Our comment from FitFit United States about VillaSport Athletic Club And Spa:
VillaSport Athletic Club And Spa, located in Beaverton, is recognized for its family-friendly atmosphere and extensive recreational facilities. Members appreciate the variety of exercise equipment, well-maintained workout areas, and superb swimming pools, including both indoor and outdoor options. The club offers a range of amenities such as a sauna, steam rooms, hot tubs, and a vibrant daycare for children, making it a popular choice for families.
Guests often highlight the excellent personal training programs, with many trainers receiving praise for their professionalism and personalized approach. The club has made significant efforts in providing cleanliness and maintaining a welcoming environment, thus fostering a positive community spirit among members.
However, there are concerns regarding customer service and the management's responsiveness. Some users have reported difficulties with billing inquiries, long wait times for swim lessons, and issues with the functionality of certain amenities. Additionally, the indoor swimming areas have frequently been closed, and various equipment and recreational features have been reported as regularly broken.
Despite the highlighted lapses, many visitors acknowledge the overall quality of the facility and express a desire for management to improve communication and maintenance. VillaSport is viewed as a place with great potential, especially for families, although prospective members should consider recent concerns regarding customer service and facility upkeep.
VillaSport Athletic Club And Spa: Opinions

Fantastic experience: Great club family oriented and professionally managed. Nice equipment and renovations and fantastic food & drink selects
Hello Animals & Technology, thank you for the great review! We’re thrilled you’re enjoying the family-friendly atmosphere, renovations, and fantastic food and drink options of Villa Sport. Looking forward to seeing you again soon!
Negative experience: Absolutely horrible and terrifying experience for us as a family with 2 kids. While the swim team hear is great and basically the only reason we attend the facility there are issues making us want to leave the place for the good. Dirty, poorly maintained family locker room. The hot tub which kids can use to warm after practice in the outside pool is not functioning for few weeks and they keep shifting the deadline. The hot tub in the “adult” area is closed to the kids (while adults have two more hot tubs inside) so critical recovery is just out of reach for the kids. Not enough space for the kids to take a warm shower in the family locker rooms as the hot tub is closed and everybody rushes to the shower to try and warm their kids. Experienced unprecedented level of ignorance and unacceptable behavior from staff when took my kid to the adult only women locker room to shower her in warm water as she was so cold she could not even breath. Staff scared her to death by following us, talking to me and trying to tell me I should not be there with my kid. Very sad to leave the team where my kids started training in September but overall this space is absolutely and deeply not family friendly.
Hello Elena, thank you for your feedback. We’re sorry to hear about your experience and appreciate you bringing it to our attention. Please reach out to our General Manager via email at [email protected] so we can address your concerns directly.
Negative experience: the actual workout space itself is great. however, im paying $150 a month to go to a nice gym and their spa room is always under construction. not only is it unavailable majority of the time, the showers always run cold. really frustrating gym, not worth the membership if you can't even have the basics functioning. won't be returning
Hello! thank you for your feedback. We’re glad to hear you enjoyed the workout space, but we’re sorry to learn about the spa room and shower issues. Your experience with these amenities is important to us, and we’ll share your concerns with our team. Thank you for taking the time to let us know.
Positive experience: Service and place is good as long as you don’t run into issues. In our case they charged us $25 late payment fee for no fault of ours. We are still fighting that and have not gotten it refunded yet. Also the group class instructors don’t seem to mark attendance properly and we also get warning and future charges of no show fee even though we attended the classes that we registered for. Buyer beware and if you are willing to keep giving money every month without making any changes this club is good for you. Just be cautioned that any changes you make will cause potential extra unnecessary and unneeded charges that you will either have to live with or go through hell to get it back. UPDATE: WE were able to get helpful support from Kiara from the Concierge clarifying the charges and confirming that the incorrect $25 late fee was indeed correctly processed and was not charged to my bank account to begin with. The way the details are showing up in the account was confusing enough that made us think we were charged that amount, but, Kiara clarified it's just the way the refund was accounted for. I wish the system were transparent enough without confusing the customers. But, my shoutout to Kiara for being very patient and ultra helpful.. Thanks again! I've updated the rating appropriately - the 1 less star is to urge Villa Sport to improve their processes further - including ensuring teachers give attendance credit correctly.
Hello Vasudevan, thank you for sharing your experience. We’re glad to hear you’re happy with the facility and service at Villa Sport but understand your concerns regarding charges. We value your feedback and encourage you to reach out to our general manager at [email protected] to help resolve this. We’re here to support you and make sure you have a positive experience.
Fantastic experience: I have been at VillaSport for over a year now and I love it. I love the pools, steam room and the exercise area. I’m shy when it comes to exercising but the staff and customers make me feel comfortable here. I have been working with personal trainer Steven Brock and he is great. He understands that I don’t know much about training but has made me feel comfortable to learn and try new exercises. I highly recommend Steven and VillaSport.
Hello Turu, Thank you for being a member at Villa Sport for over a year and for sharing your positive experience! We're thrilled to hear that you feel comfortable and supported by both our staff and community. It's great to know that Steven has made your personal training journey a positive one. We appreciate your recommendation and look forward to continuing to support you!
Positive experience: Weirdo was staring at the kids but the place itself is pretty good
Positive experience: I worked her briefly in the spa — it had the potential to be an incredible place to work (the spa manager Rachel is a GEM and it really is a super clean nice space), but as a big corporation, they absolutely skimped on the pay offer. It’s not a live able wage in this area (and the tips were very inconsistent and unreliable, much lower than the average spa) and for somewhere that markets themselves as “higher end” — they’d be wise to provide higher wages to those making them money. Towards the end of my time here, they were introducing a new corporate pay structure, which was basically just encouraging us to upsell our clients, and then get rewarded for it. As a massage therapist, it’s a pretty demoralizing pay structure honestly. Just pay us well in the first place and you’ll find you attract high quality employees who WANT to stay with you, whose Work sells itself again and again and again.
Negative experience: make sure when you cancel with them they don’t charge you for next three months after your cancellation, that happened to me couple times
Hello Geloria, Thank you for sharing your experience. We're sorry to hear about the issues with your cancellation and billing. We take these concerns seriously and will make sure to pass along your feedback to the team. If you'd like to discuss this further or need assistance, please feel free to reach out to our General Manager at [email protected].
Fantastic experience: Excellent services and all crews are friendly!
Hello Younggi, Thank you for the great feedback! We're thrilled to hear you enjoyed our excellent service and found our team to be friendly. We look forward to welcoming you back soon!
Positive experience: Expensive and I have been a member for 3 plus years and the reality is I mostly come to swim and use the steam bath and jacuzzis. The steam room is constantly broken and most recently for over one month. I would say on average that the steam room is broken 35%! Of the year. When one of the main amenities that you are paying to use is closed for over a month you should have a credit applied to your account or given some guest passes or a free smoothie from the cafe but that of course isn’t going to happen. Plus unlike other gyms good luck getting a guest pass they are tighter than a nuns bleep with those! It’s $40 for a day pass for a guest. Update as of Sept 30th last week the steam room was working and as of today it's broken again! Now the lights are turned off and the usual sorry for the inconvenience sign is not displayed. Maybe it's closed for good?
