Fantastic experience: I dont know why some ratings are low but it was my second day and I absolutely love it. I go super early and it does stay busy, but there’s always room for weight and cardio. Bathroom is super clean and the sauna is in great shape. Good lobby to get some work done as well. I am not a gym brat so I cannot go into super details but as someone who occasionally visits the gym to get some exercise done, this is worth all the money.

Negative experience: I Walked in to get a tour not to work out was told that the membership person is not there until nine. I need to make an appointment. I asked if I could just be shown around so we don’t waste each other’s time she said that would be a $30 fee as a guest pass I told her I don’t wanna work out she said well it’s $30 and I said thank you but no thanks I think they need to realise that there are only reason that they are there is because we are there, and if we’re not there, there’s no reason for any of that staff to show up for work. Negative experience: Very hard to cancel your membership. They will bill you an extra month and either send to collections or hold your CC info hostage. See the 50 other reviews that say the same thing

Negative experience: Low quality gym, better off going to planet fitness for a fraction of the price

Negative experience: After a year I have made the decision to cancel my membership because I do not want to pay for one more day of old clean towels with horrible skid marks and unprofessional customer service.

Negative experience: I will have a lot of the same things as other people. 1. Shower heads for over half the showers either didn't shut off or have enough pressure to do anything for about 5 months. 2. Men's locker room smells like mold. 3. When the AC goes out in the weight room, no one cares even if the temperature hits 80 and can take a week to do anything. 4. Cable machines need general maintenance, even just a little bit of grease, oil or something but many of the weights don't slide up and down glides easily. 5. You'll never find a staff member picking up anything. Garbage and weights can be left untouched for days. 6. There is no way to contact management. No business cards or contact info on websites 7. Steam and dry sauna doors are disgusting and haven't been cleaned in 8 months now. I wiped the dry sauna door once as it got so bad and I can tell they still haven't cleaned it.

Negative experience: Website says pool closes at 8:45. Got kicked out for “pool closing” at 8:30.

Negative experience: Never got my refer incentive that they promised, I also wish the hours were longer.

Negative experience: I’ve been going for 8 months now, and it’s a shame that the changing rooms smell so bad and the AC never works.

Alexander Rose 11 months ago

Negative experience: It’s been an absurdly horrendous experience trying to cancel my membership after moving. They constantly make you go back and forth and back and forth.

Erik Rinebold 11 months ago

Negative experience: For the price I'm really not sure it's worth it anymore. I've been a member for over half a year now and I have to say the limited hours are very frustrating(especially when compared to other gyms), the do not properly air condition the facility, and some of the people that work here act bothered when you need their assistance. Overall I'm really not won over.

Negative experience: Great gym if you’re a white person with a Stanley cup who wants to be around other white people who look exactly like you. Best place in the city to pretend you’re working out while relaxing on a yoga mat.

Fantastic experience: I've been a member since the opening, great amenities including indoor pool (also a summer rooftop smaller pool), nice setup u have also a terrace for training outside, tons of fun classes (included in the membership fee) and friendly and super-professional instructors - totally recommend!

Positive experience: I agree with the comments below that this is a super nice gym but the hours are ridiculous- I’ve been a member here for years but am considering transitioning to xSport so that I can work out before 530 am. Even 5 am would be a huge improvement.

Negative experience: I have no problem with the gym equipment or the front desk staff. The front desk staff was friendly. That's why I give it a two-star. I recently cancelled my membership, and I found that my credit card info is still stored in my account. There is no way that I can remove it on my end. When I called and ask them to remove it. The membership agency said she couldn't delete it. She said since I'm not an active member, I won't be charged. I don't know why they refuse to remove my payment information after I cancel my membership. Technically, they can still charge me whenever they want.

Fantastic experience: It is a really nicely laid out. Gym. Staff was very friendly and helpful and they had everything you needed for a good workout. Classes are reasonable and come with the cost of your monthly fee.

