Avolve Fitness - Downers Grove

Fantastic experience: Great gym, too bad it shut down. I’ve pooped, cried, threw up, and met great people through this gym. It was small, neat, and had great equipment. Everyone there was kind a friendly. Quite upsetting to show up and see that it shut down. I wanted to see everyone once more. There was this one guy who showed up everyday and could bench well over 225. He was friendly, and made the gym feel safe. I hope he does well. The staff was friendly and the gym was judgement free. I’m going to miss this gym, but off to another.

Fantastic experience: Good mix of free weights and machines in bright, airy facility. Nice variety of classes offered at a range of times during the week.

Negative experience: If I could give this place a 0 star I would I went to go work out today at the Buffalo Grove location and it was gone only after 2 days after my last work out, they said nothing to the members just closed it down with no kind of warning or notice at all I got to say is what a nasty gym they dont care about members if the other location s are open I hope they close down I would stay away from this place because they shouldn't be in business

For $25 a month the club offers 24 hour access, tanning and multiple Locations In the area, which I find extremely helpful. Overall, the best club I’ve been apart of and have recommended to all my friends and family.

Negative experience: Not sure why this gym has charged me for over 4 months of inactivity, after I was told by a person at the front desk that my membership was cancelled. I was lied to, cancelling memberships is extremely difficult as stated in other reviews. I wish I read those concerning reviews before bringing my business to this gym. I would recommend taking a look at LA fitness, a gym that is in a similar location with a more reliable customer service program.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been to many gyms , and by far this is the greatest gym!

Positive experience: For $25 and cancel anytime with tanning included it's great. Chill environment, a LOT of highschoolers though. They only have 1 squat rack and the women's locker room smells like sewage consistently. They do attempt to cover the smell with lots of air freshener. That being said. I still pay to go here, for the average work out person it's great. If you're in to body building or power lifting, you will find they don't have everything you need.

Fantastic experience: Workout here 4-5 times a week. Perfect size for people who are serious about working out, get in and do what you gotta do. And since the whole covid thing they’ve really taken the extra steps to ensure guest health and safety. If you’re serious about your fitness you better start Fit’n’ess in your schedule!

Fantastic experience: I’ve been a member at this gym since it opened. The location is great, affordable membership, and friendly staff. Dan, Karissa, Patricia, and Ron are all always friendly and welcoming. They all work to make sure that the place is in the best shape and every is approachable. Ron has been a personal trainer there since the gym opened. The culture is not intimidating and there is a nice variety of equipment. During peak times there is enough equipment that even though it’s busy you should not have to wait to use anything.

Fantastic experience: It's a clean and quiet gym which really allows me to focus on what matters. The staff and other guests are also very respectful and are good about maintaining the place. The manager, Chris, also seems to really care about not only keeping a nice gym but his guests as well. Every now and then I see him training others and I can tell he really cares about people's health and goals.

Fantastic experience: Great variety of cardio and weight training equipment. Properly cleaned and following covid restrictions. Never overcrowded. I would recommend to anyone looking to improve their fitness.

Negative experience: I informed the manager weeks ago that I had moved out of state. Just checked my online banking and I've been charged for another month. I've been charged for a total of 2 months and I've never even set foot in this gym. The manager is some airhead that obviously doesn't know how to do her job. If this isn't resolved promptly I will dispute the transaction with my bank and file a complaint with The Better Business Bureau.

Negative experience: Avolve bought out the previous gym I was a member of and then raised the rates from 10 dollars a month to 40. Tried freezing the account but customer service told me I how to go to their main gym to freeze the account when I'm on the other side of town. Tried calling customer service but they literally never picked up.
