Positive experience: It's a good spot if you're a bit serious about basketball. Officiated games all week are good. Refs ain't the best but it's better than nothing. Also has a little workout area with the essentials. Had a shooting machine but not anymore which is a bummer. Unfortunately they only have 2 locations. One in Irwindale and another in San Bernardino. It would be beneficial to all if they could open another gym somewhere closer to DTLA. Would recommend if you're trying to improve and have some sure runs. Although since there's only one court when there's a lot of people you might wait a while so don't lose. Also, ask for Fernando and tell him Kevin Roy sent you! He's a real one.

Positive experience: It's ok refs could use a lil more engagement with calling fouls and keeping track of the pints correctly tho also when calling timeouts other that it's cool for adults and teens

Positive experience: I bought a private trainer package in 2021 and it was all going good. The trainer told me to show up on time for the training but he would sometimes show up 1 hour late. Also another thing I had 2 sessions left in my package and I didn't use them because the manager said that I didnt use them on the time frame required and that didn't make any sense. So pretty much they stole 2 sessions away from me. Also a trainer took out 1 session because I didn't show up on time. And keep in mind I had to wait for the trainer to arrive 1 hr. or 1:30 min. Late. Some trainers were good just the part that I could finish my whole package really got me mad. I wish I could get that money back.

Negative experience: I'm a long time member along with both my daughters. We have been with Pickup since business was slow during COVID and have been loyal members despite the ongoing policy changes and price hikes due to inflation. We love the private training coaches and facility is great. But something needs to be said about their most recent change. It's been obvious they have shifted their focus less on player development and stronger emphasis on increasing their membership numbers. In the last year, they have sold their shooting machine, implemented new protocols for parents who are spectators and most annoying is another increase in their private training packages and costs wi the very little notice. Additionally they have no incentive for long time members locked into historical pricing or any type of referral bonus. Love the coaches, hate the management. *****Update***** Thanks for your speedy response Jordan. The price increase across the board is not reflected upon the coaches’ hourly pay. I am not sure where all that money is going. But I do see a lot of the management driving nicer cars…

Negative experience: Pickup USA, what a letdown. This gym is like a relic from the past, completely out of sync with its community. The service is abysmal, the pickup games are a joke, and don't even get me started on their complete lack of awareness of their members' needs. There used to be a small group of us, about 12 to 15 members, who would gather faithfully on Saturday mornings for a friendly game from 8 am to 10 am. But guess what? Pickup USA decided to extend the officiated runs starting from 8 am, effectively kicking us to the curb without a second thought. So, we adjusted, started playing on Friday nights from 6 pm to 8 pm when the courts were free. But lo and behold, they snatched that away too, replacing it with officiated runs for high schoolers. Way to prioritize, Pickup USA. I tried to cancel my membership, but apparently, that's akin to climbing Mount Everest. They insist I come in to sign some cancellation form. Seriously? I work and live in Hollywood, I have a family to look after, and now I have to jump through hoops just to cancel a membership at a gym that doesn't give a damn about its members? No thanks. Consider me gone, Pickup USA.

Fantastic experience: This gym is my go to place to either play basketball or workout, I love it so much and I never want to take my buisness somewhere else, but someone had told me that one of their best employees had been fired due to bad yelp reviews? I don’t know if this is true but it is I will be very sad and will miss him a lot. he felt like family to me and he treated all his customers with kindness and respect as everyone should. even if he is fired and it’s true I will still come but I just want to know and confirm that it is true.

Fantastic experience: PickUp USA has been a great find for me and the family. My son can get his practice in while the wife and I can work on our fitness as well. The gym is clean and the staff and coaches are super friendly. And, you can’t beat the officiated pick up games.