Hello Ann Marie Jenkins, Thank you for sharing your feedback. We're sorry to hear about the issues you've experienced with the steam room and your frustrations regarding guest passes. We understand the importance of having access to the amenities you value most, and we will pass your comments along to the management team. If you’d like to discuss your concerns further, please feel free to reach out to our General Manager at [email protected]. We appreciate your input and hope to make improvements to enhance your experience.
Negative experience: I joined in June 2024 and bought 2 swim packages for myself and son. After weeks emailing to schedule swim lessons the club said they are full for the summer. Yet, they oversold and had no problem collecting member's money. After 3 months of emailing management with no reply, I was told that it's non-refundable and they also charged me for a chargeback + late fee even though I am no longer part of the club. There is zero customer service when dealing with the billing department, aquatics office, or corporate office. The way they are conducting business will soon drive them out of business here in Beaverton. I am taking my family elsewhere and I wish the staff at Villa would take their careers elsewhere as well.
Hello Samantha, Thank you for sharing your experience. We're sorry to hear about the challenges you've faced with scheduling swim lessons and the issues with billing and customer service. We take your concerns seriously and will share them with the team for review. If you'd like to discuss this further, please feel free to reach out to our General Manager at [email protected]. We appreciate your feedback and regret that your experience was not up to expectations.
Fantastic experience: I have nothing but good reviews on this place :) the gym is awesome and it has alot of workout equipment and for the most part the gym is very clean and they supply cleaning wipes to clean your equipment off after use /water fountains/towels etc . There is a nice amount of room to workout at without feeling squished and very nice staff . If you are just now starting your workout journey or you are switching I very much so recommend this gym
Hello Emma, Thank you for the kind words! We're so glad to hear that you're enjoying the equipment, cleanliness, and spacious workout areas at Villa Sport. It's great to know our staff has made a positive impression, and we appreciate your recommendation. We look forward to continuing to support your fitness journey!
Negative experience: The highlighted features are commonly broke, i.e. steam room has been down well over a month in the women’s locker room. This is after it had recently been down a few weeks prior for multiple days. For the cost of membership, there is zero regard for members who pay a lot of money for these amenities. Unfortunately having conversations with the leadership personnel progressed nowhere and there wasn't an attempt to resolve my experience.
Hello Laura, Thank you for sharing your concerns. We understand how important these amenities are to our members, and we appreciate your feedback. We will pass this along to the team for review. If you'd like to discuss this further, our General Manager is available at General Manager BV [email protected] to assist. Thank you again for bringing this to our attention.
Positive experience: Cons: The indoor swimming pool play feature is closed a majority of the time. Every time we go it's closed for years now. **The outdoor kids play features are off a majority of the time too. There's always a reason yet it's been years. **It's a let down to my child and the parents we speak with at the facility. **The steam room is often out of order this time it's been nearly a month. **Yes the lockers act up at times **Prices for food and drinks are incredibly high. For $179/mo for my child and I this is a pretty big let down. Pros: - Friendly ladies on staff downstairs. -Childcare is nice. -yoga class is Awesome Overall members pay a lot and these issues are persistent.
Hello Fath, Thank you for your feedback. We’re sorry to hear about the ongoing issues with the indoor and outdoor play features, steam room, and other concerns. Your comments are valuable, and we’re working to address these issues to improve your experience. We’re glad to hear that you appreciate our friendly staff, childcare, and yoga class. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.
Positive experience: Good facility but customer service like updating, returning calls, resolving billing issues is not great.
Hello Nata, Thank you for your feedback. We’re glad you like our facility. We’re committed to improving our customer service, including response times and billing resolutions. Your input is invaluable, and we’re working hard to address these areas. We appreciate your patience and hope to provide you with a better experience moving forward.
Negative experience: The locker rooms are dirty, showers not clean, lockers broken. When life guards are present, they are often more busy talking with each other than focusing on the kids in the pool. Lastly, the pools and hot tubs are often closed. It’s a LOT of money to pay the poor quality of the facility and poor behavior of staff.
Hello Kristin, Thank you for sharing your concerns. We're sorry to hear about the issues you've experienced with our facilities and staff. Cleanliness and safety are top priorities for us, and we're taking your feedback seriously. We will address these matters with our team to ensure improvements are made. If you'd like to discuss this further, please contact our general manager directly so we can better assist you.
Fantastic experience: Been a member for a few months now. Great club. Expensive...but fancy enough to warrent price.
Negative experience: Schedule swimming lessons online, only to show up at the pool with no staff member assigned to it. Visit the front desk, only to have them say that scheduling online “doesn’t work”. Repeatedly visit the front desk to ask for someone to contact you for scheduling, only to receive no contact. To be clear, this is not a luxury facility, by any stretch of the imagination. A stack of clean towels does not equate to luxury. Everything else is neglected. This company, or perhaps this location, focuses too much on the top of the funnel, and everything below it suffers. After feeding them hundreds per month for our family’s membership and having issues with their pool lessons, we stopped payments to them. Eventually, we thought we’d try again, but their management wanted back payments for the stopped months, plus an enrollment fee—even though we stopped using the facilities coinciding with stopped payments, and even though they repeatedly failed to deliver on swim lessons we paid separately for. How about some accountability and an apology instead? Nope—there are too many unsuspecting incoming enrollees for that kind of thing. If nothing else sways them, perhaps eventually the negative reviews seemingly gaining some momentum will.
Fantastic experience: Best daycare team. Kiddos love the teachers! Take the body pump class with Kjersten if you’re up for a challenge. As a new parent, I feel super lucky to have found this place.
Positive experience: I have been coming in as a guest every so often, and it’s great! I do find that in the slow hours, the women’s steam room might be filled with old towels… a little icky. The only reason I don’t join is because of how far away Villa is. I’m hoping that one day there will be a VillaSport in Happy Valley!!!
Fantastic experience: Awesome pool, they have food and the service was okay.