Negative experience: Not that anyone with the CAC group responds or takes reviews seriously… because the worst issues seem to all be the same in negative reviews, all could be fixed and yet seems like they have no intent to resolve. 1. They have the shortest hours of any gym in Lakeview. This gym is small and already overcrowded at nearly every-time of day, horrible on weekends. Extended hours, which they had pre-Covid could relieve some of the peak hour congestion, like I said… seems an easy enough fix, esp if they are looking at other nearby gyms now open till at least 11PM. 2. WORMS and GNATS. Yes, when you are in the shower it isn’t rare to have to swat away a gnat or 3. Then as you look down at your feet there are tiny black worms wiggling and squirming around the drains in the showers. I’ve seen reviews here that mention this as a problem from over a year ago. Yet again…. Should be easy enough to get rid of, and yet they don’t bother. I’ve never seen anyone clean the shower stalls during the day or attempt to pour anything into the drains. 3. Certain staff can be very rude and catty and some of the gay guys working there go off on power trips by operating one set of gym rules for them and their friends and having different ones for people not part of their click. This gym is in Boystown so shouldn’t be a shock, I just would expect the employees to do the same as they expect from all members. No one likes a hypocrite. My advice is either go the cheaper route and use Xsport down the street, or if you want a similar experience with more equipment go to FFC East Lakeview.

David Estupinan 1 year ago

Positive experience: Its a pretty good gym with decent facilities and a variety of spaces to workout. My biggest problem with this gym is that in the year I've been going to it, they never allowed access to the giant climbing wall they have. Minor things like a reduced space to stretch or do any kind of functional training is ignorable. Some machines are starting to show wear and tear.

j.a.k. 1 year ago

Negative experience: This place is becoming impossible. Way too many members competing for limited equipment squeezing into every available corner to try to get some space. There are two root problems: 1) Poor floor plan leading to redundancy of underutilized equipment and cramping of popular equipment, 2) Wasted space of multiple rooms which typically sit idle. It is time for some new thinking and a radical transformation to maximize and reverse the rapidly deteriorating conditions.

Matt Chludzinski 1 year ago

Negative experience: Good gym. Small weight room but generally not a problem outside of busy hours. Biggest complaint is the hours of operation. You need to be open later than what you’re currently offering. I’ll likely be joining one of the many other gyms within ~0.5 mile radius that are open later into the evening.

Fantastic experience: I love this gym. It's a perfect mix of down-to-earth and nice. There's always such an upbeat vibe here. Generally fixes my mood if I feel beat down it gets pretty busy in the early evenings, which can feel overwhelming....but I can always find some machine that's open. AND I love the awesome classes!!

Joey S 1 year ago

Negative experience: I’ve been coming here for about 5 years. Honestly, half the people at the front desk seem like zombies or mean mug you, especially in the morning. The afternoon crew seem much more pleasant. The manager seems pleasant as well when I’ve had direct interactions, but maybe he has some RBF going on. This morning was sort of the last straw for me. When entering this morning around 7am (August 10 2023), the young blonde pony-tailed woman at the front desk didn’t even look up from her phone and she had AirPods in. I know it’s early, but it’s a pretty icky feeling when I nod or smile when checking in and I get a blank stare back or completely ignored. Sorry you’re so busy texting and listening to a podcast at work to make some eye contact lol.

Fantastic experience: I’ve had a great time at this gym so far. Love having access to an outdoor pool. The classes have been great. I have a weird schedule so they don’t always align. Again I go at weird times so it’s never super busy. For the price, it’s definitely worth it. Feels sooooooo much nicer than the LA Fitness I used to go to. Very clean and I’ve never had any sort of issues.

Positive experience: Very clean facilities. Indoor pool is small. Roof pool is tiny. Both still nice features. Holiday hours are typically very short. Extending the holiday hours would be great.

