Fantastic experience: They have a variety of equipments and spacious locker rooms. This facility also have a swimming pool. The staff is very friendly and well commodate its members.

Negative experience: Very bad management. They make cancellation a nightmare. I thought I was avoiding a money-hungry organization by coming here. When it came time to cancel, I submitted forms for cancellation on two separate occasions. They told me I could not cancel online and had to physically come in to cancel. They kept charging me and told me that I never submitted either form. After I was called a liar, I finally proved it by having their IT team pull up phone conversations between me and a worker telling me to come in to physically turn in a form. The whole ordeal took months before they stopped charging me. It was honestly easier to cancel a membership at the greedy organizations I was trying to avoid by coming here. Do not recommend this place. Run!

Fantastic experience: People of all fitness levels, abilities, ages, confidence levels and body types of every spectrum can comfortably work toward their goals in this comfortable, clean, well maintained facilty. The welcoming and helpful staff openly responds to questions, concerns and suggestions; their support and positive energy fosters a new attitude toward my physical activity. Meeting with the trainer was a total game changer for me. There is so much to explore at this facility for extreme fitness fanatics to those that are simply trying to keep moving. Check it out!

Negative experience: ALSO: It’s pretty sad that the gym disagrees with all complaints and doesn’t take the members opinion seriously. Hopefully the gym changes their priorities in the future :(. This gym tends to kick out people who work hard and are confident. The owners of the gym kick out people that they dislike and if they don’t kick them out, they give them dirty looks or make little annoying comments if the member forgets to put their weight back, forgets to wipe a machine, or even if the member speaks too loud. This gym favors older white people with a lot of money and butters them up so they give their money to the gym for personal training that gives members improper information about how to workout and diet as they don’t progressive overload or even teach proper form. When I see the workouts that the personal trainers have their trainees do, I feel bad for the people that are being trained as their is so much information on the internet that is available for free rather than the hundreds of dollars they are paying for personal training. The fitness classes happen during the time that the most members are at the gym and it clearly annoys members. Imagine going to work all day and then looking forward to the gym but when you get there you see a bunch of middle aged women screaming and following a lady that doesn’t have a clue what she is doing when she is teaching the class. The gym could be way better if the management had consideration for all members and not just the ones who give them the most money.
Hello Gym User – To be very clear, on the very rare occasion we must revoke a membership, it is the result of clear, repetitive violation of our facility code of conduct or harassment of our team which we will not tolerate. We always give people the opportunity to correct their behavior, but sometimes there is no cooperation and there are consequences. We are so very proud of our experienced and knowledgeable team of trainers and instructors, as well as our diverse and dedicated members. Sorry, you do not agree. We understand you have many options when it comes to picking a fitness facility, so we appreciate you choosing The Club as yours!
Negative experience: UPDATE - * A prime example of how horribly this place is run based on their response. Multiple complaints made (all of which are reoccurring issues) and they are handled by saying “we have no issues at our gym and we disagree with your complaints” even though they repeatedly get the same complaints from multiple different sources, both in person and online. Not 1 attempt to fix any of the facts and issues listed below. * I have been a member here for about 20 years. This facility is going to waste due to management issues and incompetent trainers. Equipment and weight room is always dirty and broken. There are red and black bug infestations outside and inside of the facility. During prime time gym hours ( 5 AM, 9 AM, 5 PM), the weight room is cut in half while trainers run cardio classes in open spaces, not even using the weights or equipment that they are keeping from those not in classes. **Trainers hook up microphones to a PA system and proceed to scream into that microphone during their classes with no regard for the disturbance caused to members that are simply there to workout, regardless of multiple customer complaints. The volume is so loud that the noise can not be drowned out even with the use of noise cancelling headphones. Imagine trying to workout with someone screaming “Woo” into a microphone and blasting personal music through a PA system while classes do cardio (cycling, jogging, etc) and a made up version of crossfit called HIIT. Trainers and management have harassed and ignored multiple members whenever complaints are issued. Most of the positive reviews posted on the site are not by regular members. Longstanding staff and members are treated poorly, unless you pay extra money to join classes. Trainers are mostly out of shape and run cyclical training group programs that essentially are a marketing ploy to make sure members make enough progress to keep paying for classes but never make actual progress due to no progressive increase/load in training. Trainers will watch and allow people to workout with improper form (arched back, spine misalignment, neck misalignment, etc). There is no regard for technique or form during training which is dangerous and unfortunate for those paying extra for training group classes. It’s a shame because the facility has a large space and high potential, with limited competing gyms in the area, and the front desk and some office staff is extremely nice and accommodating. Hopefully they are able to resolve these major issues and take advantage of the space that they have.

