Crunch Fitness - Schaumburg

Fantastic experience: Recently switched from south barrington xsport after it was bought by la fitness. Much more equipment and even during peak hours I'm able to get through my workout without issues.

Positive experience: Used to like this gym a lot very shady when canceling I had to move but thinking of moving back but not sure if I will sign up here again only if they fix what they messed up . Love the two floors keeps traffic at ease

Negative experience: No show employees in the early morning. Multiple days in a row.. I’m surprised they’re still in business. If you want to work out early morning, go to planet fitness next door. At least they open on time..

Negative experience: Crunch is back on its inconsistent opening schedule again . Gym is supposed to be open Mon-Fri at 5 am and for the past 2 days no one is here to open for hours. People who exercise consistently in the morning better be patient or willing to go to an alternative gym cause this one is not always reliable to open on time. Crazy is this even happens on weekends when the open time is 7am ‍♀️ We're are the reliable working people at these days?

Fantastic experience: I recently joined this gym, and I couldn't be happier! The cleanliness is top-notch; everything from the equipment to the locker rooms is spotless. It’s also wonderfully spacious and rarely crowded, allowing me to work out without feeling rushed or distracted. The staff is friendly and always available to help if needed. I highly recommend this gym for anyone looking for a serene and pristine workout environment!

Negative experience: Heavy metal music at the loudest level, front desk agent was sitting on the desk at the counter, not visiting again, bathrooms and showers...unspeakable. No hot water in showers, oh well. Shower handles broken if any. In a hurry to get out and close. Front desk attendee with long hair uncomfortably tossing it at the desk every few minutes, very distracting. Shopping center Parking lot could use better lighting.

Negative experience: machine been broken, doesn't even fix it . bathroom smells

Negative experience: I travel a lot for work, and go to many different Crunch fitness locations. By far the worse one I've been to. Everything is packed together in the weight area. Plus no wifi.

Negative experience: Terrible gym if you’re an avid lifter, only 3 squat racks, a couple benches, machines are just weird, and Dumbbells only go to 100lbs might as well go to planet fitness…..

Fantastic experience: love you crunch but PLEASE PLEASE PLEASEE add a hip thrust machine or at least a regular non freedom rack smith machine

Negative experience: They have penalties when you cancel after they tell you that you are allowed to cancel anytime. They say you just have to pay a reinstatement fee if you come back. They lie to you to get you to sign up. Wouldn’t recommend to anyone. I wont go back. Shady way to do business

Positive experience: Nice place. Good selection of equipment. Gal working the front, not the friendliest. 7pm close time on a Saturday a bit early if you ask me?

Fantastic experience: I love the equipment and I love that they have air conditioning in the summer .. A big shout-out and thank you to whoever is controlling the music because there is a broader mix for different musical tastes..

Negative experience: The staff here is so nice! But the air quality is HORRIBLE. You can’t breathe and you’ll be dropping in sweat before you pick up a weight or get on a cardio machine. It’s also extremely awkward because the men’s room is right in the middle of the weights so it feels pretty uncomfortable to bench press as a women.

Fantastic experience: Thanks to HIIT class from Koji T, now I only have to visit gym 3 times a week for 45 min only. Both cardio and resistance. Group class atmosphere helps you to try harder and judgements free fun. It helped to control diabetes, control food craving and after regular continuous classes had achieved fat loss. I could have never achieved the result by doing it by myself alone or by spending more time in gym.

Negative experience: Pros : None Cons: 1. Old machines (try planet fitness near by) 2. No wifi 3. Non supporting management Please check the year commitment policy before sign up, To cancel the membership you have to pay penalty fee and half of the year subscription They will never discuss this with you unless toy read the agreement (lot of pages) or ask out of the blue

Fantastic experience: Great gym! I'm visiting from Tampa Bay and there's everything here to get a great workout whether you're looking for HIIT heavy lifting or beginner training!

Negative experience: The machines in here are much better than those in the Planet Fitness nearby. The reason for the 2 stars is the place has seen better days. The least that the management can do is to clean it regularly. The dust just accumulate on the floor and on the racks and no employee seems to be bothered with it. The showers also need to be thoroughly cleaned if not remodeled. Limescale has developed everywhere and the grout need to be replaced.

Fantastic experience: These guys are amazing. Great atmosphere. Friendly staff especially the management. Hard to beat for the price. Nothing is even close. Equipment on point too. It’s a lifters gym. Machines that actually give you results unlike LA fitness or god forbid Planet fitness lol. Highly recommended.

Negative experience: Do not go here unless you want to be stuck in a contract with them that you can not get out of. I decided right after the day I signed up that it was not the right fit. I have called, stopped in and emailed trying to cancel my membership. My email was not answered until today 10/30. I was told I had to pay my payment that was due or they would not cancel it. I have never once went to this gym.

Fantastic experience: Great gym! Not busy and has everything you need to get in a great workout!