Negative experience: PickUp USA seems like a wonderful place for a basketball lover. Beautiful facility. Clean floors. Refereed games. Close to those in the San Gabriel Valley. I wanted to call this my home, but unfortunately, the experience I had was very lackluster and unprofessional. I am part of a group of 20 or so professionals that play pickup basketball every Saturday morning. We play outdoors so our bodies feel the pain that only an asphalt court can create. Our goal was to find an indoor court to play on as soon as possible. My search began in the middle of November of 2022. I contacted local schools and other rec centers, but it was nearly impossible or ridiculously expensive to rent out a court on Saturday mornings. I get it - people want to make money. I landed on PickUp USA and thought - wow a company that caters exactly to what we want - a place for us to rent a basketball court. I submitted an online inquiry and was quickly texted. I agreed to speak to them over the phone so I could get a quick response - I need an indoor basketball court - it needs to be available Saturday mornings - what is the price? I was quickly told that there was a kid’s basketball league until March of 2023. I said no problem, no need to further communicate. Apparently, they did not get the message and continued to contact me. On December 15, 2022, the General Manager contacted me via phone and asked me if I was still interested in a PickUp USA tour and potentially a membership. I said it wouldn’t be useful since I need a court Saturday mornings and have been told that there was a kid’s league at the time. He said that is correct, but on December 24, 2022 - there were no league games so the facility would be open gym and NO reservations or any chance of reserving the court for ourselves from 830am to 1pm and since it was our first time there, he would provide us complimentary passes to try out the facility in hopes of earning our business (20 people becoming members and potentially renting out the gym in the future). All I had to do was give him a roster of my group so he could create a pass. I asked him when, and he said “The day before (Friday, December 23) works so we can add them to your free day pass”. I agreed to this. A complimentary tour and complimentary passes to myself and my fellow basketball players. My entire group was excited. Then came the unprofessionalism. On Wednesday, December 21,2022, I contacted the GM by text message and informed him that I had the list of my group and if I could provide it to him. He said sure. I gave him the entire list. He did not indicate that the court would not be available. On Thursday morning, he claimed to have looked at his reservations and the only court available was a half court and the day pass would no longer be free and would cost $75/hr and if I would like to confirm this reservation. So it was an open gym with NO possibility of renting the court, but now there was a reservation. It was free, but now it was $75/hr. What made matters worse is that I expressed frustration with the GM who then started arguing with me and informed me that he did not want to tell me yesterday when he asked me to provide the names of the members of my group. The customer is not always right, but you should do everything in your power to make a customer happy - especially if it is your mistake. In retail, transparency is the most important thing. If there was an inkling of doubt, you provide it. The customer will appreciate your honesty and not accuse you of baiting and switching. This is unfortunate and unprofessional. How can you trust management when they change things up at the last minute? What would I have done as the GM? Informed the customer on as soon as there was even a hint of a chance the court not being available. Ok - what if it was too late? Probably offer me the half court for free - not $75/hr. It just felt super seedy to say everything was free, but then the day before, you say it's actually $75/hr.

Fantastic experience: Great facility and friendly staff. Perfect place if you’re a hooper! They got all the equipment you need, full court for runs, half court to improve your game, trainers, and even the shooting machine! On the side is a turf, TRX straps, and more equipment you can use for HIIT training. Fernando is the staff employee that helped me, he is very friendly and honest!

Fantastic experience: Excellent trainers, training program, and weekly games. My child never played basketball until the very first time they opened their youth program back in spring 2022. A lot of fun. Indoor basketball court is perfect on summer hot days, raining days, and cold nights to keep on practicing.

Fantastic experience: I absolutely have nothing but positive things to say about PickUp USA. The majority of my friends discovered this place January 2013, signed up, and continue to love it! All the other reviews and the website itself will tell you all the amenities, so instead of talking about those awesome features, I really just want to talk about the experience you get. There is not only an amazing community of basketball players that gather there all with the same love for the game, but there is also an incredible staff there that is really involved and gets to know members on a personal level! The staff doesn't even seem like staff (in a good way :]). They just seem like new friends you've met that just so happened to start up a wickedly cool basketball gym for all of your friends to play ball at. PICK-UP IS WELL WORTH THE $$$$. I was hesitant to write a good review because if TOO many people sign up and show up, I'll break too many ankles.... HAHAHAHA! (That was a joke if you didn't catch it....) Sign up, play with us, let's be friends!!! ^______^v P.S. Guys, don't worry, there won't be too much testosterone because there are some really skilled females that play... Do not underestimate them.... they will score on you ALL DAY. :P Ladies, sign up and show 'em who's boss. ;D

Fantastic experience: Pickup USA is a great place to work on your game and get some runs in. It's at a convenient location of the 605/210 freeways, everyone on the staff is friendly, and you don't really have all the meatheads that run around at 24hr or LA Fitness. Everyone here is here to play basketball. They have a well organized system for getting in games too...when you check-in, you're entered into the queue for the next available game. If you win, you stay. If you lose, then you can get right back into the queue. No more arguing over who's got next!

Fantastic experience: The reason why I joined PickUp USA was because I was sick of the drama at LA Fitness, 24 Hour Fitness, etc. It seemed that more time was spent arguing over calls and your place in line than actually playing basketball. PickUp USA eliminates all that with games that are reffed and someone to manage who is in line. On top of that, the courts are well maintained and regulation size. Basketball is an after-thought in other gyms whereas for PickUp USA, it is the first and foremost thing. I would highly recommend coming here to shoot around or play a basketball game.

