Fantastic experience: Very happy member, I like the amenities. Please fix the Steam room though, with the pricey membership fee's there is no excuse to not have that Steam room fixed.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been a member of multiple gyms in the area and Healthtrax in Avon stands out as the best for me personally. The staff are super friendly, the facilities are always clean, fellow gym members are respectful, and I was never hit with any unexpected fees. I’d recommend to anyone.

Fantastic experience: Upon completion of a series of personal training sessions with Seth in Avon, I want to review my expectations and results: I sought Seth's knowledge of kinesiology and familiarity with physical therapy workplaces, as well as recent and up to date education, in order to improve my posture, balance, and shape. His plans were on target, continuously varied, easily and quickly modified if I could not do the exercises fully. I felt strengthened and informed with his coaching. I certainly felt I had a workout each time, yet I experienced no unusual pain the following day. He took account of my past health history and avoided any complications, and as for shape, I gained a pound and a half of lean muscle while experiencing modest weight loss, and cinching my belt tighter by two notches! A good experience, and valuable use of time, in my opinion.

Negative experience: I am a frustrated member. I would like Healthtrax of Avon to publicly post records that reflect how many days the steam room at the Avon facility has been broken - since 2019! I’ve reported it broken several times over the past three years. That’s right, three years. The COVID disruption to the supply chain excuse is no longer credible. The plumbing simply needs to be replaced. Why hasn’t this been done ? Why is the YMCA in Granby able to maintain its steam room but Healthtrax of Avon can’t ?
Fantastic experience: I've been going here for years, and cannot say enough good things about it. Its rarely too crowded, its always clean, and everyone there is super helpful. Special shoutout to Chris, Nick and Lois at the front, always ready to help! The trainers are also awesome - super knowledgeable and willing to take time to answer questions - Grayson, Josh, Seth, McKenzie - everyone, really! I've done swim lessons with Mr C and would recommend them. Kathy C has awesome yoga classes. So really - everything is amazing. :)

Positive experience: Very nice gym. Well maintained and if equipment was out-of-order it was clearly marked. Even at busy times it was fairly easy to get on equipment. Priced a little high for what I use (treadmill, some machines, and free weights), but if you use the sauna, pool, and classes also then it may be good for you. I was able to try for a month.
Fantastic experience: Well organized facility with clean equipment, and great amenities. The jacuzzi & sauna combo providing the perfect recovery regiment after a long workout. A gym filled with friendly regulars, and welcoming/resourceful staff members (special shoutout to Nick & Chris).

Fantastic experience: Just started here and this is a great gym. I've been attending group yoga and the instructors are great about bringing you into the moment and creating a mindful experience while you get a great workout. There are plenty of choices for gym equipment (strength and cardio), and the staff is very friendly and helpful. They have already updated the locker room since I've been here, and I always see employees going around cleaning throughout the day. Bonus: there's a pool, hot tub, and sauna! I saw other reviews with complaints about the price, but in my experience you always pay a little more for the pool/hot tub and this is normal. Definitely worth the investment.

Fantastic experience: It's a good gym with lots of amenities, they have not only cardio and free weights, but also steam/dry saunas, hots, therapy warm pool, and a small swimming/lap pool

Positive experience: New manager Nick has been quite responsive to suggestions about large area needing upkeep, spacing and organization of loose equipment. Arc trainer foot beds used to be full of sand and road debris...but not lately! Still need work in getting back to pre -covid equipment like rehanging TRX. But improving!

Fantastic experience: We just joined so my kids can use up energy in the pool. We stay in the smaller pool. The adjacent larger one(to the left of image) has limited lanes. Note some times are reserved for aqua therapy through insurance. I see folks coming in and out of a sauna area(to the right of image not in view) but have yet to see what's that about. On the way inside to the pool we pass next to the weight training space which looks airy and adequate. We got a slight discount from my employer. Not that I've done extended research, but I think the price is very fair given the size of the place. Staff are friendly as well.

Positive experience: My trainer, McKenzie , is the absolute best. If you saw us, you wouldn't know I was working so hard. She has inspired me to go a step beyond what was required. What is even better is that we have the same sense of humor.

Fantastic experience: I joined the gym to lose weight I gained during Covid. Immediately, on first visit I was greeted by Nick, the director. Nick was and continues to be a wonderful support to me. His door is always open to his office and he really cares about the clients. I am currently working with John, my trainer. He is incredibly knowledgeable about all areas of fitness. He adapts the exercises to meet my needs. John has a holistic approach to fitness and weight loss. I am a cancer survivor and a heart transplant recipient. All the staff at Healthtrax are very kind and supportive. They take my special situation into account when planning my exercise regime. I'm losing weight safely and consistently.

