Fantastic experience: I have been with Theodora for the last 2 1/2 years. Previously I have eaten healthy, worked out, and used personal trainers on and off but having met Theodora, she has transformed my life. At the age of 35 , I am the fittest, healthiest and strongest I have ever been! She has introduced me to a lifestyle of fitness that a very small percent of American woman population experience. She has opened my eyes to not fearing weight training and helped build my endurance. Due to my transformation and love for her skills, many of my friends have been transformed into the best shape of their lives because of her as well. I highly recommend this gym and the trainer.
Fantastic experience: In the six months since I began working out at Make Your Body, I have seen amazing changes ... not only in my body, but also in my health, my energy, and my stamina. I decided to start working out because I could feel myself, in my 50s, losing energy and stamina. I wanted to see healthy blood pressure and blood sugar levels. I wanted my clothes to look better on me. I wanted to climb stairs without huffing and puffing. I never knew strength training could help me reach these goals, but it has. Make Your Body is cozy, well-equipped, private, and located near street parking and the Belmont bus. You work out with no distractions, no waits to use machines or weights, and no audience. I recommend it without hesitation.
Fantastic experience: Place is clean, upbeat and kid friendly. Teddy, the fitness trainer, is amazing! Three friends go there all the time. We have a baby & can't get there as much-we miss you Teddy!
Fantastic experience: I have been going to Make Your Body for a year and a half now. teddy is great and works with your schedule to make it as convenient as possible? I love that you get a customized session but she pairs you up to make it more affordable! I love the other women that go to her...we all have our own challenges and are supportive with one another. I go twice a week and feel so much stronger with each session....I look forward to my time there....a very good investment in myself!!! Try one session and you will feel a difference and be hooked!,
Fantastic experience: I have been training with Teddy for 3 weeks only and I have noticed improved posture, and better skin! Teddy is dedicated to her craft and her clients. She is my “Nudge” : emails and texts me to remind me to eat more protein and water. She treats the whole person! We all have different goals and levels of skill and abilities, and she uses her knowledge of medicine and strength training to make each of us strong inside and out. When she met me, she told me, 80% of your problem is diet. So I got more than I bargained for! She is my nutritionist, my strength trainer, my life coach, all wrapped up in one smart, sweet woman!! She earns every penny…never met such a contentious and dedicated expert!!! Had trainers before, but this one, is truly one of a kind!!

Fantastic experience: I have worked out on and off for years but never with a personal trainer. I have been with Teddy for over a year now and couldn't be happier with the results! Teddy is extremely dedicated and knowledgable. She coaches you not only in regards to your workout but nutrition as well. I use to get bored with my routines but with Teddy each workout is different. She keeps an eye on your form and also explains where each movement targets and what you should be feeling while doing the movement. Working out use to be a chore but Teddy makes it fun! You feel like you're hanging out with a friend and before you know it your workout is over and you can pat yourself on the back for a job well done! I highly recommend Make Your Body. You will see and feel the results. So happy I found Make Your Body and Teddy!!

Fantastic experience: I have been working out with Teddy since January 2015. I have never lifted weights before and had a common misconception that lifting weights will make me too bulky. Teddy literally changed my life. She is extremely knowledgable about a human body and teaches you to work out and eat the right way. Since January, working out with Teddy and following a healthy diet (not starving!), I lost 30 pounds. I feel much better, less tired and have increased mobility. Teddy also taught me how to work out on my own. I am not embarrassed to lift weights at the gym. I highly recommend Teddy and Makeyourbody gym!
Fantastic experience: I have been going to Dora for 4 weeks now and I already see great improvement. It has been over 4 years since my last work out, so I was in bad shape. I got easily winded playing with my children. I have never had a personal trainer before, but am very happy to have been referred to Dora. A good friend said time spent with Dora was life changing for her! She could not have been more correct. After 1 session Dora identified all of areas of weakness. Diet being the big one. I barely survived my first workout. So, before my second work out she sent me a suggested meal plan. She understands we are creatures of habit so she tailored a meal plan to fit my life style. It worked perfectly. The second workout I ate her suggested meal, and made it through the entire session. I can feel myself getting stronger with each workout. Dora is a blessing, and a life changer!!!!!! Happy to have been referred to her.

