Fantastic experience: I’ve been to every gym in town, planet fitness, snap, ect. I’ve been going to Xcel for a year and a half. Overall the best bang for your buck gym in bend for sure. The staff are the some the friendliest people you’ll ever meet. The environment Xcel has created makes this gym a very welcoming environment making working out much less of a chore and more of an outlet! I love this place!

Fantastic experience: When I joined several years ago, the gym was in rough shape. However, it's the largest gym in town and has the most equipment. This August, they updated a lot, and it looks great. There is enough equipment so that as long as you are not going at peak times, you can make your way through your workout without waiting or modifying your sets. The staff are also fantastic! Since I see them more than I see my colleagues, that really matters. The locker rooms could use some renovation, but I am sure it will be part of one of their annual updates in the future. Very happy to be a member.

Fantastic experience: I recently joined and can't say enough good things about Xcel Fitness! First off, Jen is a gem — my 3-year-old LOVES going to "Club X," and I’m pretty sure she thinks Jen's the coolest person on the planet. My kid gets to go to the kids zone and do crafts, have fun, and I get a full 90 minutes to myself for only $6. Best deal in town for child care, hands down! Not only that, but the staff already knows my name — I feel like I'm walking into a place where everyone genuinely cares. The sauna is the perfect post-workout relaxation, and did I mention they have a farm store with local meats? Because, yes, you can work out and then grab fresh, locally sourced meat to cook up for dinner. A win-win! Xcel Fitness has a little something for everyone: it's not too fancy or yuppity, just a great, welcoming space where you can get fit, have fun, and support local. And the best part? Affordable prices that don’t break the bank. Couldn’t ask for a better place to get back in shape and let my little one have fun at the same time!

Fantastic experience: Been going here a while and this gym has the best crew I’ve seen in a long time. I noticed results were coming through when I went to get my license renewed and they told me they could see the weight loss in my face. Love coming here. Love the people working here.

Fantastic experience: This is a great gym for those who want a workout space without the frills or fluff. Everything you need is here. The gym is clean, well maintained, open 24 hr, has trainers and on-site massage. Staff is long term, Tanner and Owen especially, are great and fee is very reasonable. I've been a member for many years.

Positive experience: 24 hours, 360 days a year (wish it was open everyday) but still a solid gym. I wish there was platforms, more box jumps, and the one month membership was less than $65.

Fantastic experience: Xcel Fitness has been a fantastic place for my fitness journey. After the renovations the facility looks extremely clean, spacious, and equipped with everything you need, from free weights to cardio machines. The staff are always friendly, approachable, and willing to help if you need any guidance. They keep the environment motivating and positive, which makes working out so much more enjoyable. If you’re looking for a well-rounded gym with great equipment and a welcoming atmosphere, Xcel Fitness is definitely the place to go!

Negative experience: They do not have any way to digitally pay your membership. They have you write your full card details on paper and give it to them. This is incredibly insecure, ridiculous, and unacceptable practices for managing peoples information.

Fantastic experience: I have been a member at Xcel for nearly 20 years. I've visited other gyms around town throughout the years, but Xcel has always been my favorite. The gym is large, lots of equipment and tons is free weights. The staff and trainers are always friendly. Every year they shut down at the end of August for a few days to do maintenance. This year I was expecting the same thing. Instead I walked back in to a brand new looking gym. New floors, new paint, some new machines. A fresh new look all the way around. I can't imagine the hours they all put in to make this happen in such a short down time. Great job guys, the gym is awesome!

Negative experience: Yo, we used to love this gym, but things have seriously gone downhill. The carpets are messed up with huge holes, and the equipment screws are all loose—my girl’s worried it might break on us. Also, the scales in the locker rooms are totally busted. I usually don’t sweat the small stuff, but she’s not having it, and now I see why. She’s thinking of switching gyms, and if she goes, I’m tagging along. Fix up the place, man—it’s starting to look pretty rough. Later,

Fantastic experience: This is a true gym! People go there to actually workout! No loud head-banging music, not folks sitting on machines texting. Good cross-section of members from all walks of life. Great equipment, clean w/o areas and dressing room, and very polite personnel. What more can you ask for?!

Fantastic experience: Great place to train, in regard to what specific area of wellness you wish to improve (resistance training, cardiovascular endurance, CrossFit). Aside from all the options here, the staff are incredible. You are treated with respect, you're not just a number. Highly recommend.

Negative experience: Spend your money somewhere else. Place is always filthy; dusty equipment, dirty bathrooms/toilets, funky smell in the sauna, etc.

