James Sports Center: Opinions
Fantastic experience: Good locker rooms, and the field and track are great. Still haven't made it to cardio or strength training, but everything else is comfortable and clean
Fantastic experience: I love playing racquetball at this place.
Fantastic experience: Save myself $200 for a diagnosis, parts, labour, and time. Basically looked with professioanl staff to determine the fault code and solutuons. They had all the tools and professional staff to assist. Absolutely recommend using this facility before going to any shop. Always good to look and see before you get had.
Positive experience: It's funnier because I think the other gym on base is an older building but it looks a lot better than this one. When you first walk in you're next to a countertop and the basketball court is on your left and locker rooms and bathrooms are on your right and you have to go without a long hallway to get to the exercise equipment. I was trying to find an employee to inquire about memberships but the counter was empty and there was a sign there saying that their was no one available. I guess Satan will have to stay fat
Fantastic experience: I work out here every chance I get
Negative experience: The functional fitness area needs some work so it can be fully utilized. Having the equipment stored under the rig makes the rig unusable for use. You cant use the pull up bars all the way across. Having a center rig would be much better.
Positive experience: Very decent facility conveniently located a short walking or running distance from lodging. Has just about everything you need.
Positive experience: Can you get a card to go in after hours???
Fantastic experience: Fantastic gym on base, even as a parent, there is a play area inside where you can workout while the kids play in a gated area. There is also a co-ed sauna that is great after a hard workout.
Positive experience: Needs windows
Negative experience: Already
Positive experience: Good small gym. Quiet and clean.
Positive experience: It's not awful for the space that's provided. Has all the equipment someone would need, it's just congested due to the size of the building. The sanitation wipes also don't seem to get refilled frequently.
Positive experience: The friendly staff does a good job keeping things well-maintained. The equipment is satisfactory. The showers have a bad case of flies and some of the shower equipment is old, rusted, or broke, but is otherwise relatively clean and presentable.
Positive experience: Gym has most of your standard equipment and it's in good shape. The building is out dated and the equipment is spread out and hard to find what you're looking for.
Fantastic experience: Awesome, quiet, well run. The weight rooms and aerobic areas are well furnished.
Positive experience: Dingy interior.
Fantastic experience: I love this gym. It doesn't always have the machines you need, but at non-peak hours they've got a good range of everything and the 24 hour access is the best if you live on base.
Positive experience: For the love of God please put some fans in all the rooms to get some moving air.
Positive experience: Pretty nice facility. Little small but nice equipment.
Fantastic experience: It's a good gym.
Fantastic experience: Lots of equipment and different area's for different workouts
Positive experience: Pretty cool gym (probably largest one base), with lots of different yokes for different folks. Like to hoop? Check Would rather lyft? You got it Machines are more if your thing? Bingo They even have 2 racket ball courts, cardio rooms and a play area for the kiddos. It was seamless to get set up with an ID when I first got there. Staff is very friendly and willing to answer any gym related question you might have. As far as overall cleanliness, they could do a better job, especially in the locker room. The water fountains have seen some better days too. Other than that, solid gym. Highly recommend, especially during these cold months.
Fantastic experience: Great workout with minimal attendance...
Fantastic experience: Excellent
Positive experience: Normal installation gym. Nothing fancy. You have all the equipment you need. No one is certain what decade that equipment is from, but a pound is a pound. Gym floor is nice. No chips or dead spots. Just like any other place, be sure to bring shower shoes. Never really too busy. It gets the job done.
Positive experience: There are plenty of strength training options here for those who like free weights and for those who like machines. Although I haven't been during peak times (before 8am, noon or after work) it's never been too crowded. Most people wear their required masks correctly. 24/7 access was easy to register for (in person) and is convenient for after hours workouts.
Positive experience: Where I clean
Positive experience: I think this gym should be the 24/7 location. Gym is cool but every now and then you have a few dingbats who come in and forcefully slam the weights on the machines upstairs. Maybe they don't realize they could possibly be hit with an article 108 in the UCMJ if they do happen to break the equipment. Unless slamming weights are supposed to be an intimidation tactic? If so, I hope the AF invests in a boxing ring and then we can see how tough some of these guys are.
Fantastic experience: Best Gym ever. Best staff in the AF
Positive experience: Yes it’s free, but it treated like the not wanted. Shower heads are corrosive and the gym reeks of sweat from the past. All issues can be remedied. Staff are great. Free Internet.

Fantastic experience: Very clean and availability of multiple types of exercise equipment was good.
Fantastic experience: Outstanding gym and professional staff.
Fantastic experience: Very clean and availability of multiple types of exercise equipment was good.
Positive experience: Cool place to put in some work
Positive experience: Closes early on weekends. Limited equipment as well.
Positive experience: There's limited aerobics equipment, weights, & machines. They could use some renovations in those areas. Pluses are a full basketball court & locker rooms are decent. Contains a co-ed sauna.
Positive experience: Has everything you need for a full workout despite being a weird layout and being a little old. It's always super clean.
Fantastic experience: Sweet people
Fantastic experience: Tons of equipment and really clean.
Fantastic experience: Has everything I want. Was there for an awesome Wounded Warrior event.
Fantastic experience: Great place to exercise
Negative experience: It gets the job done. Ceilings in the weight rooms are too low to do pull ups. Whole gym desperately needs an upgrade. You would think with the money we spend on DOD we could find a contract in there for a new fitness center.
Fantastic experience: Sweet people
Negative experience: Closes too early on the weekends compared to the hours in the past
Positive experience: Needs a steam room!
Positive experience: Crowded but nice looking facilities
Positive experience: It seems to be a little older, but it has everything you'll ever need and some. New and old equipment, you'll get the workout you need, no doubt. Edit: I'm back to the gym after about 5 years of being gone. I don't think anything has changed. It's still just a great little gym all.
Positive experience: Definitely a weird set up but I had an amazing workout here today. Staff was very friendly. This will be my new gym. They have a weight lifting club which is really cool.
Fantastic experience: Staff were friendly
Fantastic experience: Love it
Positive experience: Decent workout equipment, they are updating some now.
Positive experience: Great workout but very crowded.
Positive experience: Love the sauna here. Plenty of machines for everyone. They have special facilities for those working out with children, including a play area.
Positive experience: Needs remodeling
Positive experience: Enough equipment to make gains but could be better.
Positive experience: I'm not a huge fan of this gym, mostly because of the small amount of weights and there isn't really enough equipment compared to how big the base is. It's not terrible though, as it has everything you need to get a good workout, and the cardio room is on point.
Negative experience: Good equipment, music is way too repetitive and loud. They just play the radio, and the songs are always the same. I've literally heard the same song every time here, and I can't even hear my own music since the radio is so loud.
Positive experience: You can get a good workout here. The set up is weird...almost like the building wasn't meant to be a gym but they turned it into one. You can definitely find yourself walking in circles trying to find what you need. The workers are friendly and helpful. There are also sani wipes positioned all over to clean the machines so that's good. I come here 5 days a week and can usually work the areas I need to work.
