Positive experience: "Great Gym, But Disappointing Lack of Effort to Fix Key Issue" I’ve been a member of Best Fitness Danvers for almost a year and initially chose this gym because I was told that spin bikes were available for use outside of scheduled classes. With only one or two spin classes per day, having access to the bikes on my own time was a key factor in my decision to join. However, I recently learned that this is no longer allowed. While I understand that policies can change, it’s frustrating that there was no effort to find a solution—especially since multiple members were given the same misinformation. When I asked about alternatives, such as placing a spin bike on the main gym floor or implementing a sign-up system, I was told no changes would be made, without any real explanation as to why. On top of that, I was also misled about other things when I joined. I was told my personal training sessions would never expire, that I could use other Best Fitness locations free of charge, and that an expansion was happening—none of which turned out to be true. I truly love this gym—the staff is great, the facility is well-maintained. But it’s disappointing when the owner refuses to address reasonable concerns, especially when so many members were given the wrong information. A little effort to improve the experience would go a long way.

Negative experience: I have never stepped foot in this gym, yet they have been calling me and emailing me for years, claiming that I owe them money for a membership. I've explained to them a million times that I have never stepped foot in their gym, so that would be impossible, and at first they wanted me to come in to "cancel" my membership. I told them since I didn't have to be there to "join" apparently, that I didn't feel that I should be inconvenienced by having to go in, to "cancel" anything. I was assured that it would be taken care of. Fast forward at least a year after my last conversation with them, I just received another email asking me to "settle" my account. I would say stay far away from this place, but apparently you don't even have to go near them for them to try and screw you!!

Fantastic experience: Really nice equipment, very friendly staff (Joey is the goat). Lots of space in the power racks so you can string exercises together, which is great if you are an athlete. Rarely a long wait for benches or other equipment in the free weight area.

Positive experience: Good deal steam room sauna full gym equipment $35 a month but you are not able to bring a guest which is a big bummer. This place would draw in so much more clientele if it just allowed it's members to bring guests. As much as I dislike places like planet fitness you get all the same equipment and you can bring a guest at a variety of locations for $10 less a month. I am not a member here but overall fairly solid

Clean, great music, not too crowded, and lots of options for however you like to get your pump. Customer service was top notch, Ryan helped us with anything needed. Fantastic experience: I was visiting family in Beverly, MA, and decided to check out Best Fitness in Danvers. I loved my experience here! The equipment was super clean, and there were plenty of free weights, which was great for my workout routine. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, making sure everything was in top shape and that members felt comfortable. You can tell they really care about providing a great environment for everyone. I’ll definitely be back whenever I’m visiting from Brooklyn!

Fantastic experience: The management at this location is top tier. I use to be a long term member and then moved out of state and whenever I come home I workout here and the Manager Delight always takes care of me! Also one of the cleanest gyms I’ve ever been to

Fantastic experience: Best gym around! I’ve been a member here since the gym opened and absolutely love it. It’s by far the cleanest gym I’ve been to and the staff are all really nice and friendly. The classes are amazing. All the instructors are really helpful and knowledgeable, if you have questions or need modifications. Fantastic experience: I have been searching for a gym that offers a variety of group fitness classes at a time that works with my work schedule. Best Fitness does that. The staff was very welcoming from the very beginning. I was nervous being an older woman and not in great shape that the classes would be too difficult and not welcoming. I couldn’t be more wrong. Every instructor is encouraging, enthusiastic, asking about injuries, and offering modifications if needed. I have made going to the gym part of my day for the past 6 weeks and I couldn’t be happier! Fantastic experience: The rest have closed, only the BEST remains.... Best Fitness! This is seriously the cleanest gym around. The equipment, restrooms, and group workout rooms are always being cleaned. There are plenty of paper towels, disinfectant spray and hand sanitizer throughout the gym to allow members to clean equipment before and after a workout. Group classes have been set up to allow for the 6 foot distance and still offer a great workout. Best Fitness in Danvers is following all the COVID guidelines to make it safe to have some kind of normal routine during this not so normal time. Thank you Best Fitness for giving your members a safe place to go to work off some of the stress 2020 has brought us!