Fantastic experience: Pickup USA I've been a member for almost a year and just signed on for another. PickupUSA is a great place to play basketball, regardless of your talent level. Games are organized (10 minute games ensure a lot of play time across multiple games), referees call the games, eliminating arguments over fouls. They have 1 full court and another half court where people warm up or play 3x3. You can run 5's full court pretty much any day, but during the times when it is quiet, you can run drills to work on fundamentals. And if you are willing to work, they will work you out hard. Easy access to 210 and 605 freeways, open 7 days a week, plenty of parking, clean, Gatorade for sale, and 2 widescreen TV's to watch basketball or football games. Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: PickUp USA is a great place to play basketball. The staff is friendly and helpful. The facility is top notch, there is a lounge with a flat screen TV where we watch all the games (NBA, NCAA and ect.), they carry Gatorade and other snacks. You really can't ask for more. All the games have Refs so you don't have to worry about calling your fouls. If your there by yourself one of the staff members will run drills to help you work on your game. If you love to play ball I strongly recommend you check PickUp USA out.

Where else can you play pick up basketball on a full size NBA style court, clean environment and with qualified officials! The facilities are great, the location is perfect, and the staff is awesome. Fantastic experience: Very well organized and a great place to get runs in. If you are trying to get into basketball shape, this is the place to be. Places like LA Fitness and 24HR fitness are always tough to get runs in, but here, you are guaranteed to play. Staff is also super friendly!

They are true to their word: you get all the benefits of league basketball and the flexibility of pick up basketball. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the amenities are amazing-great courts and basketballs. Moreover, all the members are friendly and love basketball. This means good, competitive, and friendly games. I give PickUp USA a 10 out of 10.

Fantastic experience: where to start... Firstly this is the best for basketball lovers of any level. Pickup USA is fully committed to basketball. They have one full court and a halfcourt warm up area to the side. Unlike most gyms their courts are always in pristine conditions, with new nets and clean backboards all day everyday. On top of perfect conditions they also have a super efficient system to not only get you in the game fast but they have a great referee staff that is always ready and willing to help whether you need rebounding or reffing 5v5 games. Also their lounge area always has the games on which is a plus when you are waiting to get in a game. But that isn't the best part. What Pickup USA really gets you is a staff that is willing to go as far as you want to take your game. On the down times when the gym is empty they give personal training for free. Since they also happen to be the refs that watch you every night they know what to help you work on which is tremendously helpful. I definitely reccommend this place. It's the best money I have ever spent. Courts 10/10 Service 11/10 Go sign up!

Fantastic experience: This is an excellent facility that provides great value to its members. PickUp USA is a great place to play some ball and work on your game. The courts are great and I love having the refs there to call the game. The lounge area is awesome too! I really like the fact that the gym is dedicated solely to basketball and pick up games. I can come in whenever my schedule allows, know that I can get in on some quick, competitive action and then get back to my everyday grind. Jordan (Owner) and his staff do a great job managing the gym and I look forward to continuing to play bball there.

Fantastic experience: Nothing but love from the PICKUP Crew. Every basketball call won't go your way and the competition can be tough, but you can believe that everyone just wants to win and get a good run in. The training and kids' programs that they have, sets a great example for professionalism and hard work. The facility is always clean and well organized and not appreciated enough by the members, but I definitely notice and definitely appreciate it. Even the guy the restocks the vending machines on Sundays is friendly. The management there makes sure that everything runs smoothly and treats everyone with respect. There's only one thing that I'd address and that would be the court rentals. If there was a weekly schedule to show when the court was rented or when training was scheduled, it would help me out. Fantastic experience: Great place for hoopers to get some solid runs in. Plus it has a weight room attached so you can lift before you play. The games are officiated so you don't have to worry about long arguments over game point. This will be my go to spot for a while.

Negative experience: This place is for ballhogs and people who don't know how to play. The court is small and they're too cheap to have hardwood. It's some cheap plastic floor that's smaller than a high school court.

Fantastic experience: PLEASE READ!! Star rating doesn’t matter, this place is nice!!! I brought my child to use this great facility like I normally do. I was then approached by staff here telling me I can’t be inside the facility, and if I want to be inside I need to be a paid member, but they’ll let me stay this last time, of course I signed the waiver form, my child is here. Why didn’t someone tell me this information before I paid for my child to be a member here? Where in the heck does someone not allow a parent to wait for their kid at least in a waiting room/area just like I’m doing now? Am I wrong or thinking incorrectly? My child is a girl, with men all around her....hhmmmmm? Do I need to go on here!!!!

Fantastic experience: This is one of my favorite places to hoop. My friends and I rent the court out on Sunday mornings and we love it. The court is well-maintained and clean, the rims are soft and forgiving (making it seem like you've got the shooter's touch) and they recently got new basketballs. The staff is great and they respond quickly on social media as well. I highly recommend checking this place out.

Fantastic experience: A true basketball gym. They have courts, weight training, cardio equipment and friendly staff. The staff is always cleaning up, the bathrooms and locker room are clean. They offer pickup games and basketball training. I walked in and fell in love with this gym. It's worth every penny of my gym membership. The best part is the shooting machine! This is no hype post at all. This is 100% me.