Roman Sekej 2 years ago

Negative experience: Decent gym, nice personnel, but the hours are ridiculous…. 7pm on the weekend?! Do better

Daniel Hughes 2 years ago

Negative experience: It's a shame because this gym has the potential to be great but it falls far short. Problem one is the staff. They are quite frankly standoffish at best and surly as worst. I recently had one staff member chase me around the shower and peer into my shower stall with me naked (yes really) because it was close to closing time and he apparently really wanted to go home. The second issue is hours. The gym closes at 9pm on weekdays which is not standard practice for a big city gym. Every other gym in Lakeview pretty much is 24 hours or open until at least 10pm on weekdays. This gym shortened its hours during Covid and never went back to reasonable hours. The facilities could truly be great with the two pools, etc., but unfortunately the short hours and frequently unpleasant staff make this gym subpar.

Naethan Burch 2 years ago

Positive experience: As someone who has been a member since 2017, I have mixed feelings about this gym now in 2023 knowing what it used to be. Pre-COVID, this gym was top notch but it never quite bounced back. The gym itself is pretty decent. Overall, there are five floors and a rooftop pool: Floor 1/Basement: Men’s locker room and pool/hot-tub (20 yds and three lanes) Floor 2/Main Floor: Entrance, cycle studio, women’s locker room, and a rock climbing wall (which has been closed since 2020) Floor 3: Dance studio for various classes Floor 4: Weight room on turf w/ four squat racks, a smith machine, a couple of benches, a bunch of dumbbells, barbells, cables, machines, etc. Floor 5: Dance studio for yoga classes and a large cardio area w/ treadmills, ellipticals, stationary bikes, erg machines, etc. Roof: Pool that is open during the summer (people mostly just lounge here) The main complaint I have with this gym is the hours. The gym has never returned to pre-COVID hours and currently closes at 9pm on Mon-Thurs, 8pm on Fri, and 7pm on the weekend. This is pretty embarrassing. The result is a gym that has the same foot traffic as pre-COVID but fewer hours. X-Sport (3 blocks south) and Planet Fitness (several blocks north) are both 24 hrs. FFC East Lakeview and Quads Gym both close at 10pm during the week. This gym tries to distinguish itself for its classes but my perception is that programing seems to have been decreased post-COVID as well (at least the spin and free-climb classes). The rock-climbing wall has never re-opened to my knowledge and there has not been any indication that it ever will. As some of the other reviewers have mentioned, last summer there were AC/HVAC issues that made working out feel like you were in a sauna. The locker rooms have showers, the lockers have key code locks attached, and there are towels available for you to use. The pools both seem small but if you really wanted to you could go to the West Loop location which has a 25m pool. You can purchase personal training if you want and it seems that the trainers are pretty professional. You also used to be able to purchase sports massages here but that is no longer a thing after 2020. The employees working here are really nice although reading other reviews it seems cancellations are difficult (you must give 30 days written notice). I believe guest passes are $25. At the end of the day, it's an okay gym. I just have a hard time knowing how much better it used to be. All I really want is for all CAC locations to return to their old hours of operation and I would be fine with the other post-COVID nuances (barring another HVAC failure).

Julian Gines 2 years ago

Negative experience: An ok gym, small weight room, not a lot of selections. The main complaint is the hours. Why are we closing at 9pm? There's absolutely no good explanation for this. When I signed up it was until 9:30. Those of us who workout in the evening have a small window of time after getting off work to get in. You need to extend your hours to at least 10pm.

Fantastic experience: Great club, I visited under friends and family promo. Will look to join if we move here.

Jonathan Dale 2 years ago

Negative experience: LVAC but the HVAC prob won’t work as it was down most of the summer 2022. Guesting policy is abysmal even after HVACageddon. The front desk is friendly and greet-able 10% of the time (if they even notice you, though the morning crew gets positive props). The machine servicing is way delayed. That’s about it. Oh wait, there is a pool though.