Fantastic experience: I have been going to this gym for 2mos and seeing a trainer once a week. When I first went in to buy a membership, a staff member sat down with me and discussed the pricing, laid out a summary of how much it would cost in the long run, and was very upfront and honest with any questions I had. The gym itself is immaculately clean and staff are regularly cleaning during the day. There’s lots of different equipment and I’m hardly ever waiting for machines or weights. My experience working with a trainer has been awesome - I never feel uncomfortable and the exercises we do are at my level and push me to be better. 10/10 would recommend.

Fantastic experience: Honestly my favorite gym I've ever had a membership with. I've been with best fitness for over 3 years now and have throughly enjoyed the wide range of equipment, nice employees and great customer service. There's always fun events going on pertaining to the holidays, taste testing for supplements or new protein snacks and even one time after I lifted I was able to meet some kittens that had been brought in for an adoption event. Overall a great community and a great place to get your workouts in

Negative experience: Had a bad experience with this place. I had checked out the gym in November wanted ro see if it was fit for me after ACL surgery but couldn't work out due to injurey so they activated a weekly pass for me anyways. I talked on the phone with Owen and asked if i could get the 30 days free pass and explained the situation and he said yea no problem we can do that when i went today and spoke with Joshua they said sorry we can't do it because i allready cheked out the gym in November. They basically wasted my time and lied to me just to get me in.

Fantastic experience: I cannot recommend Best Fitness enough!! I had never joined a formal gym before and was super nervous but upon meeting the staff and getting a tour I didn’t have anything to worry about! The gym and locker rooms are kept exceptionally clean, the staff/trainers are so friendly and make an effort to connect with everyone, even if not their direct client. The classes are varied with experienced instructors who do a wonderful job of keeping the energy up while also assisting anyone who may need it. It’s very obvious they care about your fitness journey too!

Positive experience: Honestly great classes staff and equipment. Top notch gym for a decent price. Anyone who is joining for a short period or planning on cancelling at some point be warned it's really difficult to cancel your membership. I joined for a short period while I lived nearby knowing I had to move. They say you can't cancel unless you move 25 miles away from the club (I moved 23.3 miles away and an hour+ drive each way) doesn't matter. You get nailed with a $100 buy-out fee if you don't wanna be stuck paying for the rest of your life. Not to mention several months of club fees even when you aren't using the gym. Again, great gym just be warned. God forbid you move. @Management why are you locking people into 2 year contracts??? I've never had a gym membership that was this hard to cancel. Would love my $100 back ://

Negative experience: I had a frustrating experience with this gym. Despite multiple attempts, they wouldn't cancel my membership as requested. For one, They sign you on a 2-yr agreement without your knowledge. The membership was stated for a month to month basis. For two, I’m informing them that I’ve experienced a medical issue and they’re not willing to work me. The lack of responsiveness and cooperation was disappointing. Customer service needs improvement.

Negative experience: Absolutely nothing special about this gym and they Rip off loyal customers and no accountability or apology for their actions. After bringing in multiple people to join and 2 personal training sessions I quit. Sooo many better places to join who actually care about your fitness and value your business. Also always hated- no paper towels or towels in locker room…

Negative experience: Loved the gym when I was there. Staff in the building were friendly and everything was clean. But if you need to cancel for any reason, for me it was a move- it is the most exhausting and invasive experience you’ll ever have. They gave me the option to “buy out” of my membership which was quoted at $100!! If I didn’t wanna go that route, I could provide a proof of moving & a statement as to why I wanted to cancel. Once I provided that.. because it fell within 30 days of my upcoming billing cycle (meaning I didn’t make the decision on the day of my last billing cycle) not only was I forced to pay the next one but nobody I had spoken to that represented abcfitness (the customer service for best fitness) seemed to care. I told them they were stealing from me at this point as I already made my statement & I had moved months ago. I asked for them to look up the amount of times I’ve actually been able to reach the Danvers location since July when I moved, I had believed it was only once. I asked to make an exception as I wouldn’t be able to make it for their services for the next month so why was it an obligation to pay! The representative told me they couldn’t look they didn’t have access.. how convenient! And probably a lie. Again, nobody cared about my situation as a whole, nobody was personable and seemed to have any empathy or understanding nor tried to help me in anyway. TO CANCEL MY MEMBERSHIP I HAD TO PAY THEM ANYWAYS!! They forced my money for services I will not be able to get to and it took me over a month to cancel. It’s a gym membership, it should never be that serious. Although the staff is nice in this building, the company as a whole is clearly money hungry and doesn’t care about the guest experience.