Fantastic experience: The best place ever! First of all, there are swimming pools and a gym! The pool showers are PRIVATE! You can shower privately! They have shampoo and body wash ready in the shower! They have everything! There is a blow dryer near the sink! I forgot to tell you, there is a daycare in Villa sport! Bring your little ones to the daycare! Villa sport is AWESOME
Negative experience: Today was my 3rd day after joining Villa Sport. First day, I had my stuff locked out for two times. Both lockers are faulty. I had to call the person who can open the lockers. Please fix your combination lockers. 2nd day, I went there for the stretch yoga and sound bath which was good and I enjoyed it. 3rd day – I had an appointment with the fitness trainer to discuss and show me around. I expected at least 30 minutes out of the hour that they gave me will used for me to learn about machines and some workout that I can do. It was a total disappointment. First, she talked to me about eating habits and once she heard that I am a healthy eater, she did my In Body measurements. This lasted another 10 minutes and then she started promoting her fitness plan. When I told her that I am not interested in getting that, she sounded disappointed. However, by this time, she wasted almost 45 minutes of my time already. We walked into the fitness room where she was going to show me what to do. When I told her that I would like to lose at least 10 lbs and some fat in my abdominal area, she told me basically that I do not have to do any exercise and just control it with meals. I wanted to ask her if she meant for me to quit their gym. Anyway, she told me to use the sponge roller which she did not explain how to use and when I asked what it is, she showed me the roller and told me that I will have to use it. I had to specifically ask her to show me how to use it and then only she was willing to show me how to use it. According to her, I should not use any group lessons or other things and I am wondering if this fitness club is shooting on their own foot by discouraging people to use their machines or group classes. Also, when you give a trainer, at least tell them that they have to show how to use some machines and what to do without just trying to promote other programs within to gain more money. People will stay with your club if you give them a good program to workout. Not trying to push your agenda of selling more and more things. Very disappointed and will see how it is going to workout in the next couple of months.
Negative experience: This place was great a few years ago but, they clearly have no cap on members. Where other "luxury" type of clubs have things like waiting lists, Villa seems to add 50 new members and entire families every day. It is now at the point where you could go at 11 in the morning on a Tuesday and it's absolutely filled to the brim. Every hour of every day is 100% full and weekends are way way way over full ( you could wait around all day and not get a chance to swim in any of the four pools.) Every single year they seem to aim at maximizing profits and not comfort. You pay a lot of money to go here, but rarely get the chance to enjoy any of the amenities. Very annoying that they just continue to accept new members into infinity.
Negative experience: Constant issues with the swimming pool and showers. The club management doesn’t really care. Complaints don’t work. Almost impossible to get a billing question answered.
Negative experience: I feel so bad, outdoor pool always closed in some reasons. I think they need to review the pool rules, for example, must use swim diapers in the pool , make sure the accidents not happen too often.
Negative experience: Very hard to call and get ahold of anymore. No one answers there main line. Very poor customer service
Positive experience: Going on Month 4 of this club. Joined due to their 2hr childcare add on. As a family of 3 we pay $252 a month and were able to get a few guest passes loaded in when signing up. Most of the cons for this place do revolve around their family amenities Pros - large weight area - free weights are spread throughout -great classes from Pilates, barre, yoga. Zumba - women have their own steam room / sauna / hot tub area for 18+ -outdoor adult only area (have yet to try drinks / food) - plenty of treadmills / stair steppers / overall machinery there’s typically only a wait for a bench in the free weights area Cons -Staff does not allow for nursing mothers to use the women’s locker room sitting area. I was actively breastfeeding when a female worker told me I had to leave the women’s locker room and use the family room. - there is only one nursing room in the family locker room which is windowless, and is barely enough room for the door to open and close. To this I was told that I could use the changing rooms to nurse. These are usually always filthy and/or covered in water from kids leaving the pool area -Villa kids infant room staff does not report times for diaper changes / feedings / naps so we’re not sure if they do log these items - Villakids staff will remove items from diaper bags and not place them back inside so you have to continuously search the lost and found. - Their app is not very user friendly and crashes pretty often - Villakids staff rarely pickup the phone. However if you call the front desk they pickup quickly and will transfer you to a Villa kid staff member as they share the same front counter. But why won’t Villa kids just pickup? Who knows. Super annoying. - Villakids have an Inadequate number of staff in the infant childcare multiple times. Oregon law ratio is 4:1 and we’ve seen 5:1 multiple times. -Family locker room has outdated / old / ripped furniture while the men and women’s facilities have been updated. - tends to be a long waitlist for kids 3+ Friday-Sundays. If you have a kid under 2 and over 3 this would be difficult in getting them both to be watched within the same 2 hrs block.
Positive experience: Nice to lay by the pool on the grown-up side during summer, feels like a mini vacation to a beach on Mexico. Cocktails are not very good, you can get the random good drink but often the proportions are all mixed up (not the amount of alcohol, the proportions themselves). Food could use some improvement, especially for those with allergies. But laying by the pool is a relaxing way to spend a summer evening.
Fantastic experience: I love working out here. All the amenities you want and more for a fair price.
Negative experience: There is a long list of issues I could list, but the summary is you don’t get much for your money over less expensive gyms. Basically you are paying for the privilege of a less crowded gym, and access to a pool, and a couple specialty pieces of equipment. Otherwise it’s not great. I’ll note that I’d give 2 stars if it weren’t for some really disappointing issues that were a real turn off: 1.) I’ve never been in a worse smelling locker room. Not sure what died and rotted in someone’s locker but man was it gross. 2.) somehow the AC never was working. Not that I need perfect temp in a gym but I overheard employees complaining and it’s just tacky - you sweat more and then the equipment gets gross a lot faster. 3.) general lack of cleanliness - I’ve seen numerous objects floating in the jacuzzi’s for instance. 4.) only 1 water fountain in the whole place. They put out a couple of those office style water coolers but it just doesn’t make you feel classy. 5.) Other weird decisions with the layout. For instance almost 1/3 of the building is dedicated to a huge waiting area. Why? Why not add a running track or more rooms for classes? Makes no sense. Again - the above complaints wouldn’t be so big a deal if you weren’t paying so much per month. Not that it’s a lot for a rich person, but then again if you can afford that rate like me then you probably agree with my comments because part of having money is having high standards.
Fantastic experience: Very pretty and it was my first time and there is a outdoor pool hot tub and a water slide (it was closed) I went just to swim so idk anything else inside there is a lap pool and more
Fantastic experience: We were members here for 2-3 years, initially because they had (maybe still have) the best swimming lesson program in town for kids. All the teachers who taught our son were terrific. The facilities are great, though you can see for yourself if they work for you by taking a tour or trying a day session. The staff were always friendly, easy to access and helpful - both within the workout/play areas and everyone we dealt with in the office/membership area. We had a billing issue once - due entirely to our own mistake - and the manager solved it for us immediately. We only ended up leaving because we’re in outer SE Portland and our weekday schedules couldn't accommodate the drive, although on weekends. the drive is just fine (only about 15-20 minutes). If you’re looking around at clubs to join, you should at least put this one on your list and take a tour - if we lived a little closer, we’d stay for sure.
Positive experience: Fun pool for the kids! Great Villa kids club! Most of the staff is very friendly and work hard. The only issues I've had have been with the swim department and obtaining refunds. Just avoid swim lessons here and the rest is amazing!
Fantastic experience: I absolutely love this gym and they have the best kid care! Their classes are all amazing they have Pilates and Barre!
Negative experience: I’ve been a member since they opened and have seen this club go steadily downhill. Was there just today, ladies locker room was filthy, mold in the showers, dirt and gobs of hair in the floor, just disgusting. I’ve complained to staff but nothing changes.