Sam G 2 years ago

Positive experience: Staff is friendly and helpful. Locker room is more than serviceable, and plenty of cardio equipment. The instructor quality for classes ranges, but you can find ones you like. The weight room is too small for such a busy gym. It’s pretty hard to get a decent lift near peak hours.

A B 2 years ago

Negative experience: This gym is completely oversubscribed. The hours and physical space are insufficient to accommodate the number of people trying to work out in the evening. Don't join. They don't have space for more members. It's gone downhill in other ways. The equipment is old. Mamagement is totally nonresponsive. It's sad. This used to be the best gym in the neighborhood. Here is a running list of problems, which I'll update once a month or so if they address things (or if new problems emerge): ***Ask about these if you take a tour!*** First, credit where credit is due, here are a few things they have finally addressed: 1) Drain worms that were in the shower stalls for at least 3 years seem to be gone. (Yes, actual worms wriggling around in the showers! ) That it took them years to address this gross, frequently-reported problem is telling. 2) After a year or more of most of the shower heads leaking, they have mostly been fixed. But again, why did this take so long? And why not fix the rest of them? Ongoing problems: (3) Still on COVID early closing hours and close at 8 or 9pm on weeknights and even earlier on the weekend. Hello - it's 2025! The gym is jam-packed from 4pm till nearly closing time, and there's often a wait for equipment. Then they are shooing a bunch of people out of the locker room at 8:58pm. This is not rocket science: They are closing too early. Or stop enrolling people if your priority is to have short hours. There are just too many people for the evening hours they currently maintain. (4) I have never seen them clean the locker rooms or showers during the day. So the floors in particular are kind of gross by evening. How hard would it be to give the floors an extra mopping now and then? (5) Zero communication. They have an app and our contact info. In the past they would email if, say, the pool was closed one day. But in recent years they can't be bothered. The locker room was randomly closed for two days recently but rather than letting people know that, you had to physically arrive at the gym and the see a sign saying that it was closed. Be more considerate and keep people informed. (6) Water fountain filter status was flashing "needs maintenance" for almost a year and now the red/yellow/green filter lights are just turned off. Why not fix this? (7) Flaps of rubber coating literally peeling off the dumbells in the 2nd floor studio. (8) The "from the owner" statement here claims they have rock climbing programs. That's a straight up lie. The climbing wall has been closed for years. (8) Nonresponsive management. Use their contact form, check the box asking for a response, and they will ignore you. 100% of the time. (9) Wait times for equipment, like treadmills or any of the leg machines. Only two bench press stations for the whole gym. This used to be an amazing gym, but they have let it become a mediocre, crowded gym with short hours. CAC needs to expand the hours and put a new management team on site. If you need to charge us $5/more a month to operate the gym properly, do it. For any entrepeneurs out there: Lakeview needs a high-end gym. Why can't we have something like VIDA or TMPL here? There are spaces available in the neighborhood now.

Gigi M. 2 years ago

Negative experience: This Gym has declined so much - It is shocking - Womens locker room has mold everywhere - The showers are rarely cleaned and disinfected - The towels are old and shredded - Steam room has no health department schedule as in most properly managed gyms - Members go into steam & sauna fully dressed - with shoes - talking on their cell phones with shoes on the wall - If you leave weights out will find them in the exact location days later ---The decline in maintenance and care is palpable-

Samuel Tan 2 years ago

Fantastic experience: Everything that you could possibly want in a gym is here in one convenient location! There are the standard free weights, machines, treadmills, ellipticals plus, they have pools, an awesome climbing and bouldering wall, plus a wide range of classes all included in the monthly membership. You could really spend a lot of time at this gym just doing a variety of things and getting into shape. The gym is really clean, the staff do a great job of ensuring that fresh towels are always available. Because of the size of the gym, even when it's crowded, you never feel like you have to wait to get on a machine or use a free weight. It's close proximity to the lakefront also gives one the option of going for a run by the lake, when the weather is nice, and then heading back inside for a workout on the weights. One thing I really appreciate about the membership structure is that you don't have to commit to a year long membership, you can go month to month and even if you are on an annual membership, you can freeze it and reactivate it later. Awesome flexibility!