Fantastic experience: Amazing. I'm blown away. Last week I took a tour of the new luxury gym everyone's raving about, and honestly our Club here is just as nice. We have Rock Climbing, a Huge wall! 2 stories! Sauna, lockers, tons of basketball courts, the cleanest most sanitary equipment, and may I say, the Staff up front is legit.

Negative experience: Extremely unprofessional management. I have been a member here for roughly 20 years and have witnessed the decline of this once great gym. The general manager of the gym, Christene Tulsa, runs the place like a used car dealership. She recently pulled me into her office and continued to scream and curse at me over putting back a weight that I forgot to rerack. As a business owner myself, if my general manager or any of my employees ever spoke to one my customers the way Christene spoke to me, they would be fired immediately.

Negative experience: Quick warning: Do not waste your hard earned money on those parent-tot swim classes. $ 140 down the drain for dipping your baby in the pool for half an hour a week. That's really all it is. On another note: Why do they offer parent-tot swim classes or anything parent-tot at all, if there are only 2 baby changing tables in the whole place?! Those family changing rooms are ALWAYS blocked by families without babies or toddlers that require a changing table. Those incredibly inconsiderate parents peacefully shower and change with their kids and it's often mom and daughters or dad and sons who could've easily used the women's or men's changing rooms. Are they homeless and use The Club for a good long shower session? I fully intend to change and dress my baby at the front desk next time! Today I had to put my baby on the space between the sinks in the women's changing room which was fascinatingly quite empty.

Clientele also nice, considerate as they wipe down machines after use. 100 times safer, cleaner and more spread out than cramped LA Fitness (Esporta) in W. Dundee where wipping down machines is unheard of.
Fantastic experience: I love this club. For sure it is very personalized, what you like. For me it has most of what I need for stay active indoors. Nicely clean, modern, lots of space. Good swimming pool. Not crowded when I come. Nice friendly staff and its affordable.

Fantastic experience: It's a good health club. Run by Hoffman Estates park district. Clean well kept and most of the patrons are respectful of each other. No soap, no towels. Parking is good, staff has been great . Looking for a local gym, this is a good place. Cost more than the discount places, however it has a lot more to offer.
Negative experience: Was a member here since 2004. Was a great place, and there's a reason why they rebranded to "The Club." Because it was just like a private club!! Once the name changed a few years back, they removed all the amenities including TOWELS. You know things that made it a club-like experience. This is now just another park district gym dressed up to look nice. Why spend all the money to rebrand if you can't keep what made it a Club in the first place?! Bring back the towels, and maybe better hours, and Ill change this review!

Fantastic experience: I highly recommend The Club. I joined in June 2021 and have never looked back. (In fact, I waited too long!) I really appreciate the cleanliness of the place, the variety of offerings and all the equipment. But most of all I enjoy the people. To a person the staff and trainers are knowledgeable, patient and professional. They take genuine interest in us. I work out three times per week and for the most part it's the people who keep me coming back. One more thing - like anything else you get what you pay for and on balance the value of The Club is also 5 Stars. For sure! Highly recommended!

Hello Alisha – As a guest coming into our facility there are requirements we ask of all guests as we welcome them in. That is, to check in at the front desk, complete a guest waiver, and pay any applicable guest fees. Our desk associate communicated these details to you as she should and would with any guest. You proceeded into the gym without completing these steps and as a result our manager on duty asked you to come back to the desk and complete this process if your intention was to stay. It is concerning that your perception of these interactions are anything other than our staff communicating our guest visit process. Negative experience: The blonde girl at the front desk was very rude and wouldn’t give me her name when I asked. I asked to speak to a manager and she said no Manager was there but the guy in charge of the memberships was. So this guy Jeff comes out and says he’s the manager even though she just said there’s no manager there(?). So pretty sure it was just the membership guy. He was also very rude to me and to be honest the whole experience felt pretty racist.

