Fantastic experience: Love this place; member at what is now Crunch Cicero too. Not nearly as packed, forces you to focus with simple offerings. When I joined, was charged twice on accident; I think the owner herself caught it and had it fixed for me. Always a class to get into, the pool and sauna are well maintained, and they’re updating the A/C and heating right now. Always clean, and nice hours; so many trainers available if you need coaching. My only complaint is that I’m writing this during my morning workout, and usually at this time some guy is walking around thinking he’s drake; yelling his raps louder than my earbuds. Like you can’t film; wish there was a rule about not trying to outdo the radio. Overall this gym is great, choosing a focus on basic offerings over being flashy.

Positive experience: Decent gym, a lot is included in the membership (access to group classes and the pool). They've been updating some machines lately which is nice, though I wish there was more focus on updating things in the free weights area (eg, new benches - adjustable ones would be great!; updating the older squat racks would be nice too - especially would love the ones that are coupled with a deadlift platform!) The set up around the gym is a little disorganized but once you find everything it's fine. Staff is super friendly too. Occasionally there can be a wait for equipment if you go at a busy time, but I tend to just go at less busy times instead (though not everyone has that luxury).

Fantastic experience: I have been going to champions for about 5 months now, I absolutely love it! Great space, good equipment and friendly welcoming people, my only issue is that for the 5 months I have been there I only got to use the sauna once or twice, it's always out of order :C

Positive experience: Edit #2 they have fixed the humidity issue finally! Edit- for the past two months this gym has been an absolute sauna. I'm not sure what changed but now every gym visit is pretty uncomfortable. Humid and HOT. I really like this place. Even when it's busy it's manageable because of its size. Most gyms in the area feel a lot smaller. Lots of regulars who are mostly good to be around. It also has a lot of different specialty areas so you can basically do anything you're interested in. The downside is obviously the equipment. There's been some new additions over the years for sure but some stuff has been really slowly updated. You feel this the most with some of their cable machines. Those should always be first when upgrading. Newer cable equipment feels 100x better than some of their dinosaurs. Overall I think this place is worth it for many types of people. The price is fair currently considering the variety, even if most of the equipment is old in my opinion. I'm not sure how much longer they'll be able to get away with it though.

Fantastic experience: After going to planet fitness and then blink for a few years, I’m glad I settled on going to champions. The staff were really nice when I started and everyone was really helpful when I started taking the group fitness classes that were completely out of my realm. The community that champions is, keeps you going back. Lots of space, cardio, weights and the gym even has a pool and sauna. It’s definitely worth it to check the gym out!

Fantastic experience: I've been going to Champions for 6 years now. The staff is always friendly and there's plenty of equipment for me to choose from when I go in to workout. I also like the fact that most of the group fitness classes are included with my membership. The members that belong to Champions come in all shapes, sizes and ages which it makes it a comfortable atmosphere for everyone. It's a gym that encourages everybody to work hard and be the best version of themselves. I give Champions Fitness Center 2 thumbs up!

Negative experience: I went there with determination to join but decided not to after seeing the weight equipment and locker room. The weights are pretty outdated. The locker room feels cram even without anyone and banged up. They do have lots of equipment but spread out like a rate maze. The people that are there mostly are buffed so they may be a source of inspiration. If the equipment are newer and the setting is spread out in a normal fashion, this would be a great place for what they are trying to achieve.

Fantastic experience: Great gym, awesome employees, nice members, very clean environment, cardio machines are upstairs out of view of the downstairs gym-goers if you prefer not to have people staring at you while you run and sweat. Has a pool, a sauna, a jacuzzi, a steam room and for a extra few bucks as month you can tan. Tons of free weights and machines.

You can pay per class if you aren't sure about joining, I am sure you will want to after trying one. You can also get personal training by many talented instructors!

Fantastic experience: Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Christy helped me figure out a personal training plan that fit my budget. My trainer, Steve, made it a point to make sure my bad knee wasn’t in pain. If it was, he would first check my form and then modify the workout to fit my needs. I appreciated the attention and focus given to my previous injuries. The facilities and equipment always kept clean and sanitized, and it’s very spread out which is great.

