Negative experience: This gym would be great if it wasn’t for the extremellyyyyyy loud music. My goodness it is soooo loud I can’t even hear my own music when I have my headphones on max volume. Especially when trying to do the stair master which is right under a speaker, forget about it. It’s terrible.
Positive experience: I enjoy the gym and Silver Sneakers class with Kimberely She is the best My sons girlfriend was my guest and I paid 65 dollars that I believe was for the month 2 days before she left for the Navy they wouldn't let her stay just an hour I thought that was heartless. She is in boot camp training to protect this country and she couldn't stay an hour without being charged at Unique Awful

Fantastic experience: Hands Down one of the best Gyms I have been to. Place is clean and staff it friendly. The Suna is the Best
Negative experience: Gym is clean with plentiful of equipment but the one thing i can’t wrap my head around is that I’m paying 35+ a month for a gym membership that doesn't have a water fountain is diabolical.
Fantastic experience: Excellent variety equipment great for bodybuilding or beginners spacious gym area with a second floor one of the better gyms within 10 miles the counter staff and personal trainers are friendly the cleaners and maintenance crew are always doing work.

Fantastic experience: I’m really happy with my experience with Unique. I’ve been to each site and they are all great in different ways but my home gym is Shirley and I always look forward to going. The staff are so personable and always have a smile on. Popular equipment is in multiple spots making it easier to use those machines. Things really feel leveled up from going to any old chain gym membership.

Positive experience: Hey folks. Been attending the gym for several years now and for the most part it's been pretty well organized and clean, and the staff seems knowledgable and friendly. The one thing that's increasingly irritating at the location is the volume of the music played there. I frequently wear earbuds at the gym to listen to podcasts or my own playlists but the second I walk in the door all I can hear is the gym music blaring loudly throughout the space. I've actually observed the desk staff needing to hold their ears while speaking on the phone because it's so loud in there sometimes. I've even tried using cans while working out and while they work a little bit better than earbuds, my head sweats while I exercise and the headphone pads end up getting pretty saturated and gross. I don't even have an issue with the kinds of music being played, though it would be nice if there was a little more variety than the typical Drake and Kanye playlists. The main issue is that the volume is distractingly loud, and it does take away from my experience while working out in the location. I absolutely realize that some ambience and music is great in a workout space, but when I walk in the door, the volume frequently feels more like a spot in Patchogue on Saturday night than a gym. Aside from that, I usually enjoy my experience at Unique. But often the music is just too much.

Negative experience: This gym is plagued with "influencers" taking photos both on the gym floor and IN THE BATHROOM. Even worse, these influencers informed me that this gym gives them PERMISSION to take photos in the bathroom. Imagine walking into the showers to find a woman with her phone on a tripod shooting images of her booty IN THE SHOWER as if the bathroom belongs to her Imagine needing to pee , but to get to the stall, you have to walk in front of a phone on a tripod in the middle of the bathroom where she is shooting videos of her posing.... right in front of the changing area and the toilets !!! The gym seems to encourage these bathroom photo shoots because they consistently post photos on their social media pages that their members took inside the gym bathrooms. By all means though, if you enjoy being photographed with or without your clothes on thanks to an Influencer needing to post her boody gains ... join this place.

You did however continue to message us with other comments but have ignored our attempts to meet to discuss. Therefore, while we agree that the world of selfies and influencers has increased dramatically in recent years, we must address some of the misrepresentations in your review. Fantastic experience: One of the best gyms by far but biggest issue even with remodel is how downstairs dumbbells go up to around 140 with two adjustable benches and only go up to 50 upstairs with 7 benches. At least add 2-3 more benches downstairs or make the dumbbells go up to 80 upstairs. Also they should add back the easy curl bars back upstairs. 10/10 on cleanness most of the time
HI Andrew- thanks for your message. Injust a few more days the downstairs area will be receiving some upgrades INCLUDING multiple new adjustable benches, an additional Olympic flat and incline bench, more cable cross units and new bumper plates! Alot of upgrades taking place- so stay tuned!

Positive experience: I visit the gym for the spin classes. Instructors have always been very good and they make you work harder than you thought you could. I really enjoyed my spin class with Roy. He was excellent; please bring him back in the fall.

