Fantastic experience: The Belmont Athletic Club and its staff are fantastic! Jeff and Nicole are very experienced owners and know what they are doing to provide a first class athletic club. An athletic club is so much different than a gym! Gyms are a dime a dozen while athletic clubs are diamonds! The Belmont Athletic Club definitely classifies as a diamond!! The multiple classes, friendly atmosphere, modern equipment, friendly members, location, and cleanliness make the Belmont a one of a kind!! I am so glad I found the Belmont Athletic Club and I highly recommend it for an excellent work out and social experience!!

Fantastic experience: The. Belmont is more than an amazing gym, it’s also a sense of community where you know your instructors and trainers by name and where you feel like you are part of the family. The facilities are spotless. The equipment amazing. And the people who work there, especially Nicole (manager), Jade (personal trainer) and Tyler (best yoga instructor in the world) are simply the best.

Our 28 year old grandson who is a paddler and was a rower at Stanford loves the Belmont as does his 26 year old sister who has been a member for several years. This gym is so good that I almost didn’t want to tell anyone about it—I wanted it all to myself! The Belmont has everything you could ask for in a gym: a great selection of equipment, clean and spacious facilities, and a welcoming community vibe that’s hard to find elsewhere. Fantastic experience: I love this gym. I go here like 6 times a week. I absolutely love the sauna, steam room, and hot tub. They even provide some free toiletries like deodorant and shaving cream. I've never actually used the onsite massage therapist, but I love that one is available if I ever wanted to book an appointment. The monthly fee is worth every penny as long as you utilize all the amenities. I have been a member of several gyms in the area of various quality & price points - from a small independent discount place to a fancy chain double the price of Belmont. Although it is more expensive than places like Planet Fitness, in terms of value, it is by far the best gym in town in my opinion.

Fantastic experience: What an excellent gym and pub! I thoroughly enjoy going into BAC for a quick workout, steam room session, and a hot shower. Afterwards, a solid sammich and beer hit the spot at Murphy’s. The staff are all incredibly friendly; Arlene, Cynthia, Trent, and Rachel make the Belmont Athletic Club an excellent choice, any day of the week. Go Dodgers.

I love that everyone there is there for a purpose (and that’s not to be on their phones)! The staff is super friendly. Men and women have separate saunas, jacuzzis and steam rooms. Nicole, the GM, is always there, ready to help in any way, or just chat ….shes legit the best. I pay for the unlimited classes in the Strength Lab, and it is by far the best investment!! Fantastic experience: I've been coming to the Belmont Athletic Club and Shore Strength Lab for over 3 years. Over my time working out here, I've had the opportunity to be trained by some fantastic coaches. The SSL coaches have all been really helpful and have helped me get into the best shape of my life. All of the staff, Nicole the manager, and others who use the gym have been really nice. No egos or issues here, just people who all want to get better than they were yesterday.

Fantastic experience: The Belmont Athletic Club is a fantastic gym! There are an enormous variety of options here for everyone! First of all, the club is huge inside! It’s clean, attractive and the environment is very friendly and supportive! What I enjoy most are the classes! My favorite instructors are Marita and Scott. Two of the classes I take with Marita are Stretch and Relax as well as her PiYo class. Both are excellent classes! PiYo is where you come to voluntarily be “murdered”! It’s an incredible workout! She is an amazing instructor! With Scott, I take Cardio N Sculpt as well as Candlelight Yoga. Also excellent classes! Scott is very positive, upbeat and inspirational! Whenever I see new members, I always pass along my recommendations! Another positive point about the club is they listen! I spoke to Nicole, one of the managers of the club. I expressed an interest in adding another class for Scott to teach. She made it happen and now we have the Candlelight Yoga class, the most peaceful and strengthening Yoga class you’ll ever take! Overall, it’s a great place to get your workout on! Both instructors and members alike, have been here for years! That says everything right there!

Fantastic experience: The Belmont Club is an amazing facility. Gym has a wide variety of equipment, full locker room, very very clean, and staff is super friendly. 10/10 recommend. Have a variety of classes and a nice CrossFit style gym area. Discounts at the juice bar and Murphys are huge perks. Murphys best lunch on 2nd cheap, great sandwiches, and large portions for great price. Shout out Murphys crew!