Negative experience: I liked this gym, even though most of their equipment on the first floor is dusty or not working. Additionally, they don't have Wi-Fi. I'm giving it one star because I was not satisfied with their membership cancellation process.

Negative experience: This place is filthy. Its a shame because the facility itself is great and the staff is very polite. The locker room has garbage all over the floor and the toilets look like they havent been cleaned in weeks (every week the same ones). The turf has clearly never been cleaned, you get black marks on your skin just from touching it. It stinks in here. I do not recommend a membership here until its under different management or something.

Negative experience: Planet fitness is probably cleaner than this gym which is saying alot Update; no one works here on Sundays? None of the sanitary wipe stations filled. This place is disgusting Also they can't afford wifi??

Positive experience: Who the heck can tolerate mumble rap in the gym? Can you play some old school hip-hop or hard rock at least? I mean please!

Negative experience: No WiFi. Never seen that at any Crunch fitness. I was visiting from out of town and the most offensive rap music playing at top volume, so loud my noise cancellation ear plugs could drown it. I come to the gym to escape that nonsense, not to be consumed by it. I literally walked out and went to the other gym because of it.

Positive experience: Solid gym, base membership price is $9.99 per month which is pretty similar to XSport and Planet fitness, definitely a solid option has all the essential equipment and more, quite a busy gym but most equipment available that you need even when the gym is busy

Fantastic experience: Crowded, but a good vibe. Staff was friendly and helpful. The district manager was in-house that night. He was helpful and accommodating. Personal training setup, we will see how it goes.

Negative experience: I really love the aspect of physical fitness and health. I thoroughly enjoy coming to the gym and look forward to starting my day. Unfortunately, I have a lot of disappointment regarding this specific location (for me) based on the inconsistency in hiring adequate staff that are reliable. There seems to be no accountability within this organization and as a member this comes across to me as "oh well" "take it or leave it." Recently this organization has not been committed to instilling those core values and things need to change. There has been numerous GM's that have come and gone with the exact same inconsistencies left behind for another GM to deal with. Let's get off this wheel and actually put a solid plan into action.

Negative experience: The only reason why I still attend this gym is because of their membership pricing. Otherwise, this gym is SOOOO DIRTY!!!! The locker room has had the same smell and floor marks for MONTHS, and I truly don’t think they clean anymore. It’s gross and frustrating nothin had changed for over 6 months

Negative experience: Absolutely hate this place. I cancelled my membership in June and suddenly got charged again in December. My bank got it refunded but now crunch calls me multiple times a day, for over a week. I've blocked their number and now my bf is receiving calls. It feels like a toxic ex that won't accept the break up. Never going back

Positive experience: Little small and cramped, could definitely use more power racks. But overall solid gym and very friendly staff

Fantastic experience: The gym is awesome. Love the double decker set up, its clean and has plenty of equipment. I workout around noon and never have a problem using what I want.

Fantastic experience: We absolutely love this gym. The staff is incredible, the layout is unique flows great, you can workout however you want, and it's clean. Can't best it, and for the price it's an absolute no brainer.

Fantastic experience: Great gym in schaumburg with two floors, cardio upstairs (elevator is available) and weights in the first floor, moreover, group workout classes offered regularly throughout the week. Also, tanning and a hydro-massage bed are included in the Peak membership. This place works well for me because of the location and reasonable price. Facility is kept clean and equipment is well maintained only left out of order briefly at times. Staff is attentive and always available to help.

Negative experience: Horrible customer service when it comes to cancellation. The gym makes you email for cancellation and doesn’t respond to you for a week. They charged me again when I already submitted my paperwork work outside of the 10 days period!

Negative experience: Been going to this gym for the greater part of 3+ years. Here's some pros and cons Pros: it's a gym with weights and machines and it's decently priced. Cons: The little kids that go here are for the most part disgusting. The staff try there best to keep the place clean but fall short which is not their fault. The music choice is pretty terrible and even when a decent song comes on its almost immediately changed because a staff member dosnt like that genre. 9/10 you have to wait 30 plus minutes because every one sits on there phones while "working" out. As a competitive bodybuilder this really is not a work oriented environment which is problematic. At best I'd describe this as an after-school hang out or social club. Update: I don't know who's bright idea it was to add a TV in front of the dumbbell rack on the lower level....but you should be fired.

Negative experience: Mold growing in the water fountain like really Crunch! Im disgusted by this place, kids that work there do nothing but stand in front and socialize and the paper towels are empty! You guys need to figure out your management, Im look for another place..

Positive experience: Overall it's a solid gym, it gets crowded around 6-7:30 PM almost every weekday that I've been there.

Fantastic experience: Had everything I wanted, good amount of machines, really liked their freeweight area, had an area with punching bags and monkey bars which looked fun. There was a nice area for athletic drills and a couple deadlift platforms too. Definitely my gym of choice any time I'm in Illinois, staff were friendly too and the songs from the radio were very motivating for working out.