Fantastic experience: OH HELLLL NAH. These negative reviews are crazy spam. THIS GYM IS THE BEST GYM IN SUFFOLK COUNTY. The gym is always being cleaned by staff. Never crowded when I go (5am-10am). The steam room is perfect. You need to play out a schedule since this gym is big and everyone knows gyms get PACKED when everyone gets out of work after 5PM. Planet fitness has homeless people going in for showers. Sportstime in Quogue is outdated and for old people. Southampton gym is far and not functional. Eastport gym is old and outdated. These gyms for the same price gets you personal training sessions at unique. 10/10 love it here and love the boot camp training classes with Caesar!

Negative experience: This is a niche gym; not for everyone. My second day here. This morning the biggest monster in the gym (very very enhanced) threw a little guy across 2 treadmills next to me who got in his way. This all happened directly in front of the front desk. Nobody said a thing (certainly not me lol). And what CAN you say. Who’s gonna try and “throw” one of these giant angry guys out for minimum wage. There’s a lot of normal gyms around. Give yourself a gut check if you have the testosterone for this environment before making a long-term commitment. I’m from Mastic so I’ll survive. Head down and stay out of peoples way. It’s a fine gym outside of that. I mean, there’s no water fountain, but there’s 175 flatscreen TV’s and they will sell you water, or you can get it from the bathroom sink lol.

Negative experience: Probably the most disgusting gym you can find in Suffolk. Overly crowded - even if you try to avoid the crowd and go at not busy times you’ll get to feel the odors and sweat of people who were there right before you because they don’t circulate the air inside. Sauna is always packed with 10-12 men looking outside to not make it weird. Only positive is the shake bar and the hours. Machines are good also but everything is stinking musty. Worse than planet fitnesses in NYC. I hope they figure out how to open windows soon
Negative experience: I was told I owe $640 to the gym after a long time away and the reason they gave was that I set up auto pay. I know that I definitely cancelled my membership before I left, I wouldn't just stop going without cancelling. On top of that it's a bogus excuse anyway because when you setup auto pay with any other company and you miss a payment they take away your service, they don't keep adding to your bill for later. I literally didn't go to the gym one single day during the time they were charging me.
Fantastic experience: Great service, great equipment fun classes they even have personal trainers if you're going to try anything I would definitely come to this place. They have everything your body needs including healthy drinks and food.

Negative experience: Place is always ridiculously packed. 8pm and you can't get on. Mostly kids and no one respects between sets. Rather sit on cell phones while you wait. Been coming here for 3yrs, looking to bounce.

Fantastic experience: Unique Fitness has all you need for thorough workout. Free weights. Universal gyms. Yoga. Stretching. Punching bags. Treadmills galore. MMA stuff. And if you check with health insurance carrier the monthly may be covered.
Negative experience: Crowded. Unclean. Limited/ small selection of classes. Classrooms are closed so you can't use that space without the subpar instructors they hire. Have fun doing Yoga and stretching on top of everyone. No water fountains. No cleaning fluid. They say they can't offer all of their amenities due to covid- even though they don't use covid guidelines. The whole second floor shakes if even one person is on the treadmill. Horrible parking lot. A man followed me out of the gym and to my car and the staff said they can't do anything about it. Overpriced for outdated machines, poor service, no access to full amenities. Credit car fraud on my friend's account months after closed membership. Manager avoids customers and has front desk people do the talking for them. Front desk is inattentive and have no real purpose there. Smoothie bar is never open because of "issues" and machines are missing parts- yet there is a service fee everyone pays to prevent these things. Worst gym I've ever been a member of but also the most expensive. LA Fitness, Planet Fitness, Golds.. you name it. They're ALL better. Its sad cuz this gym could be so much better if they offered the bare minimum and actually included the things you're already paying for.

Fantastic experience: When you step into this gym it gives you a burst of energy right off the back. The amount of equipment,free weights, MMA Cage, Boxing Set-up, Wrestling room, beats any gym that i have ever gone too. If you go ask for Chris Cope - Trainer, he's the man that will set you up give you a tour and basically give you a introduction to the facility. Don't get me wrong the prices might a tad moderate, but the facility and trainers make you feel absolutely welcomed. If your looking to get back into shape and find a tad of motivation the classes are amazing and will get you to where you need to be by the end of the year. 5 STARS i rate it......