Negative experience: It was the worst experience I had for taking my kids BD party over there. They didn’t organize anything ahead. They changed any rules that they offered before. They charged me more than we talked and they didn’t take care of it after the party. They supposed to provide cutlery as they offered but they didn’t. We had to go for it and they were so slow to provide it. I scheduled for a yoga and they informed me just before party started that the yoga must be held in upstairs which wasn’t discussed before and wasn’t applicable for us to go and back with some of kids, we had to cancel it and we agreed to cancel it but surprisingly they have charged me for that and refused to refund .I don’t recommend it to anyone at all.
Positive experience: There are definitely a lot of things villa can improve on but overall it’s a good gym Villa kids has improved and I really appreciate the hours being all day without the break in the middle of the day My girls absolutely adore Tatiyana in Villa kids She’s one of their best most consistent employees hands down
Negative experience: For the amount of money it costs it should be significantly better. Their app/online portal is very flawed and makes it so you can’t register for daycare or classes. They rarely have the kids indoor water play structure open. Machines will breakdown and be down for a week or more. It took them almost a month to fix two water stations.
Negative experience: Organization is in Shambles. Horrible experience, have been trying to cancel my membership for 6 months and they keep charging me. Spoke with their corporate Concierge, they say they have informed the local club multiple times to cancel this but they are not even getting a response back e even thought he entire management staff has been on emails. When corporate can't get a response from their own club you know the organization is in shambles. Do not go here.
Fantastic experience: The staff, the Villakids, the cafe, the workout options and equipment. Villasport has it all. Wonderful place to meet workout buddies, get fit and enjoy the pools!
Negative experience: My son cut his foot open on a broken tile in the kids' pool. They told us the pool would be fixed. He cut his foot again, two weeks later on a different broken tile in the same pool
Negative experience: As the experience at the gym is getting worse and worse, villasport is not worth their premium membership costs. They regularly close the gym for various reasons without any notice to members. Just in the last few months they've had to close or not open several times due to poor maintenance/electrical issues, staffing issues such as manager on duty not showing up. Leaving a crowd of member waiting outside the facility. Pools were too cold to swim in for over a month earlier this year. Sauna was down for weeks. Much of the fitness machines are the same equipment of budget gyms like planet or crunch fitness. Half of the water stations in the facility aren't working and rather than fixing them they are just removed. It seems much of the facilities focus in promoting various events and money grabs vs maintaining their club for members.
Negative experience: HORRIBLE GYM dont waste your time. I canceled Oct 5th and they keep charging my card for various fees and costs 2 months later totaling over $600 out of nowhere. And they keep charging me monthly dues despite charging me a cancellation fee.
Negative experience: Don’t get me wrong- I enjoy the pool and hot tub, and have enjoyed any of the classes I’ve taken. What makes me rate VillaSport so low is their customer service and no response from management when I’ve attempted contact. I’d love it if someone would actually contact me back- I can’t access any of my account details online to update them, modify payment, etc because my account “may not exist”. I’ve worked with customer service on site to attempt to remedy the problem, but they don’t have the ability to do so.
Negative experience: It is incredibly sad that many of the people who provided low stars are in the same position. The customer service and quality of staffing in certain areas of this gym are horrific. The personal training is the one and only place where this gym shines. But it's due to the quality and ethic of my personal trainer. Otherwise this gym is mediocre for a club status. I have been billed incorrectly every month since I have signed up. And to get this resolved has been incredibly challenging. This is unfortunate because I would otherwise be ok with the midline service provided at the cost that I am paying. It unfortunately highlights that going to a competitor Club like LIfeTime would be worthwhile, even with the increase cost per month.
Fantastic experience: It was a good time. People definitely use this establishment for health and exercise. It was clean, and I enjoyed myself for the couple hours. Sauna was nice.
Positive experience: I was a member prior to Covid and made a lot of friends there. I have been back for several months and it is a different place with a completely different vibe. Unless you have kids the sense of community is NON EXISTENT. Even the staff and personal trainers do not have a friendly demeanor or attitude. You see the same exact people working out at the same times, sharing lockers, nearby, be at the pool or in the sauna at the same time, NO ONE says a friendly word to anyone. INCREDIBLY SAD. The club does not encourage or support a sense of community. I don't mean it to be social club but but a robotic in and out place devoted of soul, is very sad. Lastly there is an over abundance of cardio machines often un used and a lot of of equipment missing (Even LA Fitness has better quality equipment). This is why my rating is only 3 stars
Negative experience: Echoing many of the other reviews. The club has potential but has fallen off a cliff in terms of customer service, staffing, and quality of amenities. The indoor pool structure is usually closed and when it is open most things don’t work. Large water drop on top hasn’t worked for over a year. This is either a maintenance issue and/or staffing as a lifeguard needs to be present while the water is turned ON. The outdoor pool water toys/features are broken and have sharp edges. In addition to the physical issues with the club, we have had multiple instances where we have been over billed or incorrectly charged and it takes a monumental effort to get the charges corrected. This further highlights a lack of customer service.
Negative experience: Play structure in indoor pool is always closed, slides outside always closed. Kids toys are broken and have sharp edges, they don’t retire them when they should and pose a risk for kids cutting themselves. We had mysterious charges show up on our bill twice and the billing folks are very difficult to deal with and did not want to refund us for a service we did not sign up for. We’ll be going to Lifetime Fitness
Negative experience: Cancelled membership in September, charged for October. Over-drafted my account…when I went in to cancel I was given a sheet of paper. Told to sign and I was out the door. I’m sure there is some fine print in that document. Don’t recommend this place.
Negative experience: It takes 30 days to cancel membership. That is hot garbage. The website doesn't work. They charge you a 30 day membership due to cancel plus $85. It is an egregious overcharge. All that still leading to an understaffed club where no one answers the phone.
Negative experience: This club used to be great and still has potential. It is frustrating to pay $300 a month for a family of 5 when so many things are wrong. Luckily we only join for the summer. Couldn’t imagine paying all year. When we first joined 4 years ago or so there were minimal issues. But here is everything I can think of that has been an issue. - family locker room doesn’t have towels many times - indoor pool structure is usually closed and when it is open most things don’t work. Large water drop on top hasn’t worked for over a year. - haven’t seen lifeguard or the indoor pool for a long time - outdoor pool doesn’t have lifeguards at times - both pools are shut down at times due to maintenance issues. - at least one of the family locker showers is broken - bar at adult pool seems to be rarely open
Hi G S Thank you so much for your review. We appreciate you taking the time to mention how our club could be better. I have just forwarded your review to our general manager to investigate further and address these issues.
Negative experience: I'll preface by saying the facilities are great and kept relatively clean and presentable. A good experience there. Pools, tubs, etc. are pretty decent. That said, I've yet to run into a more administratively inept place. It's actually laughable. Whoever is their head of Admin there absolutely needs to be let go. We've been members for over a year and in that time we've never managed to get through a simple admin request without grief. They've double-charged us, neglected to change account primary despite repeated requests, and now that we've asked to end our membership, they're still taking our money despite giving them their 30-day notice (they make you jump through hoops to unsuscribe to them, of course). Please get it together, VillaSport. Your guest experience is absolutely diminshed by how poor your customer service and accounting dept. are.
