Fantastic experience: Love this gym. Unfortunately I am no longer staying in CA so had to leave the gym. Highly recommend it if anyone lives in the area.

Fantastic experience: Everything you’d want in a gym. Clean facility, great equipment, friendly and knowledgeable staff, and a sense of community. One of their trainers and directors, Ricardo, has been a huge help to me in recovering from a pec tear surgery through a multi-faceted recovery protocol including myofascial release, stretching, and modified training techniques. As a long time member, this review was over due.

Positive experience: The price tag at first glance is shocking but thr classes are included. If you take advantage of even one per week it’s incredibly worth it. The free weight area is a little small and spread out. For a newbie it’s a little tough to figure out where to go/be. Bathroom/locker rooms are great. Eucalyptus towels are a nice touch. Location is unbeatable, rooftop staring at the ocean is insane.

Positive experience: First off, this gym is beautiful and is in a very convenient location for me. The equipment is very nice and the place is kept very clean. I saw a lot of reviews about the lockerrooms but I havnt seen any issues with these facilities. The only issue I've had with them is there is a lack of locker space available. Every other visit i do not have a locker available. The cost of this gym is quite high when compared to other gyms in the area. If the price was lowered I would say this place is 5/5 stars. One other thing is that there is a lack of deticated resistance workout equipment. If the gym is super busy you might have to wait a bit for the equipment you want to use that day. Personally I've never had to wait for than a couple minutes for a machine but I don't go during typical busy hours. This gym has a LOT of classes and if that's what you're looking for I would highly recommend this gym. Overall this gym is great, clean, good equipment, and has a comfortable atmosphere. It just needs a lower price for membership.

Fantastic experience: Kylie is amazing, I highly recommend getting services from her. She also explained a lot of services available for me (especially as a single mom). The atmosphere has a positive attitude. The employees always have a smile!

Fantastic experience: Love this gym, amazing facility and great rooftop! I had to cancel because I moved out of state and the management made it easy to end the membership. (Unlike other high end gyms I’ve belong to where it seems like you need a lawyer to end a gym membership) Definitely will join again if I return to Long Beach. Great staff, great vibe.

Positive experience: Great gym overall, enjoyed my time there. But to be honest it’s too small for how many people go here. I feel like they oversold how many memberships they give out. A typical 1 hour and 20 minute workout would end up taking me over 2 hours during a weekday at peak hours. Nice people, great equipment, but just too small for the amount of people. It’s unfortunate because who doesn’t want to go to a nice gym on the beach.

Positive experience: Good gym for the actual floor space, equipment, trainers, and location. But as for being marketed as a luxery gym not so much, and mostly due to the awful locker rooms. They're the first and last place I visit and it always leaves a bad impression. All of the provided soaps, lotions, shampoos are all either empty, open, broken, or missing. Better hope you get one of the three available towels, everything is wet and they even have a sign for EVERYONE to dry their feet on the same fungus infested towl by shower! The sink faucets barely dribble water if the motion sensor even sees you. And the steam room barely works if at all. I like the rest of the gym but the locker rooms just make me feel disappointed when I arrive and then again when on my way out. Please start taking care of the locker rooms.

Negative experience: as I was walking by with my son and daughter, my son tripped on the sidewalk that Iconix failed to maintain. No big deal. But there's a bit of blood. I went inside to see if they had a first aid kit. I stood there while the receptionist served everybody but me, failing to even make eye contact or acknowledge me when I tried to gently get her attention. I don't know what was happening. Maybe we just looked out of place. But those five minutes needlessly uncomfortable.

Fantastic experience: This is a premier health club with dignity and the utmost respect for health and physical activity. The classes are great and if I had the disposable income to have this as my gym for a year again, I would do it. Ryan, Kurt, and many more people here are so nice.

Positive experience: It’s a very pretty gym & very clean. It’s just a bit small and crowded for my liking

Fantastic experience: Going off first impressions this gym is elite, super clean, helpful staff, beautifully designed with ocean views, rooftop access, designated equipment areas, good and working equipment, they offer many amenities for the price which is expensive to begin with but if you’re serious about your fitness goals the added bonuses this gym offers are worth it. I came here as a visitor with a friend and I’m only basing my opinion off the first few days coming here, he’s gotten the membership I am undecided. So far my overall experience was good.