Fantastic experience: 'This is a post from the owner': Years of experience, knowledge, & successes combined with the heartfelt desire to better people’s quality of life, led to the genesis of MakeYourBody - a unique specialized training studio that is private & attentive. Our honor is our face. Our 5 stars are authentic & earned. The reason for reviews not being recent is because clients who have been with us for many years wrote their legit reviews within months of their start. 11 years later we are still here & so are they. As the owner, I always speak to new clients myself. I take great time to learn about them & explain principles of weight training, which is particularly important for women & special populations. I remember speaking to young vibrant Nathalie. She was athletic & had fallen out of her groove. Athletic people are usually endurance trained where they are actively moving & work up sweats. Proper weight training is repetitive & controlled with heavy weights. It’s a change from what many endurance trained people are used to & some may find it too ‘slow’. Note that any change in action will provide a physical change, however proper weight training targets for symmetry, balance & correction. A lot of women, including Nathalie, prefer a female trainer. My role as owner changes with the growth of the business as well as circumstance. I told Nathalie I had a very good trainer Charles, a power lifter, who was not intimidating. He knows his weight training stuff. It took me some time to find him. I asked that she give him a chance for one session, & if she didn’t feel comfortable or didn’t like anything, I’d give her the session free & do what I could. I told her to call me anytime. I didn’t receive any communication. She didn’t ask for her money back from her 1st session, & bought a 6 session package. After that, she bought 6 more sessions & never contacted me about anything. After reading the review, I called Charles & shared what Nathalie said she felt. He explained that he was focusing on improving her form & pace. Whatever she may have been feeling, she sadly did not communicate. I always let people know that they can call me any time. I reached out to Nathalie personally to hear what she felt. If the owner cares, they should want to understand what that person is feeling & why. I asked why she felt she had a bait & switch since I asked her to try a session with Charles & told her that if she didn’t like it, I’d give her the session free & find another option for her. She admitted that she probably should’ve communicated better. When I asked her about Charles, she said the same: that she should’ve communicated better. Communication is a personal thing for all of us & can be hard. It’s important to me that if someone invests their hard earned money into a service from my business, they should get it. I offered to go to her gym in uptown, where she said she moved & I said I’d pay for my own guest pass so I could give her a few sessions free. She wanted to think about it. I told her I’d follow up in a week which I did. I texted her & have not received a response to my offer. An image of the text is attached. I blocked out identifiers of her number for her safety & privacy. I asked Charles if he had any communication at all from Nathalie as to why she left. He sent me a text where she stated that she wouldn’t be coming any longer because she was moving, but that she learned a lot & felt good about moving on her own. An image of the text is attached. I’d like to note that during our conversation, Nathalie commented that she was suspicious of any place that had all 5-star reviews. This is an important statement. Sadly fake reviews are a marketing reality that some businesses use. We do not. We have worked hard to earn those “thank you’s” over many years. Our reviews, clients & integrity are authentic & long term. We are here to help.