Fantastic experience: It is a great space for family. We moved recently to PDX, and this place made us feel part of a community. My daughter loves it, and so I do. The only downside is their customer service. It can be hard to talk to people and get things solved.
Negative experience: We use it just for the pool. I do love that we can go swimming whenever we want..but too expensive for what you get. The pool is closed often or water features are not on. They close off the kids slide so kids can't use it when the water is off... And it is usually off. The hot tub is usually like warm but they still don't allow kids in there even when there is poop in the pool and the heat is not working in the pool I had my kid enrolled in swim lessons. The teacher was great with kids but one time the teacher did not show and I've called over 20 times to get it fixed and no resolution yet. Poor communication and won't get refunded if they don't show up for your child's lessons.
Negative experience: Like many others have stated in reviews recently this club has really gone down hill. The kid classes are hit and miss (more miss) when it comes to availability. The environment reflects the staffs apathey to keep the place clean, stocked with towels and generally useable. The behavior of other patrons has also contributed to the decline. There have been too many times to count that the pool facilities have been shut down for one reason or another, exercise equipment is out of service, etc. I wouldn't consider rejoining even if it was half the cost. It's probably fine for single or adult couples but it's not worth it for families.
Negative experience: Visited expecting a nice stay, but it's not worth the $200 fee. I felt not only my health and safety was being dismissed, but the health and safety of staff members as well. Management was difficult to communicate with, if I could ever reach them to begin with. For such a pricey establishment with such high reviews, I expected more dilligence from the people running it.
Negative experience: I’m not sure who dropped the ball on this but my membership had been cancelled about a year ago. However, I was still charged and the club was fully aware of it. I spoke with someone by the name of Chase in membership enrollment department who was very understanding and helpful. I thought that things had been fixed. I was to either have a check mailed or be given the option to start my membership over again (the dues that shouldn’t have been collected, applied towards that month). I followed up with calls and emails, yet the responses began to slow down. Eventually stopping altogether. So, my question to Villasport is how can this be rectified? It would be great if they actually responded. I would be more than happy to update my review if some type of follow up were to take place.
Fantastic experience: A very sophisticated sporting facility. With indoor and outdoor pools. There is a special corner for women to pamper themselves. They have a family changing room too. Well equipped athletic club. I have visited a couple of times, though not a member. The parking space is huge too.
Negative experience: Went in a week ago. Showers were cold. Went in this morning. Hot tub was colder than a bath. Steam room was broken down. Sauna was room temperature. Locker didn't lock. Towel bins were over flowing onto the floor (very typical here.) More often than not, the kids' play structure in the pool is closed for no apparent reason. Sometimes it's open, sometimes it's not. There's no rhyme or reason. They seem to just like being able to yell at the kids for daring to play on the kids structure. This club is a has-been with top-notch pricing. The one good thing about the club is they don't really have or follow any rules. Kids can wear snorkels to learn how to swim while SHARC, for whatever reason, does not allow them. It really is a shame that their management is entirely inept. They have a lot of employees standing around talking to employees. They "could" have employees testing levels and testing temperatures and repairing broken amenities. Instead, they just let their customers pay for things that they won't be getting.
Positive experience: When we first signed up for this club in early 2022 it was top notch, clean and had greet services. Since then unfortunately the quality of service and experience has gone down significantly. Showers, bathrooms and locker areas are often dirty and definitely not cleaned regularly. This is much worse in the family change rooms. The kids pool indoors is closed every so often and the water feature has now been broken for over a month. We still love the outdoor pool all year around since it's heated but monthly fee for this club is not low and I feel we're no longer getting out money's worth. I have notified management of these issues and I do hope they make some improvements.
Fantastic experience: Excellent place, very professional staff. My family and I are happy with the help of the people who give the tour. I don't remember the name but thanks for your time. Today I am a member and I am happy. Everything is beautiful. Thank you❤️❤️❤️❤️julio Velasco
Positive experience: It’s interesting that they seem to not try to do better, especially while losing so many people to Life Time. Going to both within a few weeks there were massive differences. Although, I do note that Life Time is new and much more expensive. 1. Is everything always broken? Indoor pool has been closed with no updates for a while. 2. All the water features for kids at the outdoor pool are broken and often off. Big sharp cracked plastic edges my kiddo cut his hand on just by touching by accident. Swimsuit spinner has never worked in family locker room that I know of. The water refill stations either. Locker rooms are super gross. Two smeared poop issues (all over the floor) this week, used pads and tampons in showers, hair balls etc. Yuck! I’ve NEVER seen a towel in the cool towel fridge. Never seen steam in the “steam room.” 3. There are some things in the family locker room like lotion, sometimes if you search. More stuff if the Womens locker room, but again you have to search for it and it’s not always there. Ants! My clothes were covered in ants from my locker. 4. The whole no guest pass thing is really bad business. Give members a few guest passes a month, that’s how you get and retain members! 5. My small children have hated going to villa kids so far and have refused to go back. They said the staff ignored them and just told them to go play in the gym for the whole 2 hours. HUGE missed opportunity here. On the other hand they LOVED Life Time and the classes offered while in the child care. 6. Where are all the classes? Not much variety and kids classes only happen a few times a WEEK. Well actually there are no kids classes at all (again huge miss) but the few they can go to with parents are rare. Seriously Villa! Clean the areas, keep them stocked, simple, every sink should have lotion, hairspray, q-tips etc. not 1 set for the whole locker room, also why doesn’t the family locker room have this stuff? This is huge. Replace gross and furniture. Give Members 2 guest passes a month. Have kids classes! Seriously so strange they don’t since they claim to be family oriented. Make broken things a priority!!! Make bug infestations a priority!! So much missed Opportunity! When in villa kids why the heck are they NOT doing classes with them like they do at lifetime? Or at the very least playing with them. Classes Like yoga and tumbling would be easy to lead, this is a massive miss!!! They’re going to go out of business. At this rate they have to keep up with their competitors at lifetime at-least in the most basic ways. I felt like a celebrity at Life Time at villa I feel like I’m on the wrong side of the tracks! Definitely just going for one month to use the pool with the kids then done.
Negative experience: As a first timer going to the spa area only I had one of the worst, strange experience. I signed up for a prenatal massage here at their spa and I was going into it thinking it will be the best given the price. I was wrong, from the start of it til the end. It was a 60 min massage w a 15 min foot massage. It was not 60 min at all it was like a 45-50 min massage . When I walked into the room (mind you I was full on pregnant ) the lady that got me had something for me to lay on my stomach like what!? First of that was wrong already she had no idea what she was doing right from the bat I didn’t wanna go through with it at this point I was like is this a joke ?! I told her I need pillow as I can’t lay on my tummy I need to lay on my side I had to tell her what i needed as a professional I think you’d know!? Second she smelled like cigar mind you im pregnant but I know what that smells like it was just overall uncomfortable I wanted to leave and just have her be done just over all terrible experience. She almost seemed like she didn’t know at all but again given the price of this massage I would think they are professionals nope I was wrong. Never going back there again. Save your money at this point LOL i can’t even I laugh about it because it was that bad
Hi Lo, Thank you so much for bringing this to our attention and we are so sorry to hear about this. I have just forwarded this to our general manager to let them know about this. Again we are very sorry to hear about this negative experience.