Positive experience: Been going here for over a year now but seems quality has gone done a little bit this year so far. The men’s showers haven’t had cold water in about a week now and the men’s locker room consistently doesn’t have paper towels. Makes me question whether the male staff wash their hands at all. Hope things go back to how they were, considering checking out other gyms.

Fantastic experience: My favorite place

Negative experience: Don't get me wrong; this is a nice gym; however, I recently decided that I'm going to cancel my membership. My biggest issue is this gym closes before its posted hours or closes for random events without communicating it to its members. They closed early this year the Sunday before Halloween and yesterday for a employee appreciation party. Both times I showed up, they were closed, no email, no notification, nothing. The employees will tell you it's a one-time thing; however, this happens with regulatory. As a member, we pay a lot of money for our memberships, and it's unacceptable that we cannot use the facility we are paying for. I mean when did the Sunday before Halloween become a holiday? What other business would close early to have parties for their staff on the member's dime? I find generally weekends are the worst when it is clear there is no supervision for their staff. Last month they turned the lights off in the locker room before closing time to try and get people out quicker. One time they even unlocked all the gym locks on the lockers five minutes before they closed. Fortunately, no one stole anything from my locker. The staff just does not care and wants to leave precisely at closing time. It's clear to me that ownership which I happen to like, is not paying close enough attention to what their staff is doing or is trying to staff to the bare minimum. If this were Planet Fitness prices, I would not complain; however, at Equinox pricing this is simply not acceptable.

Positive experience: Nice place to be part of a gym in.

Fantastic experience: What an amazing place! I joined this gym as a birthday present to myself and I could not be happier with my decision. The classes are great, the staff is professional and courteous, and the owners of the gym believe in the product that they sell because they are there with their family working out alongside you. Truly a great experience. I feel like I am working out at a Las Vegas Spa every time I go there. Yoga with wine? How could you not love that?!?!? Is it expensive? No, not for what you get! In addition there is a ton of free street parking with a two-hour limit. There is also a parking lot the size of a football field with 2-hour metered parking which is seldom used. That parking lot is free prior to 8 a.m. and after 6 p.m.

Fantastic experience: I was working out from home for over 2 years and I decided to try out a new gym. I wanted to find a nice gym that has good classes, instructors and a place with GOOD ENERGY. I am very about being around good, nice, positive people and I was a little nervous checking out Iconix bc it's sooo nice that I was hoping it would be a welcoming environment. Ya know how sometimes ppl can be pretentious.. BUT DEF NOT HERE! Right when I walked in people were saying hi and sooo nice! It was a great sign! I checked out the gym and it is soooo clean, nice, professional, every detail in that gym is done impeccably and well thought out to be WARM, meaning for someone like me that can be intimidated by a new place, people, it is set up where you can really feel comfortable/safe with working out on your own or with people. For ex, there are cardio machines upstairs away from the main floor if you want to do your own thing up there. The owner has done an incredible job being very INTENTIONAL with this space, thinking about every single inch of it (from the actual architecture, workout rooms, amazing rooftop, where machines are placed and he chooses the right people to work there) and making it the amazing place it is today. The classes are the BEST classes EVER!!!! There is every class you can possibly think of: HIIT, Strength (weights), Yoga, Pilates, Cycle, etc. I have taken most of them and I can 100% say you will get a great workout and you can always go at your own pace. I am really active and the classes are great and challenging, however, I did tear my achilles a few years ago so sometimes I need to take it really slow/light and I'll still take the classes and go at my own slower pace - the instructors will always support you at any level and give you alternatives. BTW ALL THE INSTRUCTORS ARE SOOOOOO amazing, so nice, so welcoming, so attentive!! It's literally a dream to workout in this gym btw. Super nice, good people (the ppl that workout there) and the INSTRUCTORS are not only next level experienced but so amazingly nice, positive and real! Robin - Teaches several classes StrengthX, HIIT, Yoga, etc. she is sooo amazing!!! Literally an angel from above! She's first off, in great shape, so inspirational to look at! She is so soo soooo nice, attentive, helpful, and knows what she is doing. She makes everyone feel soooo welcome no matter who you are! Her classes are so good too!! You'll feel like HELLLL YAAA I DID THAT!!!! She has so much experience and I love that she always challenges us and supports us at every level! I love the classes and was intimidated to use the machines but I finally wanted to learn! So I booked a session with Robin and she showed me all the machines and made me feel so confident to use everything. I say this bc I am usually a cardio or class type of gal so that whole realm was new to me. I FEEL and LOVE that I feel confident now that I know what I am doing so thank you Robin!! I really cannot emphasize how amazing these instructors are, it's like taking an hour out of your day and getting a good hit of dopamine - the good healthy kind lol. I love Brittany B HIIT/Strength), Rachel B (HIIT/Strength), Steven R (Spin/Strength), Tyler R (yoga), Peter D (boxing), Torey (Spin) and more I am prob forgetting!!! But yes they're all GREAT! I'm sharing all of this in detail because this gym really did change my life. I wanted to work on myself and my health: mental, physical, emotional, spiritual and I am so happy that I found a beautiful place that has helped me do all of this. I've met such incredible people and NEW friends (some lifelong now!) thru this gym. Lastly... I was spending money before on going out, on STUFF, etc. I pulled back on all of that to really invest in myself here to honor myself. My body, my mind, my intentions for myself .. and what you get out of putting in the investment here... is priceless. Putting my health first here has made every part of my life so much better. So yes if you're thinking about joining.. this is your sign (if you got down this far)!!