Negative experience: Enjoy the gym but once a week it doesn't open in the morning. At points there could be 30 cars outside with a gym someone didn't open like this morning. Not a good look when a worse but bigger names gym opened basically in an adjoining parking lot. Probably not a coincidence the mornings are now empty as many probably cancels their membership

Fantastic experience: Clean and well equipped! Awesome that they have 24 hour access for members, including if you get a 1 week pass. Very helpful and kind staff. Not overly crowded; easy to get your workout done. Definitely recommend!

Negative experience: WHEN AM I GETTING MY REFUND KEITH?! I've been desperately trying to reach out to a district manager Keith Smith? at both Schaumburg and Mt Prospect locations and he's been ignoring all of my calls and emails. In February 2020 I was charged $220 for pt sessions i never signed up for and been trying to get my money back for 10 months now. I am disgusted by how unprofessional your behavior as a district manager is and the fact that you think it's okay to steal money from members, lie to them and treat them with zero respect.

Fantastic experience: Had issues with annual fees of $49 being charged to the card and i was unaware of it during signup process. Gym is pretty good otherwise.

Negative experience: The gym was good up until I tried canceling my membership. Completely unresponsive until I followed up several times. Then even when they responded, the only gave me a 1 month refund and not the entire 2 months they charged me.

Positive experience: Clean the water fountain. Fix the toliets. Clean the place thete is a pandemic!!!

Negative experience: Complete Frauds! They have taken money from automatic payment even though the clubs are closed and took the money without reimbursement. Called them -nobody is there to pick up and sent email and no response!! Absolutely disappointed since I thought they are a professional and honest company! Hope others also complain to the better business bureau about their fraudulent business practices.

Negative experience: i signed up for a $1 “no contract” membership over the phone and went to the gym once, and then my debit card was stolen so i figured, oh well they’ll just cancel my membership, i’m not paying for it. wrong. they’ll continue charging you for a good/service plus “late fees” which i didn’t see anywhere in my invisible contract and mess up your credit. $150 in late fees and months of a membership i never used. very sad to see business practices still being ran like this. just goes to show you how low some franchisees will go to make a dollar. i recommend everyone stay at least 5 miles from this gym, unless you’d like to contract hepatitis... hint hint. needle usage hint hint. not a good environment for casual weightlifters or older people trying to get into shape, you’ll feel very intimidated. this is not the gym you want to go to and the 10 machines they have are always drenched in sweat. my greatest memory in that gym was cancelling my membership and going down the street to lifetime. hope this helps

Positive experience: I usually work out at the Palatine location, but last week I needed to stay in Schaumburg after work, so I went to this location. I liked that the cardio machines were upstairs and separate from the weights, however, it seems like there is no wifi at this location in comparison to the Palatine, which does. I don't like wasting my data to listen to my own music, so it would have vastly improved my work out to be able to connect at this gym.

Negative experience: Worst GYM ever. It's so hard to cancel the membership plus the steal your money. ROBBERS

Positive experience: I was a member of this gym for two years. In terms of equipment and offerings, it is pretty good. Definitely needs more space for mat work, but lots of cardio machines and weights. I liked that tanning was included, but I never noticed much color from the sessions, and I usually tan pretty easily. I gave it three stars because they have quite a few hidden fees, and their freeze/cancellation policies are a bit complicated. I didn't notice that my account had been "unfrozen", and they wouldn't refund me for the two months that I paid without realizing it. The front desk staff could be more helpful as well, especially over the phone. Overall unless you live really close, I would recommend just joining your local park district.

Fantastic experience: Visited this gym while on travel for work. Staff was quick to respond to emails for how to sign up. Gym was clean and had all the equipment I needed to get my normal proagramming in. There was Two Olympic squat racks, bumper plates, even some speciality bars. And all the normal stuff - big cardio deck, dumbbells with multiple sets of lighter weights, and a large cable system.

Fantastic experience: I started working out at Crunch Fitness in Schaumburg at the beginning of the year, wanting to finally become healthy and happy with myself. John is honestly absolutely the best! He made me feel super comfortable and asked me what were my fitness goals. I was extremely reassured with how knowledgeable he is and how he has started my journey into fitness. I used to feel super anxious about going to the gym and now this place feels like a second home. I am extremely happy with my progress and I can't wait to see how much I will be able to grow and flourish here with these outstanding people

Fantastic experience: I have been working out at the crunch Schaumburg for a year now and have been very happy with this gym. The staff is very friendly and I couldn’t be happier with the cleanliness of the facility. I was so impressed with the gym I wanted to have my wife and 3 children get signed up. John made the process easy and really made us feel comfortable with signing up. I’ve been to gyms where they try pressuring you to sign up, but John didn’t give that impression. He let us know there was no pressure in signing up. I’ve never been so proud to be a member of a gym.

Fantastic experience: Staff is great; facility and equipment is good too. They have a new trainer - Oksana, she’s amazing! All of her classes are fun, intense, different every time, and best of all - I could see results after only a month or so! Definitely recommend.