Negative experience: Went to best fitness for a while while I was living in Danvers and it was great, but I eventually moved to Quincy. I tried to call to cancel my membership and they told me I had to be there in person. Considering how far of a drive it was I explained my situation and they said the only way they would let me cancel was if I sent my lease for my new apartment to them. Ridiculous. I've given less information to cancel a bank account than I had to give here. Regardless I sent the lease and, now being over a month into me trying to cancel this account, they tell me I need a 30 day notice of leaving like me trying this whole time wasn't enough. I'm sorry but is this place that short on money where they need my 36 dollars to cancel. I would recommend finding somewhere where they care a little more about their customers.

Fantastic experience: While visiting for the weekend from out of town, I called a few gyms, including Best Fitness/Danvers, and stopped into BF to see the facility and equipment. Nate greeted me with friendliness; the locker room, bathrooms and showers, exercise areas and equipment were clean like new. The times of access and the price for the weekend met my need and expectations. I was in the gym three times that weekend, enabling me to stay fresh, invigorated throughout my stay. I would use this gym again!

Fantastic experience: The name says it all! I’ve gone daily for a year and a half now and it is hands down the best gym on the north shore. It’s always immaculate and all of the staff are super knowledgeable and friendly. There are plenty of weights and machines too, I hardly ever have to wait. Not to mention they have a very wide variety of group classes for all skill levels. The kid’s club is a great bonus- the same girls are always there taking care of the kids and they are phenomenal with them, I never have to worry. Look no further, this gym seriously has everything you need!

Fantastic experience: Too good to be true. I’m from New Jersey and I am now embarrassed by my gym. To compare my gym to Best Fitness: My gym supposedly prides itself on cleanliness, but BF is noticeably cleaner. BF has considerably more space and equipment, with better and more class choices. In other words, it’s hands-down far superior. I therefore expected it to cost a bit more than the $110/ month I pay in New Jersey. I nearly fell out of the chair when I found out BF is 1/3 the cost of my gym. Best Fitness has plentiful, up-to-date equipment, is very clean and very reasonably priced. I don’t know what else one could ask for.

Fantastic experience: I've been a member of Best Fitness Danvers for 4 1/2 years. I joined based on the amount and type of classes they offered for the monthly price. BFIT60 Strength, BFIT60 Burn, Barre, BodyTone, Cycle Fusion, Studio Cycle, Forever Fit, Yoga (offered in basic, 90 & 100) and Zumba gives me a large range to choose from depending on how I feel or what my body can handle. Instructors are very good at helping with proper movement and giving levels of challenge. There is options for personal trainers if you choose and huge area for your choice of workout. Plenty of treadmills and various other equipment/weights and I always notice them being cleaned or checked regularly. Locker room is clean and sauna is great when you need some heat! My only complaint is trying to decide which class to take! ;)

Fantastic experience: From out of state and came to visit a friend who lives in the area. One if not the best gym I’ve been to in a while. Lots of machines to target different muscle groups and loved the ability and range of the free weight sections. Bathrooms were super clean compared to other gyms I’ve been to and I even had a pb protein shake from the front that was super good. 10/10 would recommend in the area! Over great atmosphere and friendly staff!

Negative experience: In my opinion, this company does not respect the privacy of their customers. Just went on the website to check the membership prices. You have to put in your email and phone number to even access the prices. When you do that, there are no terms and conditions listed on that first page, you need to agree to receiving TEXT messages via your phone number. I went in, saw the membership prices, and decided to think on it and weigh my options with other gyms. Tell me why I received a CALL not even five minutes later from the facility where they stated my name. In my opinion, this seems like a company that does not have proper privacy and security policies, especially since I was not provided with a link to these policies when I first put in my number. That is personally an immediate turn off for any facility.

Negative experience: I honestly wanted to join this gym. It was decently clean, pretty small but at least a lot of squat racks. The sauna doesn’t get too hot but it still is nice. I honestly was going to sign up if the sales people weren’t so unprofessional here. I was on there 30 day free trial, 4 days in, the gym is closing, I’m getting ready to leave in the locker room. The same sales guy that did my orientation 4 days before points at me with the locker room filled with people. “ Hey man, your trials up, you gotta sign up, I’ll let it slide today but next time your in, you gotta sign up.” I believe his name was Sam, tall skinny black haired fella. I hope he stopped working there. They operate on Sleazy malicious selling tactics. Don’t sign up here. I left that day, signed up for another gym the same day and never regretted it.There is a new Crunch gym opening for cheaper membership down the street. I’ve met crunch workers, they’re usually chill. Also LA fitness is a little less squat racks, but way more equipment, better hours and an actually reasonable staff.