Their experienced instructors offer a variety of fitness classes for all levels, and they keep us motivated! Their members are friendly, kind, and helpful to anyone looking for moral support in a new class, or looking for where they might find specific equipment. Fantastic experience: I've been a member for three days. I'm here, if anything, to balance out the bad reviews. People are upset because they are locked into a monthly payment or issues with the facility... everything is clearly laid out when you join. Before I signed I was given a very thorough tour and offered free one day access. Since then, I have enjoyed going. The members are so pleasant as are the staff. Tons of equipment and a lot of specialized stuff you don't see at the other gyms. I'm very happy with my decision.

What I think really sets Champions apart from other gyms is their fantastic personal training staff. I've had a great experience with Jennifer. She is great! This is literally one stop for your fitness and medical needs! There is a pool, spa, sauna, gym, daycare and they have onsite chiropractic care, massage and physical therapy to meet your medical needs as well. This makes it easy to find time to take care of your needs and also get in a work out! I highly recommend this gym for your New Years Resolution!

Fantastic experience: This is the place for all-around fitness! I've been a member since 1997 and wouldn't join anywhere else. There's a variety of group classes for all levels of fitness from beginner to expert. The staff is energetic, friendly and knowledgeable. They are constantly making improvements to the equipment and atmosphere. And there's a pool with personal aquatic training now!

Fantastic experience: The swim instructor taught practical strokes. She made swimming fun and less intimidating for my son!

Positive experience: This is my first gym membership and i'm really happy i picked champions. They have lots of equipment and friendly staff that make you feel welcomed. I like that after a hard workout session i can cool off in the pool and relax in the hotub and sauna. The lady that gave me a tour and a great deal to me and my girlfriend was named kelly and she is extremely nice .My only complaints would be that the steam room smells horrible and looks disgusting, like the longest i've been able to stay in there is like 5 sec before i start to gag that has to be a health hazard. And a few times i go to go swimming when the schedule clearly states open swim there are children swim lessons going on. Overall a great gym will most likely renew my 12 month membership when it ends and would recommend to others

Fantastic experience: This post is in response to one by Maria Iannolo. I believe that I'm familiar with the incident you're referring to as I was present that day and assisted no less than three members of Champions staff in providing emergency care to your loved one. Myself and at least two other first responders who who were at the gym also came to help. I was with your loved one within seconds of him being found and I assessed his condition and the situation and saw that staff was already on the phone with 911 and an AED was being brought to his location. I checked his pulse and found it to be strong and observed that his skin was hot to the touch most likely due to him staying in the sauna to long, despite posted warnings on time limits and people with pre-existing conditions utilizing it. To say that he was in there for an hour undiscovered is a false statement as staff regularly check the pool and sauna area, and how do you know it was an hour if he awoke in an ambulance ? I also spoke to your loved one numerous times after this incident and he freely accepted responsibility for staying in the sauna to long and he was grateful for all that was done for him and never had a bad thing to say. I have one question for you regarding this post. Why after several months have you decided to write a negative review, do you have an ulterior motive ? I know if I believed someone wronged a loved one of mine as soon as I knew they were okay I would have addressed the situation with them directly not through a Google review.

Negative experience: The staff do not monitor people in the pool and sauna area. My family member required admission to Upstate after passing out in the sauna for an hour. Another gym member discovered him unconscious in the sauna after an hour. Thank you for finding him! He awoke in an ambulance. Be cautious while using the gym.

Negative experience: The place is great. But they guy that sold me the gym membership would call once a week trying to sell me this or that. They're worse than a telemarketer. I had to cancel my membership to get away from the hell of being called during dinner every week. Sad, I like to support local jobs. But this was insane.

Negative experience: The only reason I joined the gym was for the pool since I also have a membership with planet fitness so I didn't mind paying the $30 a month for use of the pool but you can only use the pool when not being used for classes n guess what everytime I went there was a water class going on so I hardly ever even used the pool.the locker room is way too small and the lockers about the size of a p.o.box.

Positive experience: Needs some work inside. Dressing rooms need to be cleaned and updated. Showers are dirty near the floor. And when a class is going on upstairs it sounds like they are going to come crashing the the floor. On the plus side they have a pool and a hot tub.

Negative experience: I’ll call and ended my contract and continued to withdraw money from my account

Positive experience: I think, as a senior, I find the staff friendly and welcoming. It's nice to be greeted by name when I arrive. The facility has a variety of equipment, from weight machines and stationary bikes to jump ropes and slam balls. There are all sorts of classes. I opted for a trainer who designed a program that took into account my back problems and ability. Jen changes my program to challenge me on a regular basis. I'm glad I chose Champions Fitness for my gym.