Negative experience: Very expensive club, and they have a ways to go. Locker rooms are often dirty, reported a dryer outlet was not working, and months later, it’s still not working. I pay over $130/month for a SINGLE membership to come into a locker room with dirty showers, empty towel shelves, overflowing dirty towel bins and overflowing trash in the bathrooms, these pictures were at 4pm on a Sunday. I am ending my membership early because you should not have this happen at almost $1600/year. Done.
Negative experience: This place has gone downhill and is no longer worth it. Lots of workout equipment with cracked vinyl, missing knobs, and some benches not even secured to the floor. Workout towels frequently run out in the locker rooms. Cold towels for the sauna almost always out. Hyper focused on kids summer camps and ignore everything else. It’s basically a glorified daycare center at this point.
Hello William. Thank you so much for bringing this to our attention. I went ahead and forwarded these issues to our general manager who will do their best to get these problems sorted. Thank you again for your review and for letting us know about these inconveniences.
Negative experience: Worst ever. Signed my kid up for the Water hole fun. The normal person would think this meant that they would be in the water correct. Not the case, 2 hours out of the 6 hours they play in the pool. This is also in the morning when not as warm. Also wasn’t aloud to go down the waterside because I was told they didn’t have enough lifeguards on duty. I feel that is a Villa sport issue. Their excuse is in small print on the page. Activity’s subject to change, this is bait and switch. I paid $480 for one week as a non member price. My twelve year old was stuck in a room with a bounce house with all the 5-7 year old. We have a trampoline at home if he wanted to bounce. They wouldn’t let him play basketball in the gym. Also on the site says they feed you lunch with a different meal everyday, so after Monday we have packed a lunch. I’d give this a zero if I could, Unbelievable what a Ripoff this was.
Negative experience: Additional issue since original review: Villa has charged my credit card for dues the last 2 months when I only gave permission to withdraw from my checking. I have never given them permission to use my card for dues. In addition, I was charged extra for my daughter's membership this month even though she is no longer supposed to be a member. I submitted a drop request in late July and they claim they never received it. No word back from Concierge at this time. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I have been a member for 2 years now and I have seen some things improved and then other issues gone downhill. I had several issues with my child not being supervised carefully at VillaKids. My child was injured 4 separate times! Thankfully, this issue has not occurred again, yet at the same time, my child is a few years older and can talk and defend oneself better. I am a lap swimmer and sadly, the pools (all of them) have a lot of dirt in them, regularly. The kid water feature is rarely working. 2 out of 3 pools have been unheated for weeks with no signage or alert sent to members. The women's spa area in the locker room is often over capacity with not enough chairs. The steam room was broken for over 5 months! In the bathrooms, many of the faucets are not secured and move all over. There is no handyperson on site that I know of because plugged up sinks took up to 2 weeks to fix. There is occasionally a shortage of towels. It does not seem like your dues go towards much of any improvements. Showers were finally remodeled in the women's locker room but the process took way longer than one would expect. On a few occasions my account has been overcharged. When you try to contact "concierge", often you have to leave a voicemail. Sometimes you hear back, sometimes not. When comparing the quality of swim lessons at Villa vs. THPRD, hands down, THPRD has cleaner pools, lifeguards at all times and better trained staff. It would be nice if employees would actually enforce the rules. All too often people are talking on their phones in places designated call-free (locker room, spa). Women are supposed to be "quiet" in the spa area but occasionally women come in groups and talk quite loudly. Some women actually hog the chairs by placing a towel down and leave to go swimming, then finally return 30-60 minutes later. Lifeguards do not supervise the pools around the clock. Half the time when I bring my child, no one is on duty. At least have someone watching the kids in the children's section of the pools! The workout equipment is pretty good. Machines are in working order typically. Not enough hand weights in 1,2,3,5 lb range. The stretching area has been moved to the middle of the room where so many can see you from their machines. Before, it was located in the corner and offered more "privacy". There is not enough stretching room at times, which is frustrating. Front desk staff should be cross-trained to check in kids for child care. It is not unusual to wait 5-15 minutes before you are able to get through the process to pick up your child. I do appreciate the Parent Night Out events. The child care staff seems to have improved in the last 6 months. I appreciate they hold fun events for families, but usually there is a fee. Most of the time the fee is more expensive than such an event elsewhere in the community. If this facility were more affordable, my spouse would be a member. Unfortunately only myself and our child can go. I don't know of another facility that has comparable amenities near my home around the same price. If there were, likely I would have left Villa long ago. I do want to note that the General Manager is approachable and did take my issues seriously when I reported them. I like the yoga exercise instructors. The women who tend to the laundry are kind. Here's hoping my review was worth the time spent and some improvements are made. Lastly, if my monthly due was more affordable, I would have given this place a 3/5.
Negative experience: This place went down hill. We used to be able to get drinks at the pool now it is a 20mins wait for everything. They are giving “gift cards” that can’t be used anywhere. Tons of cardio equipment but very little weight lifting options. I gave it 2 stars because they have an adult only pool section otherwise I would say go look at the new Life Time gym. Seems a lot more promising. I might be doing that too.
Negative experience: Overall great experience until you need to make changes to your account. Then it can drive you crazy: their app doesn't work, their website doesn't work/doesn't show all the info on your account, it's impossible to get somebody on the phone, and when you go in person - kids at the service desk most likely won't know anything, and the manager "just stepped away". Therefore just two stars
Negative experience: If the rating were based on the staffing would be a 10+ Although they have too many untrained. They apparently got a new computer system and it sucks! Took them over a month to get me signed up because of a "computer glitch". The concierge worked diligently. Nothing she could do. (She's a 10) Can't trust the class list for water aerobics. The app says "indoor pool". Sometimes it is; it can be held in 1 of three places. My account won't let me put charges on it. "Another glitch" they said. The place is very nice. Very clean.. I've had so many problems with my "glitchy" account I am giving it a 1.
Negative experience: My friend signed up right before summer and they said nothing about their summer no guest pass policy. And now their complimentary 1-day passes for first-time guests are also unavailable?? She pays an arm and a leg for this place, can't take a friend, and constantly has trouble making bookings. I was planning to sign up if I liked going with her but certainly saving my money.
