing only attitude. Being a destination member for many years, I am beginning to think of moving my membership to another club that appreciates loyalty and has some form a friendly business acumen.

Negative experience: The worst gym ever. The staff is so rude. I would not spend a penny signing up here.
Positive experience: Great vibe.
Fantastic experience: Favorite gym of all the Equinox in Los Angeles.
Thank you for taking the time to leave us a 5-star review, Elvis!
Negative experience: This place does not care about its members. Without notice, they can close for private events. That's what you're paying for.

Fantastic experience: Probably the best equinox in town. Steam and sauna is a plus!! It’s not ever too crowded because it’s a destination access location but if you have executive you’ll get in. Good equipment. Not too many machines. The people are friendly yaaaaa but I can’t hear anything over Taylor swift blasting in me AirPods xoxox

Fantastic experience: After having just joined Century City and upgraded my membership after 18 years at Equinox Westwood, I can only say that I am sorry I did not do so sooner. This is everything that I was looking for in a club. It is uncrowded, the women's locker room is immaculate, beautifully designed and appointed, and there is the right balance of equipment, so I disagree with some other reviews on that. It also has a zen atmosphere--no blaring music!-- and a full range of classes, especially yoga. Not all classes are Vinyasa and Power, but Yin and Gentle too, which suits me well. Great club! And with this membership you can visit other clubs if more convenient on a given day or if you have been working with a trainer elsewhere.

Negative experience: Despite Equinox having a strong reputation as best-in-class gyms, this location falls very short of this. The gym is clean and organized but my rating reflects the unbalanced distribution and insufficient quantity of equipment. This comes along with Equinox forcing you to enter into their top tier "Destination Access" in order to access, which comes with a hefty price tag. This gym is also very small relative to over locations. While it is well maintained, it is significantly under-equipped for weight training. It's almost hard to stomach the cost for such a small and ill-equipped gym. They gym feels like they only cater towards cardio users, which is ironic given how busy the weight training area compared to the cardio area at peak hours. I seriously hope the management takes this into consideration as it's almost laughable to pay an absurd rate to get access to a tiny, sparsely equipped gym. I really hope they make changes going forward to have more of a balance.

Positive experience: Small, clean and Easy parking!
Hi Joseph, we appreciate the 5 stars!
Negative experience: Title: More Cardio than Muscle at Equinox Century City As a gym that generally has a reputation for providing top-notch facilities, it's disappointing to report that Equinox Century City falls short of the standard. Despite the cleanliness and well-maintained nature of the gym, my 2-star rating reflects the unbalanced distribution and insufficient quantity of equipment. This gym, although compact and tidy, is significantly under-equipped for weight training. The cardio machines are abundant, almost overwhelming the floor space, while the weight-lifting section feels like an afterthought. It's as if the gym has been specifically designed to discourage serious weight training. This puzzling layout choice restricts workout variety and could potentially deter a significant portion of fitness enthusiasts. In line with my experience, I've noticed that this location is one of the lowest-rated gyms in the LA area. For a brand like Equinox, it's quite surprising to see such disregard for a balanced workout environment. I sincerely hope they take note of these issues and take the necessary steps to rectify them.

Fantastic experience: Just what I needed. Balanced acai bowl, well made by happy humans. 2 Lane lap pool. Good culture. Great views. One of my favorite Equinox locations.

Fantastic experience: Elnaz has been an absolute delight to work with!!! She has been extremely professional, courteous and welcoming! I have been to multiple gyms and can conclude Elnaz’s service is second to none!

Positive experience: Great environment to improve your personal health Equinox Century City sets a high standard for excellence offering convenient locations and good value for the amenities. While it does not have the most amenities of all Equinox clubs; I appreciate the Executive plan which includes laundry service for $700 initiation and my grandfathered total monthly rate of $350 per month. Not having to bring in your own gym clothes is a total game changer. Situated in the improved Westfields mall is generally a plus and in some ways compliments the mindfulness aspect. Have yet to try the spa therapy or personal training but I imagine it would be A-tier. My experience with the staff is great and I think they are all polite and professional. Opportunities: Executive membership used to mean they offer complimentary valet service. Some group classes would be nice if they were also offered towards the end of the week Outdoor area is nice but lacks outlets to charge laptop Would be awesome if eqx offered cold plunge and massage chairs