Fantastic experience: The Belmont shore athletic club has been my favorite gym so far in Long Beach! The best part is that it’s not too crowded and it’s clean. I got a tour of here and was immediately tempted to get the pass. I don’t regret it! Although I hope they don’t get too crowded I still want people to know what a good gym this is!

She changes up my workout, sent me a series of stretches to do at home, and responds to my occasional text. Give this place a try!

Fantastic experience: I’ve been going to the Belmont athletic club for a few years now, I’ve had a few different gym memberships in the past but the Belmont is by far the best gym experience I’ve had, the entire staff is super cool and friendly especially Gabe, the gym’s equipment is super nice and is always clean, the gym never gets to crowded and is always a judgment free workout space.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been going to this gym for about three years and I absolutely love it. The staff is super friendly, helpful, etc. and makes you feel like part of the Belmont community. I do weights, cardio, a little HIIT, racquetball and they have more than enough equipment. It’s pretty amazing what they’ve done with the space, it works well and rarely feels crowded. Love that there’s a sauna, steam, and spa too. Nice neighborly members. Would definitely recommend.

And I can't say enough about Nicole! She's known my name since the beginning and welcomes me like an old friend. She has gone out of her way to not only make me feel important, but to help me out. Working out, especially cardio, can be tough, but I always look forward to going to the Belmont Athletic Club.

I had a unique situation where I was only in town every other month, and the membership team was exceedingly flexible in working to find a plan for me. It is also the best value for your money because of all the pluses you get with membership For over forty years The Belmont has provided a fully comprehensive personal workout facility available from the early mornings to the late evening. The changing area always has clean showers with lockable-lockers and towels. The included steam room, sauna and Jacuzzi are always Hot. Not just warm. Throughout my years, The Belmont facility, including all the different areas and rooms, have always been well maintained All the equipment and machines you need to match your desired workout are clean and ready to go. Plus more group classes than you can schedule in your week. You can spin, yoga, dance,Pilates and more until you have reached your desired level of calm and peace with the world. Plus massage service is available if you need more stress and pain focus with less personal effort. Plus, and almost too good to be true: a world class pub, right over your head. From the club to the pub, is just through one door. The best sandwiches on Second Street. All the sports du jour showing on as many T.V.’s as you can possibly watch. Fantastic experience: I've been coming here since I moved to the area three years ago. It's my "third place". I love that I get a warm welcome when I arrive, the gym is always clean, there's never any creepy behavior, I feel safe, and can get my swole on in peace. The locker rooms have free locking lockers which is perfect, clean showers, nice spa. They have all the equipment I can think of and there's never a line for the squat rack like literally every other gym I've been to. I've done a lot of the classes including the strength lab and all have been fun and well taught. It's affordable, clean, well equipped, and has a good vibe. What more could you ask for. All of the employees are professional and friendly, especially Nicole! She's always there working hard, smiling. She should get a raise!

Fantastic experience: LOVE the Belmont Athletic Club. The staff is warm and courteous. The equipment is clean and well cared for - and there is plenty of it. This really is a family club. Positive experience: Ok! My honest review of this gym! I’ve only been a member of equinox so maybe that’s why I find my rating to be lower. I’m comparing it to a luxury gym but then again I know I can’t! Pros! - the price! You can’t beat it - 98.9% of the time I go in to work out all the equipment and machines I want to use are available! This was not the case at equinox. So there’s that. - good amount of space for you to work out and stretch! I love that you can always find a solo area for yourself! - the staff are super nice! Like beyond! Good vibes all around! - the jacuzzi is a plus and I’m obsessed with the steam room. Which brings me to my the cons! Cons - steam room is right underneath the basketball court. It’s extremely loud in there. It’s not relaxing at all! Kinda jarring and it kills the mood. The design of that area is awful. But I get past that because like I said I love steam rooms - I highly dislike the smell of whatever cleaner they use in the shower and in the front. It straight up smells like sulfur or sewerage water mixed with chlorine - the machines and equipment could be cleaner. It looks like they have NEVER been cleaned. So if that’s important you will not like this place. - when I signed up to this gym they offered me two free training sessions. Which I never received. I was looking forward to that because I was definitely considering hiring a trainer. One trainer did contact me but her schedule was much later. I don’t work out in the evenings. And then nothing!

