Species Gym Baytown

Fantastic experience: I love the vibes and environment of this gym! It’s literally an amazing community of people motivated to accomplish their personal health goals. The entire staff is awesome which is a bonus! Plus, the convenience of being able to get a post-workout shake afterwards is the cherry on top. Highly recommend this gym! A++

Fantastic experience: I normally go to the Texas City location but being as this location is closer to work I started going here. Tons and tons of equipment and it's 24 hours what more could you ask for?

Fantastic experience: In town visiting family and bought a few 24 hr passes. First off, I like that they offer 24 hour passes rather than day passes so you can workout as much as you want (or can) within 24 hours. Just a better value than a “day pass”. No fancy bells or whistles just iron and hard work. Enjoyed how they have two areas: one with AC and one without. Cardio equipment outside isn’t the best but there are two other areas that have plenty of cardio machines. Equipped with individual saunas and beautiful locker rooms! Will definitely return when I visit this side of town again.

Fantastic experience: Species gym in Baytown is incredible. Old school feel. Tons of equipment and space. Facilities like bathroom and entry way are clean. They offer a ton of amenities! Drink machine and snack machine. Environment is great for beginners or advanced lifters. One of the best spots to train at for everyone .

Positive experience: New to the area, absolutely love the vast majority of equipment and open space. Incredible atmosphere, been lifting for 10 years, However the music they were playing was loud with trashy secular lyrics, good thing I got headphones though

Fantastic experience: New to Baytown, yet training at this gym has made my move here wonderful! The environment is unequivocally designed to push the dedicated lifter to definite growth. The gym has all the equipment one needs, and enough space to welcome anyone. The "old wing" is especially vitalizing, as it has open air access, a high ceiling, a great speaker, and a large overhead fan to keep airflow alive. The windows are kept clean, and the gym also has a locker room with showers. The staff is welcoming and loving, and the gym is designed to excel in all areas. The gym also offers a large, indoor area with a powerful AC that keeps the space cool. This area also has all the equipment any individual could need, including a large turf area and boxing rink. This is a wonderful gym, and I highly recommend it!

Fantastic experience: Love how spacious it is. This is my stop by gym when I’m in town to visit my parents. Love the lighting. And machines. Although, you have to have a fob or something to get in. I think. I have had to call to let me in. But I like the gym.

Fantastic experience: Was in the Baytown area for work and was in search of a good warehouse gym came across species gym and made myself and my wife a membership. We enjoyed the atmosphere at this location and enjoyed it even more knowing that they had a daycare facility for our three babies.! it is always a pleasure, knowing that theres a place where we feel comfortable and trusting enough to have out kids with us in a child care facility while we get in a great workout! Overall species gym and little legends was great and we’re looking forward to returning again when we have a chance!

Fantastic experience: Hands down the best gym in Baytown. This is also my favorite gym through out Texas that I’ve come across. It has a enormous variety of gym equipment to use. If you get tired of one gym you can always just go the other side haha!! This is place is a athletes paradise. Giving 5 stars is disingenuous this place deserves 10!!!!!

Fantastic experience: I’ve been coming to species since they’ve opened to now. This place has been my home gym for YEARS now. I personally love the atmosphere & the owners are some of the most understanding & supportive people I’ve come across. In terms of the atmosphere everyone is pretty chill & cool about working out as long as you’re respectful of each others space and the equipment they’re using. Also the gym is constantly improving! Overall a very nice place to workout compared to other gyms I’ve been to!

Positive experience: First visit and got a day pass. The good: Equipment is up to date and there is more than one of almost everything so there's not much waiting for someone or working in with a stranger. It's spaced out pretty well so you have room to move around. Pretty clean for a highly-used warehouse gym. Looks like they wouldn't mind me bringing the chalk on my heavy days. The bad: Basically the customer service feel of the place was kind of rude. No clear indication of where the main entrance is. Said as much to the front desk staff and their response suggested I was unobservant. Signage taped on things suggested it was the members' fault that things weren't as convenient as they might like (see pictures). Loud gangster rap playing while a kids boxing class was going on in the same room. Not exactly age appropriate. Bathroom was damaged and missing supplies. Not sure I'll be coming back here.

Fantastic experience: "Fitness is like a relationship. You can't cheat & expect it to work". This is one of Baytown's best gym & quite possibly one of the best in Houston. Without overstating the obvious; Species Gym has a nostalgia vibe reminiscent of the Golden era of bodybuilding. With an ensemble cast of respectful professionals & highly motivated staff members; you really can't go wrong. With a rugged yet eclectic interior design scheme; it's not overly-saturated & distracting, but just the right amount of tone & slightly nuanced. Very spacious without having to feel to crowded with all the equipment you'll ever need to reach your goals. In conclusion; you would be naive not to give Species Gym a try. Experience a place with such an engaging environment plus the added incentive of helpful, enthusiastic & caring members makes Species Gym the pinnacle of excellence.

Fantastic experience: Great gym, reminds me of the gyms I worked out in when I was growing up. Equipment from the past are like an old school Lincoln LTE..run thru a brick wall get thru the scratches won't be any dents...SOLID

Some of the machines could use a little maintenance and it would be great to see maybe just a couple more pieces of cardio equipment but that doesn't take away from the positives Species has to offer. Plenty of space, well ventilated and lots of machines and free weights offer the hardcore lifter a great place to train. I really like this gym and this feels like a great place for a competitor.

Fantastic experience: Really friendly atmosphere and a nice range of class times to meet a variety of scheduling needs. The coaches definitely meet you where you're at and do their best to make everyone feel welcome, not to mention fun incentives throughout the year!

Fantastic experience: The BEST gym on the east side of Houston, and definitely a top 5 out of all of Houston. This place has everything you could possibly need, and if they don't, I assure you they're already working on getting it. Extremely professional and friendly group of people running the gym, not just another "gym bro" trying to sell you a membership.
