Negative experience: seriously stupid that you still get charged for not using their service. haven't been there since i got a membership and now they want to charge me because i have an outstanding balance? if my payment failed just discontinue my service ?! ridiculous

Negative experience: About payment I tried to cancel my membership on jun they didn’t help me until July now suddenly I see my bank account they charged me on August , September, twice on October and another charge this month I called and they did not help me understand why I still got charged when i had already canceled I have screenshots about every transaction and emails I got. They are just seeing how to take money away.

Negative experience: The manager stated I can call and cancel anytime. Clearly that was a lie as a 30 day billing cycle was added and you have to contact the manager only. Not crunch, not any employee, only manager. Its been 2 months trying to cancel. This is not how transactions work and I disputed the charges. If you enjoy going somewhere to do drugs in the lockers and staff turn a blind eye, this is the place.

Negative experience: My experience at this gym has been complicated, especially for my first time in an environment of this type. Over the course of 5 months, I have not obtained the results I expected, despite following the recommendations. Although the staff is friendly, I felt that the promises of support and accompaniment were not fulfilled in the way I expected. The approach seems more oriented towards selling additional services than offering constant accompaniment in personal progress. I think there are aspects that could be improved.

Fantastic experience: Monday to Thursday is pretty full but with that being said there are still always machines and equipment available. Weekends are pretty clear.

Negative experience: This location has busted equipment that needs to go to the dump. Rusty machines or out of service. For how many machines they have, they could really use some better variety and not just duplicates. The only reason they didn't get a 1 star review is because the staff here were great. Very nice and helpful. They deserve to work at a nicer location.

Negative experience: They sign up minors then make the parent come down to cancel. It’s crazy how they would get all bank information from a child and then rack up fees and insist that the parent come down and cancel policy in person and then tell me I have to come down on there time when the manager is in. Seems shady as heck. Let’s see if I even get her money back.

Negative experience: This gym has a mosquito plague! i have brought this to management's attention and they still haven't done anything about it! They are extremely dangerous and even the CDC has warned about them. Do not put your life at risk!!

Fantastic experience: This location has good options for equipment. Treadmills seem to break down often though. The staff in the afternoon are great, they do a great job at bringing positive gym culture to this location by remembering my name and greeting me when I come in. The crew does their best to keep the facility clean. Unfortunately some of the members don't pick up after themselves and during peak hours you may find water bottles, sanitizer wipes or weights left on the machines or the gym floor. Otherwise I enjoy this location and it's close to home.

Negative experience: This gym has no ac!! The workout area is soooo hot and smells of sweat! Has no ac and makes the air so dense and gross. After a pandemic you would think it would be common sense to keep a gym fresh and cooled. The risk of disease is high here, stay away!
Negative experience: Two stars instead of one, since we liked the Riverside location on Hole Ave. which recently closed. But wow - good luck trying to cancel after that as other Crunch locations were not convenient. We were told we had to pay an additional monthly fee BEFORE we could cancel, even though we hadn't used our membership in weeks as our old location hadn't been available. This, on top of the annual $50 fee IN ADDITION to the monthly fees - even though we were members for less than five months. Pretty underhanded "fee" structure. If you can find another gym with more honest billing tactics - avoid Crunch.
Negative experience: Several things, most machines are broken! Impossible to do a proper leg workout for example since they are mostly all broken, missing weight buttons or simply not oiled properly. The staff is absolutely horrendous! All they do I talk and laugh while the place is falling apart. Lastly, most people do not workout, they use this place as their beauty salon parlor where they come to gossip and be a nuisance. Avoid!

Negative experience: I tried to cancel my gym membership when covid hit and they denied my refund because i paid the year in Full. I went back today to sign up again because its the only gym around my area. I asked to speak to the manager because I wanted to ask some questions and Trevor the guy at guest services was giving me the run around. I managed to go in on a Guest pass and was really disappointed because most of the machines i like to use are broken. Im going to sacrifice the drive to another gym because they didn’t really seem interested in keeping me as a customer and not worth paying a membership when machines are always broken.

Negative experience: Staff is friendly, prices are good. Go to a different Crunch Fitness. There's one on Hole and Magnolia that's in much better condition. At this location, the machines are old, worn down, and janky. The cardio machines are especially bad. A lot of them don't work, and don't get fixed. Even the scale to weigh yourself is broken (not even kidding). They don't even clean the showers (I accidentally left something in a stall and found it again 3 weeks later). Seriously. Go to the other one and sign up there.