The whole staff is amazing and the club is constantly looking for ways to improve the features and amenities for all it's members. If power lifting is your thing there is a section for that! If you are into classes they have more classes than you can possibly imagine! Looking to make a lifestyle change and loose the 25+ pounds they have the best trainer's to get you to those goals! I have been a member since 2002 and have worked for the Champion's family on 4 different occasions for a combined time of about 4 years.

Fantastic experience: This is by far the best gym I have ever belonged to (and trust me ive worked my way around the gym circuit) The staff and other members are some of the nicest people out there. Such a wide variety of types of people working out for so many different reasons, you never have to feel self conscious. The equipment is in good shape. There are classes for all sorts of things.... And a sauna! Staff are super friendly and helpful, and not to mention they have a child care area. Chapions is a great gym!

Fantastic experience: I am a new member. I love the water aerobics classes! Everyone there is very friendly. There is a diverse group of individuals that frequent the club, so you don't have to feel like you need to be at a certain level of fitness to feel comfortable there.

Negative experience: Expensive, older equipment, and generally not the cleanest. Some of the treadmills were not working for months when I was working out there. When you sign up for a membership, the initiation fee is really high. Then 29.99 a month. Then they offer you a "free fitness assessment" with one of their trainers which turns out to be them just trying to sell you personal training sessions. What a way to treat your new customers. I submitted a written notice that I would like to cancel my membership because they require a one month notice to suck everything out of you they can. Two months later and I'm still getting charged. I'm not impressed with Champions. I would love to give more business to a local place like this but they just don't treat people right.

Fantastic experience: This facility is great.

Negative experience: Lacking basic equipment that other gyms have, such as a fixed straight/curl bar set. Equipment they do have is extremely outdated, as are televisions. I frequently hear other members complaining about management’s lack of response to broken equipment. For example, a handicap lift in the pool area has been out of service for some time now. The gym needs to maintain this equipment to remain ADA compliant and apparently that isn’t enough to motivate them to stay on top of things. With some serious updates, this could be a 4+ star facility. In its current state, I would suggest others look elsewhere first.

Negative experience: This place is horrible. Old equipment. Locker rooms are never cleaned. Employees are horrible at their jobs and very rude. Hurt my back tried cancelling my membership they refuse to cancel it so I removed my card from their use. Now trying to tell me I owe them 880 dollars

Fantastic experience: This place is awesome and always there to make sure your needs are met ,the staff go out of there way to make sure your experience is a good one.Love it so much just wish there was more evening classes for cardio splash and h2O circuit like Wednesday ,Friday and sat EVENING classes.

Negative experience: Inconvenient hours here. Also, equipment and TVs are out of date. Staff is annoying as well. Border line harassed my girl friend to join until she told them off. Be careful signing a membership, read the fine details! You will be locked into the membership unless you move or are injured and provide proof. Really? What a pathetic excuse for a fitness center. Just want people's money and are shady. Save your money and go elsewhere where you will at least get what you pay for. Very unprofessional place.

Positive experience: Pretty good, a few machines need fixing and they aren't good about showing you how to use all the equipment. They seem a bit annoyed I didn't want to buy personal trai ing sessions. It was a rather high pressure sales pitch

Fantastic experience: I have been a member of Champions Fitness Center for almost 16 years. The Center has changed over time, all in positive ways. The staff/trainers are all very friendly, knowledgeable and motivating. The Center is like a second home for my family. We take advantage of the many classes that are offered with the membership, as well as the daycare area. Keep up the great work!

Fantastic experience: Best fitness center ever!! I have been a member of other centers that go out of business but not Champions..I have been a member for many years and it just keeps getting better and better there. Love the women's only work out and cardio rooms. The staff is super and very friendly and helpful. Love that they offer a pool, dry sauna and Jacuzzi and the steam rooms are in the women's and men's locker rooms. They also offer a number of fitness classes. Come on down and check them out..your going to love it there!!!