Fantastic experience: the showers are the best, it has two heads and you feel like you are at a spa. love this gym a bit pricey but worth the price, the staff is very friendly. I usually take a couple of classes during the week. like the Thursday maximum force kickboxing class with Paul, I lose like three pounds every time I take the class. I also take the CRX class to help me with my abs and TRX for an overall body body workout. they staff also really encourages you to keep fit and help you keep motivated. Thursday you get free access to all the gyms.

Fantastic experience: LVAC is the best gym I've belonged to so far. Unlike many other fitness facilities, the staff are friendly, efficient, and very helpful--the front desk always sends someone to help when I need to hang a heavy boxing bag. Fantastic experience: This place rocks! Open 7 days a week, the facility is always clean, the cardio machines are in great working condition and there is rarely a wait for weights or other equipment. The spinning class is one of the most popular classes and the boxing for beginners is pretty fun. The hidden gem of LAC is the rooftop pool! They could use a few more loungers on the roof but it's perfect for people without a pool in their building.

Negative experience: I have been a member of LVAC for over a year. The club is very clean and the equipment is good. My biggest complaint is that their check in experience is terrible. They typically have 2 to 3 people at the front desk who I assume are being paid to check in customers. Half the time they don't even look up from their phones or screens to acknowledge or greet people. The last two mornings there were at least three people at the front desk and not one of them even acknowledged me presence when I checked in (one was the manager)!!! The manager of the club has never said hi to me or even looked at me the many times I have seen him, so this sort of explains why the bad customer service trickles down. I go to the club every morning seven days a week. At my last club (FFC boystown) the check in experience was wonderful and I was almost alway welcomed each morning by name and with a geniuine smile. FFC obviously has some great customer service training for the people checking people in and LVAC should greatly enhance their customer service training (if it even exists). Why pay at least 2 people to be at the front desk to check people in, when these people barely acknowledge or greet people? The appear to be bored, kind of miserable and disconnected with their members. The club manager at FFC was also wonderful at greeting people and smiling at them when he saw his members using his gym.

Negative experience: Gym was ok - horrible policy for membership. Signed paperwork three years ago & they continuously renewed, no one ever reached out to check to see if I wanted to continue. When I tried to cancel my membership I was asked “why” & if I wanted to move home gym locations. I was then charged a fee for the notice time plus an additional month. Make sure you know what you’re getting into before you sign up for this gym.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been a member for one month now and I really love the ballet burn and yoga classes there. I agree with the other reviewers that the AC is a huge problem in this location because in 80-90 degrees outside the AC practically barely works so my workouts have been miserable from this point of view but other than that great atmosphere and instructors. Very nice workout studios with gorgeous views. P.S. Please, add more aquatics to the schedule… specifically Aqua TBT in late afternoons or evenings few times a week or weekends will be very appreciated.

Negative experience: I used to absolutely love this gym. However, as others have mentioned the AC has been broken for the better part of a year (certainly the entire summer). I have tried to use the cardio floor and left before starting my run because it was in the high 80s.

ᄏᄃ 2 years ago

Negative experience: Looks like another gym in lakeview is going bust. They can't even afford to fix their AC, which has been broken for much of the year, and the entire summer. Working out there in the heat is miserable. Where is the membership money going? I don't expect this gym will be around in a few months, and certainly wouldn't sign an annual contract there ...

Mike Miller 2 years ago

Negative experience: tired of the lack of AC being broken and lack of effort to assure members of fixes and keep temps down. More fans, more maintenance and an apology.