Fantastic experience: Trainer Luis Ortuno is the best in the business. He helped me get in incredible shape quickly after doing nothing for 15 years, Hes really motivatiinal and experinced. I feel better than ever. Highly recommend him if you want a trainer. It is a great gym, never had a problem with payments like some other reviews. Just have it bill your credit card and you will never have an issue. I had to freeze my membership for a month after a motorcycle road racing accident and it was easy, didn't even have to call anyone. The management is good.
Fantastic experience: Best gym I've ever been too awesome staff
Positive experience: So far this gym has completely been worth the money. I DO NOT use the equipment so I cannot say anything about that but I attend the morning group classes and those do not disappoint. I'm only there for the hour of the class and so far that has been awesome. I like that the room has plenty of space for many attendees and the big fans help not keep it stuffy even after an hour of aerobics. The Zumba classes feel more like just aroebics but I really don't mind that because it is an amazing workout and I have two left feet. They offer Zumba and other small group classes every day so if you need the group motivation like I do, they have options. They only get a four because the yoga mats really do need replacement, I bring my own now and problem solved but it shouldn't be like that. Update after attending for about three months this Crunch Fitness is still a 4 star. Most of the staff is really great, but the machines could use some care. I've started attending the HITT classes at 5:30 am with Dona and I couldn't be happier. She is so patient and provides alternative exercises for a beginner like me.

Negative experience: I was in Riverside for a few days on business and figured I would singing into this gym. Got there at 5am and the parking lot was pitch black (Super Sketch). Considering i had never been to this location I asked the front desk guy where the locker room was, his response was "umm in the back corner by the sign". it was like legit in the faaar back corner, with their 1980s lockers, however this gym is basically a closet meaning super tiny, dirty, stuffed full of crud and broke down. I ended up going to 24 hour fitness the last couple days in town. I had no interest in dealing with that place again.

Positive experience: UPDATE: I have notice that they now have a cleaning person and the restrooms and gym are clean now. Always clean! I will update if needed Original post: I am not one to complain but on Friday night I went to the gym and the ladies locker room was filthy. I continued to go in hopes of it being cleaned. I went Saturday and Sunday and the ladies locker room continued to get even worse. A whole weekend has gone by and the mess was still there, this is disgusting and for the price paid it should be cleaned. Go here cause it is less than a mile away from my house come October I will be not renewing and just get 24 Hour Fitness. I would never recommend this gym to anyone.

Negative experience: This gym needs AC! During the mornings, afternoons they do not bave it on, and the smell of sweat and mold just lingers around. Machines are often broken and their weight section only has one set of 20s. They got rid of the 17.5 and 27.5 whivh everyone used to use. Do not recommend!!

Today 6/3/21 waited 20 minutes along with other gym members that came and left, and no employee showed up to open the gym. I hope nothing bad happened, but just please be mindful of the members time.

Fantastic experience: What a big difference from the one on Tyler. The staff was very helpful and friendly upon arrival. The atmosphere, it just has better vibe than the one on Tyler. The facility was clean and organized and didn't have a funky smell or trash scattered in the front the property. I had a much better experience here than the one on Tyler. Definitely will be coming back.

Positive experience: It's okay, just a regular gym to perform your routines. They have several machines broke for months, no idea why they take so long for these guys fix the equipment. The water fountain is broke and at the time I'm writing this review the two urinals located at the men's lockers are out of service. When I opened my subscription I paid in full one year, I presented a discount coupon I got on my mail box and the manager never validated the discount, he charge me the full amount of the subscription not even I paid in cash. Workers are friendly and they try to do the best to make you feel happy. The installation have disposable alcohol clothes to clean the machines every time you use any one and are free of cost. The cleaning lady is very professional and take care of the gym. She's always busy collecting trash or cleaning the machines.

If you come in to cancel your membership they tell you that you have to wait for a manager to come in. Your on their schedule. You’re a monthly payment and nothing else. I'd give zero stars if I could.