Fantastic experience: The facility itself is exceptional; I haven't been to any gym yet that comes close to offering what Unique does. Couple that with a friendly and welcoming staff and it's a dream come true. I drag my friends from all over the island to come to Unique with me. 10/10, I absolutely love this place.

Fantastic experience: If you love spin classes Jennica is your girl. Monday at 6:00pm. Playlist is always Michelle on Wednesday 6:00pm and if you like Zumba Maritza class is at 6:30 on Wednesday. Kim class on Saturday is awesome too. I appreciate management changing the time of the spin class. 10 starts to the cleaning crew in special to Geovanna ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ MANAGEMENT: I would love to see more clases on the afternoon there really nothing on Tuesday, Thursday’s and Friday’s.

Negative experience: One star because they over charge and have old outdated machines. No arm bike (every physical therapist and other gym I have been to has an arm bike) they play music like Justin Bieber while you're trying to workout. They have no water fountains because they want you to buy their water. They don't clean the facility well. Unless you need the sauna I recommend planet fitness lol

Why because No Mgt Action w street painted sign + front door sign telling all May 2022 . Common sense and Respect for Other Gym Members . ==== Desk mgt has been told by many others folks which was overheard on gym floor. Now today, we see it again . This way through NEEDS a mgt PAINTED street sign .. NO PARKING IN DRIVEWAY .. AT TOP AND THEN AT BOTTOM AT FRONT DOOR . PLS stop these illegal parkers rushing to park near Front door. Fantastic experience: Love this gym. I'm only in Shirley very occasionally but every time I am in town, this gym is my go-to. Good vibes, good music choice, primary lifting area is surrounded by like-minded people who actually care about their physiques so minimal amount of people screwing around. Good selection of equipments, only complaint is that the Hammer Strength Pullover isn't very good as it forced you to start at too extreme of a stretch without a pedal to get the movement going. A standing Lateral Raise would also be a fantastic addition to the gym.

Negative experience: First I have to say the place smells people that go there stink and they don’t clean up the equipment good enough men’s locker room smells like BO. It’s disgusting all the machines are on top of each other do you get overwhelmed looking around to find a machine to work on people are rude I recommend to stay away from this place very unprofessional

Negative experience: Protein Bar is always closed lately due to equipment issues. Equipment is frequently down or missing parts. Yet they charge a maintenance fee. Gym sucks period!!

After speaking with our team, it seems you had originally wanted information on a different membership type, NOT the Flextyme, and you were quoted the joining price for that membership. Also, it was written down for you to take with you for your review. When you came back, you then inquired for a Flextyme membership, which is a completely different type of membership and has a different price point. We welcome you to come back and work it out with us, but we want to make sure you are clear on the options available. We look forward to serving you soon.
Negative experience: Even after canceling my membership and numerous back and forth emails. This gym keeps trying to fraudulently charge my credit card. Definitely unethical behavior which I’ll be reporting to the appropriate authorities.

I'm paying $40 per month and can never finish my workout bc half the people are not wearing A MASK! When I report it they are slow to respond. I even saw a staff member talking with a customer who had NO MASK ON! I don't expect them to monitor every single person bc that's impossible. But when 20-30 ppl have their mask on their chin instead of their mouths, that's a safety problem for those of us who care about our lives. I love this gym so I will try to go at times when it's least crowded so I can have more space and a peace of mind. FOLLOW-UP The mgr saw this review and called me to rectify my concerns. I appreciated that. I explained that I had to sound an alarm with a bad review in order to bring awareness to recurring problem. She stated that there has been a issue with her staff not reporting customer concerns but that she will take the appropriate measures to ensure safety standards within the facility and rectify staff reporting issues. She put me at ease by actively listening to me. Great leadership skills!

Fantastic experience: A clean, family friendly gym (they have day care!). It gets busy at the usual after-work hours, but it is well worth it. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful, and the fellow gym users are also welcoming. I have been to some gyms where it can be very intimidating, but I did not feel that at all here. Definitely try the classes as well!

Negative experience: Been coming here a while now after Covid19 I wasn't comfortable coming during the pandemic going on. I was first told I could freeze my account to see if things got better then. Well it didn't. I'm still not comfortable going to a gym and I was charged a $140 cancelation fee. Which is really annoying considering there is a pandemic going on you think they wouldn't charge that high of a cancelation fee. I would have re joined when things got better, but now I'm never going back. Very disappointed with how the handled that.