Fantastic experience: Iconix Fitness is without question the best gym in the area. Their staff is knowledgeable, friendly and outgoing. They have no staffing issues at this gym, plenty of staff walking around. Everyone of their clientele are helpful and willing to spot, assist etcetera. Their personal trainers are without question best I’ve ever interacted with. Their knowledgeable in proper form, proper diet, proper weight, and more importantly, proper expectations. I would recommend Garrett for personal training. This gym is along the lines of Equinox, in cleanliness, friendliness, size, equipment and staff, just without that exorbitant cost. Their expanded outdoor space makes it even less crowded inside. Keep up the great work and keep up the quality staff!!

Fantastic experience: Iconix Fitness is the best gym in Long Beach. They have a multitude of class offerings. Jake R. is an outstanding exercise instructor. I am grateful for his help. He is highly skilled. I have made improvements in his class. He is personable and nice. His class is fun and never boring. He is excellent at making things understandable for the class participants. I would highly recommend Iconix and Jake's classes.

Fantastic experience: World class and certified trainers that vary in intensity, skill level and specialty, excellent group classes (all day), clean and well cared for equipment and facilities that improve on a semiannual to annual basis, weights always put away (in order), quality gear and nutrition/snack shop convenient at entrance, and a cafe that sells breakfast and lunch items as well as various healthy protein items (meals, bars and shakes). I’ve been a member for 3.5 years. Worth every penny.

Fantastic experience: This is the best gym ever in my opinion. The gym is super clean, staff is super nice and professional (I tend to forget my stuff after my training and they always wait for me in "The lost and found" the next day) , great coffee, steam room, showers, outdoor and indoor gym, animation programs, etc... Keep up the great work guys, you are doing great!!

Fantastic experience: If you are interested in a gym that has all things fitness under one roof then Iconix is your place! I stopped in to work out for a few days while on vacation in the area. The facility was clean and the front desk associates were polite and organized. Justin gave me a tour; he was professional, never pushy and treated me as though I was already part of the community. The gym sells itself as it has several areas to lift, do cardio, spin, stretch and there are a hundred plus classes to choose from. A few details that spoke to me were the free amenities like towel service, steam room, and disposable toiletries like that razor you forgot to pack in your gym bag or a plastic bag to stuff your wet gym clothes in. There is also a smoothie and coffee bar to boot! If I were ever to move to the Long Beach area, this is where I would choose to work out. Thank you Iconix for a great work out.

Negative experience: I just signed up to get a potential membership at your gym but read this online: 'To hell with the governor': Iconix gym owner hosts yoga in violation of health orders. Not the kind of place I want to support.