Fantastic experience: Been a member since the gym opened! Always think it is very clean and the staff is great! The kids club is such a huge bonus my family and I use it almost everyday! The staff is always so welcoming and my kids love going in. The classes are great as is the equipment on the floor! I love that my family and I can all go together.

Fantastic experience: I LOVE Best Fitness in Danvers. Couldn’t say enough good things about this gym. Been a member for a little over two years and it was the best decision ever. The staff and classes have been a huge motivation. I always struggled to stick to a workout routine in the past but having a class to go to w/ great instructors that look forward to seeing you, makes it easy. Never thought that my favorite parts of the week would be a Body Tone class on Monday night and Saturday morning Spin! If you reach out to them ask to speak with Delight - she’s the best!

The instructors are friendly, offer expert advice and, most importantly, correct form when necessary. I love going to Best Fitness, its the best part of my day.

Fantastic experience: Joining Best Fitness in Danvers has been an incredible experience for me. It is one of the best decisions I’ve made in my life. It has an awesome atmosphere including all the best equipment you need to get healthy and in shape. The staff there has been extremely great to me. In particular, Doug Sorabella, who is the fitness director, has helped me out tremendously. He has not only given me great advice for working out but he has become a good friend as well. Doug is very passionate at what he does and is really good at it also. He is focused, motivated, and knowledgeable. He always has the time to stop and listen and give his best advice. I am very grateful for his time and effort with me. I recommend to anyone who joins Best Fitness in Danvers to schedule an appointment with Doug and talk with him. He also hooked me up with one of his finest trainers named Jamie Coates. Jamie is a very knowledgeable trainer and excellent at his job. He has become another positive impact in my life. He has seen potential in me that I never knew I had. He prevents me from giving up on myself and motivates me to keep pushing forward. I recommend to anyone who is serious about getting in shape to sign up with Jamie. You will not regret it. Two other staff members you must meet are Nate Sanfilippo and Dean Hurlburt. Both are very knowledgeable and motivating individuals. They are always available to share their best advice on how to reach your physical goals. I always leave Best Fitness feeling positive and good about myself. If you want that feeling as well you should join. Best Fitness in Danvers is the best !! Bryan McCrea

Fantastic experience: I have been a member at Best Fitness for some time now, and can easily say it is the all-around BEST gym on the North Shore. No matter what your goals are, Trainers and Staff are delightful and motivated to see you hit them! Also, it is nice to see how the team is constantly keeping the place spotless; cleaning machines, weights, floors, locker rooms, etc. Awesome community and trustworthy members and staff!!!

Fantastic experience: I am a transplant from another BF location after moving to the North Shore area. This gym is the perfect size- they put the right amount of cardio equipment to house the busy times which leaves room for adequate space for free weights section, racks, and machines. I checked out a bigger gym nearby (at a much heavier price point) and was not impressed with their free weights section as to when I toured this BF. Enough benches and racks to suit the needs of the amount of members. Last point, and for me personally important, this gym is kept super SUPER clean. Not a day goes by where I don’t see them cleaning the gym floor or equipment. The locker rooms are always immaculate as well. Staff friendly and approachable. It’s a win/win especially for the reasonable price point.

Fantastic experience: I have been at best fitness now for a few years and VERY happy! And the options for classes are amazing. Where else for one monthly fee could you take Pilates, yoga, spin, barre, and befit classes? The trainers are very supportive of goals and truly make every class fun and rewarding. I love a gym that provides me a lot of motivation, and I have certainly found it here!

Fantastic experience: I’ve been a member at Best Fitness since July 2022. Best fitness has a positive and welcoming environment that makes me feel comfortable working out and wanting to go back. It’s clean and and the machines are well maintained. I don't have little kids anymore but the child care looks like a fun and safe place for members to leave their children while they get a work out in and have peace of mind. So far I have done classes with Delight and Robin. Great instructors and never made me feel intimidated. So many gyms out there to choose. With a Great price, environment and what it has to offer I am happy that I made the decision in becoming a member here.