Fantastic experience: Best gym in Bend by far. I look forward to visiting every time I’m in town. Tons of great old school bodybuilding equipment, great staff, well maintained. They still offer towels which many gyms have abandoned/given up on. Highly recommended.

Fantastic experience: Five stars isn’t enough for this place. Easily the best gym I’ve found in Oregon. Loads of free weights, dumbbells that go up in 2.5 lb increments, and a great selection of plate-loaded and pinstack equipment. Very reasonable day pass rates and I come here every time I’m in Bend. Just wish we had this gym in Eugene.

Fantastic experience: Been coming here since 2021, and I love this gym. It’s well stocked with all the equipment one could ever want. The vibe reminds me of a golds gym with lots of support from staff like Tanner and Owen. Wouldn’t dream of going elsewhere.

Positive experience: This is the towel situation for the last week at Xcel. Along with the dusty floors, holes in the carpet, filthy toilets most the time, and over all nappy locker rooms. You get a 2 star and that’s being graced. Do better you guys. Edit update- Next day pics added below. Still no towels (brought my own today) sweaty benches, paper towels out in restroom and other pics included. Edit update 6/13 Thanks for getting the towels back guys. Got you one more star back. Update 9/5 - they closed for a week and things looks great guys! The nappy carpets are gone for nice laminate flooring and a couple new machines were added. I appreciate the effort! Positive experience: Decent gym that’s advertised to be open 24/7 but only if the door scanner works. It’s progressively gotten worse over the past few months. Tried notifying staff with little sympathy. “Yea it does that some times…”

Positive experience: Been going here for a couple years and this is the best gym in town for weightlifters! The equipment is in good condition and well maintained. The sauna is a big plus but I wish they add some non slip and waterproof flooring in there. Staff is always really friendly and active around the gym cleaning up. It does get pretty busy at peak hours. With the growth of Bend and the memberships they have now, I wish they would open up a second location. Preferably with a basketball course. The Bend hoop location look’s available… just sayin…

Negative experience: Tried out this gym today. It’s not horrible. The gym equipment & the entire facility is definitely out dated. You can get a solid workout in, but challenging with some damaged equipment. Example: Peck Dec, one side is bent, plates don’t match & dumbbells are not well labeled or organized. Bathroom stall door doesn’t latch unless you lift up the door. Staff was friendly. The overall thing that pushed me away is the bad odor. It smells like dirty gym socks & feet. If they removed the carpet and gave it a good cleaning, then it would solve that issue.

Fantastic experience: Very clean and lots of weight machines plus the main reason why I choose this gym was the Sauna room I only wish they have heavy bags

Fantastic experience: As a recent transplant, and someone who actually prefers the commercial, big-box gyms (EoS/Gold's/24hr/LA), I stopped my gym search in Bend once I found Xcel. The formula (reasonably-priced monthly memberships, spacious free-movement/training/warmup/cooldown areas, variety in resistance training (machines/dumbbells/barbells), cardio machines) works for me and a lot of other people, hence why these gym-concepts are starting to take over the southwest/CA. Xcel likely had the golden recipe from the start; they simply offer and.. excel at, what most people want when it comes to incorporating and maintaining a fitness routine–a simple means of getting your body moving, where the only barrier to that is yourself.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been a member of Xcel for 5+ years, definitely the most equipped gym in Bend with amazing staff!! Rarely have issues finding space/equipment for my workout and the gym is always super clean. My favorite gym in Bend :)

Fantastic experience: I cannot even begin to rattle off the bajillions of things I adore about this gym - I’ll go with my very favorite aspects to save time the staff are the sweetest, most genuine folks. They are patient and supportive every single time I interact with them. The gym environment is maintained beautifully and the range in equipment is varied and functions great. They offer awesome kid care and I really appreciate that. They prioritize parents being able to take care of their body/mental health. I think my top favorite thing about this gym is that it feels like community and family. It is safe and comfortable and kind. I have been a member of mini gyms in my life, and this one takes the cake. I’m stayin put thank you Excel for all that you do!

Fantastic experience: My family has been doing crossfit at xcel for 1.5 years. Coaches are always supportive and willing to help mod my workout so that i can participate in crossfit. i started as an out of shape over weight 52 year old that had to mod the mod. Now i can do most workouts with little or no mod. Crossfit workout is 1 hour and it is over before you know it. No matter what shape you are in you can do crossfit with the right team suporting you.

Fantastic experience: Hands down the best gym in town. Since day one Tanner and Owen have made this gym feel like home. If people are having a hard time their fees.. Try Bend athletic, snap, or any other club.. this is the best.

Positive experience: Considered joining this gym. It’s your basic hard knocks gym, felt sweaty and dirty. For the price it’s probably worth it. Plus it’s open 24hr. But just not for me. Customer service was friendly and informative.