Fantastic experience: Iconix Fitness is a premiere fitness experience that is unbeatable and unmatched. It is a community of amazing people, that both work there and workout there, that have become friends and like family to me. The trainers, two in particular, are the reason so many of us come day after day. There is Erin, a trainer that'll push you to your limit in workouts that challenge the body and mind. One of her mantras is "be comfortable being uncomfortable" and although she does push you to be your best, she makes you feel comfortable and welcomed. Her smile, laugh, love of training, and passion for fitness are the reason so many of us go to her classes every week. Then there is Chris, who has one of the biggest hearts ever. Chris is incredibly knowledgeable about fitness, health, and nutrition. He creates well-planned workouts for his classes and is my go-to for personal training. His care, knowledge, and expertise are so incredibly helpful. The facility itself is incredibly clean and even in these outdoor workout times, remains incredibly clean and well taken care of. The diversity of choices in regards to machines, fitness areas, and classes means your workout will never be boring. And of course the beach views aren't bad either.

Fantastic experience: For all the people looking for a new place to workout, look no further. Iconix gym in Belmont shores is amazing . Fist of all its clean , very clean with lovely people who continually clean all the time. The hand picked professionals who work at Iconix are kind and always there to help guide you to your workout and health needs I am working with a very talented professional trainer Hayley and she has my back with all my physical issues. Having said that I’m improving every week and feel so much better both physically and emotionally. So happy with the work Hayley and I are doing together. Iconix has you covered they offer a huge variety of workouts. State of the art equipment and team members. They are open with a great outside workout. It’s a pleasure come to a gym that offers so much!

Fantastic experience: I absolutely love working out at Iconix (aka Olympix)! I have been a member since I moved to Long Beach and am constantly impressed by how accommodating they are. Erin is highly qualified. Her classes are always well thought out and executed to perfection. She is a beast and will make you sweat! Erin is the definition of a "bad***", she lives and breathes fitness. Chris is so knowledgeable and genuinely cares about his clients. He is always willing to accommodate those that need an alternative and is SO patient with all of us. I am most grateful to the group dynamic these two trainers foster within their classes, some of the people I love the most, I met in taking Erin & Chris' classes every morning. When lock down first happened I was devastated. Iconix has done everything they can to continue satisfying their members whilst ensuring CDC recommendations for the safety of all members. I cannot wait until we can go back inside, it is always so clean and well kept. This is a gym you will look forward to going to daily, I highly recommend Iconix Fitness. :)

Negative experience: Called to discuss why they do not fully disclose pricing on their website and Mandy said they wanted to keep things personal. It is my opinion that non-disclosure of pricing is a red flag for selective memberships. Do to lack of transparency, my experience is a 1 star.

Positive experience: 1. Membership cancellation process is not clear. After an e-mail on August 3rd 2020 I was still got charged for September. 2. It took four weeks to get a reply about a concern with music choices for group classes last year. As a premier gym explicit music is not acceptable same as using profanity in group classes. 3. If you're looking for group classes this is not an ideal gym, as classes were very crowded and not easy to register. However they do have good equipment if you want to work out on your own. 4. I purchased 4 training sessions, used only two, assigned trainer was not an ideal match and tried to up-sale more training sessions from the start. 5. Yoga classes have a great view and excellent instructors, however limited space, especially on weekends. This is not an ideal gym for me as I prefer group classes, it might an ideal gym for you. Update: After talking to Adam, membership issue was resolved. Thank you for your help Adam!

Fantastic experience: Clean! All the machines are outside, perfect fit for Covid

Negative experience: Rude staff and incompetent management. I’d avoid, especially considering all of the other recreational opportunities in the area.

Fantastic experience: Friendly, professional staff. Great vibe - people there to get it done, not socialize, atmosphere is welcoming and motivational.

Positive experience: The jym is beautiful. after out spin class we had delicious wraps and broozy smoothies on their roof deck over looking the ocean.

Negative experience: the way they've handled the pandemic has made it clear that while they think they're "health focused" they're really profit driven

Fantastic experience: Olympix Fitness is a great gym and has been a wonderful addition to the neighborhood. It is filled with professional staff, challenging & interesting classes, state of art equipment and fun diverse membership. The space is a beautiful mix of medal, concrete and reclaimed wood. I’ve lost 25 pounds since joining Olympix Fitness and reduced risk of injury. Come join me to get fit in 3019.