Negative experience: Could be great, but there are major issues... Pro's: - Childcare available, however, child needs to become a member. - Beautiful pools and outdoor area. - It has pretty much everything you need: Plenty of group sessions, a gym and a basketball court. Con's: - It's old and too crowded. The machines in the gym are very outdated. There are also too few machines in total, which means that it's impossible to do a workout without major working times. Cardio machines are super old as well. This is not what I expect from a gym at that price level. - It's expensive. We are paying 250 USD for 2 adults and a toddler. However, they are still trying to maximize their profits by trying to sell you personal trainer sessions. Apparently that is how their trainers make their money, by commission. You feel milked like a cow. - The kids pool area is always turned off or broken. This was one of the big reasons we joined. However, even during the most busy times of the day, this area is often closed. - There are nice cabanas outside which are constantly reserved for people that have rented them for 1.600 USD. They are never used. What a waste of space! Another example of how to just maximize profits with rich customers, while 99% of the other members have to fight for the remaining chairs. This could be a great place if they would renovate their gym, worry more about making their members happy and giving them good value for their money instead of milking them as much as possible. We will cancel our membership again and look elsewhere.
Positive experience: Villa sport is a very upscale fitness club with many fun options for the kids. I gave it 4 star cause the price is a bit high compared to MANY other options locally. I think its fun for a month or two but at that price there are plenty other things worth trying.
Negative experience: We became members in January of this year and have been disappointed time and time again. When we visited the first time everything felt clean, but only rarely after that. The family locker rooms were often so dirty there were clumps of hair, standing water on slippery tiles, and even feces. The indoor pools were frequently closed with no warning or explanation. Once, during a less busy time. we asked to play basketball on the smaller court, which was empty, but they wouldn’t open it for us and simply said “sorry, it’s not open right now”. The Wi-Fi barely works at all inside the building and the website and app consistently take so long to load that it feels like we’re living in the 1990s. The icing on the cake is that we canceled our membership in April 2023 so that our last month of membership would be May. We turned in our signed forms, spoke to two separate employees about it and they assured us we were all set. Well, despite cancelling they charged us over $300 for June. It has now been almost three weeks and we have communicated with four staff at corporate and the Beaverton location and no one can help us because they “can’t find our form”. This is unacceptable. The only redeeming factor is that all the people we’ve talked to about the issue have been very patient, kind, and understanding, despite not being able to make it right.
Negative experience: STAY AWAY! Complete scam. Was a loyal member for 4 years. Was great at first but then quality and service plummeted. Appointments always cancelled with no follow up despite saying they would be in contact. Canceled membership which has to be with WRITTEN LETTER in PERSON, which we did. But they still charging us despite cancellation. When we call they ignore and won't even give real name. STILL fighting credit card charges. GIVE YOUR CREDIT CARD AT YOUR OWN RISK! Oh, and if you don't believe me just go to the BBB website and look at their F rating! They scamming multiple people.
Hello! I am so sorry to hear about your negative experiences at VillaSport and I have made sure to bring your concerns and complaints to the attention of our general manager. You can also reach out personally to our GM, Tyler, with any other questions or comments at [email protected]. Thanks for bringing this to our attention and apologies again for the negative experience!
Negative experience: FIX THE INDOOR KIDDIE POOL JUNGLE GYM it’s why we joined and the big structure is so tempting yet always down?? It’s some buckets and a slide why hadn’t it been fixed??
Negative experience: Place has gone downhill! Used to be so nice. Now equipment always broken, front desk girl with nose ring absolutely rude (and she’s the first point of customer service) some of us SUPPORTED them paying during covid lock down even & never used any credit that was promised because it “expired” then today they force you to use a new app etx. Guess time to go to the new Life fitness. Sucks because the manager Tyler is super nice but the place is not the same especially some of the ride entitled attitude staff. Been coming since they opened but time to find a gym for this much $$ where you don’t get some young woman’s attitude & equipment constantly down
Thanks for the feedback. We take this seriously. We'll be sure to bring this up with the team. If you have any additional details please feel free to shoot an email to Tyler at [email protected]. Thank you and apologies for the inconvenience!
Positive experience: Lots of equipment and fun outdoor pool area for kids and adults. They have an outdoor bar and bbq in the summer but it get very crowded. I love the day care here but sometimes it’s difficult to get a child care reservation due to limited spots. They have good customer service here and great amenities! Feels like a resort in Beaverton!
Fantastic experience: I know Lifetime is opening up nearby, but it's substantially more expensive and I can't imagine it being nicer than Villa Sport. We are a family of 3 and get a lot of use out of the amazing pools and gym and have used the spa as well. I think they are a bit disorganized administratively, but that doesn't take too much from what a great club it is.
Negative experience: Very bad customer service, F grade. Look in BBB website before you try to join them. Never recommend them to anyone. You have no way to contact anyone. Even inside you get the run around. They send you back to email and phone which you don't get any answers, no one returns your call if you leave messages. All they do is to keep charging your card but no one helps you any other way. Uses tactical cancelation policy and will continue charging.
Negative experience: I will no longer advocate the use of these specific facilities because of the negative experiences that I have had, including rude patrons, inaccessible facilities, increased theft, poor security, and high membership dues. These factors have made it difficult for me to have a positive gym experience and have led me to purchase exercise equipment for my own personal use at home. I would absolutely avoid this place. The quality is fairly nice, but good luck getting the time and space to treat yourself to the workout you deserve. It's just not feasible with the high volume of traffic. Save your money and look for something more affordable and equitable to the amount of money you're putting in. Don't be like me and just sign up because it looks nice. Appearance isn't everything, and it's also incredibly difficult to do simple account functions online. Their phone prompts don't even work as they should.
Negative experience: This gym continues to go downhill. I joined when it was being built and it started out so clean and such a high level. The locker rooms and pools are always dirty. Kids are always in the locker rooms and lap swim. There are no rules enforced and unfortunately the members leave are inconsiderate not cleaning up after themselves
Negative experience: This gym is trash. The director of fitness only cares about money not you as a client. Avoid at all costs. Their website also states that childcare is included in your membership but only if you pay for the child for a membership so it’s not included, you actually pay for it. I dropped my son off once while I was working out and I watched them on the tvs set him down and walk away from him and leave him alone not welcoming to him at all. This place is absolute trash. Also their website states it’s a month or month membership but it is not, you have to pay a fee to cancel if before a year. Watch out!
Negative experience: Safety safety safety. So many safety violations. When I brought their incompetence to management they suspended me after writing me up for cleaning. The staff made this nice harassing sign and made fun of me for bringing up safety concerns.
Negative experience: I used to love villa sports but now it’s terrible they accepted way too many people yet the gym is so small. People fight for relaxing chairs in the women section. Child care is horrible our children get neglected it’s very sad and horrible
Negative experience: Evening Staff is so rude literally yelling at members to get out 30-15min before closing. Turning the switch off on the hot tube, steam room and sauna while members are still in them. 30min before closing rudely insisting you get out now ?? Management was told about the rude staff & stated this is Not their policy but it happened the very next night the same rude way. Members are all talking and a lot of people are leaving for the new spa opening in June due to the rude staff here . The rude staff ruins any relaxation you may have hoped to gain.