Daniel R 2 years ago

Negative experience: I wouldn’t recommend this poorly maintained facility to my worst enemy. You truly do get what you pay for at $89 per month. I’d rather pay more to a facility that has a working HVAC system and values their members. It takes every ounce of energy for the front desk staff to greet members. Inquired about swim lessons via email and the so called “Aquatics Director” was just as rude as the front desk staff. I suppose I shouldn’t have expected anything more. I have immediately canceled my membership and unfortunately will need to remain a member until August 17. I cannot wait to be a valued member at F45 Training.

Julian Garcia 3 years ago

Negative experience: Gym is big, amenities are nice. Air conditioning is a serious issue. 70 degrees out but 90 degrees on weight room and cardio floors. Its unbearable. Also the mens locker room is the worst smelling locker room I have ever been in bar none. It looks clean but smells absolutely rancid. On the upside, I dont need to use the sauna because the weight floor is so hot. Really need to get their HVAC fixed or I'll have to sign up at xsport down the street or quads gym. Shame too since Ive been a CAC customer for 5+ years now.

Negative experience: The air conditioning situation is absurd. You pay premium gym prices and they can’t even keep the cardio floor at a decent temperature. 60 degrees outside, 80 degrees on the cardio floor. What is it going to be like when it’s actually hot out?! Canceled my membership.

Negative experience: Dirty. Rundown. They continued to charge me when closed, and sent the account to collections.

Positive experience: I love this gym. But please, please change the music playlist! It is the exact same all days. Specifically rotate that mexican cumbia music, it is just unbearable

Fantastic experience: I use the gym for tri training and weight lifting, with the 20 yard pool, weights, plenty of treadmills and bikes, it has pretty much everything you need to workout.

Fantastic experience: Peter is absolutely amazing. I’ve had the privilege of training with him for a few weeks now, and already seeing great initial results. His masterful skills and great energy produces an environment for total success. The gym is well kept and it’s clients are follow proper gym etiquette.

Fantastic experience: Great club with wonderful amenities. Very clean and, when not COVID-19 times, comfortable.

Fantastic experience: I was a member of LVAC for about two years and had a great experience. The facility is absolutely gorgeous — spacious and clean. The rooftop pool is a unique perk. And considering the included access to all group classes, the price is super reasonable. I really enjoyed all of the group fitness instructors — BodyPump and ballet were particularly fun. The indoor pool is nice too, and usually empty. Importantly, I’ve always had great experiences with their member services. When life changes got in the way, they cancelled my membership no questions asked.

Fantastic experience: I inquired about membership. Kasey (membership advisor) gave me a tour of the facility and answered all my questions.

Fantastic experience: A gym that has it all. They have a decent range of workout equipment as well as 2 pools (one in the basement and one on the roof), a sauna, and a jacuzzi

Aaron 3 years ago

Negative experience: As some previous posters have mentioned: - Too crowded to be safe for covid (mask mandates are back) - Asked to cancel my membership after my year agreement, but they kept charging me!

Negative experience: They close sooooo early. Also getting crowded

Negative experience: Switched to LVAC from FFC and a bit disappointed. There is a serious lack of weights and equipment. Also, most of the equipment is old and dirty. Reminds me more of an LA Fitness/XSport but triple the price.

Nick H 3 years ago

Negative experience: The quality of LVAC has fallen a long way. The hours are much shorter now - up to two hours of less open time per day. It’s unclear if the air conditioning has been turned on for the summer - if it’s on you certainly can’t tell. Even on the cooler days it’s much, much warmer inside. Machines have cobwebs, if that’s any sign of the cleaning regimen. It’s hard to say if it can continue to decline further.

Negative experience: The hours have not returned to pre-pandemic yet. Hoping that changes soon and will update my review

Negative experience: It’s a good gym but it feels like a funeral, it’s been a month since the speakers don’t work in the third floor, a gym without music? And they give towels to clean the equipment instead of wipes like if we pay $10 a month

Aaron Nadell 4 years ago

Negative experience: This is a very good gym, but unfortunately they have ripped me off. I froze my account at the start of the pandemic and just found out they have been charging me for months. When I tried to discuss this with them on the phone, they acted like it was my fault. Why is every gym so eager to rip you off?

