Bellingham Athletic Club: Opinions
Fantastic experience: Good the owner is a super nice guy. Ask about the 6 week challenge if you're really looking to lose weight. He's got a great deal that you need to hear about.
Positive experience: BAC is a great gym overall. Their kids club out at their Meridian location is top notch with a very friendly staff. Their swimming program is great for the kids! Their Meridian equipment and facility is outdated, but it is all there and rarely too full to have to wait for a machine.
Fantastic experience: I like this gym, it's a little old and dated but the staff are great and it comes with free child care if you've got the family package.
Fantastic experience: Really good club felt very welcome there by the staff.
Fantastic experience: Nice and clear out space.
Fantastic experience: No pressure. Just people working on their health.
Positive experience: Nice place so far I only wish there was a swimsuit rule in the locker room hot tub because I don't feel relaxed around naked guys
Fantastic experience: Best place to get a workout
Fantastic experience: Great small gym, not crowded, good equipment, about due for a remodel.
Fantastic experience: Best gym in town. Everything is clean and usually can use every machine.
Negative experience: Equipment is dirty, theres always something "out of order" and left for months unrepaired, hot tub doesn't work (it's hot but no jets), not all staff is respectful and nice as there is one trainer there who acts like she owns the place. She will TELL u she needs that piece of equipment ur working on or the space that you're in for her client....so get off or move! And u would think common courtesy applies to bringing in ur own bluetooth speaker n playing it out loud rather than just wearing headphones. But no......same trainer feels everyone in the gym needs to heat her music out loud on the floor. Rules dont apply to her. The place is expensive and not well kept. Courtesy n respect not always given. Time to find another gym. Sorry.
Fantastic experience: Smaller gym but super nice and has a hot tub in both men's and women's locker rooms plus steam rooms and suana
Negative experience: I really wish zero stars was a possible option on google reviews. I tried the Cordata club had a horrible experience rude, racist, and ill mannered people both working and using the club. I tried this one and the same it is truly sad. I also was told around by others that they try to keep the demographic downtown "white only" this is really upsetting and sad. I have also be told some of the racquet ball players push others around that they do not feel "fit in"
Fantastic experience: Ritzy and local!
Positive experience: We are relatively new and while I appreciate that as far as amenities go, many of the boxes are checked I struggle with being there. The whole facility at Cordata is terribly dated to the point of disrepair and FILTHY! I took my first classes in the studio upstairs and the floors are disgusting, the equipment super old, worn mats and class materials, gooey corners and ledges, a cracked window. The machines, especially the cardio upstairs are grimey. It's baaaad. They need fresh paint, new bits and a crime scene clean STAT! I don't know how long we can stay with it but it has childcare, the people are nice and my son loves the swimming. The downtown location is better, you wouldn't guess that they were two branches of the same club by looking but they don't have childcare. Which at Cordata, by the way, is only open 4 hours on the weekend. Saturday from 8-12 which is a bust. For the substantial difference for a family membership fee to have childcare it is very disappointing there there is hardly anything on the weekend when, ya know, we're together as a family.
Negative experience: I'm not planning on joining. I'm on a fixed income and disabled. I get paid on the third of each month, and when I tried to join because they had a special they weren't willing to charge me two days later on the 3rd rather than the 1st. That's okay, I joined the Y.

Negative experience: I was a member of Bellingham Athletic Club in fall and I also purchased the tanning for $40 to use in the future. I was told that if I paid in full, I would get better deal, so I did. When I asked if the tanning expired, they told me it did not. When I went to use my tans, the manager told me that I have to be a member to use them. I told him that I was told that the tans would not expire. He told me that I had to be a member to use them, and I replied by saying, “It is not in your policy,” which he admitted was true, but continued to say that I cannot use them. I lost $40 because he said so, not because it is policy. I will strongly recommend against Bellingham Athletic Club because they are not responsible and do not follow their policies. If you decide to go there regardless, just know this facts and do not pay the full amount up front so that you can be in control of your money, because their policy may change.
Fantastic experience: BAC is the best deal if you have a family since child care is at no extra cost. NOT crowded at the meridian site and staff is the best. Locker rooms are clean and the people that go there are older and want to work out more than find someone to mate with.