Fantastic experience: Staff are very friendly/welcoming. Stopped here for 3-4 days and was pleased. Enough equipment to get done whatever ya need to, and access to a sauna is a plus.

Positive experience: The Good- Free weight areas and machines are good. This is a good basic gym. Bunch of classes etc. that I didn't look into, but are popular. Pricing is good. The Bad- Sauna is unusable, and why I'm not joining after my test workout here. It's far too small, and far too rank (smells of a hermetically-sealed locker room from the 80s that was just now opened.). Gets very busy in the gym as a whole.

Fantastic experience: Been going to Xcell Fitness for a little over 2 years and it's the best gym in Bend, without a doubt. The facility has plenty of space and everything you need for any style of training. It’s contantly being cleaned and maintained on the daily so it never feels dirty. There is a diverse group of people (even for Bend) who go here and everyone is friendly and respectful. The thing that impresses me the most is how the Xcel team literally knows and greets everyone by name. That’s the kind of thing that makes a difference in peoples’ lives. The kind of thing that makes them feel seen, and accepted, and important. Xcel has big, positive energy within its walls. Go check it out and you’ll see why.

Fantastic experience: Possibly the best gym in Bend, and by far the best staff. I have trained at Xcel off and on for about 10 years, and the staff has always been top tier. The equipment is always in great shape and clean, and members seem to respect the operation of the gym for the most part. There's something for almost everyone at this gym.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been at this gym for 6 months and it’s the best I’ve ever been a part of. Staff are onsite 8am-8pm and are super friendly, and eager to help with equipment or questions. Very beginner friendly, with lots of experts in the space. It’s a huge open gym that has plenty of equipment, even at 5pm, and there is always a wide demographic of ages, genders, and levels of fitness. People are friendly, the space is clean, 10/10 would recommend.

Fantastic experience: I have been a member of xcel for 10 years now and have experienced nothing but professionalism and support from the staff. I have never had a billing issue they have been more than accommodating with pausing my membership for travel or injuries. Hands down the cleanest and best facility in bend.

"Jimmy Park" left you a bad review and did the same to out Gym, KINGMAN CROSSFIT, because he called and tried to sell us some gym management software. I told him I wasn't interested and he went back and left us a bad review for not buying his products. If you look on his google profile, which is probably fake, he only leaves bad reviews at fitness business. I hope this helps even things out for you guys! Cheers.

Negative experience: Be aware - get your membership cancellation request IN WRITING - or they'll continue to bill you and pretend they didn't hear it, then send your membership to collections when you flag the charges as fraudulent through your banking service. Excel only exists because there aren't any other gyms with as many free weights. That's literally it.

Negative experience: Would give zero stars if I could. Don’t bother giving them a call, Tanner will just rudely hang up on you mid sentence. Better options out there, don’t waste your time or money with them!

Positive experience: Great staff. They go above and beyond at all times. Locker rooms ( men's) is very small. Towels provided which is good and much appreciated !! Good vibe amongst the gym rats for the most part. Can't quite get the five stars due to some chronic lack of gear / older equipment and always being just shy of actually clean. But I love it here. Best option in Bend. Recent remodel was thoughtful and well done.

Negative experience: Donot go to this gym or membership to any location with Xcel fitness. They are very tricky scam you into membership. I have membership with them 1st month and I have to relocated. I request to cancel they rejected and keep taking my money very month.

Fantastic experience: Xcel Fitness is a great gym! The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, the facilities are clean, and there is a wide variety of workout equipment to choose from. I also highly recommend Jaelyn Israel as a personal trainer. She is very supportive, professional, and she makes workouts challenging, yet fun. She has taught this cardio junkie the joys and importance of strength training!

Fantastic experience: Xcel is one of the largest and well put together gyms I've ever visited! It's always clean and the machines are very well taken care of and serviced regularly. The staff are some of the nicest people you'll ever meet and go above and beyond to keep everything sanitary and functioning smoothly! I really enjoy the variety of CrossFit class times they offer. The X2 coaches are positive, uplifting, motivating and incredibly knowledgeable. The owners and staff go out of their way to make sure you feel like a part of the fit family, which can be really motivational for every and anyone at any point of their fitness journey! 10/10, highly recommend! Positive experience: So far in Bend this has been the best gym. Only thing is, it’s crowded most of the time when I go and all the equipment is pretty out dated.

Negative experience: too filthy and poorly maintained for me to be willing to go there. The organization of the gym didn’t really make sense either… everything seemed very pieced together. A lot of the equipment in this gym should be replaced due to wear and tear. Not a nice aesthetic, predictable, or clean environment.

