Fantastic experience: Fit4Life Kerr is hands down one of the best gyms I’ve ever been to! The equipment is top-notch, the atmosphere is motivating, and the facility is always clean. A special shoutout to Ava at the front desk—she’s absolutely amazing! From the moment you walk in, her energy, professionalism, and friendliness set the tone for a great workout experience. She’s always ready to help and truly makes you feel like part of the Fit4Life family. Highly recommend this gym to anyone looking for a great place to get fit!

Negative experience: I’m not one to leave a negative review on a business but I truly believe people should know what they are getting themselves into when they try fit 4 life. Specifically the Kerr location. Both my fiance and I were scammed into 12 month memberships. When we went to sign up we asked multiple times if there was a commitment and the boy at the front desk told us it was month to month and we could cancel at anytime with a 60 day notice. When I look back now I should have known they were acting shady because they were being very forceful and never even showed us the contract we were signing. We thought we had asked all of the questions and understood what we were agreeing to but unfortunately they flat out lied to us throughout the joining process. I’ve read other reviews about this franchise of gyms that mention the same issue. The facility responds back saying “Our staff follows company procedure when signing up a new member which includes advising the member to review the signed agreement that is immediately sent to their email”. Correct, they tell you to look over the contract AFTER you’ve already signed up??? This is literally a strategy to trick people into extended term memberships and hope they don’t notice….. Anyways, it’s now been multiple months of myself and my fiance calling them trying to work something out to resolve a situation that should’ve never happened in the first place. They are disorganized and only care about scamming people. Any gym would be a better option than this franchise. I have since joined another gym, have been paying fit 4 life without attending, and will have to buy my way out of a contract that was not sold to me transparently. They have made NO effort to help me. Learn from my mistake I guess - Avoid! Avoid! Avoid!

Fantastic experience: I absolutely love this Fit4life location they are always helpful the Manager Grayson she is so amazing she goes out of her way to make sure you have everything you need she's such a great person and I highly recommend this gym especially this location

Negative experience: Not worth it, they’ll try to scam you out of money and getting out is a pain. Stopped going months ago. Place is usually pretty dirty and management is unfriendly.

Fantastic experience: Great place, Been to many gyms in wilmington this is by far the best. Has the most equipment, least crowded, great staff, friendly members, and so much other stuff. Shout out to the GM Wil he’s a great man

Negative experience: The gym itself is decent you can definitely get good work in here, but I’ve seen a bunch of reviews about price scamming and it’s 100% accurate. I signed up for personal training, my trainer left after a month & I was never once contacted or notified about any other options. They just kept charging me $250 a month, then when I tried to cancel after paying months for no reason they wouldn’t let me saying I was locked in for 6 months. So I paid $1500 dollars basically to use a $30 gym. I tried to talk to multiple locations about it and they were not Helpful at all, even more oddly they don’t let you communicate with corporate (another scam). Not too mention after the 6 months was up they charged me another two months saying I had to let them know about cancellation 30 days prior….. lol anyway yes I HIGHLY recommend NOT to sign up for this personal training SCAM.

Negative experience: Worst gym I’ve ever been to. Completely scammed my daughter and said she could get out of the membership whenever she wanted but when she tried to cancel it they told her she’s locked in for a year. The men up front r deceiving and full of themselves they need to shut this place down.

Negative experience: Always dirty and terrible services. They will scam you out of paying more money and will refuse to cancel your services when requested. You have to call or go in several times to ensure they actually canceled your contract and even then it'll take 90 days of still paying. If you have to trick a few hundred dollars out of someone, then your business is trash. The gym was always extremely dirty, the cleaners would only whipe the floors and then hang out for an hour. The equipment is old and trashy. Some of the equipment would come undone and hurt you and they never bothered to fix it. We often are harassed by homeless people who hang outside the gym and sneak in at night. I had to call the police after some guys snuck ij and harassed the women.

Fantastic experience: Fit for life on Kerr is a REAL gym for all levels with equipment you won't find at other popular gyms; and lots of it- no waiting for cardio or lifting equipment! If you are new to fitness/lifting or experienced, the staff helps you stay motivated to improve. I'm at my best fitness level in years thanks to F4L on Kerr.