Positive experience: I was debating whether or not to write a review, but I noticed there are no recent reviews so I decided to shed some light on my recent experience. After calling to find out more about being a new client for summer 2020, I spoke on the phone with the owner for almost an hour about her technique, her passions, the gym, what to expect, etc. I signed up for 6 weeks and was assured that once the gym opens up I could come in. I was recommended to take 2 sessions per week to see progress. I was a client for 12 sessions and worked with Charles who was nice and always on time. Regardless, this was the first red flag as the owner did not make it clear that I would work with someone else, especially since the bulk of her conversation was focused on assuring me that she was prepared to help me thrive as a “female athlete”. Anyway, the first 6 sessions were extremely easy for my fitness level (dancer, boxer, avid weight lifter) and I was not told this would be my experience. I signed up for an additional 6 sessions to notice a difference in the program but there was none. It was not customized, information was not shared, and it was very bare bones. For example, my first 6 weeks were on a Pilates ball with light hand weights. This was the second red flag for me since I didn’t feel like a client, but just a source of revenue. Finally, for my last session, it was obvious that he didn’t even know it was my last paid session. I was informed prior and agreed to a “shared” session, and only after the fact was told that I would get credit to sign up for my next series. I didn’t. Since then I have been training at FFC lake view and my trainer (Ari) has been incredible—focused on my skill level, interests, and overall goals, I have seen so much more progress in 12 sessions with him than at this gym. I have been pushed to learn how to use the gym on my own and not rely on a trainer. I am sure this gym has benefits for some people, perhaps with less experience in fitness. However, I do feel like my sign up was a bait and switch as I never met the owner after that initial call, my training was not customized to me as an individual, and there was an overall lack of awareness for communication and needs. Fantastic experience: For nearly 3 years I have been a client at MYB. Under the guidance of the trainers, I have seen significant improvement in my strength, posture and flexibility. I very much appreciate Teddy and the trainers’ approach - focusing on form and technique. The weight training is challenging and fun. Her friendly and warm personality really makes it a pleasure to work with her. I have done both private and semi-private classes and appreciate the flexibility within a tight, busy schedule. The private studio is comfortable and clean with a variety of equipment. The trainers are professional and knowledgeable, creating a safe environment to challenge yourself. At 50 years old, I am in the best shape of my life!
Fantastic experience: By far the best investment I've made in the last couple of years. It's not your typical Bootcamp class where they give you WODs without teaching you proper form. The trainers here will teach you the basics and the proper form for each movement, and focus on proper form to prevent injury and consistently fix/correct it until your body is used to it. I love how Teddy and Joe dedicate themselves to ensure that you just don't lose weight, get stronger or whatever your goal is but how they also help you achieve and sustain a healthy lifestyle. My goal was to get stronger. I’m not overweight but had been feeling tired, unmotivated and just blah physically. After just a few weeks I not only feel stronger but I look stronger too! With this has come a healthy self-esteem boost. I stand a little taller. I’m happier and more self-confident. It’s the best thing I’ve done for myself in years. Thank you Teddy and Joe!!
Fantastic experience: This is a wonderful no frills private gym! Teddy/female owns the gym and she and her trained instructors teach weight training that is slow, methodical and in a way that avoids injuries (Charles is my trainer). They help neglected populations like myself who have specific physical challenges and need specialized instruction, as well as the rest with great patience and compassion. They will take their time with you and not rush through a routine. Its not just the money with these people but about truly getting strong and healthy with quality training.
Fantastic experience: I absolutely love Make Your Body. I decided to make an investment in my health a little over a month ago, and am so happy I chose Make Your Body. I have tried the group workout classes, going to the gym by myself, and nothing has stuck. But I find myself wanting to go to my training sessions now instead of dreading them. I love how I have the option to train one-on-one or with another person, which saves us both some money. The two-on-one sessions still feel like you are being trained one-on-one which I LOVE. Teddy, the owner, and Ziyad, trainer, are both incredible. They focus on proper form and your goals. I already see and feel a difference in my body mentally and physically in such a short time. I highly recommend Teddy, Ziyad, and the MakeYourBody family.
Fantastic experience: I have been coming to Make Your Body for over a year. It is an excellent place for personal training. Teddy, the owner, is a great trainer with tons of experience and she has very high standards so all of the trainers she hires are also outstanding. Over the past year I have gained strength, gotten more toned, and I have learned proper technique and form. I like the option of training individually or with another person as a way to save a little bit of money. Make Your Body is an important part of my life to help keep me healthy and fit and I plan to continue to go for the foreseeable future!