Negative experience: I have a California all access pass and apparently this is one of those elite locations that you have to pay extra for. That’s fine, but I didn’t know that and recently moved and was considering upgrading my membership to use this one. They wouldn’t give me a free one day pass to try it out. And honestly, doesn’t look that different or better than the regular clubs. Horrible customer service.
We appreciate you providing this feedback and giving us an opportunity to improve. We would love to get additional feedback. Please connect with us at [email protected], mentioning your review, so we can address quickly.
Positive experience: The staff are fantastic, the facility is good and equipment is nice, but the hours, in particular on weekends are a joke! 6pm regularly with reductions to 4pm on holiday weekends. 3 stars for the terrible hours alone unfortunately. I do want to call out exceptionally good positive service from Brian Holtby. He has consistently gone out of his way to help with any questions I have and to help with the membership any way he can. Five stars for Brian!
Fantastic experience: This is the gym you promised yourself you would join when you made it life. It’s all about the amenities, the details and the community.
Fantastic experience: This is the gym you promised yourself you would join when you made it life. It’s all about the amenities, the details and the community.
Thanks for the 5 stars Andre!
Fantastic experience: Brian Holtby is amazing. Whatever you do, sign up with him. He’s very welcoming and really takes care of you throughout your time as a member, not just at the beginning. Great club, clean, and never too crowded.
Thanks for the 5 stars, Brian!
Negative experience: My mother and I have been loyal Equinox members for the past 3 years, prior to the pandemic and initiated our membership at Century City. Today we brought my younger sister, who is already an Equinox member with access to all locations besides Century City. We came because we were told by another club that because she is already an Equinox member, she could try this club to see if she would like to upgrade her membership. We told the front desk that she would upgrade, but she would like to try a class before to make sure it was fitting to her needs. However, the treatment we received from the front desk attendant, Sophie, followed by the membership advisor Brian Holtby was absolutely unacceptable and appalling. Sophie was extremely juvenile and sarcastic like a “mean girl.” Which is not the attitude she should have as a front desk attendant. She treated us as if we were not members and we’re trying to get in without paying. We pay a total of $1000+ for our memberships and no one paying this much should be met with atrocious behavior such as Sophie’s. After coming to no solution, she called Brian. When calling him, she started off by saying “sorry to bother you” as if we were a burden. Brian’s behavior was awful as well. When my sister asked about upgrading her membership, he abruptly cut her off and quickly said the price as if he wanted to make sure she could afford it. Completely unacceptable, and she is already a member. As we were walking away, Sophie quickly joined Brian to go behind the scenes and gossip. When we decided to not workout because we were upset, he confirmed that she went back to talk to him to see if she did anything wrong. Brian offered no apology for his behavior and even endorsed Sophie’s behavior. Completely unacceptable. To make matter worse, as we were leaving, Sophie sarcastically shouted “Have a Nice Day!” We then spoke to Leslie, the general manager, and she just heard us and didn’t offer any remedy or solution to providing better service to Equinox guests. Instead, she just said that she “would talk to them.” Which does not ensure any change, and guests will most likely continue to experience this horrible behavior from the Equinox employees. We also asked Leslie for the District Managers contact and she said that the issue would likely “come back to her,” meaning that her intentions were not genuine and she would do nothing.