Negative experience: Update: A refund was issued. Less than we'd expected as it appears several training sessions were booked against our account on dates that did not match our records (e.g. when we were out of the USA!). Just be sure to check your account on a regular basis. Buyer Beware!!! On Jan 26th 2020 My Wife and I Paid Healthtrax $2373.73 for a personal training package of 24 x 60 MIN SESSIONS On March 16th – the facility closed due to Covid and in April we moved permanently away from CT . Of the 24 sessions we paid for only 7 were used and we therefore requested a refund. After several phone conversations with Fern Fitzgerald and Linda Clemons it was agreed in June 2020 that Healthtrax would issue a refund to us for unused training session in the amount of $1600. We were told that a refund payment would be mailed to us in August 2020 Since then and despite many, many follow up calls and emails we still have had NO refund issued and NO response from either Fern or Linda or other staff at HealthTrax. Check out the Better Business Bureau, Hartford Courant etc and you'll see this is frequent complaint! A sad end to many years as members of HealthTrax. :(

Negative experience: Unwelcoming. Unable to do a 45 second body scan for a non-member more than willing to pay for thier time. Will not return.
Fantastic experience: No matter what other gyms I try out, it seems I always end up back at Healthtrax.
Negative experience: If you need a wellness center, go somewhere else where you can get personal attention. Managing three or more people at one time is not good. They really have no plan to help you with getting better.

Fantastic experience: This is the gym we've all been looking for! It's got something for everyone from the ultraserious fitness freak to a family looking to establish healthy patterns for themselves and kids to senior citizens trying to add on a few years of fitness. Plenty of classes and programs without feeling overprogrammed. Personal training, swimming pool, sauna and ample parking. And nonjudgemental. Perfect!

I love coming to the Yoga classes and am excited to take advantage of this facility with all it has to offer, along with great classes, instructors, and trainers. Fantastic experience: I love this gym. They offer a wide range of group classes that address the mind, body and soul. No matter what your fitness level is you can find one that works for you. Outstanding class instructors. I always find the staff helpful and friendly.
Negative experience: This place is an absolute ripoff!!! They charge $65 a month per person, they charge first and last month up front and additional $35 every year to "update and maintain" nothing!!! The equipment is broken and very very outdated most of the time doesn't work and signs for repair sitting on the machines for months yes months. The staff is very rude especially the so called "director" and late night staff. I am so happy to cancel to membership DO NOT JOIN THIS PLACE!!!!! I have never seen a more disgusting and unclean gym in my life they barley clean and have an attitude when I ask them to replace the paper towels and spray bottles.
Negative experience: Not family friendly. My grand-daughter nearly cried when she was told to she couldn't use the pool. No one else was there except for an older man who wasn't using the pool at all. Felt completely bullied and staff did not respond as there are contradictory rules posted on the walls. It is embarrassing someone my age would have nothing better to do than make a small children feel sad.

Fantastic experience: I've been a member for about 15 years, taking 5-7 hours of classes (cardio, strength, yoga) a week. Super leaders, great facility, good hours, and a friendly group all around.

Negative experience: A spacious fitness center with an inside pool, lots of weight options, classes, and TRX suspension traps. Unfortunately, it's a bit too salesy for me. I tried to find out what the monthly fee was before my first visit, to no avail. I joined, even though the fee was more than 3 times more expensive than my current gym, because they were running a promotion (as they always seem to be having). Some of the equipment is old and not well maintained. The locker room is spacious and well equipped, but when I used the showers, there was no hot water. That did it for me. Even though I canceled within the time specified on the contract, in person, they charged me for the following month. After repeated phone calls and visit to get reimbursed, I had to call the credit card company to dispute the charge.
Negative experience: I agree with other reviewers. 1: Expensive membership The membership is $75/month for individuals. The gym is not like a real professional gym like LA fitness but a wellness recovery center. All facilities are out dated and poorly maintained(some equipment are out of order for 3 months and no fixes at all). Halfway through the year $35 maintenance fee is charged without any notice, but No any improvement in the healthtrax at all. 2: Poorly Management When I enrolled in to the membership. I was told by Lessie , my membership could be canceled anytime without any penalty. 5 months joining with healthtrax, I was so disappointed with it and want to end the membership. but the manager (Nancy) told me my contract is annual contract and can not be canceled during the middle of the year. They are playing the word game with me and saying I need to continue the membership one month extra to end the unhappiness. 3: Carpet smelled badly and Crowded Group Training The carpet smells very badly(like urine) in the lady's restroom. I don't know how to describe it but it's unforgettable. A lot of the training machine are not well maintain by Staff and you can feel the dirt and oil on the machine and no one cleans. Crowded group training room. You need to come early to have the class because the space is not enough for all people fit in the room. I would not recommend healthtrax to anyone! Run Away
Negative experience: Don't do it! Whomever said it was $55/month must have had a senior plan. For the rest of us the price is $75/month. Halfway through the year we were charged some$35 maintenance fee. Shortly after that, the pool was out of order for a month. Swimming was the only reason we paid such an unholy price and chose this place. Not worth it. Can't wait until my dumb contract is up! Never again with a contract anywhere!
Positive experience: busy, full of people, and $79/month! bad odor in the changing room. people deserve better!
Negative experience: Where is the Manager? Weight room is always a mess, things broken and you tell them week after week, but nothing gets done. Looks nice in the beginning when you don't really know what goes on. Don't worry, you'll see. $55.70 is too much to pay for such bad service. It's like they don't care if you leave.