Fantastic experience: Olmpix is a great place to work out. Well designed, equipped and maintained, and a very friendly atmosphere. Also much less crowded than the big chain gyms.

Fantastic experience: Before Olympix, Belmont Shore was in desperate need of a local gym that we could ride our bikes to. Then, the most beautiful gym you've ever seen in your life was built. Olympix takes advantage of its beautiful location with multiple outdoor training areas and beachfront views. It has something for everyone. My mom joined shortly after I did and goes to all of the different classes before work each morning. She loves all the options and raves about all the instructors. I usually go during the peak hour, yet I've never minded it. Everyone is courteous about letting you get the equipment and space you need. It's an inviting space for all levels of experience. As a professional athlete, I asked to get set up with a trainer for a couple sessions to check my form after a long break from strength training. I was paired with Holly and never looked back. There is no doubt in my mind that training with her is the best decision I ever made for my athletic career, physical health, and mental health. With the right guidance, the gym is an empowering experience. I came to Holly with a grocery list of imbalances, mobility issues, and personal goals. I will be forever amazed at what we've achieved together. The obvious results are the strength I've gained. The less obvious is the improved way my body feels and moves thanks to her emphasis on mobility first. She allows me to give feedback and make requests. She's a perfectionist, yet we're laughing for the entirety of each training session. I'm a better athlete (and probably person) because of her. Thanks Olympix!

Fantastic experience: I love this gym, I know it’s pricey but they have so much good equipment that seems to always be working and they have a nice clean facility with friendly people. The place is like a gym and a spa in one. The eucalyptus towels sort of sold me lol I love that it doesn’t smell like a gym and it they have gatherings for members to get to know each other. The classes they have are awesome as well and they have knowledgeable trainers.

Negative experience: Feels like South Coast Plaza..in Long Beach! Save your money and hit the bike/walking path or the beach which is afterall just out front. Classes are definitely subpar.. Fox News is their news of choice.. they can't even get that right. Your 100 plus dollars will at least pay for some nice scented towels

Fantastic experience: This gym is amazing and I highly recommend it. The location is great and the group classes are also amazing. I also signed up for personal training sessions with Victor A and he completely changed the way I think about fitness and developing the body. I plan on staying at this gym as long as I live in LB.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been training at Olympix with a personal trainer (Julie S.) for 6 months and have made incredible progress. After 5 orthopedic surgeries (at least one on each limb) I realized that I needed to change what I was doing for exercise. During my first session with Julie we discussed my medical issues and goals and she evaluated my mobility. I was apprehensive to train because I hadn’t been able to do much in over a year. I wasn’t even sure if I should train any more because I kept getting hurt. For example, one of the surgeries was on my hip and whenever I did any squats with just my body weight I would have a several week setback from pain. Julie focused on my mobility from the start and I began to trust her. That trust ended up being well deserved. I am now doing front squats, back squats, and goblet squats with heavy weights and NO pain. Much of our work is with kettlebells and involves functional movements. I am also now able to deadlift without back pain for the first time. I am consistently lifting heavier in all areas with no pain. I am so thankful. My wife trains with Garrett and she has also made great progress. I train with him as well when Julie is out of town or our schedules conflict. Garrett and Julie have similar training styles and I always know I’ll get a great workout while avoiding injuries. Both trainers are constantly getting new certifications and taking courses to improve their skills as trainers. We couldn’t be happier. We truly appreciate Julie and Garrett.

Fantastic experience: The best gym that I have ever had a membership to. I absolutely love it. Great environment, and everybody that comes here comes to work out. Very little of the gym social aspect that is present in other gyms that I have been a member of. Great classes as well

Fantastic experience: This is a great place with great equipment and great trainers. Ask to work with Garrett Schumacher. He is very knowledgeable and will develop the best workouts with and for you. And he pushes you to keep improving. Also being across from the beach does not hurt the experience. Try yoga on the third story rooftop on a sunny Southern California day and it will change your outlook on life!