Negative experience: This location customer service is the WORST!!!! Especially personal training manager - Alberto. First of all for people looking for personal training please DONNOT use this location, because they have ONLY ONE TIER X trainer, and you will never be able to schedule with him. Second of all, Alberto tried to sell me 24 class session - $3000, and I was told I can use Tier X trainer which is a totally LIE. When I tried to schedule the appointment multiple times he always make excuses or never pick up the phone. Because he is always “BUSY”. So I end up training with no one. Or stay with tier 3 trainer. As client, I have no freedom to choose who I like to train with, so what’s the point I spend money??? This was very unpleasant experience. I hope the manager of the equinox should notice this. They just lost a client who is willing to pay for 24 sessions package because of the service.
Hi Louisiana, we're very sorry to hear this feedback. Please connect with us at [email protected]. We would love to get additional details that led to this review so we can investigate closely and identify opportunities for improvement in our services. Please be sure to mention your review so we can address quickly.
Negative experience: The hours at this location is a joke, pay the most and closes the earliest. It's shameful, bring back the old hours back. Stop trying to maximize your profits!
Hi, we understand how frustrating this must be. This is a temporary change due to the recent pandemic breakout we are experiencing nationwide. We plan to return to previous operating hours as soon as possible.
Negative experience: Kyle Cook is one of the most unsanitary human beings I have met in my life. For a manager to not practice what he preaches in the middle of a pandemic is absurd. The fact that he is still working there is shocking. A gym is supposed to be clean especially when your paying $325/month. I am sad to see Equinox go this low. Avoid this location at all cost. West Hollywood is where I will stay.
We are sorry to hear about your experience at our Century City club. Would you please send us a message with details on your encounter with the management team at the club? We want to look into this further and help improve your experience if possible.
Fantastic experience: The hours are to short. We need the old hours back.
Hi Jack, we understand how frustrating this must be. This is a temporary change due to the surge of the new Omicron variant we are experiencing nationwide. We plan to return to previous operating hours as soon as possible.
Fantastic experience: They really do everything they can to stay open and to keep us safe. And they are super helpful. You can reach the management people directly. Very easy. Or you can chat online. Equinox is the best gym out there.
Hi Irina, we're working hard to keep members and employees safe and we're glad you see that. Thank you for the 5 stars!
Fantastic experience: Positive: Quality
Fantastic experience: Love going here. Clean and well maintained.
Hi Ken, we are working hard to keep all members and staff safe. We're glad you noticed! Thank you for the 5 stars.
Fantastic experience: A tiny + smiling environment health club with complete as well as clean amenities and equipment—efficient!
Thank you for taking the time to review, M!
Negative experience: Let me make it clear: I am not your friend... I am your client, I advise the manager of this location to bring her voice down when she speaks to clients of Equinox and just try to do her job better... Thanks
Negative experience: Unprofessional management very bad experience. Equinox please make sure who you are working with.
Hi Atash, this is not what we like to hear at all. We would love to get additional feedback and details that led to this review so we can investigate further. Please connect with us at [email protected]. Be sure to mention this review so we can address quickly.
Fantastic experience: Positive: Quality Love the Equinox brand and especially this location! The best location in Southern California!
Positive experience: There is not nearly enough room dedicated for squat racks and barbells. There's always someone is somebody's way. The only way to use the battle rope is to block an entire walkway. The only escape I can get is if I go into the trx/prviate training studio which is well equipped with kettelbells, dumbbells, and viprs. they could use some heavier KBs though ( heaviest is 40lb).
Fantastic experience: I feel very fortunate to have been welcome into this club and I do not foresee myself ever wanting to leave.
Negative experience: This is honestly the worst EQX. Referring to “in the wild” setup. Half the rooftop is wide open and unused, no attempt to fill it with equipment, constantly overbooked, they dont ask you to schedule a cardio vs lifting time slot so you end up with 40 people fighting over 30 machines/benches/cables to lift and 5 people using the 20 cardio machines. Total mismanagement of the volume and placement of equipment. They are using a quarter of the space out here for the 5 classes a day they offer. I’m no rocket scientist, but how about you nail down how to be an effective gym space before offering classes? Get the basics right. Insult to injury is the useless lounge area at the front as if people want to chill on couches in the sun. Seriously, put equipment anywhere you can fit it and call it a day. smdh
Fantastic experience: Love the Equinox brand and especially this location! The best location in Southern California!
Fantastic experience: Moved here recently from NY, going through gyms trying to find one that’s worth joining. The upper crest of fitness centers is always pricey so their rates were not a shock. I had a lot of questions and Brittany answered every one! To be honest she was also really good looking and pleasant, won’t mind seeing her before my workouts!! Check out Equinox (century city) great staff and environment.
Fantastic experience: I am so excited that I got a Equinox membership. Equinox’s gym is the most luxury gym I have ever been to. They have great hospitality they have a lot of different classes to choose from. I got the sport membership so I can go to every single equinox locations. The gym was super clean Great showers great work out equipment everything about this gym is excellent. five-star service and gym. i’m super excited to be working out now because my atmosphere is amazing. #Peopledontknowaboutthis
Thank you for the feedback!