Have been trying to cancel my membership which I was never told was a one year contract ……..for the last few months and the management which is just one guy kept giving me the run around about how to cancel. One day was email us then another was come in person. Both times I did what was requested then to find out I needed to do the other instead ……ridiculous. Then when I finally met with an employee not even the manager they where hitting me with the yearly fee when I was 5 days over that fee charge date and I’ve been trying to cancel for months. Worst customer service and shady business practices will be reporting to the bbb with documentation of emails and calls. Stay away from this particular location.

Negative experience: I called the gym to cancel my membership back on April 8th. I was not comfortable going into the gym due to covid. Therefore, I was told to send an email requesting the cancellation by the person at the front desk. I sent an email on April 9th with the membership ID and the reasoning. On April 13th Rob Haynes responded asking if there was something that could have been done differently. I called the front desk the following week to inquire about the cancellation and they told me that the manger would take care of the cancellation. Just yesterday, May 13th I was charged for the membership monthly fee again. I called the front desk this morning and left my information with Teresa. Rob Haynes was very rude, he stated “but you didn’t get a cancellation email did you? Then it wasn’t cancelled.” It by far was very rude service. As a manager, if a customer requests a cancellation it is your job to cancel and reduce the burden on the customer. Ask what you could have done different afterwards. I was told in the end that I will be getting a refund for May and NOW officially my membership has been cancelled. I will never be a crunch fitness member ever again. Stay away from North Riverside the management is not professional at all.

Negative experience: Not a good gym. Management is very bad. I'm Member since January and already Planning to quit. Thanks God I didn't get into contract. The lady in the morning always remain in a bad mood. These guys know least about customer Service. If you ask them any favour, you feel like begging. Crunch fitness app sucks.
Negative experience: What a disgusting gym! It smells very bad, everything is old, many machines do not work, incompetent personnel starting with the manager, they are liars with the membership and when you want to cancel they want to charge you and apart they want to charge you for the cancellation apart they do not have good hygiene even in times of covid
Negative experience: Be careful with this gym, it is the worst I have ever known, in the first place it is very old and dirty and it smells very bad, and be careful with the membership because they deceive you, they tell you that it is from month to month and when you look at it it is for a year So be careful because they put whatever they want, and the manager is rude, they should fire him and hire someone competent
Negative experience: This gym is trash. Very quick to sign you up but as soon as you want to cancel your membership they can’t help you. They charged me multiple times after I physically went into cancel and called them over the phone, to the point where I stopped paying (bc it was ridiculous to pay for something I had cancelled!)and they put a soft inquiry on my credit report. Horrible. May God bless y’all cause y’all need it.
Negative experience: I'll give it the one star just to let everyone know that I've cancelled my membership and they charged me for the entire month I mean if I dont want to come here I shouldn't pay right well they where very rude when I called didn't give me the info when I asked for it and I still got charged for service I'm not getting this is the worst place ever honestly this is my very first written review and it's for a bad experience dont come here they still your money
Negative experience: Let’s start with the gym the stuff are not the helpful and they don’t know how to explain some points I went there I had a day pass they didn’t let me go in they were making me purchased a membership with out even trying the gym which is really sad because all there trying to do is selll ! Negative experience: Used to be a nice gym worst customer service. They are quick to sign you up but when it comes to cancelling your membership all of sudden nobody can help you. I cancelled my membership and i have been billed twice. Place sucks really gone down hill save your money go somewhere else.
Negative experience: Have been attempting to cancel my membership for 2 years now even before Covid-19. I expect a refund for these two years as my proof is in my emails. Will be reporting this gym to the BBB. Poor Management and I do not blame the front desk as they are being informed that in order to cancel, it needs to be done by email.