I signed up for the Shore Strength Lab last fall and feel incredible. The trainers are very knowledgeable and attentive. The small group classes make me feel like I'm getting a personal training session. I highly recommend the Belmont!

Fantastic experience: Every gym has weights, machines etc. What makes the Belmont special is the staff. Just good people that I enjoy interacting with when I come for a workout.

Negative experience: My husband and I went to try out the gym for one day, we were even willing to pay for a day pass. They said we weren’t allowed to go in without knowing a member there. This was super frustrating especially since we called earlier and they said we could come in for one day if we were new. I’m not really sure how they have members if you aren’t allowed to try out the gym. The girl at the front desk didn’t give us any other options at all?

Throughout those years, I’ve also belonged to Golds, 24 hour, and LA Fitness but never left The Belmont because it’s the best. I’ve seen it go through many changes but one thing that never changes is the sense of community. I love that people are there to exercise first and socialize second rather than a place to see and be seen. There are super early classes and a lovely locker room with showers and hairdryers which made it perfect for getting my workout in and to work on time. They also have late morning classes for after you drop the kids off. The weight machines are new and kept is top condition. It always feels clean and welcoming and I’m never leaving. Fantastic experience: The Belmont Athletic Club feels like home. It has a boutique feel while remaining affordable and large. The staff are welcoming, the gym is tidy and it's never too crowded. I love relaxing in the women's sauna, steam room and hot tub after a work out with just a towel. They also offer group personal training through Strength Shore Lab which is a killer workout.

Fantastic experience: Ive been coming here ever since I got back into competitive pickle ball and have seen some real results. My favorite machine is the stair master. I have lost 5 pounds within weeks and My pickle ball playing has never been better.

Fantastic experience: My absolute favorite gym. Friendly staff, very clean equipment and floors, nice cozy locker room with a sauna and jacuzzi. This has been my spot for years now, love going here especially early morning or later evening when there's almost no one here. Since the remodel, I've been able to get a lot more free weight work in which is what I like most. I also love being able to go up to Murphy's after a good workout to get a beer at one of the best spots on 2nd St. Highly recommend this gym!!!

Fantastic experience: I am thoroughly enjoying the experience of The Belmont Athletic Club, my only regret is that I did not join sooner. I am enjoying the classes and the cardio room and look forward to learning the machines with my remaining session with Tony to learn the machines. I would also like to take this opportunity to compliment the club’s owners and staff on the maintanence. Whether it’s a toilet, the jacuzzi in the women’s locker room or even after the rain storm and subsequent leaks, you are on it! The latter was amazing because I was there on Saturday w/ the roof/ ceiling outside the aerobics room dripping into buckets. On Sunday when I came back, it was all repaired and painted. I was totally impressed!

Fantastic experience: I feel so spoiled every time i come here. Everything is always clean, smells good, and the equipment is in excellent condition. One of the best things here is a half court basketball court that gives me a great workout and practice. My favorite thing here though is the spa treatment. Delicious cucumber water at my disposal in the locker room, fresh towels any time you want, with a jacuzzi, steam room and a sauna, it's all heavenly. So glad to be a member at this awesome club! :-)

Negative experience: Called just to ask how much dues were. Mentioned my old club in downtown Long Beach (24 hour Fitness) had just closed. The lady who answered the phone started giggling and then talking in a way reminiscent of Frank Zappa's Valley Girl. Like gag me with a SPOON! Choke with with a fork! If yer, like totally, a val (and like, from a better part of Encino), this club just might be fer yoo (although a good 50 miles from Encino). Fer sher fer sher! But to me ther just a bunch of boo foos. (Never did find out how much the dues were. Maybe they'll tell you. The wouldn't me). But this club, I'm sher!