We are doing our best to make sure our policies are fair to both our members, as well as us as a business. Upon reopening from COVID, we gave our members the option to cancel or freeze their accounts free of charge for a span of 6 weeks. We have been extending our option to freeze accounts due to the pandemic as a way to ensure our members are comfortable when they return and that pricing does not change when they resume their memberships. We have also been transparent with our cancellation policies that are on the agreement signed when joining. Positive experience: I have been coming to Unique Fitness for about 7 years. I am active duty military and I only come to this gym when I am home visiting because it is local and reliable. There has been a significant price increase even before COVID struck for a day pass. The amenities available at this location are not worth paying $20 a day for a facility that does not even have water fountains. I have left a review about a year ago stating how the patrons do not re-rack their weights nor do they sanitize their equipment after use. The front desk attendants are also inattentive. As an everyday gym-goer it is expensive to attend Unique Fitness everyday without a membership, considering I am only attending the gym when I am home in New York which is usually for about a week at a time. I love going to this gym but the pricing for the day pass at least for military and first responders should be discounted especially during these times when first responders/military/law enforcement officials have tumultuous schedules.

Negative experience: The ridiculous amount of times this gym changes pricing and doesn’t tell anyone about it is hilarious. Although we’re signed up for email notifications there is literally no notice of any changes made to anything. Not worth the money they’re asking for. Will be going to any other place.

Negative experience: I want to start with saying that the lady behind the counter was really nice. I gave it one star because when Corona came around and no one was able to go to the gym anymore, I called them to try to cancel half a dozen times over a month. Left voicemails and no one ever answer the phone. I was about to get billed again and couldn't afford it cuz I lost my job due to the corona situation, so I stopped payment with my credit card. Today they got back to me to tell me I owed them money and had to come in person if I wanted to cancel, which I understand to cancel a contract. So I came down to canceled and I told them I haven't been here since the corona situation shut down the gym, but they insisted on charging me anyway. I understand why so I paid. But then they charged me for an additional month because I didn't give them 30 days notice that I'm going to cancel. That's a real sleazy tactic for getting money. Never coming back here again.

Negative experience: Signed up in January, then the pandemic hit. Had my membership put on hold & went in today to cancel my membership as indoor gyms are still high risk for contracting COVID. I was charged $140 cancelation fee (refunded this month's membership) despite the ongoing pandemic, only to be told they stopped waiving cancelation fees on the 1st. If they can spam my mailbox with promos then they should've sent out a letter communicating their change in policy and dates, especially given the circumstances. Very disappointed and will not be rejoining if & when indoor gyms become lower risk. I'd rather save my membership fees & build a home gym or find an outdoor setting.

Negative experience: They are after your money they now charge without even notifying their members a 50 dollar membership fee and then an additional 45 for a monthly fee. The gym isn't worth all that money I bought a gift certificate for someone and it was the worst mistake every DO NOT GO TO THIS GYM . The person I bought it for had to pay 50 dollars before even allowed to use the gift certificate gym is a rip off No Stars

Fantastic experience: I have been doing kickboxing and mma for about 7 months. Chris is an excellent coach, Along with kristian. Its great how the different classes don’t compete but cross train. It really shows that these guys care about their srudents and want them to achieve their goals. If you want some great training to compete or just get in shape with some great people this is the place. Also the pricing is the best you can get. No other gyms offer classes from former UFC and gokden glove competitors for this price.

Fantastic experience: Great staff, boxing & kick boxing coaches are great. Equipment is in optimal condition with enough training space. Good for weight and crossfit training. Clean bathrooms and enough parking place. Would recommend a water fountain if possible.

She is thin, enthusiastic, helpful, and very motivating! What a terrific role model for those of us who really need a good, regular workout! The sound system rocks, and we all had a great time in this lovely, large, air-conditioned studio. Men and women can profit from this fun dance exercise. Check it out!
Fantastic experience: Is not one of but the best gym on the Island. State of the art equipment, with a owner and staff to match. There is absolutely nothing I would Change about this gym. All there prices are great if you want a regular membership, or a advanced membership including classes. In my opinion they don't charge enough. Come down see for yourself