Negative experience: Crunch has been my home gym for the past four years, and over time I have seen some good and bad changes. Throughout my fitness career, I have been to many gyms Crunch (LA), Crunch (rancho), Crunch (Boulder, CO), golds, 24, planet, orange and corporate gyms at work. This facility lacks customer service, friendliness and primarily, fitness trainers fail to deliver what they say they will do for you. I signed up with David at the beginning of the year just for a little extra push to get me back on track after the holidays. Clearly, I explained my fitness goals and intermediate/Advance level of training that I'm currently doing. I specifically requested to be matched with someone who will provide that; he mentioned that my assigned trainer would assist with a fitness plan via text/email according to how many days of the week I work out. On my first session with Lexus, she went through the initiation process, and essentially we got to the first workout session, which was not any different or the intensity that I was expecting. In a week, I received only one text from my trainer with one day's worth of a workout. I brought it up to David's attention nothing changed. After spending 270$, I got a one-day workout and no schedule to get me back on track; what a completely new start of the year failure. I asked for a refund I was denied despite management and trainer failing to deliver what they promised. I want to thank Frank, ever since he got hired, the facility and equipment are clean and you find weights where they supposed to be 5 for him.
Negative experience: This place will steal your money! Stay clear! My membership had been cancelled and I was charged not once, but TWICE. I have called them and sent an email as they told me to do and its been over two months and I still have no received a refund. They have given me the run around and do not care. Go to another gym before they bankrupt you.
Negative experience: My husband and I have been getting extra charges to our debit card with crunch fitness. My husband is the only one who has an active membership and pays $19.95 a month. On October 9th, they charged our account $69.95 for an annual fee and $19.95 for his monthly fee. In November, he was charged his monthly fee of $ 19.95. For December, our account was charged his monthly fee of $19.95 and now they charged $69.95. When we called to find out what the extra charge was they stated, "it could be a back payment from last month." BUT HE HAS BEEN CHARGED FOR OCTOBER AND NOVEMBER! Then they said it was an annual fee. HE ALREADY WAS CHARGED FOR AN ANNUAL FEE IN OCTOBER! He was not given a refund and we had to call our bank, Chase, in order to try to fight this extra charge. watch out for these extra fees! i will be filing a complaint with the BBB
Fantastic experience: Crunch has the best instructor in the world, Jenna Awad is an amazing Zumba, boot camp, bar, stretching instructor!!!!! Her ability to dance all kind of music combined with her strength, energy, smile and effort in every movement make her an exceptional instructor. I love her classes. Thanks Jenna.

Fantastic experience: This is one of the few gyms open during pandemic. They ended up having to move the gym to the parking lot do to state laws or get shut down. Gyms are not just about building muscle, losing weight etc.. for some people it's therapy, it's a stress reliever and gives them balance. Thanks for staying open!!

Negative experience: I’m very disappointed with this gym specially with the staff. Before COVID I renew my membership I paid $45 for annual membership, that’s a separate fee from the monthly fee. Even when the restriction order started I paid my membership until May 2020 when the gym was closed. I wanted to cancel my membership but there was no way to reach out to Crunch North Riverside or the Headquarters. So I asked my bank to stop the payment. Today 12.2.2020 I got a collection call from an attorney office saying that I have an account with them regarding Crunch membership. I called Crunch North Riverside and Tara answered I explained to her what happened. She told me, in a very mean tone, that since the gym opened in June I owed 6 months of membership and I had to pay 121. I asked why the gym hasn’t reached out to me she told me that they don’t have the time to reach out to their member so I have to pay. Then I asked for the manager she said he was not there and will be there on Friday, so he works only 2 days a week. She also told me you should have checked your email for the notification of no payment. I told her I haven’t received any emails. She said it was not the gym’s fault. I’m very disappointed with this gym they are charging me for these 6 months but I paid for March, April and May 2020 and they closed in March. So I want my money back. The fact that you never reached out to me to let me know about my membership is the way you took advantage and the way the manager only works 2 days a week more over the way Tara answers with no customer service skills makes me very disappointed I will file a claim for this and I will never come back to your gym.
Positive experience: Nice gym, the staff are awesome. Zacks the man. Great machines and the regulars are cool and respectful. Sometimes it can get a little busy but all and all better then planet fitness for sure.

Negative experience: They're not providing the services that your paying for and yet expect you to pay full price. Not only that when I asked to cancel because of them not providing the services I'm paying for they tried charging me triple my normal bill. I'm flat broke I don't have that money just laying around I pay less for my car insurance. Not only that but I never signed a year long contract but they insist I did. The manager that was talking to me was very pushy and shady I'd never recommend Crunch fitness to friends or family.

Negative experience: Don’t trust this place. They’ve over charged on several occasions. Even though I didn’t get a personal trainer, they charge me for one. Whoever can’t get back your money from them, dispute it with your bank instead.
Negative experience: I have been trying to cancel my membership for months, but its been impossible. I'm so tired of being charged. When I tried to cancel it they told me I had a large sum of fees to pay in order to 'break my contract' but I signed up for a monthly membership. Not a yearly.