Negative experience: My husband signed up for a membership and was told you could cancel within 2 weeks no charge. After a few days, we found out there's no way to cancel it because "he signed a contract". They did not disclose any information about a "buyout fee" or 60 day notice for cancellation. They use a third party and its the dumbest cancellation process for gym membership that I've ever encountered. Now we are locked in for 14 months. Do yourself a favor and go to another a gym. *Response to the owner As stated on "the contract" the membership is valid for 14 months and none of the options (change of address/doctor's note) apply to us. We have also called many times and you guys won't let us cancel the membership. I wish you guys would be more upfront about this before having to sign anything especially if you told us we can cancel ANYTIME before two weeks. This is so disappointing and I wish I could do ZERO stars.

Positive experience: Lots of good equipment and 24/7 access is great. Mostly friendly staff. But the place has not been well maintained since it switched over from TF fitness. It’s a dirty gym, which is to be expected to a degree, but could be a whole lot better. Also I can’t even hear the music in my headphones because the house music is blasting extremely loud constantly. Overall staying because there’s not much better in Wilmington unless you want to go to planet fitness and get mean looks for actually being fit

Negative experience: Gym itself is nice. A bit crowded and hard to navigate when there’s more than 20 people inside. The isles are narrow and the machines are a bit jumbled. I like the access to multiple machines not typically seen in commercial gyms. I wish all the weight plates were color coded- you’ll spend a lot of time searching for the weight you need. Locker room is clean and the sauna is a plus. That’s where the 2 stars come from. All great stuff and what I would expect from a gym in this price range. For the not so great… Front desk staff is nice, but pressures the sales pitch (but what gym doesn’t at this point, so not their fault by any means). The manager is trying to make me come in person to cancel (which isn’t stated anywhere in the contract I signed). Manager refused to speak to me, provide his callback info, or give his word that he’d call me once he was out of a meeting. Found it unprofessional that he wasn’t willing to stand behind his employee or offer any accommodation. Can’t imagine this is a great place to work either. I’d like to stay with this gym, but I cannot afford it for the whole year and the monthly plans are full of surprise fees and improvement costs that they end up being almost double the cost versus paying up front. Even with the student discount it’s a bit steep this time of year. Wanted to switch months ago but they never advertised a deal worth looking into. Very disappointed as this was an upgrade I wanted to make in the new year and was initially excited about. This wasn’t an upgrade. Planet Fitness will do. At least they’re transparent and the manager is more accommodating. Looks like I won’t be getting my deposit back.

Negative experience: Would not recommend. Bald short staff member will say he’s giving you a free week trail and then charge you for a 6 month contract without you knowing

Negative experience: My son signed up and now he is moving back home. He showed his driver license with the home address and they do not let him cancelled because it is the same document he used to enrolled. They let him enrolled with an ID that does not have a gym closed by but they do not let him cancel. This is not a way to trick kids. Be aware

Negative experience: Please never sign any type of membership with this company! It's a complete scam! The only way to cancel your membership is by paying 5 months worth of it. Even with picture proof of relocation, they will deny you. Go with Planet Fitness or O2!!!

Negative experience: Deceptive marketing, was told online that there was a 3 day free guest pass. Was then charged $15 for one day. Equipment was Mickey Mouse to say the least. Bench wasn’t screwed in, open screws near the squat rack machines. Metal on side of wall was not screwed in. Mismatched dumbbells. Dumbbells that were matched were poor quality and shaky. Machines are okay. Water fountain filter wasn’t changed. Dust everywhere. Planet fitness offers a better experience

Fantastic experience: It’s an amazing affordable place with childcare! I haven’t been able to do anything for myself after having kids for along time and this place gave me hope! I finally am able to find myself again by coming here!

Negative experience: Extremely dirty gym, don’t waste your time or money. My spouse was on a month to month membership, NOT ON A CONTRACT due to being in the military. He deployed and because he didn’t “cancel his membership correctly” they sent him to collections. Awful establishment!!! Do yourself a favor and find a gym that treats military members with more respect.

Negative experience: Gym is good, with enough space and equipment. Third party billing service is awful. I am moving and reached out a month in advance to terminate my membership which seems like enough time. The billing provider’s policy says 60 days notice which I don’t believe I was ever informed of and they are forcing payment for 90 days after my notice to terminate my membership. Will never join another Fit4life because of their terrible billing service.