Negative experience: I had been comming here once in a while, preemptive to getting a membership and staff had always been great but it seems they've hired some gymnerd trash to train staff since my last visit. That's what happens when you let the penny pinchers in, they charge by the hour. Hopefully he heads back to California soon before it falls into the ocean.
Negative experience: Our whole family were members here and had been for years - we cancelled due to lack of availability for Villakids, once they switched to the reservation system it was always booked out & we could never go. What good is the club itself if you can't use it? We switched to Bay Club @ 5 months back and have been super happy. The facilities are much better/cleaner and while childcare is on a reservation system they have enough spots available that we are able to get it when we need to, even last minute sometimes.
Positive experience: Had a membership and really enjoyed the pool area during the summer days. Weights area was clean and never had to wait much for a machine to be free. My only gripe is the cafe was always closed while I was a member.
Fantastic experience: I promise you that you are getting more than your money’s worth here. 1. Excellent fun equipment, beyond the regular stuff you see at most gym. Even within the weights section the machines have variety. You have a lot to pick from. 2. Wonderful swimming pools: this was the biggest selling point for. It was exciting to try outdoor pool. Everything is very clean as well. Many hot tubs. 3. Great use of space in Women’s changing room: I love that spa section has its own hot tub and rest area. 4. Excellent Group Exercise instructors: I have been regular to Betsy’s Monday yoga and I kid you not, she is incredible, her class is very well planned and always with a ton of variety. George for Zumba!!! I was in tears with happiness attending his classes, full of energy and fun. 5. finally my personal trainer Treva- one of the best Pt experiences of my life. Not your typical trainer who will give you the cookie cutter advice. I asked for effective workout combos that I could wrap up in 30 minutes and I learned A LOT. PS- very good crowd. You’d see parents teaching their kids how to lift weights. As a woman I don’t feel weird going into any sections of the gym. It’s very friendly respectful environment. Disclaimer - I am a certified Les mills instructor but retired now and I am not easily sold on many gyms and facilities. This place is class apart.
Negative experience: I use to love this place but it has gone down hill. Lockers don't work, locker rooms are dirty, and trying to leave a membership takes a month and an in person appointment. On top of that, their membership services will not return a phone call.
Negative experience: Not a good experience over the last couple years. Obviously everyone has a bad day or at times things can go wrong which should not always count against a company. BUT I have given VillaSport a long time to build back to the great first impression I had as a new member there years ago. At first they had a nice variety of Tea and other nice amenities in the Locker Room Spa and the service was great and I felt that they had some top notch adults working there which made me feel pretty good at each visit. Since about 2-3 years ago they have stopped offering tea in the locker room spa and they no longer offer the larger "beach towels" and the service goes downhill from there. Here are the main issues I have with VillaSport and why I would rate them so low - 1) poorly trained staff in the front desk who have little to no customer service skills or hospitality training. 2) Lack of above mentioned amenities even though my dues did not go down. 3) Lack of any "adult" employees available to ensure a great experience you would expect from spending upwards of $250-300 per Month for. 4) Many issues with the laundry service, I have had several swim trunks missing and other peoples laundry in my locker as well as a break in. 5) Not maintaining the locker room spa very well. I cant count how many times the chairs have been broken and left in that state as well as the TV's not working and I noticed that every time they replaced the TV in the sauna they failed to clean the glass shield which looks awful as well as the lighting is always too bright or broken bulbs. The bench is broken and in poor condition in the sauna as well. The steam room did not work right for well over a year and now that it has finally been "fixed" it is either way too hot or not enough steam on the two settings they have. When I joined they had tea and nice music playing and the steam room had a nice mint scent, it was very relaxing and now it is more like a high school locker room than a spa. 6) Being a member does not seem to get you any kind of perks on the swimming classes. It seems like that place gets overwhelmed with "guests" that are not members hogging up all the swim lessons and not to mention crowding the lobby and parking lot. Being a member should get you first on the list for swim lessons not just a slight discount which is really not a discount at all considering you pay for your kids to be members. 7) Poor hiring, Villa hired a person that was convicted later of inappropriate behavior with children. I will not go into detail about this because I do not know the results of the court or what this person was actually convicted of. Either way it makes me very scared to enroll my 9 year old daughter in any sort of activity. 8) Security is very poor. My locker (that costs me almost $1,000 per year) was "broken into" a couple weeks ago and my watch and wallet stolen. The main issue I have with this is that my locker was locked and worked fine so I assume that its possible they actually opened it for someone claiming to be me without proper documents. In fact a co worker of mine confirmed this by asking the desk what happened and the girl at the desk said that she thinks they accidently opened a locker belonging to someone to the wrong person.
Fantastic experience: Very nice and clean gym They have indoor and outdoor heater pools. Small water play area for kids. Decent cafe. Slightly expensive membership but worth it if you like to swim especially.
Fantastic experience: Been going here for about an year. Really nice gym and pool facilities. Staff is also very cordial and helpful. Locker rooms are clean and well maintained as well. Gym and pools gets crowded a bit in the evening, so try early morning hours if possible.
Positive experience: Joined in August cancelled in December. We really wanted to like this gym, but in the end we weren’t seeing the value for our money. It didn’t help that the recent remodel took way too long and made it very difficult to use equipment during peak times …. Weight training was all confined to a very small room by the courts. It’s a nice gym, but wasn’t worth the hefty price tag. And there are just too many children running around, especially in the pool areas. I can see this gym being more appealing for families.
Fantastic experience: I love the kids club with great people taking care of my grandchildren while I get my swimming done. They have rotations so they are doing art work, group games, play structure etc. The pools are great! It's so fun to swim outdoors in a warm pool in the winter. But of course you can always swim inside or even take an aqua class. The swimming instructors are doing a great job teaching the 3 and 5 year old to swim. I think it helps that they get to go to the pool often so they are ready to really learn to swim. There is something here for everyone. In the summer you have all the outside waterslides and play structures but there is still an inside structure for the kids all year round. And it's nice to have an adult pool area when you need a break from kids for a while. It's really nice to have the towel service so you don't have to drag wet towels home each day! There are 4 swimming pools, 5 hot tubs, 15 lap lanes, saunas, steam rooms, group classes, weight and exercise areas, cycle classes, basketball court, swim teams. etc. So just about everyone can find something to enjoy! It's very family friendly and a great place to bring my grandchildren. It's so nice to be able to go to a resort type place. I've tried all the gyms in this area and this is by far the best!
Negative experience: Overpriced for the services and product you receive. Pressured sales tactics. Too Massive of a facility housing small pools. Not my thing. Just too much. Extremely busy. Young gentlemen at counter was of no help. Kept insisting me to use the app while I was there in person talking with him. Bye bye.
Negative experience: Car was parked few meters front of the entrance. My window was smashed, and items were stolen inside my car. The gym personnel says they dont have any cameras outside the building which is lame, how come a high end gym don’t have cameras to monitor incidents outside. Also their services are terrible especially swimming which is 4-5 months wait Can’t wait for lifetime fitness to open in hillsboro as it’s 20x better
