Fantastic experience: This is a long over due post! First off I want to thank LIHR for all their hard work getting the gym COVID ready immediately and keeping it in tip top shape throughout the last few months. I have seen the hard work that was put into this task day after day! In the early days of the pandemic, people were so nervous to come in the front door but once you walked in you could see all the covid safeguards that had been put into place like, hand sanitizer stations, check-in and the temperature stations and enforcement of mask and cleaning procedures, all kept in check because of the loyal staff. Last summer the staff work diligently getting the equipment outside - day after day for only a few people who showed up but they kept it up! This was such a bad time for many people including myself-the one thing I counted on everyday was LIHR Because I knew I was safe. This will always be my gym!

Fantastic experience: After I moved to Long Island from NYC I thought I would miss going to the Vertical club on the East Side but I was fortunate to find a fitness club locally that met all my needs. At the time it was Amritraj, then World Gym and now it's Long Island Health and Racquet. I've been very satisfied with the gym for over 20 years. The staff and members are friendly and the gym is spacious and well maintained. The cost of the membership is beyond fair. I made a good move.

Fantastic experience: I've recently joined this gym and its just a really easy going chill place. The other members and staff are all really nice and theres always enough space. It's a good vibe, and a great place to work out.

Fantastic experience: Great gym with professional staff. The equipment is all up to date and the gym is very clean. Such a vast selection of equipment and machines. Excellent classes if your looking for HIT training.

Negative experience: I had complained to management over several weeks about some members not wearing their face masks while working out. . Management didn’t seem to care and told me he would have employees monitor the situation. I didn’t see any improvement over several weeks and at one point when I told one of the employees that there was an individual on the treadmill with his face mask completely down, the employee said he was too busy to attend to it even though he was standing around chatting with people about non work related matters.And this is far from the first time I noticed this employee “goofing off” when I came into the gym in the morning. So I cancelled my membershio last week because of incompetent management which has failed to ensure compliance with the state mandate for wearing masks in the facility.

Fantastic experience: After moving into town and looking for a new gym, I fell in love with this place. The cardio and machines are nicely separated from the free weights. So if you want to lift heavy in a lifting environment, or do cardio and light lifting you dont need to worry about clashing with each other. The sauna and the locker rooms are a huge plus as well. If you want a home town gym feel, here's the place to go.

Fantastic experience: I love this gym. I have been going to World Gym for over a year and enjoy working out there. There is a great deal of space so it's comfortable and the people who attend the gym are respectful and considerate. The staff is friendly and try to accomodate needs. I had been looking around for a while to find a gym that I feel relaxed and not intimidated and this gym is the perfect fit for me. Bruce, Bill and team created a fun, caring environment to stay fit and be healthy.

Fantastic experience: Can't recommend this gym enough. Very spacious and clean with a friendly staff The only real issue like others have said is parking during peak hours. As far as suggestions go, I would like to see an extra bench press and/or a proper dead-lift platform instead of the smiths machines which are pretty underutilized.

Negative experience: My wife had a membership there and tried to cancel pre-covid and was told she needed to come in to cancel. 3 days prior to the gym shutting down she called again and tried to cancel and received the same answer... to come in. Never received an email saying the gym reopened and was charged 2 months. When she realized they started charging her again she called and they told her she could've cancelled over the phone. now she is stuck with paying 2 months of a gym membership she hasn't been to. The machines are ancient nothing is updated and the communication with the staff is awful.

Positive experience: Raquetball courts available, the gym is clean and the people are friendly.... good value.

Fantastic experience: The best gym I've ever belonged to. Quiet and clean makes this the perfect place to work out and relax in the hot tub afterwards. Two tennis courts and a salt water lap pool made this a perfect place for me. Along with many other perks for even the most serious health enthusiasts makes it the best gym around.

Negative experience: I just called this place and the lady over the phone was not warm and i felt had an attitude with me. Just from the tone of her voice i can tell she was mad. I asked if they were hiring and she said very sternly that i have to go on the website to fill out an application. I then asked for the managers name and she responded very quick where i had to ask her to repeat herself and i can tell she was quickly losing her patience as she spelled out the managers name letter by letter. I don’t know how the rest of the staff is but i didn’t get a good vibe from this interaction and thought i’d make note of it.

Fantastic experience: I have been a member since 1999 and this gym has everything you need from toning, body building , cardio classes , tennis , Racketball, and swimming . The staff is spectacular and you get know everyone feeling like it’s a family oriented atmosphere. They are always cleaning and have cameras loaded for your peace of mind . The parking can be hectic at times but that’s how you know you’ve got the right gym . When your done training there’s a great legendary diner I highly advice next door , The Peter Pan to finish out your day .

Fantastic experience: Great gym. Memberships are cheap, mines about 35 a month contracted for a year. Place is clean, staff is helpful, 2 floors, pool, racket ball, you name it. It's an awesome gym an I'm happy to be a member.

Fantastic experience: Great gym for strength and cardio training. The place is huge and is never (even at peak times) jammed with people. The gym is also very well maintained. All equipment works and the workout areas/locker room are extremly clean. Prolly the best gym I've ever joined.

Fantastic experience: I was looking for a gym that had a steam room, I wasn't really interested in working out. I did an internet search and saw World Gym listed. I called and asked for a special deal considering I only wanted the steam. Bill, the manager said they only had standard rates, no deals. I asked what a membership would cost and he told me $38 a month! To me THAT was a deal! So I came in to check the place out and I was blown away! I was expecting some smelly dingy place, but when I was met by the manager and given a tour, I felt like I was in an upscale establishment. They have 2 plans. The gold plan gives you access to racquetball courts which I don't play, the silver plan gives you everything else, yoga classes, aerobics, all of it. There was a one time $40 fee, then $38 a month with a one year commitment, and that's it! The gym is beautiful and immaculate. The steam room is fiberglass and the steam is powerful with eucalyptus infusion. They have a heated saltwater pool and a jacuzzi with HOT water, and a sauna too. The men's room is like a swanky hotel, all tiled, wood lockers, plenty of light and space. The showers are powerful and the water is hot. Bill the manager treated me like a valued guest, gave me a tour, took me into his office and chatted with me, signed me up and I was off. This is a full service gym, and I can't recommend it highly enough, o, and there is an amazing cafe. Plus the atmosphere is friendly and inviting, very relaxed. I saw some gentlemen sitting in the cafe playing cards' it has a welcoming atmosphere. If you are looking for an amazing gym at an amazing price, RUN to World Gym in Bay Shore!

Positive experience: Really like this gym - BUT - I would love it more if they had another squat rack and some more parking. I doubt they can help with the parking due to the lot size, but they could definitely replace one of the smith racks with another full power rack. They are more popular than ever.

Positive experience: Great staff, great classes, great people, great gym! Some of the equipment is a little outdated so I'll give it a 4 out of 5 but if that's not your biggest concern it's a great gym
