Fantastic experience: I have known Mr. Howells for over 30 years, we used to train together in Beaumont before I moved to Naples to open my academy. He is an incredible martial arts instructor who genuinely cares for his students. I have enjoyed watching his students compete at national events over the last two decades and am always impressed with the high level of training they receive. If you are looking for martial arts training in the Beaumont area there is no one I would trust more than Mr. Howells and the staff at Tiger Rock of Beaumont. Mr. Howells is a great instructor, a great guy, and a great friend.

Negative experience: In order to cancel your membership you got to let them know a month in advance because they WILL make you pay a whole month just because, treatment is not great for everyone, this is supposed to be a fun place for our kids which they made it horrible for my daughter. Glad I got my daughter out of here! Would not recommend. These people only care about the money! Answer: she actually is doing pretty awesome at the new place, she just needed a different instructor from the ones at this place, hope you have a great one! And please do better. Kids are not the problem, much less if theyre not being taken care of.

Negative experience: Hi Everyone; My name is Scott and I moved to Texas 3 years ago because of health reasons. So in February 2023, I got clearance from the Doc and started my weight loss journey, I was almost 300 LBS At the time so I started to go to the gym in March, and by June, I was 265 LBS, And I was strong enough to explore other weight loss avenues so, I met Professor Howells at another martial arts school in June and became pretty close with him as a coach, and by the end of June he asked me to visit his DoJo / Martial Arts Academy, so I went to my first class at the end of June! Now fast forward 10 months I started to lose more weight and was at 3rd Green belt and about to test for my blue belt and, one day the kid/s where horsing around and one jumped on my back I put him down on his feet gently no one got hurt and I got yelled at so I apologized next day I got a call saying they are cancelling my membership they said they refund my months family membership and my belt test for 2, whish was about $340 which I never received! now please keep in mind I'm a retired disabled combat veteran on a budget that I saved to get healthy again, now fast forward this month August 2024 a few days ago my family member that was doing it with me and helping me pay half of the cost asks me to see if they can join another tiger rock without me so I went down asked them if that's possible the master said he wouldn't see why not shook my hand with a smile and I left , now today August 30th I get a call from the family member saying that they refuse to let them join because of me and I went to talk to the new tiger rock in Lumberton and the dude said he stands by his word of no I asked why he said safely reasons I was completely shocked I've never hurt a child, 2. I still have a security clearance for volunteering to help vets! So these people are great with kids and there parents, but horrible theves to empty nesters that are just trying to make there lives better and healthier. Now I'm not perfect person or no angel and I always keep my word but not following through on your word or promises of repayment for services I never received and if I wanted to go back they blacklisted me and my hole family from ever going back to any tiger rock, so if you don't have any kids under 17 that can join you, you won't be very welcome there and if you do some parents are very back stabing and 2 face so be careful and watch you 6 there if you, Aren't in the "IN croud" so if you do go do so at your own risk and expect to pay for everything extra belt test, uniforms,they demad or bug the. Hell out of you to do private lessons extra $, gear just about everything is extra only thing is included in monthly membership is group classes with kids 12 and up and I've seen as young as 10 years olds in the adult classes, the last time I checked and adult is 18 years old and older!!!! But what do I know I'm only 44 years old and have been Majority of the world Sincerely! Scott Michael

Positive experience: Here is the reason for not giving a five star. My wife paid our son membership in full. Then we didn't renew due to our new born. We literally told everyone over there in different times that we can't continue. They all recorded that. Now when I check my card activity, I realized that we are charged for two months!.. We tried to call them today a few times yet failed to reach them. Apart from this, we are happy with their service. I hope they will be able to fix this soon.

The owner David took time to explain his background to us and you can tell he is truly passionate about what he does and his students. The entire staff is so friendly and kind and welcoming . My son is very shy and what really meant a lot to me as a parent is to see how Jack made sure my son participated and was not left out. He has a nack for teaching the kids. They truly have a “family type atmosphere” If you’re looking for a place look no further this is it. Update. My son absolutely loves going to Tiger rocks. Ricky and Travis are absolutely amazing with children. I still highly recommend.

Negative experience: Everytime we called about anything it was always a confusion. They aren't on the same page. One of the ladies let me know I wouldn't be charged as long as I came in to sign before a certain date. I did and was still charged $119. When I called to speak with Mr. Howell the owner a different guy took the message and he never called me back nor has anyone else. Very disappointed because my daughter loved it there.

Fantastic experience: I am proud to say that Both of my kids are second degree black belt all because of master Hawell. He taught them how to be strong and face their challenges no matter how hard it seemed and be the best not only in his Academy but in their school.. even at home. I appreciate every minute they spent at his academy. Now my daughter at A&M and my son a high schooler and I think being at tiger rock academy in Beaumont with Master Hawell helped them get to where they are now. Fantastic experience: Personally this place brings back a lot of memories, and I wish I could go back. The instructors are very nice, serious, and they really care for each individual person and it feels like you are part of a huge family because at this place, everyone knows each other and it's a very welcoming environment. Tiger Rock also has a lot of programs that are exciting to attend. My personal favorite was practice in the park. The workouts here vary differently which is good because it's nice to try something new. Instructors like Ms.Wright and Mr. Howells gave me valuable lessons over the three years I was there and good workouts. There is something for everyone here and I love training and exercise that this place brings, along with the friendships made here because at this place everyone sticks together. -Shaun Tran