Fantastic experience: Joined this gym after looking at a few others in the Long Beach area. The facility is excellent; plenty of cardio machines including the standard treadmills, plus others like Jacob's ladder, ellipticals, and self-powered curve treadmills from Woodway (the best!). Great traditional free weights area with several different specialty grip bars, performance training area with power racks and monkey bars, full set of kettlebells from 4kg all the way to the 48kg monsters. Outdoor area with turf and CrossFit rigs, sleds, farmer's carry bars, battle ropes, and more. Fantastic staff. Roman, Tawni and Adam are the best! Certainly not the cheapest gym in LB, but you get what you pay for here, and in a really great way.

Fantastic experience: Beautiful brand new gym with an ocean view and great equipment! The classes are my favorite part. Lots of variety and very skilled and knowledgeable instructors and trainers. My small group training trainer's name was Julie and she was great at finding the right exercises that were appropriate for everyone in our group regardless of age or fitness level. There are many options available for personal training schedules and group sizes (or individual training) to work with your busy schedule.

Fantastic experience: What a fantastic gym! With State of the at equipment, clean and upscale facilities, and really friendly and knowledgeable staff, there is very little not to love about the gym. I had three gym memberships that added up to nearly $250 a month, so leaving those gyms and joining Olimpix at $115 per month was a great deal. The only downside is that this gym has only one location, so if you travel a lot, you might find it inconvenient. My solution for that was to join Planet Fitness as a back up gym for when I travel, as it is very inexpensive.

Fantastic experience: Fantastic Upscale Gym. What an upgrade for Long Beach. Clean, excellent variety of machines and free weights. Amazing Trainers including mine. Holly K. is fantastic. For those who enjoy outdoor training they have a rooftop training/Yoga Deck with ocean views and a side training area with smurf turf. If you want to get in shape but do not want to work out in a dank gym.. Upgrade to Olympix Fitness. You will be glad you did. AAA+++

Fantastic experience: I just signed up at this gym recently after being a member at anytime fitness. I am paying double the amount but it is so Worth it!! I'm in love with this gym and when you love a gym you love going more! I can't wait to go back for my second workout today!

Fantastic experience: Olympix is the best. Its a high level, first class boutique gym with access to every piece of equipment that is out there! Their instructors and personal trainers are top notch! Julie is the real deal when it comes to personal training. Great listener, creative with workouts and very encouraging. She will help you with technique to make sure youre getting it right! This has been a great experience for me to learn to use kettle bells safely (something that I avoided for fear of injury from doing it wrong) and exercises that will make me a stronger more balanced runner!

Fantastic experience: Ricardo Rodriquez, my gifted trainer, is one of the most attentive indviduals I have ever known, focusing one hundred per cent of his attention on my every movement in order to ensure my effective recovery. His devotion to and breadth of knowledge about all things health related, from strength-building movements, to diet, to general wellness, is staggering. I am fortunate to know him.

Fantastic experience: This beautiful gym was built in my neighborhood I had no reason Not to join. I was hesitant at first because of the price but quickly realized the value. The convenience, the equipment, the classes, the instructors and the roof top!! Oh and my favorite the eucalyptus towels!!! I am happy to say I'm investing in my health and finally doing something for myself. My husband and are both members and love working out together!!

Fantastic experience: Olympix is the best thing that has come to Long Beach! The moment I stepped foot in the gym for a tour , I was hooked! The vibe was so positive and the people are all so nice! I was hesitant to join a gym because I don't like gym vibes , if you know what I mean! But, olympix is classy and extremely affordable! The bathrooms are amazing :). Like a spa resort ! The classes are no joke! If you're serious about fitness, this is your place! I just want to hang out all day! If I could give Olympix 10 stars I would !!

Fantastic experience: Great gym and staff (AWESOME staff!)...it's such a pleasure to workout at Olympix. I've been a regular at the gym for 26 years and it was always just a place to exercise. The atmosphere at Olympix gives me an extra boost because the owners and staff obviously take pride in the business. It's totally worth the extra money for the membership to enjoy the experience so much that I use the facilities more than I would typically.

Fantastic experience: I couldn't be happier with switching my gym membership over to Olympix. It is a super modern gym with a large variety of top notch equipment, classes and trainers. The roof top area is my favorite spot to finish up my workouts. The dressing rooms / showers are clean, well maintained, and even include a STEAM ROOM! They also have a coffee shop with all kinds of healthy snacks and juices. Going to Olympix is more of a spa experience to me....WELL DONE GUYS!