Fantastic experience: What really stands out for me is the way Teddy trains you. There is never discomfort or pain during or after a routine (I've only experienced this once with another trainer at a local gym, but nonetheless, I remember this experience well and not in a good light). She figures out what works for you vs. what doesn't, what's comfortable vs. what's not. That's not to say that exercises are a breeze, because none of them are, and quite frankly, a lot of them are very challenging. Teddy just genuinely cares to show you and explain why you should be doing them in the first place and what their benefits are. And she'll make damn sure that you are doing things correctly for optimal achievement. That's usually not something you'll get. It's only been over a month for me, but I'm already seeing results in my stamina and general well being. I think that "no pain, no gain" is really not true at all when it comes to Teddy. Nope, you won't feel pain, but you will gain a lot if you stick with her. Oh, she'll also email you and text you any tips she thinks of for you. Or simply to send you words of encouragement. Edited to account for progress two years later (below) November 2018: I owe Teddy a lot. Along with phenomenal results in strength and physique, I have experienced enormous positive changes in my lifestyle overall. I have a lot more energy, my balance is wonderful, and I have gained and developed muscle to the extent I never truly expected or thought I could. I am a very healthy size 12 whereas I was a very unhealthy 16 before I started training with Teddy. I never really stuck with any fitness routine before, but here I am training with Teddy two years later, and in the best shape of my life. She cares a lot and wants you to be truly able to make your own body. I'm proud to call myself a power lifter and I owe all that to Teddy and her expertise. Go to her, she cares more than you'll ever get elsewhere.
Fantastic experience: I have been working with the owner, Theodora ("Teddy") Tsatsos, for about two months now, and I am really kicking myself for not having begun to do so long ago. I have been a gym-goer for many years, but have never really experienced significant, real progress, nor have I been confident in the efficacy of my efforts, until I started weight training with Teddy. I am still a relative newcomer but already I feel stronger and more hopeful for continued and enhanced strength and stamina in the future. I have been in Occupational Therapy on one occasion, and Physical Therapy twice (for different issues), and she demonstrates knowledge of anatomy and physiology comparable to the therapists I have known - and he is more communicative than the OT and one of the two PTs in my experience. She explains things in ways that are clear, concise, and understandable. As you may have gathered, i am slightly disabled due to an injury and surgical repair. She has been a wonder in working around my impaired range-of-motion to the extent necessary, and in minimizing the impairment to the extent possible. I cannot recommend her highly enough.
Fantastic experience: Teddy (Theodora) is an amazing personal trainer. She spends a lot of time focusing on form and making sure you are doing each exercise correctly! Each workout is challenging and enjoyable. She makes it fun. I've been going to Make Your Body for the last month and have already seen results on the scale and in my clothes. I also feel better. This isn't your typical Personal Training you'll get at the gym. Teddy prides herself on proper technique and is extremely knowledgeable!! Teddy is a pro!! I'm so happy I found her. Fantastic experience: Teddy spends time to make sure you do the exercises correctly to get the most of your workout and prevent injury. I appreciate this attention to detail as I have learned that even the slightest change, makes a huge difference in what muscle I am trying to target. She quickly picked up on my muscle imbalances and helps increase my awareness to help empower me to correct on my own. Every workout is challenging and I always look forward to the next session!

Fantastic experience: I have been working with Teddy at Make Your Body for nearly a year now and I cannot believe the difference in my strength and stamina during this time. Our routine changes constantly, and Teddy pays particular attention to “troublesome” areas that may need more attention. Her continual followup and concern for her clients is outstanding.
Fantastic experience: I have been working out with Teddy for a little over 3 months and within the first month I saw changes already! I noticed my arms were more defined and my legs were more defined and I could even see abs! And after 3 months I'm amazed by the increase in my strength as well as the change in my entire body! I feel healthier, I fell stronger and I look toned and my clothes fit comfortably again! Teddy is awesome! She really listens and is not only kind and friendly but she also teaches you what to eat/drink and what not to eat/drink.