Negative experience: I had been getting text messages about a free 3 day pass. When I came in to use it, the manager who’s name was Will informed me it had already been used and that I had to pay $15 for a day pass. I had no problem with that, but the manager was extremely short and rude to me and it was very apparent that he did not care at all about making me feel comfortable or welcomed. I’ve never experienced such a rude manager before I was shocked. I was already uneasy about going to a new gym, and it made me feel anxious during my entire workout when he would walk by. I do not think he should still be employed.

Fantastic experience: Ryan at Fit4Life was very welcoming and took all the intimidation away from going into a new gym he also shows a genuine passion for fitness and wants to make sure he gets a good understanding of what your personal goals are so you can obtain them!

Negative experience: This gym is run by a bunch of meat heads. Expect minimal effort from the staff and managers with bottom tier customer service. The owner, Will, will probably lie to you and give you 0 genuine answers just to sell you an account and take your money, which he and his staff will then dodge all you're requests to cancel the membership and just send you to their third party account managers. The water filter hasn't been changed in over a year for the water fountain which is ridiculous for a gym (and frankly disgusting), despite the bright red "change filter" light. Large variety of decent equipment, though. If the gym was cleaned properly and run by the right people this place would be awesome.

His passion for fitness is contagious, and I always leave their sessions feeling motivated and energized. Overall, my personal trainer (Kane)is simply amazing.

Manager Michael is of no help lack of customer service and liar! offered to credit a charge made on my teenagers account who was on a month to month and was charged extra than the $30 monthly fee. He first stated he couldn’t issue refund due to transaction still pending, perfect once it cleared I checked 4 days later nothing. I go in person then says he can’t issue it they use a third party company and I need to submit for cancellation of membership and credit but then why did YOU offer to credit account of you claim to not have capability to do so. Too much running thru hoops to get issue resolved lack of customer service and dishonesty with customer! I would avoid this location specially with the management they have working there

Negative experience: This place has the WORST communication possible and it is IMPOSSIBLE to cancel your membership. This franchise only cares about money. These gyms make you contact an outside company to "cancel" your membership since the local gym "doesn't handle that stuff" I was told directly. The outside company does NOT respond in a timely manner and you are not able to talk to anyone on a physical phone whatsoever. The written 60-day notice that the gym tells you is allowed apparently does not work-you will continue to be billed. Even after providing valid "proof" of moving-you will continue to be charged. This company does not care about you individually and will gladly continue to take your money. I have yet to have my membership cancelled. If you are thinking about joining Fit4Life save yourself and go literally anywhere else!!

Negative experience: This place is the worst. I hate that I ever signed up here. They scammed me into a year+ long membership when they advertised it as monthly. It is a horrible experience trying to cancel the membership as there is many fees associated with it. Do not sign up here they will take all of your money. The staff inside the building are nice and kind and equipment is nice, but the remote team and membership are a scam.

Negative experience: So frustrated with their membership policies. They make canceling a membership very difficult, and if you don’t follow all the steps exactly, you contine to be charged a monthly fee until you do it properly and you have to start all over again with a 60 day notice and a cancellation fee. I’ve never had such a difficult time. It reminds me when I was young many many years ago and joined a gym membership. It’s a scam in my opinion, Just beware and don’t believe everything they tell you. Read your contract.

Negative experience: DO NOT JOIN. worst costumer service I have ever received. They lied to me about my contract and just want your money. They do not help you or respond to you at all. They do not care about you. Good gym but I moved cities and needed to cancel my membership. I filled the form I was given but my membership was never canceled. I have continued to be billed and have tried to cancel again but nothing has worked. I’ve reached out serval times for help to cancel and no one has helped me at all. The whole situation is extremely frustrating. Don’t join if you think your gonna be moving anytime soon.

Negative experience: Terrible customer service. Signed up for 2 personal training sessions a month at $45 per sessions. Prior to any services being rendered I was charged $159. Definitely not what I was expecting based on the communication I received. Because it is now 5 days instead of 3 days later, I am locked into a contract I was not informed I was entering. Complete miss on effective and transparent communication or customer resolution. Be wary, who knows, if you buy a smoothie you might get locked into a $100 a month smoothie contract.