Andrew Martin 4 years ago

Fantastic experience: I was weary going to the gym post covid but they have done everything in their power to try to make it as safe as possible. All the members seem to be following all the instructions.

Fantastic experience: I was a member here when I lived in Chicago and after moving and joining other gyms, I cannot say enough good things about this gym. No other gym I've been to stands up to LVAC. Incredibly clean, well kept, excellent spa-like locker rooms, and the teachers and trainers were amazing, specifically one man who taught Body Pump! He put together the best playlist and always brought his energy and excitement and I miss his class! Highly recommend this gym.

Negative experience: K...let's start at 5 stars, 'cause who doesn't wanna be a 5 on a 5 star scale? I'll justify this b/c it's a gym, it's in my neighborhood, and it's close by. Now, because it's THIS gym, let's move down the scale. For starters, this gym is pretty dirty. The cleaning staff does a mediocre job at best and, if you're really paying attention? You'll notice that the same towels we're provided with to wipe sweat from ourselves are the same towels they use to clean. Literally. Those skunked up stained towels that are in the mix with the rest of the dingy piles? Yeah, those probably (somewhat poorly) cleaned a machine or something similar, then got laundered with the rest of the towels and now you're wiping your face with them. Enjoy! Further, there's dust and grime everywhere (yet they still asphyxiate me by casually swiping around cleaning chemicals while I'm doing cardio). Heck, they won't even clean the front doors to remove what looks like throwup on the outward facing handles inside the glass. And you KNOW that staff and management can clearly see both. Check out that pile of dust that's collected under every machine. Or in the corners of the windowsills (not to mention that they NEVER clean the exterior of the windows and those f'in cobwebs have been there for years). You can also be sure that the green lawn floor covering on the 3rd floor has never been deep cleaned. I could go on and on, but just take a closer look pretty much anywhere and you'll see this and MUCH more. Now let's mention the men's locker room sinks that don't provide hot water. Or the handles that you lift to turn the water on that fall on their own. Or the constantly broken soap dispensers. Or the mold on the inside edges of the mirrors. Or the wet areas that I won't even get near b/c they are frighteningly unclean and unsanitized. Again, I could go on and on. Now on to the relatively poor equipment upkeep. Most of the cable and other machines need lubrication b/c they don't operate smoothly. Many of the machine pads need replacing and the machines themselves need deep cleaning. The mats SUCK and are generally dirty. It's obvious that no one on staff does regular checks on the machines to ensure functioning, cleanliness, or timely and often much-needed repairs. Seemingly, we're supposed to overlook all of this because we're provided mostly broken spray bottles--yes, you too are the cleaning staff--to spritz and wipe this, that, and the other with. The dirty cleaning supply buckets and lids that are used for these bottles and to collect dirty towels and washcloth cleaning rags just add to the charm of it all. A few of these things would be bearable if I felt that staff was actually attending to them, but no. I've brought these things up many times over the YEARS and pretty much nothing gets addressed--thus the above-mentioned. I'm surely missing many things, like the mostly staring at the phone, utterly monotone greetings you often get entering and exiting (with one notable and pleasant exception), but this post sums up a good bit. I'm also likely skunking this 2-star gym by giving 1-star, but after writing this post I'm feeling the latter. So...back to me wishing that some other, clean and delightful gym drops itself into the neighborhood so I can literally drop this place like a rock and head elsewhere.

Negative experience: Causing the drop in stars is due to their COVID response. They allowed you to freeze your membership and said your days you missed from March would be credited to your account - they NEVER said that your membership freeze would be in place AFTER your already paid for days ran out once gyms opened on 7/27. Poor communication and unprofessional - i will be looking for new gyms to go to. In normal times, there is not any better gym in the city for the price, but really upset with their handling of customer billing during this time.