Positive experience: Lots of post-covid changes. Fewer bathroom amenities and monthly rates went up $4. Most classes are reserved and there's an additional $15 fee for HIIT classes. They do have wipes to clean machines, no more messy spray bottles!

Fantastic experience: Overall, extremely pleased with my experience at The Club. Start with the outstanding staff who cater to any need or concern that comes up with a positive and welcoming attitude (although, there are really no needs to be filled due to the abundance of amenities that are offered). Secondly, it is a positive atmosphere to partake in any activity offered there. Lastly, the cleanliness of the facility is terrific. As someone who holds cleanliness as a very important factor, the constant cleaning of the machines and various rooms as well as the overall, amazing look and aesthetic of the facility is something that I am amazed and very happy with. Overall, completely pleased with my only positive experiences at Prairie Stone and am looking forward to more.
Fantastic experience: This place is great in terms of equipment and facility. The faculty are pretty chill too and the people that go here are genuinely pretty nice. It is a little pricey (not too bad relatively tho) and the enrollment fee is the dumbest thing ever but in terms of the actual gym itself, I love it. It's great for any goals u have whether ur an athlete or just someone wanting to lose weight. I would give 4 stars because of the price but the rest of the gym is so nice and relatively never full that I'll give it 5.

There are a wide variety of fitness classes offered not to mention all the other activities you can do on your own. There is no way you can get bored at this gym.

Fantastic experience: This is the best gym I have ever been to. I grew up going there in kids corner, took swim lessons, and used the climbing wall. They are taking safe precautions right now and I always feel safe and clean there during these times. The renovations this year were outstanding and coming back during breaks as a college athlete, the gym has everything available for me to train. The staff are always friendly and helpful. This is the place to go if you are looking for a clean gym with up to date equipment and great classes with amazing instructors!

Negative experience: **Update 5/24/2021** When I originally signed up they said most things closed for covid should open around August. That was well before the CDC ripped off the Band-Aid with their new no mask required for vaccinated people policy. I asked again today if this was going to move faster now that the new policy was in place. They said no, still hoping for August but they had no idea or any concept of what it was going to look like. This gym is becoming like the titanic. It's great, but no one is steering the ship and it's eventually going to sink. When I brought up the fact that lifetime in Schaumburg was fully open 100% kids club and everything else, the other lady behind the front desk got kind of defensive. Compete or die off - welcome to the fitness business. Suffice to say, I gave my 30-day notice today and recommend you avoid paying for this empty promise until you're getting what you pay for. **Original review March 2021** I can only review the club as it currently stands.The TLDR of it all, is that for $115 a month (for 2x people), at least a third of the amenities they usually offer are still missing due to covid. And while it does have some great positives, missing these amenities makes it a hard place to recommend for the price. Staff - 6/10 Friendly, but they REALLY like to gather around the front entrance to chit-chat. Also, since they're Parks district and not a for-profit corporation I noticed the staff is a bit mouthy especially the older ones and upper management. Cleanliness - 10/10 The equipment is always very clean, the self clean wipes are very accessible, and every single person I've seen get off a machine or switch cardio machines has wiped down their equipment. The rest of the gym is equally clean. Amenities - 4/10 So much missing. For example: the play pool area/lap pool is reservation only, steam room gone, whirlpool spa gone, rock wall gone, towel service gone, classes severely reduced, kids club gone, shower/locker amenities gone. The fact is you're still paying full price for the monthly membership and missing a good amount. Equipment - 8/10 This is something I have to give them credit for. Every room is packed with equipment. I think they have it all in triplicate. The downside to this is that some of it is just kind of thrown together to fill space and varying in age. But you should always be able to find something you need. Pools 7/10 The lap pool is exactly what you would expect, and there's plenty of room for water aerobics, swimming laps, etc. The water is very warm and very conducive to swimming laps. The kids play pool area is okay. It's a shallow play area graded to a 4ft depth with a sine water feature. The gym cuts costs by NOT heating this water - which is ashame. This area contains the whirlpool spa, but it is not currently operational due to covid. Locker rooms 7/10 Clean, poorly laid out, small, but the lockers contain built in combo locks, so no need to bring your own. There is also a family locker area which is also very sparse. Overall 6/10 I don't think this gym is ready for prime time yet, nor would I currently recommend it to somebody. If this gym were firing on all cylinders, I think it is completely worth the membership fee and would recommend it without hesitation. There's just too much competition offering a lot more (Lifetime) or similar cardio/weights for much less (Xsport/Planet Fitness).
Negative experience: Way too big for a quick workout. You get way more value at Planet Fitness for only $10-20/mo. The workout equipment is all at least 10 years old, rusted metal and torn seats.