Positive experience: Swell gym equipment, splendid employees, clean , but it's always so crowded and that's very off putting. I've been a bodybuilder for a majority of my adult life and I even feel very uncomfortable . I've been here a year and probably have only went a handful of times. Hopefully they'll reopen the other gym up on the south end by Fred Meyer's. Wishful hoping.

Fantastic experience: Staff is great, but please change the 80s poprock music. Take down at least thirty signs. Get rid of twenty spray bottles. This place feels like a 55+ community center and people are leaving en masse to planet fitness.

Fantastic experience: Best gym in town by far! It's the cleanest, most well maintained gym I would have to say in Oregon. Staff is very friendly and helpfull. There is always open equipment when it's busy during peak times, just adjust my workout slightly. Large enough to never feel overcrowded. The staff and ownerships commitment to creating the best gym in town insures me that it always will be.

Fantastic experience: Xcel Fitness offers a complete weight and cross-training gym for serious and recreational athletes of all types from the dedicated weight lifting sports of power lifting and body building to cyclists like myself that spend as much time in the gym working on strength, core, and balance as our busy on-the-bike training schedule will allow. I'm in Bend for a month and have thoroughly enjoyed using Xcel's facilities and equally, getting to know Xcel's staff and a handful of folks (clients) that are using the gym. Great price, great service, great management, head on down is my advice and don't miss the dry sauna!

Negative experience: Gym has great equipment and staff are fantastic. Unfortunately these factors don’t make up for the absurd amount of people that attend this gym. Would be recommend you be cautious about signing for a year until you have a good feel for how crowded this place gets. Crowd that attends is very off putting and plagued with steroid users.

Negative experience: Do not recommend this gyms crossfit, there coaches don't coach and train on proper form. They force you until 1 year contracts to avoid paying 150$ and easily charge more than any other crossfit affiliate without even close to the same level of structure or focus. There staff and coaches are nice but they don't coach or train on proper form

Fantastic experience: I was a skeptic about this gym because of the contract. (It is very hard to break the contract to this gym if you don’t want to go anymore). However after 1440 closed I had no choice but to join! I’m so thankful they have childcare and that the staff is super friendly. I am a huge fan and feel like family there! The pandemic really messed up a lot of businesses and Xcel was able to survive and that is a blessing! Thank you Xcel you guys rock!

Fantastic experience: This gym is amazing. Whether you an avid body builder or a crossfit guru, they have you covered. The staff knows you by your first name and they are super helpful. Fantastic experience: Xcel is an excellent gym. It's clean, well run and everyone is really friendly. I travel a bit for work and when I do I always sign up for a week pass to a gym in whatever city/state I am staying in. I have only visited one gym that closely rivaled the comprehensiveness of the equipment that Xcel has. All of the other gyms left me missing Xcel and wishing I were at home so I could get a good workout in. Keep up the good work Team Xcel!

Fantastic experience: Third gym I've joined since I moved to Central Oregon. By far the best. I've found a home. Clean , well equipped , helpful staff, very reasonable rates.

Negative experience: Okay gym, but a nightmare to cancel membership.

Negative experience: Ruined my credit when I tried to quit the gym. After not using the facilities for a few months, I decided to quit. Tried in person, they would not cancel my membership. Tried over the phone with their billing "service" (they don't do their own membership billing), they would not cancel my membership. They wanted me to sign up on a website. Wait, what!? I'm trying to QUIT the gym, not get access to anything. So when I cancelled my credit card to prevent them from stealing any more of my money, they reported me to the credit agencies. Absolutely horrific! I will gladly join a class action lawsuit against this organization, they should not be allowed to ruin anybody's financial reputation for not wanting to do business with them. STAY AWAY!!!

Negative experience: Good gym. Has good variety of equipment, clean and friendly staff. However has become completely overcrowded. There are times that I come to gym and leave immediately because of lack of available equipment or even parking. If business is booming that much then more equipment needs to be added or another location needs to be opened to members to better accommodate. Although I think Xcel is a good gym, I regret joining due to the overcrowded ness. Unless you plan on coming late at night unfortunately I have to not recommend this gym at this time.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been a member for a few weeks now and it’s everything I hoped for and more. Tanner always makes me feel extra welcome and everyone I’ve talked to is so genuinely nice. I love seeing so many women lifters too! It’s super inspiring!

Fantastic experience: This gym is the best in town I think. It's an open floor plan with lots of room to move around. Great selection of cardio. But more importantly there is both lever and pulley system machines, I prefer lever because its a smoother transition. Plus a large free weight area with plenty of benches.