Fantastic experience: Champion's Fitness Center is changing our life. It is a wonderful facility, with super friendly staff! We have beed members for a couple of months, and I'm sure now that we'll always be members for as long as we live here. My husband and I, although we have different fitness goals, are able to work with our trainer together. That is a big plus for us and when we are not training, we are able to follow the workout she has written. I highly reccamend trying Champion's when looking for a gym. It has been a blessing! :)

After my workouts I always feel invigorated and walk out with a smile at champions fitness! I began working out here several years ago and have tried othe gyms but nothing compares and I always end up back here!

Fantastic experience: I have been a member at champions for the past 3 years and have found that this is a great gym to workout at. I have a personal trainer, Dan G. who has been my mentor and has helped me meet my goals. He is wonderful and always caring. He motivates me everyday to help keep me in the best possible shape. You can come into the gym and just do your workout without the hassels of waiting for equipment. They also have great classes avaliable to all members to meet their needs. I think that they have the best personal trainers in the area. Love this fitness Center.

Fantastic experience: Champions has alot to offer with a pool, sauna, hot tub and steam rooms. Not only that but the variety of machines and cardio equipment is great. The classes are loved by a lot of the other members also. Can't comment about the classes myself. Glad to belong here. The staff has always been very good too me also. Answers all my questions!!

Fantastic experience: If you're looking for a place to work out, where there aren't a lot of lug heads, a place where there are a ton of classes in addition to the general gym equipment, this is the place for you! I train with Christy (who is AHHHHMAZING) twice a week and I go in on the other days to do my cardio and strength. The members are friendly, the facility is always clean, and I never feel uncomfortable working out. Every single staff member is knowledgable, helpful and fun! The sauna is also a bonus! Five stars are well deserved!!!

Fantastic experience: I have had a membership for over a year. The gym is clean, the staff are always happy to help, and the equipment is in great working order. There are separate workout rooms for women if you prefer and there are many classes to pick from. The pool is beautiful and often empty! Pretty satisfied with my membership!! Highly recommend!! Fantastic experience: One of the best places in the area! The Sauna and Steam room are just an added bonus to the already great workout facility. Friendly and helpful staff go the extra mile to make you feel welcome. I would highly recommend this for seasoned lifters and beginners alike.

Fantastic experience: I have been going there since April 2016. Being 53 years old and have been away from the gym for approximately 27 years Champions has just what I need. It is a quit gym to work out at. They have a great staff working there and they also offer many programs that fit your personal needs. The members I have met are very friendly. If you are into cross fit or want to try cross fit , this gym also has a nice cross fit program with very well trained instructors to assist you. If your looking for a nice gym I would recommend this gym.

Fantastic experience: I absolutely love the staff and the fitness center! They have many machines available and are always willing to help with questions that you may have. I had Jennifer as my personal trainer and absolutely love her! She was just the right motivation I needed to get my hiney in shape for my wedding and to feel better about myself.

Fantastic experience: Champion's has a great atmosphere, state of the art equipment and a helpful knowledgeable staff. I joined Champions to get fit and I ended up not only being fit but lost 35 pounds. I worked with Dan Gaglianese who was a great and understanding trainer that made my wish and goal to come true with hard work and direction. I would highly recommend this establishment over all other gyms out there as there is a personal touch that comes with your membership.

The staff and owners are readily accessible to meet you needs and Anwser any concerns quickly and promptly. Also the trainers are ready to lend a hand if you have any questions free of charge. Fantastic experience: I’ve never been here, as I live 3,000 miles away, but I can tell by the public enthusiasm of the members and staff that it’s a great place. Those big-box gyms can be cold and impersonal. Despite their shiny floors and gleaming new exercise machines, workouts can still be a drudgery and not something to look forward to. Champion, on the other hand, is inviting. If I lived in Syracuse again, or on my next visit, Champion would be my place.

Fantastic experience: absolutely love this facility!! every one there is so friendly and it is such a warm, welcoming environment! I have been training here for a little over 6 months with Ami Michelle as my trainer. I would recommend training to anyone whether you are looking to maintain your current body, tone up, loose weight, or even gain weight it definitely helps to have someone as your partner in the journey to motivate you, encourage you, and teach you to do things the correct way. Ami is an amazing trainer who makes it fun and definitely something to look foward to. she is always challenging, motivating, and encouraging which has helped me to develop amazing results in a short time. I love everyone there and would recommend this fitness center and highly recommend the personal training to anyone!!