Unfortunately, I will be looking for a new gym to go to in the near future. VERY DISAPPOINTED IN THE EMPLOYEES.

Negative experience: Very rude employees. I understand there are rules they have to enforce but I dislike their constant attitude towards gym members.

Fantastic experience: Best workout facility in the area. In 2020 & 2021 a total of $1 million being invested to upgrade the facility. Excellent staff. Give it a try. You won't regret it.
Fantastic experience: This gym is the best in this area! Tried a few others and this has the most amenities (rock wall, pools, indoor track, steam room, studio rooms, and sooo much more!) and costs a little less than lifetime. The facility is very clean and organized with up to date equipment. Their staff is very friendly and it has enough space that even the busy times aren't that bad. They offer many free classes that aren't your typical classes and actually kick some butt! Highly recommend this gym for anyone considering it!
Positive experience: It is horrible how the prices are! I called to see if my sons friend to visit to play basketball with him and Sue told me it would be $30 for a 3 pack. They do not offer guess passes. My Sons membership for the month is $30. It’s horrible how the prices and fees are.

Positive experience: Very clean, staff is friendly, and the steam room is amazing. The only thing is that now the towels are up front... and it makes it awkward to watch them, watch you take the towels you need. ☹
Positive experience: Overall good facility and programs.
Positive experience: They need to get after those who abuse their facilities. A family of 5 showing in the family changing area of the pool and taking over the entire bench with their clothing, combs, towels and after shower hair care is ridiculous. And then say that there is no one to enforce those who abuse their facilities is nuts. Why are those who pay the same as everyone else get more favorable treatment?

Fantastic experience: I have visited many health clubs while traveling. The Club is definitely one of the best. The pool was better than average, the people there at the time were of all abilities but they made you wanna keep up. They had all the usual equipment but at a higher level. The maintenance and cleaning staff are superb. All the front desk people are spectacular. This place is definitely in my top 5!

Fantastic experience: Great atmosphere and friendly staff! I have been a member for over ten years now. They have a nice variety of classes and instructors to cater to all. The kids korner is also wonderful! My daughter has been going there since she was a baby. Both Beth and Ms Carol are very kind and loving to my daughter. It is because of both Beth and Ms Carol that my now nine year old continues to love going to the kids korner. Overall a great place to workout!
Fantastic experience: Beth and her events team are all-stars! Had an overnight Boy Scouts event which included the rock wall, swimming, and all night access to the three gyms. It was a great night, very affordable for a group. Brittney and Tim made sure we had everything we needed. Beth was able to answer all of our questions during the planning stages.
Fantastic experience: Coach Josh coaches my son basketball here. In just 1 month, I have seen great progress with him. Would recomend him to all kids parents who take basketball seriously. His company is optionsbasketball.
Fantastic experience: I love this place! Very clean, friendly and helpful staff, lots of equipment, and extra amenities like the steam room and hot tub that make it fun to come here. I also like that the classes are included in the membership, unlike other gyms that make you pay extra for that. Overall, chill vibe and awesome place to work out at.

Negative experience: I bring my kids here week after week for swimming classes. As I walked in to go to the pool, one lady at the front desk asked where I was going very rude. I said to the swimming pool and she rolled her eyes. I felt very uncomfortable. That one interaction will make me look else where for swimming classes.