Fantastic experience: Best gym! So clean and no drama like at the sunset location. It’s just a good space to work out in peace without too many show off types. The classes are all included in your membership (except the Pilates and personal training, which is on the $$$$ side so it’s hard to want to pay those prices) but it’s state of the art equipment and very spa like in the bathroom/locker area. Also much less crowded!
Thank you for your feedback, Shalom!
Positive experience: This club is beautiful. Staff were helpful. This club DOES NOT HAVE A POOL OR JACUZZI as the photos indicate. They have no way of removing pictures posted by members of the previous Century City gym. This is a huge sticking point for me, as I'm a triathlete looking for some water. Was not worth my time sticking around to see what the rest of the club had to offer. Gorgeous facility, though.
Fantastic experience: The only reason I joined this club was to stay away from the negative Nancy’s who write negative reviews about this “exclusive club.” Yes, it costs more because it’s exclusive.
Negative experience: I am a current member of Equinox in Miracle Mile and I want to try this coz it's close to work. I am a little disappointed that you have to pay $35 to try the club for a day. After reading all the negative comments I already know I won't like this gym. :(
Negative experience: Continue to deduct monthly fee from my credit card after I canceled membership
Negative experience: I am an Equinox member for the past 12 years. Recently I went to this location and asked the front desk person if I would be able to try the facility before upgrading my membership. The lady laughed at me and told me i can try it after I upgraded my membership. She also laughed when I asked her to validate my parking ticket and told me for members only. If any of my employee’s treat my customers with that kind of attitude I fire them on the spot.
Hi there - this is not what we like to hear - we're sorry about your experience. We are passing this along to the club team to address this.
Fantastic experience: What an amazing human being Audrey is, so kind and was very informal on why my guest should join the gym. I really needed my guest to join this gym for business purposes and she got it done I’m so happy. What an awesome sales professional she is at century city equinox!!
Negative experience: I am a regular member. Paid $35 extra to get into this facility. Steam rooms & showers close 30 minutes before gym “closes” as well as the juice store at the entrance. The NYC flatiron is great but this is an absolute joke!!
Negative experience: Not worth the expensive cost compared to other Equinox gyms that are less expensive and offer same amenities ( and in certain cases other locations have more)
Fantastic experience: Love Love Love Equinox, Been a member of the Sports Club Location and my experience at the New Century Location is great. Nice Customer Service and staff. Love the fire pitt outside after my evening workout to relax. Yes its Pricey, but worth it.
Negative experience: I waited patiently for this place to open after being a member of the old CC Equinox for a few years. What a massive let-down! I'm finally canceling my membership after a couple of awful experiences. Bafflingly, the new floorplan for the main gym is less spacious than the old one (ceiling height doesn't count, guys)..? The air conditioning was broken during three of my workouts in one month (IN SUMMER!). The "system" frequently "crashes" and causes waits at the front desk. Many pieces of equipment have been poorly assembled or are otherwise non-functional: most pull-up handles spin (the cushions aren't attached right), the platform for olympic lifts is a slippery mess, the layout is nonsensical, they're missing basic equipment like a single proper pull-up belt... To add insult on top of injury, now they can't locate my laundry number or my bag of clothes that I left there last time - apparently the number disappeared when they canceled my account. Like... Nobody wrote it down first..? Great. Cool. Remind me: what the hell about this place is worth $250+/month?
Hi, Cody. We're so sorry that your experience has been compromised, and we thank you for reaching out to let us know. We have passed your message along to management so that they can take your feedback into account. If we can be of further assistance, please don't hesitate to reach out to Member Services at [email protected].
Negative experience: Its almost insulting how a facility that largely resembles any 24 hour fitness/LA Fitness costs over $300/month. Very unimpressive facility having spent some time there. The cardio machines are crammed into a limited space, equipment space is limited, and bathrooms like like any 'decent/good' gym. I understand the rationale that avg. income/property prices in century city are higher than average and that's what Equinox is banking on - but at least have something real to offer. There are a million options in LA, so why don't you really try to stand out if you're going after the "executive" market? Half-baked effort.
Negative experience: Very small gym with a very poor equipment choices, I did not find a lot of machines that I usually use. Front desk staff was too lazy to go show me womens locker room giving me his loud sigh, lol. Nobody says hi, all trainers are mostly from Sports Club West LA. I only liked it for fresh clean new facility. Will be coming back sometimes just to mix it up, but definitely would not recommend this gym to be your primary one.
Negative experience: Very rude employees. Lazy morose front desk. Nothing special. Avoid this club it ain't worth it even if it was free
Julien, what happened? Please let us know at [email protected].
Negative experience: This is a foo foo gym where people don't actually work out, pretty much just wanna be seen and socialize. I could name about 50 things that are better you can spend $250-300 per month on and this gym isn't even worth $100 per month. I guess you could do arm curls here while wearing cucumbers over the eyes and getting a facial if that's your thing. In all honesty though, it's overrated for what it is and it's at a fuc-ing mall which is sleezy in itself.
Negative experience: They don't let other equinox members have that free pass to see the gym and you can't park your car by yourself you have to pay 35$ for one day pass plus that vale date fee
Negative experience: Equinox is the worst! Don't ever buy a gift card there; they won't let you use it. I've tried at five different locations in California and New York, and they've all given me the runaround, telling me various reasons why I can't use it. A total ripoff!
